It's goin down!!!! (Job: Talis and Seaglass)

Little Arcadia skipped along, glad to be with Mia. It could get tiring to be constantly stopped asked if you were lost, no matter the good intentions. She smiled, “I should thank you. I usually wish I had a friend with me on any train ride. Doesn't stop the ride from twisting my stomach into knots, but it does make it more bearable.”

The little blonde slayer listened carefully, even as her faerie green gaze glanced the various shops they were passing. Crowds were never her thing, but they were tolerable these days with someone she knew along/ She'd skip ahead and in circles as she wandered all around, but never more than four or six steps away from Mia. The pale blonde girl did hang a bit closer to Mia when a a more burly looking stranger might pass by.

She smiled back up to Mia after one had passed by, ”No worries. Learnin' stuff about guildmates makes them feel more like actual family. I hope I get to meet some of yours sometime. Nessa and Aven.. all of Fairy Tail really is my third family. So you've met or seen most of them.”

Walking backwards, she failed to lift one of her feet high enough to avoid tripping over a raised paver in the street. The littlest slayer stumbled and took an unceremonious seat on the ground. Arcadia flushed lightly in mild embarrassment, getting right back up and dusting off her dress., ”Uh..I'm good anyway.. it's be sweet to go see Midi someday. I'm from the Kingdom of Dragnoff. Been all over Fiore since waking up from the Sphere spell my mom put me in, but not much anywhere outside of it. I got my passport though. Still only been three or four months since I woke up to this...future we're in. So I totes get what you mean by overwhelmed.”

She spun around to look to the nightclub had come to, ”Oh yeah.. yeah, Boomslang is a nightclub.” Little Arcadia looked mildly confused, ”They don't got nightclubs in Midi? Sure we can go in. It's kinda loud and crowded”

Hearing there was another dance contest changed any trepidation that might have shown on the young mage's face, her faerie green gaze burning with a competitive spark instead. ”Booyeah! No probs we can enter. I won one of their dance contests about a month and a half ago. If we win I'll be a 2-time dance master! Sweet. Heads up... some of the regular contestants can get a little underhanded..so just be ready.”

An icy mist forms around the little slayer, ice crystals hanging the mist sparkling before reflecting the light into the optical disguise of teenage Arcadia, though her voice was still young sounding. ”I hope the Jets are here this time.”

Arcadia dusted herself off, though she didn't really need to since the dress of the aged up image she was wearing was already spotless.  The barefoot slayer followed closer to Mia, still a little hesitant until they got inside. Shy of crowds and strangers as she may still be, the music, the atmosphere of the nightclub and the possibility of winning a second dance title brought out Arcadia's competitive side.

With her mind distracted from all the little things that make her shy of strangers and crowds, the pale blonde girl  wandered more freely and further than she had outside. With a care-free twirl, she giggled, was a already grooving a little to the current song. ”If it's like last time, there's a panel of judges sitting somewhere. It was just nightclub staff, so if you see a bunch of bored looking bouncers and wait staff... uh that's probably them.  Just havta let them know you're entering so they know to who keep an eye on for the choosing a winner. The Jets.. were my toughest competition last time. They claimed to be a dance guild... the greatest in all of Fiore and all of Ishgar. They took the whole thing pretty serious too.”

Arcadia giggled again, thinking back as she continued, ”Kinda like treasure hunters, only dedicated to dancing, I guess, with some of the magical stuff they were wearing, and no real magic of their own. Never heard of a dance guild before I met them. I thought it was because hibernating so many centuries away that I'd never head of such a thing, but uh... the dance guild in all of Ishgar because they're the ONLY dance guild in all of Ishgar. I ain't heard of any other such guilds since then. Could be wrong. Maybe it's a bigger deal outside of Fiore.

Her faerie green eyes caught sight of a small congregation of of some bouncers and one or two off-duty bartenders. ”Let's go let'em know to keep an eye on us.” Arcadia lead the way over, but  not without pausing to draw deep breath. A moment's shyness brushed aside, she offered the staff judges a smile, ”Hey guys! Before ya ask. No. I wouldn't take one of your delivery jobs again for all the jewel in Fiore. But me and Mia here are here to take home that prize money and another dance title for Fairy Tail.”

One of the off duty bartenders among the staff judges laughed as he lifted up the clipboard  with the sign up sheet, “Who were you again?”

Arcadia sighed, ”Arcadia Fairchilde and Mia Liu of Fairy Tail.”

The bartender laughed as did a couple other staff judges, ”Oh yeah, almost didn't recognize you without your... dance posse.”

The young blonde slayer stood a little straighter, ”Maybe not, but Mia and me can win without a whole posse to back us up.”

The bartender judge jotted down their names to the list, “Whatever you say, squirt. Dance your hearts out.”

Turning back to Mia, Arcadia smiled, ”Anyway... ready? Let's show 'em! And... lemme know if you see any of the Jets. I doubt they're here, but keep an eye out for a guy in a sparkly jumpsuit and cape, dark hair greased up into a poofy pompadour. Likes to say things like 'Hoo dooggie.' Forget his name, but I think he was their leader. If he's here, then the rest of them probably are too.”

Riding on Mia's shoulders, Arcadia surveyed the club from her new vantage point. She could only dream of being this tall one day. She held her arms up, waving with both like the returning champion she was. The blonde wizard laughed, fully enjoying their entrance.

Back on her own feet, Arcadia tried to strike a pose to mirror Mia's. Her nerves got in the way, the younger slayer focusing a little too hard on trying to look cool. Worrying too much about impressing the judges, and not where her feet should go next. She took an ungraceful seat on the club floor. Smiling sheepishly up to Mia, ”Sorry about that.”

When the music stopped, Arcadia did her best to make her slip look intentional, at least less awkward. She leaned onto one hand, and swung legs around, working herself into a spin on her back. Slowing her spin, she planted her hands by each of her ears, and swung legs up high though bent in at the knee. Arcadia kicked out and pushed off with her hands to kip up to her feet.

She standing again just in time to join Mia in dance. Arcadia twirled, getting into the grove of the new song. As it grew louder, the younger slayer appeared to divide herself in two, then four. Three were copies of the puppet of mist she was wearing to look 14 again. Seeing Mia's skill at dancing, Arcadia decided she could provide the back up dancers. For now she left the total at four, forming a small dance circle around Mia. The dress skirt of each Arcadia would flare aesthetically out as they twirled to their left, dancing clockwise around the older slayer.

Out of the corner of her eye, she spotted one careless flame mage. He dancing off against a group of about ten people. The flame mage was holding his own, but the gouts of showy flame he was using to special effect was singing a a few other dancers nearby. Arcadia was not so worried about that guy this time, having Mia with her. It was the familiar tall figure leading the group the flame mage was facing off with that worried her.

He was a tall, broad-shouldered man. Dark hair perfectly quaffed into a poofy pompadour. He wore a form-hugging pure white jumpsuit lined with rhinestones. He had the jumpsuit's high collar popped up and wore a white satin half cape. The leader's outfit was topped off with dark shades despite being in a dimly lit nightclub. The rest of his group wore matching leotards or dance tights basic white t-shirts over their dancewear. A few of the female members of his troupe wore soft pink tutus with poodles sewn in. Arcadia sighed and muttered flatly, ”Great. The Jets are here after all.”

From the way the Jets faced off with the flame mage, it was easy to tell they were professionally trained. They were not wizards themselves, but they carried magic items that served to provide them theatrical effects like smoke and pyrotechnics. Effects they were putting to effective use against the flame mage..

She kept on dancing, not sure if she was excited and dismayed when the Jet's leader picked out four of his troupe to lead on over toward Mia and herself. He left the rest of his troupe to handle the face off with the flame mage. He lead them in formation, stooped forward, and approaching in a rhythmic walk, each Jet also snapping in time to their steps and the music. His troupe gave the lead a puff of smoke to appear through as he lead them to face the two Fairy Tail mages.

He lowered his shades, peering over the top, “Hooo, doggies! Look whose back. I knew you couldn't stay away. And who's hot mama with you this time? Another of your friends from Fairy Tail?”

All four Arcadia's folded their arms over their chests, though her voice told which was the disguised real one. To keep up the flow of the dance, Arcadia twirled and had each of her copies twirl into position, two Arcadias on either side of Mia. Two Arcadias knelt down on the floor, arms extended to present Mia, while two more Arcadia stood behind, their arms also extended to present Mia, ”This is Mia Liu! One of our newest friends in Fairy Tail. And maybe an even better dancer than me! “

The Jet leader pushed his shades back up and laughed as his back up moved to frame him dramatically, complete with sparklers flying from their extended arms to mimic an aura of fire around their leader. ”Hoooo! We'll just see about that, doggies. We will see. The Jets have proven themselves the best dance guild around a few times over since last we met. We won't lose to the same little doggies twice!”

The Jet's leader held a casually arrogant smirk, ”Spicy. You're on.” He glanced to his fellow Jets, ”Alright guys and gals, ya heard the hot mama. No fireworks.” He shook his hips once or twice, and pointed dramatically back to Mia and Arcadia, ”The Jets have more than once ace up our sleeves to handle magic doggies like you. Whaaa-huh! C'mon Jets! Let's get... all shook up.”

Each of the Jets, including the leader tapped something on the clothes, causing an arrays of glowing colors to shift through the neon rainbow to the music. The Jets took formation, every move of theirs as sharp and fluid as you would expect from a professional dance troupe. It was how they had intimidated a few contestants to withdraw already.

Arcadia would shift her little magic show to match, doubling the number of puppets of mist dancing around Mia from four to eight. Each Arcadia took on her own shifting neon glow, and each one always a different color than the others. She would use her illusions of mist to give Mia the appearance of shifting neon too. Arcadia would add having the glowing images of herself to blink in and out of existence to the music, including making herself invisible and visible again to match.

As the mini celtic rave battle heated up, other dancers dropped out just to watch, including the flame mage. They all formed a circle around the Jets and Fairy Tail dancers, cheering them on. The club dimmed their lights to allow a full effect of the neon show. The announcer called, “Looks like we're already down to our finalists, go on and cheer for your favorite folks! Audience favor counts as much as style as decided by our judges!”

The Jets were certainly intimidating opponents with their professional polish to every move and tumbling move they made. It was their strength and their weakness, as that was they came across, it was all too rehearsed. Who knew how many times they had done these same routines, as they came off bored and lackluster.

In comparison, the Fairy Tail duo of Mia and Arcadia had soul the road-weary Jets just couldn't match, and soon the crowd cheers reflected that. The darkened night club roared with the cheers of the hard won crowd, and the Arcadia all lined up to let Mia bring them home for the big finish, Arcadia hoping the judges would side with the crowd, and show the haughty Jets leader what for.

Arcadia kept herself disguised as the 14 year old she should, even after dismissing the duplicate images of herself back into dissipating icy mist. She was too busy riding the adrenaline rush of competition to be bothered by the surrounding crowd. Their cheers a nice further distraction too. When she realized they were all mostly for herself and Mia she looked over to the Jets. With the crowd chanting for the judges to pick the wizards from Fairy Tail, of course most of them looked disappointed.

The previously cocksure leader of the Jets was expressly livid. He knew the judges rarely picked against the crowd favorite. It just wouldn't be good for business.

The judges announced, "Let's hear it for all our talented contestants! They sure gave quite a show! Both our finalists gave it their all, but we all know who the winner is! There can only be one, and tonight the reigning champs have been unseated! Mia and Arcadia of Fairy Tail are the new Boomslang Dance Night Champions!"

When the judges announced the winner over the speakers, the Jets leader started toward Mia and Arcadia. He was stopped short of taking more than a step by one of the Jets women, "Cool it, Jack. Don't flip your wig. These squares ain't so bad ya know. They won it fair. If you go makin' the Jets look bad again, then maybe its time we found someone who's lost their way from coolsville."

The Jets leader held up hands as if in surrender, "Hoo, now lets not get hasty, doggies. We can talk about this. For now, let's roll. The Jets are splitsville. Time to leave this ugly scene."

Most of the Jets just looked at the leader and stayed to cheer their congratulations across the club to Mia and Arcadia. They watched along with the rest pf the crowd as the judges made their way through, and presented the Fairy Tail wizards with their little trophies and jewel winnings.

As the crowd began to disperse to mill around into a more regular night, Arcadia leaned and whispered to Mia,"We did it! And maybe we should go celebrate outside, before any of the shadier characters around this place get any sketch ideas about our prize jewel." The young ice slayer would wait and follow Mia out when she was ready.
