"So, you think that is where they went after robbing you of your tome?"

"I've no confirmation but... hopefully that is the case. Please get it back in one piece!"

"I'll see what I can do."

The blonde woman strolled along the outskirts of Shirotsune, shifting her aquamarine gaze about as she analyzed her surroundings for any sign of others in her magic sensory range. She wore a tucked white dress shirt, with two top buttons left undone and a black buckle just a few inches above the ends of her sleeves, as well as a pair of sleek blue jeans, a belt matching the aforementioned buckles, and brown boots reaching up to her ankles. Along her shoulders was a navy blue cloak, with a heightened collar that fluttered from the every occasional breeze, and kept hanging from her due to a pair of black laces tied together while hovering over her neck.

The calm and collected, platinum-haired Mage stopped dead in her tracks and sniffed for a moment, before squinting further ahead into a clearing. Submerged in bushes amongst the woodland she had been trecking through, she had just stepped into a sufficient range to detect her the suspects. Right now, she could detect about... nine people within her sensory range? But her sense of smell was off in contrast to that, making her suspect that there were more ahead, just out of her range. What was the strangest part of it all was that they seemed alert, and their clothing was unorthodox. They barely revealed their skin, and instead opted to hide behind the coverage of a partial face mask and various, baggy clothes that left their gender or what they might have concealed up to debate.

Angelica let out a heavy sigh, knowing that from the tension in the air that her arrival had not gone unnoticed, and that they were as aware of her as she was of them. Standing up from her prone position amidst the bushes, the slayer casually elevated her hand past her shoulder, pushing her for once free-flowing, lengthy blonde locks behind her. "I might've gotten in over my head.. but let's give this a go anyways." Angelica murmured to herself, before buckling her knees. She sprung into action, thrusting up into the air to give herself a good vantage point. Under normal circumstances, a Mage of her level -- with no supplementary talents at least active would've noticed the concealed ninja, but an unmistakably conceited sneer, matched with a craning of her eyebrows, showed that she had otherwise under her belt.

The female extended her arm forth and stuck her pointer finger out, magic energy channeling itself in the form of a flickering white light at the base of her index. Now detecting about twelve white ninja instead of the previous nine, her bravado faltered, but it was by no means visible. Half a dozen shuriken were sent thrusting up towards her, their owners moving about in her line of sight while the other six seemed to make an effort to conceal themselves amidst the surrounding woodland. Regardless, the white light suddenly fired off, expanding out into decently-sized, six-separate waves that rained down upon the set of enemies.

The waves pulverised the incoming projectiles, proceeding to home in on their throwers as they made an effort to take cover. Each of them were struck with an individual wave and thrown off their feet, though they were quick to get back up, showing resistance and resilience, but slightly more sluggish movement than before. As Angelica landed on the ground, they ran up to surround her, drawing their blades in anticipation for her to make some move.

'This is gonna be tough.. oh boy.' Angelica mused, before flaring up her magical energies enticingly. She was ready as ever... or at least wished she was!

Post by Pokomon 15th December 2018, 2:28 am

Kumi was not usually one to meddle with the affairs of humans, but from her current location she could spy someone that was definitely in need of some assistance. Her long hair was currently as black as a raven, flowing freely around her while her tails white as snow. She was adorning a short dress, with long thigh high boots that allowed her to move without too much restriction should the need to fight arrive. Upon the vulpine's slender shoulder sat a small purple and white bunny like creature, his large purple eyes pleading for his friend to help. "Fine." Kumi sighed, the creature jumping off and floating slowly to the ground, preparing to wait on the sidelines.

“I too believe we should help.” A deep voice echoed in Kumi’s mind, causing the vixen to look down at the jet black fox beside her, the rings on his body glowing a dark red as he prepared for combat.

“I said fine already…” Kumi groaned before pushing off of the ground below to forcing herself forward at incredible speed towards the ring of people, the black fox next to her charging in beside her. As the vixen drew closer she began to feel the spiritual energy of each of those before her. However she had to use her golden eyes to notice it was a female with blonde hair in the centre, the others completely covered from head to toe, possibly part of some strange cult. For the most part it appeared the cultists were too busy to notice her arrival, however, a couple from the opposite side of the ring eyed her, shouting orders for a couple to turn to deal with the nine tailed woman. Kumi new that even with her, soul and the blonde girl, they were going to be severely outnumbered, of course there was one way to help level the playing field. “I call upon you, Tera, guardian of the stars.” the vulpine called telepathically, summoning her guardian spirit to the fray just before she got into range to send a small ball of energy towards the closest of the completely covered humans.

“Well, this is a nice change of pace from our regular training.” Tera proclaimed excitedly, her reddish brown ponytail flowing behind her as she leapt into the sky before coming down and pounding another of the cultists with her fist coated in rock and earth, completely knocking him out. “Never mind, this is far too easy.” She whined sad that they were so slow and didn’t seem to be that much of a challenge. Still the earth spirit  prepared herself, changing her stance slightly to steady herself as she stood ready to defend herself as one of the sword wielders charged towards her a smirk on her face as she stared him down with her bright yellow eyes.

Meanwhile Soul had also leapt into action, leaping up and biting the wrist with his sharp teeth of another nearby cultist. He managed to pierce through the cloth and skin before using his hind legs to push himself away again, landing steadily on all four paws as he slid back slightly through the dirt on the ground. While his attack hadn’t knocked the man unconscious it had injured him enough that he dropped his sword to grab onto his bleeding wrist, leaving him practically defenseless. Now that their defenses were broken, they had left plenty of room for the blonde to react, Kumi just hoped that it was obvious enough to the stranger that they were here to help her.

Although the vixen was curious as to what exactly the girl was doing here, did she just happen to stumble into the territory of these attackers accidentally, or was she here on purpose? If the latter was true, why exactly? It seemed like a rather odd choice to make, although, it wasn’t as if the blonde was weak, Kumi could feel a strong magical energy from the blonde, so clearly she had potential. Well, the time for questions would have to wait as she decided to make it even more obvious that they were her allies by sending out a small bright coating of aura to spread around the girl, protecting her from harm. Should one of the cultists attack her they would find their attacks ineffective, at least for a while.

Ready to Rumble, the Ninja Edition! (Job - Angelica/Kumi) Empty Re: Ready to Rumble, the Ninja Edition! (Job - Angelica/Kumi)

Post by Copycat 15th December 2018, 6:48 am

Just as her magical energy flared up, an aura of pure white started to surface around her frame, initially appearing as a bright glow that wrapped about her physique. Taking that as hostility, the numerous ninja lunged forward with their various weaponry. Angelica herself buckled her knees and prepared to spring off the ground, mainly to get herself some temporary, but helpfuld istance. It's at that point that the soon-to-ascend blonde took notice of another person -- dressed differently. Angelica noticeably grimaced, up until the stranger summoned forth an accomplice who fired an orb of energy at the crowd of ninja.

Quick to respond to this, Angelica dipped off to her right and with a powerful spin upon her heel, she lunged her right leg out. As the sphere of energy fired by Tera made contact with one of the ninja, the blonde's leg connected with the midsection of the ninja that Angelica was personally targeting. Pushing her bodily weight behind the blow and twisting the rest of her frame with the movement, the blonde quickly flung the ninja into the one that had been recently struck, letting the guy she recently hit go down like the other already had just from contact with the magic attack. Kumi's companion Soul running in to bite one of the ninja had also helped Angelica get out using the opening she made for herself by attacking one of them, and she was quick to use that gyration she did with her kick to let her back face that very opening.

Angelica proceeded to kick off of the ground, doing her best to focus on her senses to see if she could detect any more. In the midst of a fight however, that was easier said than done. Even though Angelica kept holding onto that small, stubborn idea in her mind that she would've been fine on her own, she appreciated the aid but wouldn't voice it until this whole situation was out of the way. Extending her arm forward once more, the blonde pointed her index finger at one of the ninja and gathered more white light to the base of her finger. Another volley of waves of light cascaded upon the ninja that were still conscious, knocking them out for the count this time around. Once Angelica landed, she skidded back a bit, putting her general sensory as a Mage and her enhanced five senses to the test once more.

After a moment or two of pausing, she snapped her attention toward Kumi and her acquintances for a moment to see how they were doing, then stood up. With a brief flick of the border to her blue cloak, she pushed the cloth behind her arm and shifted her frame, pointing her back partially to Kumi. She extended her right arm out this time around. White light gathered to the base of her right hand, her left hand coming forward to line up with her right as it did the same. Slowly but surely, the shape of a bow manifested from the light, and with it, an arrow. "There's about... four.. no, five I think coming from the north. I'm probably not their only target anymore, either." Angelica speaks loud enough for the fellow Mage to hear, before squinting.

Right as a ninja among the squadron of them emerged from the trees, the blonde let the arrow fly. It darted through the air at insane speeds, slamming square into her target's chest. Instead of piercing through, the speed and force of it were taken advantage of and used to send her unfortunate foe flying back into one of his accomplices. There was still a good fifteen to twenty meter range between herself and the incoming ninja, giving her more time to take notice of how even more were approaching after she said that. With a wistful sigh at misinterpreting the difficulty level of the job, Angelica started to saunter forward, letting a gold-encased white glow start to take shape within her grasp as she employed her second magic, Camelot.

"Their base of operations is further ahead and there's most likely more of them on their way. You're free to leave if you aren't in it for the long haul but -- what am I saying? Let's beat them down, if that's what you're here for as well." She remarked in a friendly manner, her lax voice letting a bit of her thrill slip out. The shining light within her grasp finally grew more defined in both material and composition, taking the shape of her weapon of choice -- Caladbolg II.

Ready to Rumble, the Ninja Edition! (Job - Angelica/Kumi) Empty Re: Ready to Rumble, the Ninja Edition! (Job - Angelica/Kumi)

Post by Pokomon 15th December 2018, 5:15 pm

Tera, Soul and Kumi made short work of those remaining from the circle, the enemy’s swords useless against the trio. Tera even grabbed one and broke it in half in the middle of the fight, causing fear and panic in the ninja she had been fighting before sending her earth covered fist directly into his stomach, rendering him unconscious. In the meantime Soul had released a wave of powerful energy at the two that were coming for him, picking him as the weakest enemy due to being a small animal. A mistake that cost them dearly as a blast of pure spiritual energy caused them great physical harm and sent them flying onto the ground, collapsing with their fellow comrades.

Kumi looked around to ensure each of the cultists appeared taken care of, they all seemed at least unconscious and unmoving, their auras weak, a sign they wouldn’t be able to move even if they were awake. While she wasn’t against ending someone’s life, she only did so when deemed necessary. It was not her place to play god amongst the humans and pick who lived and died. The vixen was about to speak up, happy to see the end of these men, when she felt a strong magical force coming from the blonde woman, looking over she saw her charging what appeared to be an arrow of light, her eyes scanned to see her target was in fact more of these dark cloth covered enemies. Kumi’s fox ears upon her head twitched as the girl spoke, there were indeed more coming, they were still a fair bit away, giving the vixen time to project her spiritual energy further, feeling what seemed to be a small camp not too far into the trees, it felt almost hive-like as the auras of each living being rushed around like busy bees preparing to protect their queen. Not to mention that there were definitely more than five within range of her attacks, hiding within the trees.

The masses awaiting them at the camp would have to wait for now as there were many more enemies than the blonde had anticipated and while her arrow had taken out a couple of them, it wouldn’t be enough of its own. “Tera.” Kumi spoke out loud, the earth summon giving her a nod before charging in to the fray, her exceptional hand to hand combat fighting allowing her to kick and punch her way through a couple of the ninja heading their way, blocking and dodging with astounding finesse. Meanwhile Kumi had decided to increase their own forces further, Tera wouldn’t be able to hold them off alone in the front lines. If one of her stronger spirits were struggling then there was no way this girl next to her could have handled this alone, making her wonder yet again what had brought the blonde to such a dangerous place.

“You really should learn to pick your fights more carefully.” Kumi muttered, “Luck for you my comrades are kind hearted, so don’t worry, we’ll help you with your objective. However, it would be nice to know exactly what that is.” the vixen finished, looking directly towards the blonde’s eyes, hoping to read her true intentions from her very soul itself. However, her attention was severed as she heard Tera cry out, someone had managed to land a severe blow to the earth spirit. Tera seemed to still standing for now, she was one of Kumi’s more resilient guardians, but she was not invincible.

“I call upon you, Cordelia, guardian of the stars.” Kumi summoned her water spirit to her side in order to aid her comrade.

“You called, master?” The bubbly blue haired girl smiled, she held a sword made of flowing water that felt hard to the touch in each of her hands. Her pale blue eyes gazing at Tera fending off the ninjas as best as she could, but finding herself overwhelmed by their numbers. Cordelia pouted at the sight, “No fair! You called Tera to fight swordsman before me!?” she squeaked irritatedly.

“Never mind that, just go help her.” Kumi sighed, it wasn’t as if she had known they’d be fighting more than the original twelve when she had started this. The water spirit simply nodded, still obviously pouting as she too dashed into the fray at incredibly speed, slashing her swords around and making short work of the closest of the foes.

“I think it would be wise for me to join them as well, don’t keep us waiting too long.” a deep masculine voice echoed inside Kumi’s mind before the black fox followed suit, attacking the men as he saw fit, trying to leave openings for the spirits to get their strikes in easier.

Kumi watched the scene before her, she would prefer to be fighting by their side, but right now she needed to know just what reason the blonde had for taking on such a dangerous task alone. The nine-tailed vulpine stood with her arms crossed, waiting for a response.

Ready to Rumble, the Ninja Edition! (Job - Angelica/Kumi) Empty Re: Ready to Rumble, the Ninja Edition! (Job - Angelica/Kumi)

Post by Copycat 16th December 2018, 2:51 pm

Observing as one of the fox woman's accomplices rushed forward to dispatch more of their foes, Angelica was prepping to do the same. With one of her presumed comrades more close up, she couldn't take aim like she'd intended to do in order to get the drop on the ninjas. With Caladbolg though, she'd be a lot more formidable as an opponent, but mostly in close range. Still debating on whether she'd have to tap into one of her bloodline's secrets, the blonde picked up pace. Her walk progressed into a run to promptly aid the summon that was already doing her job for her. Lashing out with her requiped weapon in hand, a combination of power and just the general physical superiority of the weapon she called upon sufficed in dispatching them.

With a few ninjas managing to actually succeed in starting to swarm her, Angelica buckled her knees and sprung back, distancing herself from them as she raised her arm, priming her forearm back in preparation. The blonde started to take aim, though she was ultimately cut short by Kumi's decision to mention her intentions in being here. Rolling her shoulders a bit, the woman shifted her gaze over her shoulder, peering at her directly and lowering her weapon for the time being. She took notice of the water-based summon that had manifested, but didn't focus what she said on it. "I found a job requesting the aid of a Mage to deal with a large group of 'masked men' as he called them. So I went ahead and took it -- mainly to see if it wasn't a trap. Luckily I got to meet the guy who'd made the request, a noble. He seemed pretty distraught about the whole thing, so I decided to take it."

Angelica refused to mention how she didn't expect this many enemies to deal with. Nor did she mention that they had to kill them -- at least not yet. She peered at the group of ninjas before a moment, then snapped her attention back on over to the group currently up ahead. Regardless of whether Kumi seemed to support Angelica's endeavors behind the whole thing, the aforementioned blonde bent her upper body forward and slid her left foot back, before kicking off. She rushed forward, Caladbolg II in hand as she rushed the group once more. Right away she slashed into the chest of one, performing swift cuts and axe-like swings aimed to disarm them, occasionally kicking one into the other to disorient them. Of course, this didn't come without its risks.

She'd ended up dodging a bullet several times, all due to Kumi's aid. The barrier of sorts channeled around her aided in detering damage, and upon recognizing that, she used it to her advantage. Of course, the slayer made sure to keep watch on it, before she ended up throwing herself into something she wouldn't be able to handle directly. Her main focus, if it had really been paid attention to throughout the course of this, was to gear their focus towards her and less towards Tera, with the full intent of drawing their attention to her. And it was slowly starting to work, as every single ninja she managed to leave in not-so-fortunate condition meant another one would emerge from the contours of the trees, only to fall like the rest of the other novice-tiers (white) and occasional intermediates (red) they were dealing with right now.

Some of them, on the other hand, were starting to retreat, and it was mostly the crimson-clad ninja that they had to put up with. Drawing her arm back when it was free from swinging at the others, Angelica took aim, allowing Caladbolg II to noticeably narrow out and become slightly longer. Converting it to its projectile form, she sent it darting forward at intense speeds, allowing the blurring weapon to thrust into one of the fleeing crimson-clads. Following that, Angelica pointed at the same guy, letting loose another onslaught of light waves that finished his accomplices. At that point, all of the novice-level ninja had been taken down, with half of the crimsons in the same case. Stepping forward, the blonde detected a few more up ahead, but too far off and seeming to grow more distant. They seemed to be fleeing back towards their camp.

Yanking Caladbolg II free from one of the downed men, she allowed it to widen out and shorten itself once more, keeping her back to Kumi for the time being. Mainly so that she wouldn't get blindsided, though. Feeling a sense of uncertainty with how the job would sit with the helpful stranger, the blonde let out a heavy sigh and turned upon her heels, settling her sights upon her now that the ninja weren't that close. "As I was saying earlier, my employer requested me to get back what was stolen -- a tome of sorts, and added that my job is to kill anyone from their organization that got in my way. So if you aren't willing to go to that extent then well...." She goes silent, mostly just awaiting Kumi's answer, similar to how the vixen had done the same to her.

Ready to Rumble, the Ninja Edition! (Job - Angelica/Kumi) Empty Re: Ready to Rumble, the Ninja Edition! (Job - Angelica/Kumi)

Post by Pokomon 16th December 2018, 4:53 pm

Kumi thought on the girl's words, so she was here on a job. Well, in that case it was of utmost importance that the blonde kept to her word and did as she set out to do, failure was not an option in the vixen's eyes. Should one take on a contract they must fulfil their part of the deal without hesitation. As she watched the young woman fight Kumi concluded that she showed true potential, not quite as magically strong as herself, but still very adept at what she could do. Still, the vulpine couldn't help but feel that the blonde wouldn't be able to handle this job alone, she could feel so many enemies still lurking further into the forestry. Honestly, if they had met under the same circumstances a month ago Kumi wouldn't have even jumped in to help her, let alone be considering ensuring she finished the job as intended. Luckily for the blonde, the vixen didn't overly feel like having to endure through Soul and Zephyrs constant whining and complaints if she were to leave the young woman and force her to fight alone.

"We'll help you with your task."
Kumi sighed, thinking hard on the girl's words. She was sent to kill anyone that intercepted her path. Well if that were the case, it would be wrong to leave their enemies simply unconscious. One by one she went around to each of the white and red clothed people that lay on the ground, laying a hand on them and draining them of their life essence. It was a quick and painless way to go, not a gift the vixen generally gave to her foes, however, in this case she would make an exception. While these men and women had strayed from the path of light, they were just blindly following orders of their superiors, they were not the ones to blame for the stolen tome.

As Kumi made her rounds to those knocked out her summons and familiar were continuing to fight at the treeline's edge. Tera was breathing heavily, struggling to keep up now, she had taken a few hits here and there between her own punches. While she was battered and bruise she continued to stand strong, one of Kumi's most perseverant guardians, she refused to admit defeat. Often Tera would choose to rather take a finishing blow that would send her back to the spirit realm she came from rather than go back before her injuries proved to be too much for her. Still her injuries were starting to take their toll on her body, she knew she could only last so much longer without aid or rest. Cordelia had noticed this as well.

"Tera, go back. You need to rest." She stated bluntly, her usual bubbly, happy-go-lucky tone turned serious. The water spirit's body flowed through the air, moving so fast she appeared to teleport behind the earth spirit, blocking an attack that no doubt would have struck Tera if she hadn't been there to intercept before countering with her own attack, impaling the masked soldier with her sword of solid but flowing water. The earth spirit grimaced, throwing a punch to knock out another in front of her, refusing to give up.

"I've still got plenty of fight in me, I'm not about to just give up so easily."
Tera huffed, lifting her right leg and swinging her body around in a fluid motion till her foot connected with one of the red cloth covered cultists.

Kumi's ears twitched as she overheard the guardians arguing while she continued to drain the life out of the men they had left lying on the ground, causing the vixen to swear under her breath. She was upset with herself for not noticing Tera's current condition, the earth spirit was well beyond her limits. "Tera go, send Rai to fight with us instead and go and see Alina, she will tend to your wounds." The vulpine commanded, not wishing to see her friend in any more pain than she already was. The earth spirit let out a small 'tch' sound but did as she was told, disappearing into thin air, causing some of the attackers to jump back a bit in shock. A few moments later another appeared in her place, a man with the features of a blue, black and yellow lion. Upon doing so all those he considered allies felt a strange feeling, a nice warm tingle allowing his friends to move far faster than before.

"Geez, what a mess you lot have made here."
Rai jeered before sending a bolt of lighting towards the nearest enemy, instantly striking him down on the spot. His red eyes scanned the area, till he spotted the blonde girl, "So she's the one that started this, I see." Without a moment of hesitation he dashed towards the young woman, punching a man nearby her with a fist full of lightning. "Hello there beautiful, I don't believe we've met, name's Rai." he inquired with a small bow before preparing to return to fighting alongside her.

"Ugh..." Cordelia grunted, irritated that she had to fight alongside him. The water spirit hated him with a fierce passion, but for now she had a job to do, so she would leave her insults for another time.

Ready to Rumble, the Ninja Edition! (Job - Angelica/Kumi) Empty Re: Ready to Rumble, the Ninja Edition! (Job - Angelica/Kumi)

Post by Copycat 17th December 2018, 7:54 am

Hearing the woman's response brought a sense of relief over Angelica, but she kept it hidden behind a stalwart nod and her usual, partially-chipper exterior. Considering she probably would've erupted in fury (not literally, of course) if the intention behind helping was lack of faith in her own capabilities, the outcome was surprisingly positive on both ends. Not wanting to keep the fox woman and her companions waiting, or seem to be like dead weight however, Angelica decided to push the extra mile now that she assured they were both kind of in this for the long haul. And what better way to do that then by showing some more of her worth?

'They've got quite the numbers, but they're not all that resilient.' Taking note of that, Angelica opened her other hand up slightly, allowing a white, amorphous shape to make itself apparent upon the base of her palm. Wrapped in a golden glow and a blue, vortex-like coil of sorts, it thinned out and donned the shape of a sword with a wide handguard. 'Drawing' Durandal this time around, Angelica held it within her left hand, while holding Caladbolg II in her right. Originally having to just rely on lunge and jab attacks or hope that she was distant enough from their enemies to cut them with the tip rather than the dull, spiral-esque shape of the weapon, she could now neutralize that weakness with Durandal, an actual sword.

Instead of taking the easier approach of granting herself more mobility, Angelica instead went in with the intention of empowering her physical hits. A lance, even a pseudo one like Caladbolg II could double as a piercing weapon and also a blunt one considering the general shape and nature of the weapon. Thus the dragon slayer tapped into one of the definitive traits of her heritage, and empowered herself with the strength of a lion. While there was no visible change in how her magical energy was flowing, there was a change in her physical force. Angelica lunged performing a brief zig-zag motion that allowed her to dart past the pair of spirits and then close the remaining distance between the not so far off enemies. With a gallant step forth of her right foot and a shift in the entirety of her body, the blonde lashed out full force with the blunt, gradually-narrowing side of the lance.

In one fell swoop, Angelica sent two among the rest of the remaining forces of crimson-cladden ninja barreling leftward, taking heavy damage from blunt force trauma. With a now noteworthy gap in strength between herself and their enemies, she could effectively take advantage of this drastic boots in strength without the concern of it being potentially countered by people of this tier. Rushing on forward, Angelica cleared out what were very few of the remaining forces with the aid of Rai, another one of Kumi's companions. The remaining enemies had tried to hold off their advance to the camp northward, but to no avail, as they'd either end up viciously finished off by either one of the parties. Either way, the way she chose to take them down was far from pleasant, seeing as it was apart of the job and all, and not to mention they'd of probably tried to do the same.

By the time they were done, Angelica of course was covered in wounds and bruises here and there, too. The protective shroud Kumi had granted her earlier had helped minimize a lot of damage she could've taken, though, and she knew that too. With the aid of Rai's presence, she could tell she was a little quicker than before, and decided to not take that for granted. Starting to head off northward, Angelica expected the small group behind to follow along. In any case, she wasn't going to wait for anything, and wanted to get to the camp before the people there got to her and co.

"No more than about... ten up ahead. They're a lot stronger though.. especially near the center of the camp, but I can't tell which of them it is!" Angelica called out behind her as she kept moving. It seemed that the camp was set up as about three tents half-surrounding a campfire, and positioned in front of a rundown, abandoned building easily about three stories tall, despite being the size of a traditional garage inside. Even far off from the destination, any onlooker could see that the interior was half-exposed, mostly due to missing wall and roof structure, with what little was there broken off in some areas and holes in others.

Once she was much closer, Angelica would start to engage the remaining coalition of a few crimson-clad ninja, along with the numerous remaining gold and platinum.

Ready to Rumble, the Ninja Edition! (Job - Angelica/Kumi) Empty Re: Ready to Rumble, the Ninja Edition! (Job - Angelica/Kumi)

Post by Pokomon 17th December 2018, 11:33 pm

Rai’s face dropped as he began to sulk at the blonde haired woman ignoring his attempts at flattery. The spirit of thunder and lightning was not often completely disregarded in such a manner, especially considering he was Kumi’s strongest guardian and was often thought of as a leader figure by most of the other spirits. Still he continued to fight, just with a mopey look on his face due to his disappointment at being so easily brushed off. Meanwhile Cordelia was trying to stifle her laughter as she watched the scene unfold, enjoying seeing Rai get knocked down a couple pegs, his ego honestly could do with a blow like that now and again in her opinion. Honestly, she found him to be incredibly obnoxious and was one of the few that resented him for having the most power out of all the guardians.

While her spirits were busy amongst themselves while simultaneously defending themselves, Kumi had managed to finish ending the lives of those they had first knocked out and was now making her way into the fray herself. However, she kept a close eye on the blonde woman, wanting to learn of her magical abilities, interestingly enough she noticed a small spike in her magical pressure, did she cast some invisible spell? The vixen wasn’t too sure exactly what she had done, but it seemed to have made her stronger as she threw her weapon with an astounding force.

Yes, she could definitely prove to be a useful ally, especially if she continued to grow stronger. Kumi thought to herself. She would make a fine addition to the little group she had been slowly putting together, but invitations would have to wait till they were done with their current mission. As the vixen finished draining the very life essence of her current victim she looked around to notice that the small group seemed to have managed to completely wipe all the trash that had been sent to fight them. The blonde stranger already seemed keen to continue her objective, heading off without a word, to which Kumi had to smile a bit, she may be a human but she was definitely similar to the vulpine in some aspects that was for certain. “Cordelia, you may rest now, send Flint in your stead.” Kumi commanded as she began to follow the blonde woman.

The water spirit nodded, although looked a little annoyed as she seemed to think she was fine to continue, still she trusted Kumi’s commands were for the best. After a few moments a smallish boy appeared in her place, his long reddish orange hair tied up in a ponytail with a few blue strands free to frame his face. He followed wordlessly, hands in his pant pockets, Rai and Soul trailing just behind. Kumi felt out towards the camp as they walked along, it seemed the young woman was correct, those further ahead would prove to be far more difficult to deal with than their minions, but that was usually the case with these sorts of cults.

As they drew nearer Kumi could eventually make out their figures amongst the rundown buildings they had made their base. From what she could tell the power and strength she could feel was stronger amongst those adorning the platinum outfits, the colour system must have been their way of ranking their members, she counted six of them in total. Still Kumi was fairly certain they posed little threat to herself, her allies however, while strong, might struggle a bit. She would need to keep an eye out for them. Before she could even warn the blonde to be careful, she had already rushed into battle, causing the vixen to sigh, well at least she showed spirit she chuckled to herself, shaking her head slightly before leaping into the fray herself, her spirits and soul not far behind.

Kumi decided not to hide her true power anymore, if she wanted the blonde to respect her she would have to put on a bit of a show. Choosing to take on the closest of the platinum clad ninjas she sent out a small ball of bright blue spiritual energy, the colour matching her current aura. However, the spell wasn’t enough to completely finish this one off to which Kumi pulled an annoyed face briefly before holding her hands out together. Her left  was opened slightly as if she was holding something in it, while her right hand had her palm flat against the other before swiping it to the right, forcing her aura to take shape, forming near instantly into a katana of spiritual energy. The vixen now armed, forced her aura forwards at such an intense speed she appeared to teleport in front of her opponent, stabbing him directly into the heart with her katana. While there were no physical wounds or blood, the platinum ninja collapsed, his life force drained into Kumi’s sword. The fox maiden then began waltzing towards the next closest platinum clothed cultist, her magical energy starting to spike as she felt the tingle of Soul beginning to bind his spirit to her own causing the vixen to smirk. This was just about to get a whole lot easier.

The black fox had been busy, helping Blaze and Rai by acting as a distraction more than anything else while they fought. However, he wasn't completely powerless, as he began sending a small thread like string of his own spirit towards three of his selected allies, Rai, Kumi and the mysterious blonde stranger, binding himself to them. This would grant them a boost to any spells cast, allowing them to finish off their targets even faster, while simultaneously starting to heal some of their wounds, their cells repairing themselves at an incredibly rapid rate.

In the meantime Rai and Blaze had been fighting side by side, their electric and fire punches, allowing them to somewhat easily take down most of the golden clad ninjas that defended the base. This left the golden haired woman to deal with what remained of the gold and crimson ninjas. Once the blonde was done with her current targets they would only have a handful of the strongest of the clan left to eliminate before they could search for the stolen tome.

Ready to Rumble, the Ninja Edition! (Job - Angelica/Kumi) Empty Re: Ready to Rumble, the Ninja Edition! (Job - Angelica/Kumi)

Post by Copycat 19th December 2018, 12:17 am

Fixated on darting into their last quarrel, Angelica approaches the remaining enemies that she could detect. With Kumi starting to handle the platinum-clad one, she wouldn't have to worry much, although she would have to undoubtedly be careful with her actions against the foes she was up against. Allowing Durandal to return to her storage for the time being, the blonde thrusts her arm up and takes aim, pointing at one of her gold-clad foes. In a blink of light at the base of her fingertip, a total of six rays fire on towards the man, twisting and contorting amidst their path of motion as he made an effort to avoid them.

Allowing them to fly directly behind him to turn his attention elsewhere, the man swooped around, turning his back to her ultimately. Seeing this as an opportunity, Angelica lunged on forward, intent on taking him down for the count. Instead of having the chance however, two more gold-clad ninja came to his rescue, seeking to slash her across the chest. In one swift motion, the woman started darting to her left diagonally, but not before plunging Caladbolg II past the ninja's defenses following the slash. Before the other could land his attack, Angelica was quick to summon up more of the seemingly herculean strength of hers to quite literally slam the impaled ninja into the other one, seamlessly unsheathing her weapon from his chest.

Despite having taken a little more damage, Angelica continued onwards, her chest wound slowly healing in the meanwhile. With the aid of Kumi and her summons, and still a good amount of effort on Angelica's part, the entirety of the camp of ninja had been wiped out. Her already natural healing rate in the presence of light had been enhanced by Rai in the meantime, leaving the cut across the chest mostly a flesh wound by the time things were done. Surrounded by the bodies of the men she'd dealt with, Angelica peers around the vicinity, having dispersed her weapon to wipe some blood off of her clothes. Some of it was hers, but most of it seemed to be the people they just finished up with.

Sure enough, the search doesn't take very long. After looking through their belongings within the rundown building she pulls the tome from a small rucksack full of other goods, making sure it's intact. Not bothering to look inside, the female tucked the book inside her cloak and stood up, approaching Kumi. Once she's about two meters away from her she flashes her usual, confident and casual grin.

"You have my gratitude for the assistance. And you seem genuine enough so -- my name's Angelica. Angelica Solhart. What's yours?" The blonde states, before extending her hand out in friendly welcoming.

Ready to Rumble, the Ninja Edition! (Job - Angelica/Kumi) Empty Re: Ready to Rumble, the Ninja Edition! (Job - Angelica/Kumi)

Post by Pokomon 19th December 2018, 1:05 am

The vixen had managed to easily overpower the remainder of the platinum clad opponents dashing from one to the other as she cut and thrust her way through their bodies, draining each and every one of them of their entire life force. As soon as the battle was seemingly over she dismissed her summons, Flint bowed to the group prior to vanishing, while Rai simply folded his arms, disappointed it hadn't been much of a real challenge before he too disappeared, returning to the world of the guardians. Leaving only Kumi, Soul and Angelica behind to search for the tome. As they began looking around Kumi and the black fox began discussing things between themselves internally.

"She shows great potential." Soul's masculine voice echoed through the vixen's head.

"Indeed she does and her magic is rather interesting." Kumi replied to the black tod who was sniffing about.

However, the blonde proved to be quite able, finding the tome in a rucksack in nearly no time at all, giving the foxes little time to discuss matters further between themselves before she introduced herself. Kumi looked curiously at the girl's outstretched hand, blinking once before genuinely smiling and reaching out to shake hands. "Kumi." The vixen answered simply, a nickname gifted to her by the Joyans she had first met upon entering this world. She didn't have, or didn't know of any other name, so it was short and sweet. Now, that she had fought beside her she could understand why Zephyr was so inclined to have Kumi help the girl. No doubt she would make for a fine ally in times to come. As her cool hand fell back to her side she would continue to smile sweetly in the hopes to appear friendly.

"Miss Angelica, I hope I am not being too forward but recently I have been putting together a little team of sorts. So far we're nothing overly special, it's just a couple other mages and myself, but I think you'd make for a fine addition. I think perhaps you'd even make for a fine leader in due time. What do you say?" Kumi pressed, hoping that the taste for the power of leadership would entice her to take up the role. She herself could probably handle the position if need be, bossing around the humans would indeed make for some fun, but she honestly didn't feel like it was her place. Besides there really was something about this young woman that gave off a flair of nobility or something similar, like she was meant to lead. Regardless, Kumi would happily give the position to her should she prove worthy of the role.

Ready to Rumble, the Ninja Edition! (Job - Angelica/Kumi) Empty Re: Ready to Rumble, the Ninja Edition! (Job - Angelica/Kumi)

Post by Copycat 19th December 2018, 4:51 am

Offering a firm handshake of comradery, Angelica retracted her hand about a moment or two after the gesture. Kumi had seemed to establish trustworthiness in a very short period of time, which was an icebreaker to the blonde, whom would otherwise remain wary but hide it. It was a shame, seeing as Angelica probably wouldn't stick around in Shirotsune much longer. She had only temporarily visited and already seemingly met someone worth sticking around. As the blonde felt ready to get a move on to get her reward for recovering the tome in tip-top condition, Kumi's words drew her attention and ultimately kept the woman idle.

Initially, the mention of a team wasn't all that interesting, though between Kumi's ability to gain her trust so quickly had only made her assume that it was kind of the same case with the others she gathered. The offer of leadership also drew Angelica in, mainly because it'd be a pride booster. If she didn't necessarily have to feel like she was being looked down on by someone, she wouldn't end up letting that kind of thing get to her head -- and more importantly, her pride itself. Her eyes visibly light up with interest at this revelation of Kumi's, and after trying to push away her visible excitement, she answers.

".. I usually don't mess with teams, but sure. If you guys need a leader you're looking at her." She remarks confidently, resting both hands upon her own hips and looking proud. Angelica had high hopes in the other mages being as trusted as Kumi, so she went ahead and put her faith in. It wasn't like it couldn't hurt to associate herself with other people for once, since for the most part she just spent her time doing jobs and being a loner anyways. It was a new window into something better, depending on how well it ended up going.

"Do you guys have a meeting place or anything yet, like a base of operations?"

Kumi smiled, happy that the young woman would be joining her little 'gang' of sorts, to be quite blunt the team was sort of haphazardly put together. However, the vixen was confident that all of them had the potential for greatness and would make worthy comrades to have by her side in the times to come. Still she was caught off guard by the question about a base or meeting place, "Well, to be perfectly honest, I am planning to meet up with them soon in Lavanitir Port City, I had a little errand to run by myself." She paused for a moment to wink at Soul before continuing.

"We don't really have a main base or anything as it's just thre- four of us now. You're more than welcome to join me in meeting with them. However, if you're busy and you happen to have an iLac we could exchange numbers to easily remain in contact with one another." the vixen finished, pulling out her dark pink covered lacrima powered mobile communication device and waving it slightly in the air. As she finished speaking her golden eyes rested on the tome in Angelica's hands. "Ah before we get too sidetracked though, I think we should go ensure you complete your job and receive proper payment." Kumi giggled, nearly forgetting what they had come here to do, something very uncharacteristic of her.

OOC: If you have an iLac you can end with exchanging numbers and going to get your reward, if not just end on leaving together to get the reward.

Lavanitir Port City huh? Angelica had found her way to that place once before... but aside from that? She didn't stick around long enough to really get a feel for the place. If that was the meeting place, though, Angelica had a feeling that would be the next place she planned on going. Offering an acknowledging bob of her head at the mention of the city and the errand that Kumi had to run, the slayer reaches up to adjust the collar to her cloak. The mention of an iLac causes realization to lapse upon her facial features in the form of brief surprise.

"Oh right, I should probably work out getting one of those. Maybe I'll have one by the time I meet you guys there. Hopefully." She remarked. Somehow based on that slight dimissiveness in her tone on the subject it was clear as day she probably wouldn't have one by then. After all, Angelica preferred to just be upfront and around when she was needed. Though she could see the benefits in getting such a device... she just needed to look into how she could do just that. For the time being though, Angelica nods her head at the comment regarding the tome.

"Yeah, I want to get back to the employer first. He was offering some pretty nice armor and a good monetary reward for the service. I'll see if I can arrange for him to give you the same deal, seeing as you helped and all." Angelica stated, before turning on her heel with a casual swivel of her frame. She started to head on off into the distance, leaving behind the camp in their wake to go get the much-desired reward.

    (exit unless stopped.)
