Afraid of the escalation of their persecution towards her, and terrified of her own wanton bloodlust towards the village that hated her, but was the only home she had ever known.

A chance encounter at an nearly abandoned monastery deep in the woods turned her life around. While she still has to deal with her natural instincts, particularly in high-stress situations, she also learned that she could overcome them through discipline. Her teacher was a grizzled old man, once a warrior, once a mage, and now too old to do either. As such he trained her in the way that he had been trained as a boy. Taught discipline in order to use the power within oneself to change the world around them.

She learned everything that her teacher could offer her, and it was the closest experience she had ever had to a father or other kind of family. Her training in this way at the remote monastery continued until he grew too old to leave his bed. He encouraged Kiri (a nickname he had given to her), to travel towards the country of Fiore and the surrounding nations, where magic-users were bountiful. There she could find a guild that would allow her to put her magical talents to use.

As such, that has been Kiri's mission ever since, and her travels along the road had stripped her of any sense of naivete that she had before leaving. Seeing other outcasts and urchins on the road helped her sense of empathy, and she came to realize that she would rather be called names and be discriminated against that others, leading her to sometimes intervene and suffer consequences for it. Still through it all she followed the words of her teacher and has kept her gaze forward on the future, rather than keeping herself tied down to a past she can never change.

She doesn't view herself as any kind of leader or inspiration, humbly saying that she's just a regular person trying to get through life one step at a time, and has no objections with doing what she is told, as long as it's not objectionable to her morals. At times the claim of a 'regular' person is difficult to claim, not only because of her physical features, but also when she is seen in battle. While she starts a fight a picture of calm and discipline, as the fight drags on, her bloodlust grows more and more, and she starts to enjoy the fight far more than the average person "should," her expression turning to one of an almost feral joy. It's a stark contrast to her normal expressions which could be described as somber.

• Training: Kiri does not have much in the way of physical possessions so she gets enjoyment through what she does have, and that happens to be her own abilities.
  
• Chocolate: It's bitter, but also sweet! Bittersweet even! And the more bittersweet she can get it, the more she likes it.
  
• Being Treated as Normal: It's a hard thing, but every time she can have a conversation without someone looking at her with worry or a malicious look, every time she can go down the street without whispers behind her back following her makes her happier than she can describe for such a mundane thing.
  
• Fighting: The adrenaline rush, and putting the skills and discipline she has earned through hard labor is an extremely satisfying experience for herself. Particularly if she doesn't take it "too far" in which case she views the victory as extra sweet because it means she can overcome her own instincts.

• Bullies: Those who pick on the weak, the helpless, and those who are different are utterly abhorrent to her.

The horns themselves seem to emerge from the skin and have an almost velveteen texture near the base, hardening to a reddish keratin (the same sort of material as fingernails) at the end. Her hair frames both her horns and the rest of her face, and outside of her bangs, is usually tied up into a ponytail with a short, red cord. Her pointed ears also stick out from under her hair, "hinting" further at her inhuman ancestry. Her body is athletic in shape, usually hidden under a cloak wrapped around her shoulders. Despite a fair amount of lean, toned muscle, her figure is almost hourglass in shape. Her bust being a little narrower than her hips. Over this she wears a form-fitting white suit that promotes flexibility. It has a shape almost similar to a one-piece swimsuit, although it ends with a "skirt" at the hips - the inside is covered by fabric as well, and thus the "skirt" is largely cosmetic. Everything important is covered at all times. The one-piece also has black sides and sleeves that go all the way down to the hands, where they cover up to the first knuckle of the fingers like fingerless gloves. Over this she usually has her forearms wrapped with plain white bandages, and a pair of detachable shoulder plates strapped to the upper part of her biceps, with a matching pair at her hips with a belt. Her long legs are covered by a pair of black thigh-high stockings, with ankle-high boots at her feet that are attached to accompanying shin-guards. When traveling she completes the entire thing with a white cloak with a red underside that wraps around her neck almost like a scarf.
