Tome Retrieval [C RANK JOB REQUEST][SOLO]

Just as the dark mage deflected Daichi's water razors, he surrounded both of his arms with dark magic, attempting to strike Daichi twice. However, Daichi's quick thinking allowed him to dodge the first strike. The second strike simply missed him so Daichi grabbed the guy's arm and threw him over with his full strength, causing the dust below him to fly out. After this, Daichi jumped out of his opponent in order to increase the distance between him and his opponent, taking a deep breath as he waited for the guy to get back up. The pain on his right waist started to disappear which made Daichi feel relieved. Now he can freely move once again and attack with full force. "You're pretty strong there, pesky brat. But that's not enough to take me down!" The dark mage got back to his feet, but before he could do anything, Daichi ran to him and prepared to strike, but before he could, the dark mage surrounded both his arms with shadows, preparing to attack Daichi with full force.

However, before he could connect, Daichi stopped and activated his best defensive spell: Water Dragon's Scales. With his shielding spell on, he managed to block his first two attacks which seemed to have dealt one D-rank damage each. The next one simply missed due to Daichi stepping aside. The last two attacks broke through Daichi's defense which greatly surprised him. If he didn't activate his scales spell, he would've been knocked out right now.

After his scales spell disappeared, Daichi felt that he was ready to use his sharp claws spell since its already past its cooldown. He didn't want to waste this opportunity so he stepped out of the dark mage's range, turning both of his arms into water just like he did a while ago. The dark mage stared at him with much surprise, dazed as he watched the water form something similar to the arms of a water dragon. "Now... I guess I'm done playing with you. I'm going to end it right here - right now!" Daichi bellowed afterwards, slamming both of his newly formed claws to the ground causing the rocks around to fly due to the force. "You will fall from my Sharp Claws!" Daichi rushed to the guy as fast as he could, ready to strike him with his newly-formed dragon claws.

The dark mage managed to dodge the first strike, but he was caught off guard and got hit directly from Daichi's second attack. This punched a wound on his chest causing blood to come out. Before Daichi could land more strikes, the dark mage summoned a wall of darkness which nullified the strikes, protecting the opponent from harm. "You're REALLY starting to piss me off, asshole." Daichi said in frustration caused by his last three attacks missing. This guy's really good in defense, but if Daichi manages to make him use all of his defensive spells, he'll definitely fall victim to his sharp claws. It's time to end this, right now.

Before Daichi could land more strikes, the dark mage pushed him away by forcing his palm to Daichi's chest, pushing him back with the darkness gathered between his palm and Daichi. This spell didn't really deal much damage though Daichi was pushed back for quite a distance, about four meters from his opponent. Just as he was getting up, the dark mage slowly swung both of his arms, causing darkness to surround them and take form of deadly drills. "You've pushed me to this point... Now, you shall witness my most powerful spell! Dark Matter!" The dark mage shot the two dark drills forward, both of them ready to hit Daichi. "Shit... I can't use my Scales spell..." Daichi cursed, annoyed by the fact that his scales spell is still going through cooldown. All he could do now is run away from this spell or else he might be put in a dire situation. The tendrils looked really deadly, obvious by the fact that whenever they passed by a tree, they shredded through the wood. If that hits Daichi, it's gonna be a session of pain.

Just as Daichi was trying to avoid the spell, he found out what its weakness was. Every spell had a maximum range and this is not an exception. With this thought in his mind, Daichi ran as fast as he can from the spell hoping that it will run out of power and disappear. And, much to his relief, the spell wasn't able to catch up, dispelling as it reached about ten meters. "W-what the hell! How did you do that!" The dark mage kept cursing afterwards, definitely feeling as annoyed as Daichi is right now. "You're just out of luck. Now, shall I end this battle?" Daichi taunted, honing his claws as if intimidating the dark mage. He ran straight at him and attempted to strike with both hands to which the dark mage managed to dodge, but this put him in a bad position for Daichi has already prepared his most powerful spell: Aqua Drive.

As Daichi turned his body to water, the dark mage tried to stop him by shooting a dark projectile. However, Daichi simply moved aside, something he can easily do since he is, as of this moment, water. "It's time for your defeat. Aqua Drive!" Daichi turned himself into a projectile afterwards, striking the dark mage directly, forcing the dark mage to be launched with him. Just as the spell was about to reach its maximum range, Daichi, while using aqua drive, punched the dark mage through a boulder causing heavy damage. "So this is a dragon slayer..." The dark mage thought to himself, accepting his defeat at the hands of the young slayer. The force of the spell broke his leg so in a sense, there is no way for him to get back up. Now that he's defeated, Daichi grabbed the second tome. "You chose the wrong thing to do. And that is fighting me. If you simply gave the tome from the start, you may still be standing right now. Learn from this mistake." Daichi said as he walked out, his mind set on only one more thing - and that is taking down the final mage in order to retrieve the third tome.

Exactly as he defeated the dark mage, the sun rose up which made Daichi feel his win even more. Daichi has triumphed against darkness, and so, the sun rose. Wow, that definitely explains his situation today. Well, setting all that nonsense aside, it's time to look for the third and final mage - a mage who will definitely give Daichi a lot of trouble. That last opponent has one thing that definitely puts Daichi in a disadvantage - and that one thing is lightning magic, the worse of the weaknesses water dragon slayer magic has. However, Daichi has created one spell to counter this weakness so he'll definitely use it once he gets the right chance. But for now, he must focus on finding that mage. He's got two of the three tomes. Both of them were undamaged so his reward is still gonna be precise. Before he could start moving, he decided to take a small break and eat some of his snacks just because he felt rather hungry.

Once his break was done, he stood up and yawned, ready to search for the third and final enemy. The scent of the lightning mage led to the main town of Era. That guy must have disguised himself among the townsfolk, but no one could hide from a dragon slayer's sense of smell. Walking to the source of the scent, Daichi entered the gates that led to Era. Since it was still dawn, only a few people were outside, most of them being vendors fixing their shops. The houses were still unlit since most of the civilians were still asleep. However, if Daichi has to battle here, he has to be more careful to avoid any casualties or accidents involving innocent people and civilians who just happen to pass by.

After walking for quite some time, Daichi finally found his target - a large, buff man who seemed to have a lightning tattoo on his right shoulder. With just his looks alone, Daichi felt quite intimidated but this wasn't the time to fall back. He must defeat this guy if he ever wants to retrieve the tome. And to start his attempt, Daichi surrounded his arms with water, ready to use the same spell he did on the fire mage a while ago. "Wings of the Water Dragon!"

The guy didn't see it coming. Daichi hit him directly on the chest, pushing him back for some distance. When the lightning mage recovered from the attack, he was shocked to see Daichi, the man who messed around with them last night. "H-how did you find me?" The man said in utter shock, to which Daichi simply laughed off. "You were the last of the three I found. Your two allies are lying down inside the forest - and now, it's your turn to lie down." Daichi said as he prepared to attack the lightning mage, but in an instant, the lightning mage released a beam of electricity from his hand, punching a hole through a house's wall. Daichi managed to dodge it albeit with difficulty. A portion of his shirt was torn off due to the force of the lightning so he knew that he must be cautious when fighting him. The person inside the house that was struck checked to see what was happening, surprised to see two mages face to face in the middle of Era - the town where the Magic Council is located.

As the beam of lightning was released, Daichi took this as an opportunity to attack - transforming his body into water and running straight at the man, but he never knew that the guy was fast. Just as Daichi was about to strike, the lightning mage surrounded his fists with lightning and struck the dragon slayer hard, the shock of his fist coursing through Daichi's body. Afterwards, the lightning exploded, sending Daichi flying for a long distance. When he landed, he tried to get up, but his whole body was paralyzed. "Damn it!" Daichi exclaimed, definitely angered by the situation he is now. He can't move a muscle so there's no way he can dodge the lightning mage's spell, unless he manages to will himself to which can be incredibly difficult. At this moment, Daichi started to hate being a Water Dragon Slayer since he has nothing to do against mages like this, unless he manages to use that one spell he prepared...

Just as Daichi taught, the lightning mage took this as an opportunity to strike. He ran straight to Daichi who is left vulnerable, or in other words, an easy target. "You're done, dragon slayer." The lightning mage taunted, throwing his fist at Daichi. With sheer willpower, the young slayer managed to stop the fist, holding it with his hands despite the paralysis he felt. In reply to Daichi's block, the lightning mage sent his other arm at him, to which Daichi also blocked with his other hand. But Daichi knew he made a mistake because the lightning mage grinned when he got his hands on his fists. "This is the end." The criminal said, lifting his right leg up. It started to surround with electricity, ready to stomp at a weakened Daichi. He has nothing else to do but watch the man strike him hard, but for some reason, he knew that he wouldn't go down with this attack. "Lightning Strike!" The lightning mage shouted, slamming his foot directly on Daichi's head, stomping it to the ground with much force. If Daichi wasn't a dragon slayer, he would've been knocked out from this blow.

After the fatal hit, the lightning mage jumped up, assuming that he's one the battle. "You're not so tough as you say you are. Now, I shall take the two tomes back and -" Before the lightning mage continued, Daichi punched the ground, willing his body to get up. The paralysis effect has faded though his head still ached. Despite this, Daichi knew that he could still fight on as he normally would. Standing up straight, Daichi stared at his opponent with much intensity, his eyes definitely showing that he's not yet defeated.

He decided to use his most powerful C-rank spell, breath of the water dragon. The man stood in disbelief so he would be dazed if Daichi sent an incredibly fast beam of water at him. Using this opportunity, Daichi gathered water inside his lungs, preparing to release it. "Water Dragon's Breath!" Once it was done, Daichi exhaled with incredible force, causing a beam of pressurized water to launch from his mouth, hitting the lightning mage directly on the chest. Assuming that the lightning mage is still recovering, Daichi ran to him and prepared to strike a powerful punch, but in an instant, the lightning mage caught his fist and threw him away, blocking from an attack that could've knocked him out. "Don't you think this is over, shit head."

[OOC: The dices I rolled were for my opponent's attacks. I decided to ignore the blocks and just let them all hit (except for the two misses) since I've been blocking my opponent's attack for quite some time now. For this post, Daichi's just gonna get himself beat up.]

When the lightning mage blocked Daichi's attack, he threw Daichi as if he's just a sack of rice. Afterwards, he charged at him, grabbed him, and pummeled him good, dealing a lot of damage to the young slayer. Afterwards, the lightning mage stopped his assault and stepped back, waiting for the young mage to get up. When Daichi got on his feet, he couldn't see much since his vision started to blur mostly due to his exhaustion and the attacks the lightning mage landed on him. "Come on, slayer, I know you can do better than that!" The criminal taunted, charging at Daichi and sending him flying with one powerful spell. "I think I overestimated you, dragon slayer. You're just bullshit." Daichi felt angry when he heard this, but he couldn't do anything other than stand up and wait for another attack. But whatever the lightning mage has for Daichi, he'll manage to get up. A dragon slayer can take a lot of beating compared to how much any normal human can which definitely puts them above anyone in terms of physical attributes.

"You're still standing up? I'll give you some sleep pills - oh wait, let's call it pain pills!" The lightning mage said, releasing five lightning bullets headed straight to Daichi's location. Daichi managed to dodge two of them, but the other three landed straight at him, dealing more damage to his already weakened state. But despite the amount of beating he's been taking, Daichi continued to stand up, grinning as if he doesn't mind the pain. Seeing this as an insult, the lightning mage charged at Daichi, but at that instant, Daichi dodged his attack, jumped on top of him and used the spell he used against lightning mages: "Water Dragon's Touch." Daichi touched the guy's arms, forcing water to spread around his body. "W-what are you doing?" The lightning mage asked in annoyance, shaking Daichi off. He decided to surround himself with electricity, but he made a big mistake. Instead of just shocking Daichi, he shocked himself since the water around him conducted the electricity he exerted. "This battle is not yet over. You'll give me the tome right now or I'll finish you."

Daichi grinned as he watched the lightning mage try to dry himself up, taking this opportunity to plan his next attack. He took a glance around the things around him, and, much to his happiness, he found a water fountain. Running closer to the fountain, Daichi lowered his head and drank it empty, feeling a lot of vitality come back into his body. "That was a great drink... NOW I'M ALL GEARED UP!" Daichi shouted as he stared at the lightning mage who was glaring at him with a lot of anger. "You little prick! I'll shock you-" Before he could continue, the accidentally shocked himself once again, forgetting that he's soaked in water. But despite this, the lightning mage tried to attack desperately, ignoring the pain caused by shocking himself. Charging lightning around his body, he attacked Daichi with much force, causing both of them to be sent back. However, Daichi still stood up because he just took in a large amount of water but he got some second degree burns from the intensity of the lightning. The one who looked more damage was the lightning mage who attempted to endure his own attack just to strike Daichi, something he managed to do, though this will lead to his utter defeat.

Just as the lightning mage attempted another strike, Daichi stood up, gathering tons of water into his lungs. "This is the end for you, lightning head." Daichi said as he prepared his most powerful spell - his signature roar as other dragon slayers have as well. The lightning mage tried to jump to Daichi, who was still in mid air, in order to stop his attack, but he was too late. "Roar..." Daichi pressurized the water inside him, preparing to release it in a form of a powerful beam that has been known as his most powerful attack. "...of the Water Dragon!" Daichi bellowed much like a dragon roaring, releasing the roar in a form of a gigantic beam causing a loud explosion to echo throughout Era. Everyone around stared at the amazing roar, awed by its tremendous force. The lightning mage was sent crashing to the ground afterwards, defeating him once and for all. After this, Daichi walked to the lightning mage who was unconscious due to the damage done by the slayer's most powerful attack. Daichi grabbed the third and final tome from the defeated opponent, happy that it was still in one piece despite the force of his attacks. Exactly as he finished his job, a group of rune knights swarmed him, investigating the scenario.

After some time talking, Daichi convinced them that he wasn't doing anything bad and, instead, was doing something for a legal job. They took his name afterwards in order to inform the magic council of his power which might make him famous in the world. Daichi agreed knowing that this will bring him closer to his goal to be a wizard saint. But for now, he should return to Athos and give him back the tomes he retrieved from his three opponents who are now apprehended by the magic council.

-A FEW HOURS LATER-

Daichi went into the archive located near the magic council, finding Arthos and showing him the three tomes he delivered with no scratches or anything like that. "I knew you were someone I can rely on!" Arthos said as he took the three tomes, laying them in a safely guarded part of the archives. "You're Daichi, right? I'll remember that name." When Daichi heard this, he grinned at the archivist, laughing after a few moments. "You should - because that's the name of a future wizard saint." Daichi said, grinning with a lot of dignity. "I expect nothing less from a man like you." After this, Arthos gave Daichi his reward. The young slayer headed back to his guild afterwards, happy to finish a request and gain a lot of money for his rent.
