Theo stood stiffly before the entrance of the Oak Town banquet. With the doors still shut, the sign was dangling clearly through the glassy surface as the unease of a storm was gradually rolling over the place of history. Every rustic building stood tall on the winding slope which clung to the mountain, the heavy weight of the air even colder than it was below. Not that it could have been comparable to the merciless torrent of Mt. Hakobe's brutal and never-ending climate. Still Theo was reminded about how valuable this time was. Concealed skies ruined his chance for a good time. Still he kept himself settled beneath the cover of the doorway, his jaded gaze continuing to eye the sign for assistance. Not that there had been any point— Theo let a sigh depart past his lips, tiredly lowering his sightings to the cool earth.

He had come here to help. Whatever chance the Master of the snakes had offered, when he was not bemused with being watchful and attending to the bar, there was a chance for being normal. The fact that he was trying to do so was more upsetting than anything. Sometimes, if not all the time, Theo wished he had just been so from the beginning. Maybe it was events like this that allowed him to feel enlightened. Even if it was only for a night.

The marked arm motioned, raising the hand towards the bottom of his left eye. Despite it being there, it was still difficult to perceive things clearly. He could feel the tissue convulsing, persistent on leaving behind a small scar that extended just over the brow. It hadn't been that long since he had last lost it, neither had it been since the clash with his friend. Quite directly their conversation had gone, backfiring into the frustration of one that could not handle being spoken as so. Theo didn't feel to great about what he had said— perhaps he could have spoken with a much more subtle manner, not that it was ever in his nature. When he thought about it persistently, the entirety of the situation made him feel hurt and restless.

Maybe this was just what he needed to forget.

The winds of fate had brought the aspiring cook back to Oak town once more. But this time he was not on the hunt for giant, plush teddy bears. No. This time, he was on a hunt for some more cooking experience. And once he saw a flier advertising a banquet at a high-end restaurant in town, while asking for extra hands in the kitchen, Zen knew he couldn't pass up such an opportunity. He helped out at the Red Dragon Inn during the rush hour before, which taught him how to better handle stressful situations and how to handle more colourful patrons. However, the more experience he got, the better off he would be when he opened the izakaya of his dreams.

The young man made his way through the winding streets of the town of history. Even though he had been there only once before, he had a pretty good idea as to where he was supposed to go, to get to the restaurant. It was more on the colder side outside, making Zen glad that he had his coat on him. He kept on walking, until he reached his destination. It did look like quite the fancy restaurant on the outside. /"Definitely looks like a place where an expensive banquet would be taking place."/ If he would've come across such a place a bit previously on in his life, he would've known that he hit the jackpot. So much money and so many expensive items would have been stolen from those pompous pricks. But alas, that was in the past, thankfully. With a quiet sigh, Zen would approach the entrance to the restaurant, only to notice a person standing in front of it. It seemed to be a young man, standing there by himself. Zen was unsure whether he wanted to go to the restaurant or just waiting for somebody. Or some other reason. "Hello there!" Zen would greet the young man, as he approached the front of the restaurant, ruffling his hair a bit to hide the mark on his forehead. "Are you here for the banquet?" He would ask the other man, out of curiosity. He hoped that he wasn't being rude and invading private space.

Just nearly had he been so indulged by his own thoughts that the approaching voice scarcely broke through. A lighthearted flutter of words that startled Theo from his moment of gloom in the times that were contrast to his current reality. His hand slid from the measly scar, captivating gold brilliant even the beginning of such a cold and muggy setting that it glared through the start of fallen droplets. He felt a chill coming over him, not exactly dressed well for this type of weather.

The stranger to his right was just a bit taller than he was, though it had not been impending as to leave discomfort in the crane of his neck. Loathing for the current time, or perhaps wielding a grasp for being able to converse properly, his gaze wandered momentarily to the acute helix of his ears. Not entirely typical for someone that had first been presumed as human. Theo quickly reminded himself that the majority couldn't exactly remain normal in a world that thrived in magic. He lurched from his silent observation, deciding to seek out words that he had not bothered to find in the seconds that had passed.

"Y-Yes," Theo cleared his throat, looking elsewhere with a notable tension, "I'm here to help out with the drinks." moving towards the doors, the colorful display from the inside in comparison to the dullness of what lay in the cold was surprising. Theo felt out of place in sight of the fancy tables, food and well-kept individuals. His eyes wandered towards the stranger once again, "What about you?" the question was pressed with the door still open, assuming that the other had also stepped forward with the intent on entering. Either to indulge in a delicious meal or to help out as-well.

The other man with dark hair responded positively to Zen's question, also noting that he was there to help out with drinks. Assuming that a large amount of people did gather at the banquet, such help certainly wouldn't go unappreciated. The other man pushed the door open and the light and loud chatter escaped from the inside. /"This is going to be quite stressful, for sure."/ He thought briefly, as he noticed the other man holding the door open, passing his question back at Zen. The young man nodded as he passed into the building. "Thanks." He would thank the other man. "I'm here to help out in the kitchen." Zen would reply to the question he was asked.

Their arrival into the building did not go unnoticed, however. There were several men in suits that held papers, which Zen could only assume was the guest list. It seemed awfully long, though. There were also some well-dressed guards, two of whom immediatelly stepped in front of the two men. "State your business." Said one of them, coldly. Zen couldn't blame him, he knew that he certainly didn't look like rich folk. "We are here to help out with the banquet." The expressions of guards didn't change at all. They only seemed to be intent on kicking them out. "There was a job listing asking for extra help with the banquet." The young man would try to persuade them. "I know that I don't belong among these people, so I wouldn't have come otherwise, believe me." He would explain his own outlook on the things. The guards exchanged looks and then one of them stepped aside. "You'll be going with me. Cause any trouble and you're out." That seemed reasonable to Zen and he only helpless shrugged at the other man and went on to follow the guard through the banquet hall itself. Before he stepped inside completely, though, he would give the other man a brief look. "The name's Zen, by the way." At least for once he didn't forget to introduce himself.
