- Job Title: Infiltrating the Temple
Rank: B
Player Requirements: 4500 word requirement if solo. 7500 if more than one wizard. Must have at least 1 Rank B+ wizard in the group. At least one wizard must have completed the quest Finding The Link
Job Requirements: Reach the Ritual Room and defeat the boss(es)
Job Location: Spooky Woods
Job Description: Upon reaching the spooky woods you must take at least one post per wizard in the thread to find the entrance. The entrance rests on the side of a rather low cliff, and is shaped to look exactly like the landscape. Upon entering you see a cultist. If you’ve chosen to wear the robes from the previous quest, the cultist will believe you are a new member and lead you down to initiate you. Otherwise the cultist will attack you, as will every cultist from then on. Upon defeating enemies, you can either kill them all, or knock them out. While they have hoods, you can still see their faces, a mix of both male and female cultists.
As you enter and explore the cultist’s temple you’ll find there are several hallways and twelve rooms.
Rooms in the Temple:
Living Quarters: There are five of these rooms, each with five beds and chests. It isn’t well decorated and reminds one of a monastery and how they disconnect themselves from the material world.
Anointing/Initiation Room: A medium sized room with a pedestal in the center filled with what seems to be blood. Other than their ‘scripture’ which hovers above the pedestal with magic, and the banners holding their symbol, there is nothing odd about the room.
Preaching Room: A rectangular room with one end elevated slightly with an obsidian pulpit. There are no seats but markings that may be there to show where cultists must stand. You see seven seats on the elevated side.
Place of Worship: A circular room with four miniature waterfalls, the water appearing red with torches illuminating the room. There is a drawn circle where the cultists gather and worship in the ancient tongue. The center of the circle shows a skull, surrounded by symbols for death in nearly every language and age.
Room of Silence: An empty room with no decorations where cultists can go to when they need to meditate or pray.
Ritual Room: A large circular room with a ritual circle in the center. There is a single pedestal in the center of the circle and magical essence comes from it in waves. It’s purpose eludes you.
When you reach the ritual room the doors close behind you. Upon turning around you see the seven high cultists, all wearing their own unique outfits. They are surprised to see anyone who was not a cultist here, and they don't really care if your a legal wizard, neutral, or dark. They decide to remove you from the equation. Depending on how many wizards are in your current party, either one or two will stay behind to kill you.
After defeating the two high cultists, they will attempt to flee. You must check the corpses of the cultists you have slain, or knocked out depending what path you chose, and on one of them is a page that is written in that ancient language again. You send it to the scientist to decipher.
The Seven High Cultists:
The High Cultists are ranked. Lower numbers being weakest, and higher numbers being the strongest.
1. Cloaked Boy
He is a quiet individual, and only speaks if he’s needed to. Whether it’s because he’s shy or some other reason is unclear. If your character is a girl he’ll refrain from making eye contact. He appears to make attempts to befriend his summoned spirits.
2. Snarky Woman
She has a snark attitude along with the calm and cool voice and approach. With this she has found she can tug at other’s emotions and thoughts like a puppet’s strings. She finds nearly everything you say to be foolery and weak unless you agree with her completely. She takes pleasure in watching others react in emotion towards her and her words.
3. Charming Man
The lady killer. Master of charming and flattery, he is able to win nearly everyone over. He reads women’s emotions and thoughts and determines the precise approach to take with them. At the same time no words or insults seem to effect him. Any attempts only end up with him grinning or smirking at the attempt.
4. Silent Assassin
The silent one. She never speaks at all, her face like ice. She shows no emotion and seems to be able to vanish faster than you can blink. It is clear that she is an assassin of sorts and should be approached with care.
5. Masked Figure
Cloaked and masked, this man only speaks when he grows impatient. At the same time, his words carry much weight, meaning, and purpose. It is impossible to read him or determine his skills, as his cloak blocks your view from seeing his figure and gear.
6. Young Mistress
While she has a cute and pretty appearance, and while the way she speaks, acts and other means, makes her appear like a cute girl you'd see in any old school or town, her knowledge on magic, weapons, techniques, and just about anything, as well as the blade she carries and the look in her red eyes, tells you she's most likely older than she appears. And despite her childish actions and words, she's actually more mature than you'd expect.
7. Master Cultist
Seemingly the wisest of the seven cultists, as well as the one whose words hold most weight. He appears to be bored with anything that doesn’t seem to be a challenge and is annoyed with small talk. His arrogance may not be entirely in vain and he should be thought of as a dangerous opponent.
Enemies:
Weak: Worshipers who have joined the cult to worship death and escape their lives. They are robed in simple black garments with a symbol on the front of the robe. Each possess daggers or hatchets. Worshipers are able to deal rank B damage with each hit, and are able to throw their weapons at you with skilled accuracy before drawing another one. x12 worshipers.
Normal: Followers who have joined the cult because they truly believe in what they are being told. They wear robes that are for official cultists, not initiates, with the cult symbol on it. They possess some necromancy skills, able to summon minions to fight for them. These undead minions are able to deal half rank B in damage and there can be up to two undead minions at a time. The cultists have daggers and can deal up to rank B damage.
Strong: Passionate Cultists who go above and beyond to learn all they can about death and the many gods of death, and do anything to please them. These men carry either rapiers or one handed scythes and can deal x2 rank B damage, able to hit multiple times and are very accurate. The cultists can cast an illusion spell, and are able to use a spell that strikes all wizards for 5% of their health in damage. They are also able to summon a single undead servant to fight for them. These undead possess chain armor as well as wield a steel sword. These undead warriors deal rank B damage and take 3 rank B attacks to kill. The cultist takes 7 rank B hits to be defeated. x5 cultists.
Boss: (If quest is taken solo, only the woman remains and fights)
Woman: Health: Same rank as highest wizard.
Partial 1: The first change in her take over is that she grows or sprouts horns. These horns increase her speed and strength.
Partial 2: The second change in her take over is when she sprouts demon wings. These wings are made of her own flesh and bone, allowing her to fly as well as strike with them.
Partial 3: The third change in her take over transforms her skin into a shadowy like substance. She can choose to appear as shadow, or as human flesh, but either way physical attacks will lose effect on her in this state.
Partial 4: The fourth change in her take over is her eyes, changing to a glowing orange that grants her fire abilities as well as paralyzes any who glance at them.
Abilities: All damage dealt by physical attacks is reduced by 25%. With every melee attack dealt, attacker is harmed by 5 points of damage. When flying she is fast, but on the ground she relies on brute strength, which she has in demon form. She is immune to fire attacks.
Attacks: Claw Strike- She can use her claws on her hands or wings to strike you, dealing rank B damage. Shockwave- Using her wings she can push the air away from her, pushing all wizards away as well, cancelling any attack used against her. Infernal blast- She can create and control fire, using multiple types of such attacks that deal your rank in damage as well as apply burn upon hit, dealing 5 points of damage for three posts. Banshee Scream- When she is halfway defeated she will start to use her banshee scream, dealing x2 of your rank in damage, with a chance to immobilize all wizards for one post.
Boy:
Summons a personal Wraith to fight for him.
Jack Wraith: 164 Health. 20 damage output.
Description: Seemingly a young teenager with zipped shirt with a black trench coat and pants. He has dull blue hair and ghost like eyes, and wields two thin swords. Shadows stretch out like hands from him. He appears bored most of the time, believing you aren’t really a challenge. Even during an intense fight his expression changes to nothing but slight concentration. If defeated he has a blank face as if he doesn’t really care.
Abilities: Jack is able to use the shadows to teleport, and can control the shadows, sending black hands towards his foes to grab and immobilize them.
Attacks: Shadow Grip- Fires out a hand of shadow that grips the target and immobilizes them for a single turn, allowing him a free attack. Stealth Strike- Vanishes into the shadows and appears from an unexpected direction, striking with ferocity and precision. Depletes health by 15 points, regardless of armor. Blink- Vanishes instantly, as if he wasn’t there, only to appear the instant after and strikes at you. Deals 20 points of damage and ignores half of your defense. Fury- Jack’s speed increases and releases a multitude of strikes. Three attacks land for certain, dealing 20 points of damage, ignoring half of your defense. Only used if his health hits 90.
Reward: 12,000 jewel. Unlocks the quest: Thine Gods Do Answer

Re: Infiltrating the Temple
Her black robes fluttering in the wind, Leona walked into Spooky Forest with the bare minimum of equipment, which was to say just a knife hidden in her boot and clothing covered by the robe from the well. Her Argent Gloves would be too recognizable and a backpack would also stand out. To stand a chance of passing for a convert, she had to leave all of her distinctive equipment back at Silver Wolf Guild Hall. Leona was used to going into battle with all her usual gear. This would be a tough job.
Another strike against her was the fact that she was a former Rising Star. Her celebrity status would surely be a detriment to a job of this nature. She would just have to find the entrance to the temple and hope for the best. It was strange having to work with just a knife and her clothes. She hoped that there was some gear she could "borrow" inside the temple.
Leona listened out for any signs of trouble. She did not hear anything yet. No wolves. No killer plants. No running zombies.
Certain that she was not in danger for the moment, she continued on her way to the temple. To get in, she first had to find the entrance. Where could it be? Maybe looking around the cliff would help.
Leona began a careful search of the cliff. She had to watch out for traps or hostile animals. There might also be cultists on patrol to watch out for the police or Rune Knights. Still, Leona pressed on. She needed to find out what the cult was up to and stop it.

Re: Infiltrating the Temple
Leona kept probing the base of the cliff for the entrance. She had a feeling that it would not be too far up because it would be flagrantly obvious to police and Rune Knights. The cult thrived on secrecy and making an entrance on such a visible point would be foolish. She kept looking while being sure to watch for traps, sentries, and wild animals looking for a meal.
Leona had forgotten just how vulnerable she felt without all her familiar gear. She felt like a novice mage all over again. At least she had her magic and her knife for self-defense. The blonde kept walking until she came across a subtle indentation that was flush with the bottom of the cliff. That drew her attention.
Leona walked over and gently tapped on it. It felt different from the stone surrounding it. She barely contained a shriek when the door opened and a robed man was gazing at her.
"Hello stranger. I see that you are wearing one of our robes." He greeted her. Leona had to recover from her surprise and fast. She took a quick breath and spoke.
"Yes. Yes." Leona answered.
"Tell me, stranger. What brings you this far out?" He asked.
"I... I tried to join a magic guild a few weeks ago so that I could earn some money and make a living. I tried to join, but since I didn't have all the right connections, they turned me down flat." Leona explained her reason for coming out here.
"I see. That is a compelling reason. Others find reasons to turn away, but we... we gladly accept all who are willing to serve a greater cause." He said to her. He opened the door wider and beckoned her to come inside.
"Come now, stranger. We will accept you with open arms. Follow me into your new home." He urged. Leona did as she was told and followed him inside. He shut the door behind her and guided her down a stone hallway lit by burning torches. At the end of the hall was a thick wooden door. Behind it was a large foyer festooned with black banners depicting the same red symbol as the tattoo on the cultist in Beanstalk Forest.
"You come at a good time. Tonight we initiate new members into our growing family." He said to her before going back down the hallway to watch for new arrivals. Leona had to get to work. The cult was not going to helpfully twiddle its thumbs and stand around while she discovered their plans. Her disguise would only last for so long. She had to act before she was revealed to be an imposter.

Re: Infiltrating the Temple
Choosing to go down a hallway to her left, Leona began to explore the temple. She was looking for clues concerning their master plan, which promised to change Earthland for the worst. Leona slowly and purposely walked about to get a look at the temple without attracting undue attention, eventually ending up peering into a room that looked like living quarters for the members.
The room had five wooden beds that were very simple. Each bed had a wooden chest placed at the foot of it. Aside from the beds and chests, the quarters themselves were austere. There were no other decorations, no personal items on display, nothing to denote the personality of any of the cult's members. The aesthetic reminded Leona of a monastery, but instead of feeling a sense of spirituality or detachment from worldly concerns she only felt a sense of foreboding.
Leona calmly walked down a hallway to the right of where she entered and came across a medium-sized room with a pedestal in the center. Seeing no one currently occupying the room, the blonde walked inside to investigate. Maybe some clues were hidden in there.
Leona's attention immediately gravitated to the pedestal, so she walked over to it. There was a medium-sized book hovering over it as if held aloft by magic. She decided against touching it in case it was trapped in some way. It might harm non-believers with a dangerous spell or it might simply sound an alarm that would bring angry cultists rushing into the room. Leona opted to leave the book where it was and looked at the pedestal itself.
It looked like it was filled with something that resembled blood. She was not sure if it was human blood or animal blood, but it was definitely a red liquid. Leona looked at the banners prominently displayed in the room. They were similar to the ones in the main hallway but were otherwise unremarkable. Finding nothing of interest, she left the room and went looking for clues elsewhere.
Leona went back into the main hall and kept to the right as she looked into the next room. It was another living quarters, but this one was currently occupied by cultists. She moved on and walked to the left, which was another living quarters that was also occupied. She kept to the left and entered another room; it was elevated on one side and featured a prominent obsidian pulpit that looked down on anyone who entered. This was an area worth investigating.

Re: Infiltrating the Temple
The mage quickly walked into the room like she belonged there. Inside was the obsidian pulpit that first drew Leona's attention. It was perched in the elevated section of the room and commanded the attention of those standing below it, a design feature which was likely intentional. It was a cult, after all. Leona hazarded a step up to it and found nothing out of the ordinary on it.
There was no book of scripture, no sermon notes, no nothing. She quickly got back down before she was noticed... on the way down from the elevated area she noted odd markings on the floor that had to be of some significance. She deduced that they indicated where the rank-and-file members were supposed to stand during sermons. On the elevated side were seven chairs that were most likely reserved for higher-ranking members of the group. They were not ornate chairs, but their very presence indicated that they were not for ordinary members.
Leona looked around one last time and found nothing that could be helpful, so she left the room and entered the hallway to continue her search.
The room directly across from the preaching room was yet another living quarters that featured the same spartan design aesthetic of its predecessors. Again it was in use by cult members. Leona kept going and found another room, but this one was completely empty. There was nothing in it, not even cult banners. The blonde was compelled to investigate.
Once she entered its purpose made a little more sense. It was supposed to be a place where meditation on the beliefs of the cult could occur. It was deliberately bare so that there would be no distractions, no obstacles to finding enlightenment.
"Are you using this room?" A male voice asked. Leona's heart skipped a beat or two. Had she been exposed as an imposter?
"No. Not at all. Go ahead." Leona answered, quickly leaving the room so that the person could use it. She kept her eyes straight ahead and passed by the cultist, who was already sitting on the floor. She respectfully closed the door and went on her way before the man got curious and tried to stop her.
The blonde's heart was still beating as she made her way to the room across from the meditation room. She looked inside and spotted yet another living quarters. This was the fourth such room she had found during her self-guided tour of the place. How many cult members were here? Based on the number of beds in the temple multiplied by number of rooms, she estimated that there were at least twenty cult members in the place at any given time.
She did not hang around to take a census because every moment she lingered in sight of them increased her chance of being exposed as an imposter and set upon by angry robed people. She kept going and came across another circular room, but this one was far different from the meditation room. One of its most distinctive features was that it had four miniature waterfalls inside. The blonde went inside to take a closer look.

Re: Infiltrating the Temple
Leona carefully walked into the room and took notice of the waterfalls. There was one in each corner and they all appeared to be blood red thanks to torches that lit the room. Again, the water being red was likely deliberate. The room had an eerie feel and made the hair on the back of Leona's neck stand up.
On the floor was a blood red circle with a skull drawn inside and surrounded by symbols of death, most of them being unknown to her. She recognized a few of them. She saw smaller skulls, vultures, a skeletal funeral procession, and other death-related imagery. When she heard the sound of shoes echoing in the hallway she stood within the circle and gazed at the waterfall in the room's top right corner.
The circle was presumably used as a place for worshipers to pray to whatever it was they worshiped. Leona's theory was confirmed when a trio of cultists entered the room and lowered themselves to their knees within the confines of the circle. They clasped their hands together and began to pray in a language that was unfamiliar to the blonde. She had never heard it before, not even within the cosmopolitan (for Desierto) Tri-City area. Maybe it was for the best that she did not know what the worshipers were saying.
Leona did not find anything helpful within the room, so she quietly left the trio of worshipers to their business. She shut the door behind them and kept moving down the hall until she spotted the last of the living quarters. There was nothing in there for her, so she continued to the very last room that had not yet been explored. Unlike all the other rooms, this one boasted a magical signature, one that ebbed and flowed like a tide on a beach.
Leona looked into the room and saw a single pedestal within a circle that was drawn on the floor. The magical signature was enough that it almost compelled Leona to enter. She looked around before walking into the room. She noticed that it was a large, circular room with the only decoration being the pedestal and the circle on the floor that it was within. Leona was about to turn and leave when she felt that she was no longer alone.
Leona heard the doors shut with a loud and ominous BOOM. Seven people were standing in front of the closed doors. Great. She had lingered too long and now she was caught. The blonde wanted her Nightshade Machete and Argent Gloves right about now.
Leona was facing four men and three women, not that the gender of her opponents mattered much. Stealth was no longer an option. She would just have to fight her way out of this mess. That was fine by the blonde.

Re: Infiltrating the Temple
"Well, it looks like we have an intruder. But it's not just any intruder who has blundered into our trap. We have a Rising Star, one of the Magic Council's own lapdogs!" One of the cultists, a dark-haired youth in a black trenchcoat spoke. Leona frowned.
"Indeed we do." The masked man spoke in a slightly muffled voice.
"Her name's Leona Jarnefeldt. She's been quite the thorn in our side." The dark-haired youth commented. Leona knew it. Her fame was working against her. Oh well. The cultists should feel honored to be beaten up by a celebrity mage.
"We all know who she is! Cut the introduction! Someone kill her, now!" A red-haired youth ordered. He had blue eyes and wore a black cloak over a gray suit. A dark-haired woman with violet eyes stepped forward.
"I'll handle her. The Magic Council's pets are soft. They don't have what it takes to defeat us." She affirmed to the redhead, who appeared to be the leader. Leona took off her robe and flung it to the ground. The time for disguises had passed.
"You can try." Leona said to the woman. The woman simply laughed.
"We'll leave it to you." The redhead stated before turning around and walking away with the remaining five cultists in tow. The dark-haired woman stepped in Leona's way. Leona was ready for anything.
"This should be fun." The woman said before she sprouted horns from her head. That was not something Leona had anticipated. Still, it would take more than just a cosmetic change to defeat the blonde. The woman rushed towards her.
Leona threw a Fast Ball at the woman. She hit her in the face and the woman laughed it off. She punched at Leona and the blonde ducked it. The mage barely avoided a kick to the face and tried to grab the leg, but the woman backflipped out of reach.
"Not bad for a Rising Star. But our fight's only begun!" The cultist declared. The woman was more than just empty talk. She had the strength and skill to back it up. Leona was going to be in for a tough fight.
The cultist charged again. She performed a sliding kick that Leona managed to dodge with a jump to the side. The woman jumped to her feet and started a series of punches aimed at the blonde. The mage dodged each one while stepping backwards until her back touched the wall. The cultist drew her fist back and Leona ducked; plaster rained down as the section of wall where Leona's head was now sported a small crater.
Leona spun away from a backfist and threw a Wind Ball to distract the woman, who casually ducked under the projectile. She then ran towards Leona. The cultist was certainly determined.

Re: Infiltrating the Temple
The woman charged at Leona and slammed into her with a shoulder charge that knocked the blonde onto the floor. The blonde was set upon and had to defend against a flurry of punches that battered her arms but did not break through. The woman stopped punching and kicked Leona in the side, sending her sliding along the floor.
Leona rose to a knee and used a Wind Blast that knocked the cultist down. The woman rolled backwards and was soon on her feet again. She did not waste any time in resuming the offensive. The dark-haired woman performed a sliding kick and spun herself into a standing position when that attack missed due to Leona jumping back.
"You've done well to last this long against me." The woman offered a backhanded compliment. She then hunched over and clenched her fists. Tattered wings of flesh and bone began to grow out of her back while she struggled to keep her footing. Claws formed on the end of the wings. Moments later the transformation was complete.
"Now let's see how you do when I take to the sky!" She challenged Leona. She crouched down and her new wings flexed. She performed a mighty wing-assisted leap and flapped her wings... the cultist was now airborne. That would add a new dimension to the fight.
The person swooped down on Leona in a diving kick. Leona rolled to the side and cast a Fast Ball, but the woman simply flapped her wings and dodged it. She laughed and effortlessly ascended, then prepared for another attack. This time she tried for a kick... when Leona ducked under it, she darted away before the blonde could retaliate.
"Is that all you can do? Run and dodge? I thought Rising Stars were stronger than that!" She taunted. Leona ignored it. The winged cultist was fast on her feet, but with her wings she was even faster.
"You're only delaying the inevitable, you know." The woman taunted before she dove again. Her clawed wings were aimed straight at Leona. The blonde ducked and listened as sharp claws whistled just overhead. Strands of blonde hair floated to the floor. The woman laughed as she sped by.
The two were playing a deadly game. They were roughly even so far, but the cultist was playing to win. So was Leona. She threw a Fast Ball that the woman dodged with a sudden descent. The cultist dove and delivered another claw attack that caught the right sleeve of Leona's shirt and barely missed cutting flesh.
Leona was not going to win by staying on the defensive. She had to start attacking and put pressure on the woman. But how could she pressure an opponent who could just fly away from any attack she could use? The blonde knew how. To counter a flying opponent, she would send out her own flyers.
But first Leona would need some space and some time to summon them. The cultist was not going to give her either one. The blonde would simply have to create her own window of opportunity.

Re: Infiltrating the Temple
Leona watched as the cultist generated speed, then flew in for a charge attack. Leona stood her ground, then fired a Gale Cannon that hit her in the face. Leona dropped to the floor to avoid the grapple attempt, then concentrated on summoning her harpies. She quickly got on her knees and raised her hands.
"O FABLED HARPIES, O SISTERS THREE! LEND YOUR STRENGTH UNTO ME!" Leona called out. The tornado appeared and deposited the three sisters at her knees. The trio stood up and took flight.
"Hey girl- oh." Sylvia said to Leona.
"Yeah. It's time to, like, fight." Daphne commented.
"Looks that way." Sandy quipped. The cultist laughed.
"So you can summon some flying chickens. Am I supposed to be impressed?" The cultist asked.
"I don't like this chick, Leona. Something's off about her." Sylvia commented.
"If you must call me something, the name's Ophelia." The woman stated smugly.
"Get her!" Leona instructed. The trio ascended as the woman's skin began to change into something different. It turned shadowy as if it were not entirely there anymore. The harpies attacked all at once and hit Ophelia with their talons, but she was not harmed. Ophelia simply laughed.
"How cute." The cultist commented.
"She's annoying." Sylvia said. Leona was inclined to agree. Ophelia rushed at Daphne and clawed her, then kicked Sandy in the face before rushing at Leona. The dark-haired woman clawed Leona's stomach and laughed as she flew away. The blonde clutched her bleeding stomach.
"LEONA!" The sisters called out.
Leona threw a Fast Ball and Ophelia simply flapped her wings, snickering as the wind projectile disappeared.
"That tired old trick? That won't work on me anymore." Ophelia smugly boasted. If Fast Ball did not work, Leona would simply have to come up with some new tricks. She had plenty of spells to use. It was a matter of using the right one.
"Use Triple Threat!" Leona telepathically instructed.
"Got it!" Sylvia exclaimed. The harpies got into a triangular formation and combined their magic as Ophelia watched. Leona fired another Gale Cannon at the cultist, who dodged by flying upward. Leona threw a Fast Ball that Ophelia negated with a flap of her wings. She started to laugh when the Triple Threat projectile slammed into her. She screamed and fell to the ground, bouncing off of it and landing on her stomach.
"Who's laughing now?" Leona took a jab at the smug woman. Ophelia simply laughed the jab off as her eyes began to glow orange.
"I haven't had to use this form in quite some time. You should feel honored." She told Leona. With the horns, the wings, the shadowy skin, and the orange eyes, the woman's appearance was dramatically different. It did not matter how much she changed her appearance. Ophelia was still going to be defeated.

Re: Infiltrating the Temple
Ophelia flew into the air and began throwing fireballs at Leona. Without any pillars to take cover behind, the blonde had no choice but to run for her life. She dodged five of them and stopped just in time to avoid a sixth which exploded barely three feet in front of her. Ophelia dove at her and Leona countered with a Wind Blast which momentarily knocked her off balance.
Undeterred, Ophelia completed her dive attack. She opened her mouth and emitted a piercing scream right in Leona's face. The blonde's ears were overwhelmed as she fell to the ground clutching her head. She could see Ophelia laugh but could not hear the mocking laughter.
Ophelia's laughter was cut off as a Triple Threat slammed into her back. She frowned and turned to face the harpies. Leona took advantage of that distraction to use a Gale Cannon that hit her in the back. The cultist staggered forward from the attack. She appeared to be on the ropes... Leona was going to give her the push that sent her over the edge.
The blonde spotted the robe that she had taken off. She could use that.
"Get the robe!" Leona telepathically instructed.
"What?" Sylvia asked.
"Trust me. Just get it!" Leona instructed.
"OK..." Sylvia replied as the trio worked to get the robe. In the meantime Leona was busy dodging fireballs. She needed to buy the harpies some time. Since Ophelia was fixated on her, the mage should be distraction enough.

Re: Infiltrating the Temple
Leona dodged eight fireballs in succession, then a ninth thrown directly at her head. The harpies had just seized the robe in their talons and were already circling around in the air. Perfect.
"Drop it on her head!" Leona instructed.
"Oh, I get it now! On the way!" Sylvia exclaimed. The blonde had to hold out just a little longer. Ophelia landed and raced at Leona. The mage rolled to the side and dodged a punch aimed at her head. The cultist ran at her and grabbed the blonde by the throat.
"This is the end for you!" Ophelia declared. Moments later her head was covered by the robe. While Ophelia thrashed around, Leona dropped and got to her feet. She fired a Gale Cannon at point-blank range and hit the blinded cultist in the chest. She screamed and fell to the ground, reverting to human form again.
Leona searched Ophelia's unconscious body and found a page written in the same strange language as the book she had retrieved from the cultist in Beanstalk Village. That was exactly what Leona needed. It was time to get out of here. The double doors that had been closed were now flung open by a dozen angry cultists.
"UNBELIEVER!" A red-headed female shouted.
"IMPOSTER!" A blonde woman
"GET HER!" An old man shouted. The cultists ran towards her with murder on their minds.
"Time to go!" Leona exclaimed to her harpies as she pocketed the page. The trio nodded and Sylvia grabbed her by the waist. They lifted off and Leona dispersed the crowd with a Wind Blast. The cultists screamed in unison as their quarry flew by them. Leona flew to the exit and blasted it open with a Gale Cannon, knocking aside the startled doorman.
The cold air hit her face and the blonde quickly put some distance between her and the temple. Now she had to deliver it to the scientist. She hoped that Gary Barnsworth was still in Beanstalk Village.

Re: Infiltrating the Temple
-Beanstalk Village, Margaret the Herbalist's shop-
"Oh, hello Leona!" Margaret greeted Leona. Leona unfolded the page that she had taken from Ophelia and handed it to Gary Barnsworth.
"I got this from the cult. I infiltrated their temple in Spooky Forest and took it from one of their high-ranking members after I beat her in a fight. I couldn't risk sending this by mail because I don't know how far their influence reaches. it might have been intercepted by one of their agents before you got it." Leona said to Gary.
"Oh? You went to that much trouble? Thanks Leena!" He cheerfully said to her. Margaret and Leona both groaned in frustration. The elderly professor still had not gotten the hang of Leona's name. Margaret walked over to her cabinet and rummaged through it until she found a blue potion. She then walked over and handed it to Leona.
"Take this potion, dear. I see you've been in a fight." Margaret said in understatement. Leona took the potion and drank it. A minute later her wound began to close up. Since she had been forced to leave behind her medical supplies, Leona could not apply a bandage or antibiotic ointment. Margaret's aid was invaluable.
"I'll take it to my friend first thing tomorrow morning. He'll translate it for us. I'll let you know when it's been translated." Gary said to Leona. The blonde breathed a sigh of relief. Her job was nearly done. The cult's leaders were still on the loose, but she had scored another victory over the cult. Now she had to keep working to bring them down before their plan came to pass.
"We'll have to be careful from here on out. The cult's likely onto us. The town guard's patrolling the streets of this village, but they can't cover everywhere in town. We'll let you know if we're in danger. For now, just go home and wait for our instructions." Margaret said to Leona. The blond nodded and left the shop to avoid bringing any trouble to their doorstep in case she was followed.
Leona called upon her harpies and flew home to Silver Wolf Guild Hall. She was not as worried about being attacked there as she was in Beanstalk Village. The guild hall had defenses that Beanstalk Village lacked. The cult would have to work pretty hard and risk a lot of members to breach the hall's defenses. If they succeeded in getting inside, they would be facing a lot of Silver Wolf mages on their home turf and be facing an angry and fully equipped Guild Master.
Leona hoped that the walls of the guild hall would never be breached. She hoped to get strong enough to make that scenario a remote possibility. One day she would achieve that goal. She would become strong enough that her very presence guaranteed Silver Wolf's safety.
