- Job Title: iLac
Rank: D Rank
Player Requirements: Any Rank
Job Requirements: 500 words per player
Job Location: Neutral Grounds
Job Description: A brand new device called the iLac has come out and the manufacturer is giving them away to anyone who visits the factory in Neutral Ground. Keep in mind, as soon as you step foot on Neutral Ground territory, all your magic (Primary, Secondary, Weapons, Armour, Pets, Unique Abilities, Passive Effects) is instantly shut down. But that's no problem because all you're doing is picking up your brand new iLac.
Reward: 1x iLac for everyone
iLac is a lacrima that functions like our real world cell phones. It can access lacrima-net, but CANNOT grant the user access to OOC information on other players. It can grant the user the ability to contact any other player who also owns an iLac providing that other player gave the caller their Lacrima Identification Code (phone number). The iLac also has a calendar, calculator, HP and MP tracker, stopwatch, alarm, and any other fun applications (that do not permit your character to know OOC information on another character) you can think of. It also has a Sorcerer's Weekly app installed.
I've been out there and seen the things she's made
"Now this wasn't quite what I expected."
Mythal, on his journey to Magnolia, had come across somewhere entirely new. His travels had taken him to a massive city, that seemed to tower over every larger metropolis he had ever seen or imagined. It was truly a nightmare to someone like Mythal, who abhorred being near people even in the smallest of settings. Bigger cities meant more people, moving around, infecting the land with their lives and that just made him groan and roll his eyes. And yet, like most things in his life, going into the buggered place was something that was required. It seemed no one was willing to sell wares that he needed or wanted out of some shack in the woods, where he could feel just a tiny bit more at ease.
The only advantage he had here was that all he had to do was go to a factory on the outskirts of town. The outskirts wouldn't be infested by as many people and most of them were going about their working day. That meant less of a chance of him being bothered; a sigh of relief had escaped his mouth as he came to the realization. And all because having one of these... iLacs was going to help him find out where Magnolia was. It apparently was some kind of mobile device that had all the applications one might find on some kind of digital lacrima machine. Mythal couldn't really explain it himself; he hadn't been around the continuously advancing magical technology all that much in his life. But his ears had perked when he heard this particular lacrima had a digital map. While he had a slight notion of where Magnolia was, he couldn't profess to knowing it's exact location.
Plus it would help him when and if he managed to start working jobs again.
It was fairly easy to find the spot where they were handing out the iLacs; there was a massive neon sign practically pointing at the gentleman surrounded by brown boxes. People were coming up to the table, grabbing a device and moving on, most not even bothering to say anything as they did so. No line meant no possibility for small talk; Mythal allowed a small smile on his face in relief. He mimicked the others and walked right up to the table, grabbing one of the newly deposited iLacs and turning right around. No pause and no interruption from anyone around him. Boy, that was easy.
He opened up the box in a hurry and deposited the iLac in his hand, while using the other to swiftly unfold the small piece of instructional paper. He followed it to the tee, holding down the power button and blinking as the screen lit up, greeting him and welcoming him to his new device. A small video was played before he got to the home screen, giving him advice on what to download off the lacrima-net and other tidbits he didn't really care about. Once everything seemed to be set, he pressed the button that led to the application menu and traced his eyes over every differently shaped icon. When he found the map one, he quickly pushed down on it.
It asked where he wanted to go and popped up a digital keyboard. Carefully and with the technological ingenuity of a ninety-year old, Mythal pressed each key until he had typed in Fairy Tail, Magnolia. The screen flashed once and then proceeded to generate a map for him, complete with a glowing gold line for him to track his progress on.
Well then. Looks like he was on his way.
