- Job Title: The World’s Fluffiest Catch
Rank: C rank
Player Requirements: 200 words, 20 posts. This job requires 5 rolls. You need to kill a ram/the boss.
Job Requirements: At least one C rank mage or the equivalent.
Job Location: Spooky Forest
Job Description: In your quest for a new blanket you have come across a shop that sells particularly soft ones. However, they are out of stock of their most fluffy and soft blankets. They are in short supply because the breed of sheep it comes from cannot be easily domesticated and is quite dangerous.
The job is to kill a Ram and bring it back to the store owner, where they can make a proper blanket for you and pay you for the rest of the fluffy beast.
Enemies:
Rapid Chickens: These only take 1 C ranked damage to take down, but they're very fast and even a tiny peck can poison you with rabies, resulting in all those fun rabies effects until you're either healed or die from the 1/4 C ranked damage it inflicts on you every turn. Five chickens show up at once.
Normal: Piggies- These take 4 C ranked damage to take down and can deal out C ranked damage. Three piggies show up at once.
Strong: Ewe- These are pretty big sheep, but nothing compared to the ram. Their wool is nice, but not nearly as nice as his. But that’s against the point. It takes 8 C ranked shots to take them down and they can deal out C ranked damage. They typically come in groups of about three or four.
Boss: Big bad sheep- A killer ram with the fluffiest most velvety coat you ever saw. Its has razor sharp teeth and hooves sharp enough to cut. It takes 15 C ranked blows to take this ba-haha-ad sheep down. It can cause B ranked damage in attacking you, so be careful!
Reward: 7k in jewels and a really fluffy blanket.
--Credits to Heyyew, moved by Niyol.

“So I can’t just buy the blanket?” Althea asked, leaning idly on the store counter. She wasn’t one to usually buy many things, but the cold really gets to her on a few nights and a blanket seemed really nice to have. Cuddled up on the rooftop of a building draped in a blanket soft to the touch while gazing out at the city lights of Magnolia. Oh, and you can’t forget the blackberries and juice box, those were the most important part to the whole ensemble. But now that was being threatened by the store that was supposed to supply the best in Earth Land.
“Nope, we’re out of wool.” The cashier, said flatly, busying themselves with counting jewels. “And our best blanket can only be made with one kind of wool, but it’s pretty hard to get. It comes from a ram in the forest that has razor sharp teeth and hooves, enough to easily kill someone.” But at this Althea only seemed to be encouraged by their words, eyes lighting up with hope. Slightly confused by her reaction, the employee went on. “So, um, you can expect another shipment to come in by,” They looked away from the jewels, glancing briefly at a sheet of paper situated next to them. “In about two months time sorry. But, don’t fret.” Reaching under the counter, the cashier pulled out a blanket that seemed to be nothing more than ordinary. “May I interest you with our second most popular blanket, the Herd Hearth?”
Althea shock her head confidently, “No, I’ll just go get the wool myself!” She exclaimed a tad bit too loudly.

WOULD YOU LIKE TO MEET THE MONSTER BEHIND THE MASK?
It could be considered unusual for the two Basilisks to be out shopping, but when you considered the weather on Hakobe (cold, cold, snowy, and more cold), it was perfectly understandable why Aoi and Aoba Itou would be found out in some random blanket store, looking for warm and comfortable coverings to shield them from the honestly unreasonable cold of their home away from home. Although little time was spent there by the summoners, the trek up that mountain was cold and harsh, even with the support of magic, and nothing did the trick better than a bit of warm wooliness in the form of cloaks or blankets.
Unfortunately, the siblings’ hopes would soon be dashed with the bored tone of the shopkeeper, brows knitting together in irritation as they repeated the question: “Are you absolutely sure there’s no way of getting your fluffiest blanket within a week?” Their next visit to the guild hall would be in seven days – being absent from Basilisk Fang for too long was suspicious, but with their careers, the twins were rather busy. With an irritated huff, however, the shopkeeper had no sympathy for the teens, slamming their hands down on the table. “Either you take our next fluffiest blanket, you wait, or you leave! That kid from earlier was bugging me about it as well, and I’ve been receiving complaints all day! Can’t all you brats learn some patience or something? My goodness!”
Grumbling under their breath, the shopkeeper would busy themselves by rummaging around under the desk, leaving Aoi and Aoba standing by awkwardly. “What do we do now, Aoba?” Aoi’s voice zapped its way down the line between the twins, catching the younger sibling’s attention. “Uhh, I honestly don’t know… Maybe that kid over there might now? Wasn’t she talking to the cashier earlier? She yelled something about getting the wool herself earlier – “
Before Aoba had even finished speaking, his sister was already slipping across the room to the girl, tapping her on the shoulder. With their current appearance, the twins had arranged their faces to be unrecognizable to any of their fans in their other field of career, and dark, practical travelling cloaks covered their bodies. Generally, they looked like typical mercenaries, if perhaps a bit young. “Hey, I couldn’t help but overhear you earlier! Were you going to get wool to make the blanket?”

Althea turned to look at the pair or strangers who had approached her, adorned in dark cloaks. “Yeah, you bet I am! The guy at the counter said that the ram where they get the wool from is in the forest that way.” Althea gestured towards said direction with her bandaged hand. She noticed that not only did the two dress as if they could use magic, but it also radiated off of them. Grinning, the young girl decided for herself that she understood the situation enough to make a rather rash decision. Surely if they asked if she was going to get the wool, they wanted to come along. Not believing it to be necessary to point out potential dangers in the forest such as the ram itself, Althea just acted on her frivolous thoughts. “Alright I’m Althea, Thea's fine too. Let's go get that wool!” Althea would reach out to grab the twin’s hands, bolting out of the door whether she got both of them or not.
To onlookers, her running across the dirt path most likely appeared to be a black smudge and then a large cloud of dust. After all, the young wizard was quite the runner, able to reach speeds up to around fifty miles per hour, although she wasn’t running quite that fast during this instance. The forest the ram apparently lived in wasn’t too far from the blanket shop, so going at her maximum speed wasn’t really necessary. But, that didn’t stop her from slightly increasing her pace once she saw the gloomy forest looming in the distance. Althea couldn’t help herself, the whole situation was really exciting, and she preferred getting the wool herself rather than having someone else collect it for her. And apparently she could potentially fight the ram, just another plus in a big ball of ‘adventure’!
Eventually, the blonde came to a sudden stop after entering the forest, wishing to take the scenery in and would also let go of whoever hand she was holding. First looking around then trying to catch a scent, Althea searched for something that sort of smelled like wool. She hadn’t come across many sheep or rams in her travels, so she couldn’t really count on that. The young girl had however been within the blanket store whose blankets all seemed to be made out of the substance. Soon, her slayer senses were able to pick up something that resembled the scent, taking off towards it. “Ram’s this way!” She called out mostly to herself. But before Althea even took any more than five steps, a flock of three chickens emerged from the general direction she was headed towards. The wizard was about to simply brush them off until they began rushing at her with an aggressive intent.

I FELL IN LOVE WITH THE MONSTER BEFORE I EVER SAW THE MASK.
The girl turned around, attitude confident and bright. Starkly contrasting to that of their rather depressing guild’s attitude about life, huh. The blonde would briefly explain where the ram resided, lifting a bandaged hand to gesture in the general direction. Interesting – bandages were excellent ways to hide things. Almost instantly afterwards, before the twins had time to process the information, the girl would blurt out an introduction before yanking both with her as she rushed out the door. Say what? Let’s rewind a bit…
Despite only being a year or so older than the energetic mage, Aoi and Aoba had been pulled through the blenders of both the idol industry and illegal magic industry, meaning they’d grown just as depressing as their work environments. Unlike the now sprinting figure that dragged the twins along at breakneck speed, they felt somehow a million years older in mind. Had she seriously just pulled them along without a second thought? The two didn’t exactly look the most inviting or friendly with their dark cloaks, and their magical aura wasn’t anything significant. Being incapable of utilizing any magic themselves, the artificial aura was emanated by the spirit that bound them together. Akano’s own magical capacity wasn’t the most impressive, so only a mere trickle of power would fluctuate around their beings. Nothing that suggested that Aoi or Aoba would be of much use in any task.
Still, now that this Althea was pulling them along already, there was little use in dawdling, right? But my goodness, how fast she went! Without seeming to even be exerting much power, the Fairy mage kicked up dust and wind behind her that occasionally flapped into the Basilisks’ faces, rushing into the depths of the Spooky Forest. Just as their arms were starting to ache from the strain of Althea’s grip, the slayer would halt suddenly, looking round with an admiring expression. The tired hands of the idols were dropped, and Aoi and Aoba slowly recovered. Two hunched figures, mops of black and blue with hands clutching knees they were. When Aoba finally caught his breath enough to look up, the blonde was sniffing around. Interesting – what sort of creature was she exactly? From the stats that Akano now read dully into his mind, he knew she was most definitely a mage. What type, however, would remain uncertain.
Before either twin or spirit had time to take in the information, Althea had run off yet again, “Ram’s this way!” intoning a message to herself. And then there were chickens. A flock of fluttering feathers burst out at the trio of mages, charging the girl with most malicious of intents. Aoba closed his eyes briefly, then opened them again. No use getting depressed over watching a flock of chickens peck a kid to smithereens, right? As “dark” as the Basilisks were, they did want a blanket. If helping the girl would get them a blanket, then so what? Before he could supply a form of help, however, his sister was already flourishing the blue kerchief housed in her cloak pocket, summoning the Sword Dancer. “Maino! Please defeat the chickens.” It honestly didn’t seem like a wise choice to release the offense specialist spirit so early in the game, but now that Maino had been summoned, there wasn’t much else to do but let the bluenette do her thing.
Brandishing twin swords, the swordswoman sliced sharply through the wing of one of them, a perplexed expression on her face as she did her work. The chickens were vicious, snatching the fringes of her cloak within their sharp beaks, but the spirit was also too fast for them to do any real damage. One was easily defeated before she beheaded another in a smooth stroke of the silver blade. As the fighting went on, Aoi and Aoba merely looked on from the side. Fighting was something to be left to their spirits.

It took Althea a few moments to process the fact that several chickens were going to attack her, so she didn’t react just as soon as those with her did, although that was about the time that she realized that she had snatched them from a store without asking for their names, whoopsies! Anyways, that didn’t really matter since she would make sure to ask them later. What did matter about them was how cool their magic was! Althea personally wasn’t one for summoning magic, but it wasn’t like she had come across someone who had used it yet. All she already knew was that you get other people to fight for you, which didn’t seem all too appealing. But once she saw the “sword-y” person began fighting the rabid chickens, she quickly changed her opinion.
“WHOA, SUMMONING MAGIC IS SO COOL!” She exclaimed right in the middle of the battle, simply staring in awe at the odd battle. Just watching the battle was enough -- and it just so happened a sword was being used, something she respected due to her inability to use one of those things. But now she could watch someone do that and look incredibly awesome while doing so! Stars filled her eyes as she gazed at the summon skillfully slice a chicken’s wing clean off. “Wow, did you see that?” She chirped, wildly pointing to the spectacle while turning to look at the two mages she had picked up. But, they didn’t seem too engaged in their own summon’s work, which confused Althea to some degree ue to her own utter amazement.
Meanwhile, the two other chickens had realized that they should also be focused on attacking the slayer, which they proceeded to do. The flightless birds flapped right up to the wizard, causing her to momentarily diverge her attention from admiring swords to dealing with the enemy. At first kicking the one on her right away, she decided to defeat the one on her left first. As it attempted to peck at her feet, Althea stomped on it twice, putting an excessive amount of force behind her blows. The other chicken reconsidered its decision making for a moment, but the mage had already approached it. And with only one vertically aimed punch, it was out for the count. She noticed two more in a bush who hid themselves in a hurry, but she didn’t take note of them.
Sighing, Althea patted her dress, dusting off any dirt from the tussle. “Anyways,” She said, continuing along the path she had already began moving on, “Let’s get going again! Oh, and what’re your names?”

WOULD YOU LIKE TO MEET THE MONSTER BEHIND THE MASK?
Observing the quick scuffle from the side, the twins raised their eyebrows in almost comically similar actions as they watched the girl’s eyes widen in shock, looking absolutely mindblown that a summon had just been called forward. Was it really so odd? Summoning magic wasn’t exactly rare in Fiore, and most barely batted an eye at its usage. What was with this girl and her quirkiness, anyways. Was she a foreigner or something? Definitely didn’t seem like any of the mages back at Basilisk Fang, but then again…that was Basilisk Fang. Everyone was at least kinda depressed.
Watching as the girl expressed her amazement with a loud exclamation, looking on with awe on her face. One would think that maybe…you know…she’d try to help out and end the battle quickly? But instead, Althea sort of just stood there, as if watching an action movie of some sort. Stars would seem to just about fill her eyes, dreamily watching as Maino sliced off a chicken wing. The summon herself seemed kind of perplexed as well – not only had she been summoned to slaughter chickens, but there was some kid drooling all over her or something. Although she did her best to ignore Althea’s stares and exclamations, the swordswoman’s tilt of the mouth betrayed her confusion. Receiving so little attention from her keepers already, being idolized by a kid was even more surreal.
Althea, ever the cheerleader would proudly point out Maino’s attacks to the bored-looking Aoi and Aoba, looking on with tired gazes. Was this going to turn into some sort of babysitting session? It was obvious that the girl had magical abilities, but few had actually proven to be shown as useful in any manner. That was, until two birds made a beeline for the Fairy, squawking and flapping in a frenzy as their claws aimed at any bit of soft skin they could feast upon. A few surprisingly strong kicks and stomps would put one out, the sound of the fragile bones snapping barely audible over the demonic chicken noises, and the other took a fist to the face and flopped upon the forest floor. So it seemed she could fight after all…as for what her magic consisted of, that was yet to be seen.
Maino returned to her keepers, dipping her head formally for a moment before positioning herself carefully off to the side. Instead, Aoi and Aoba now turned back at the sound of Althea’s voice. Already moving along, she let out a cheery inquiry about their names. So casual? What sort of person was this? “My name is Rino, and my this is my twin sister Yuno.” Stepping forward to introduce the pair, Aoba extended their names used in the magical community, careful to never let any people in this field of work know about their identities in the entertainment industry. “It’s…nice to meet you.”
Footsteps sinking gently into the mulchy cover of the forest floor, the trio followed after Althea’s confident step. “So, Althea, do you know where to find this ram?” Aoi extended the question in a fairly bright voice, years of acting experience easily allowing her to assume the guise of gaiety. However, before the girl in question could respond, a sudden hurtling sound of hooves charged down from behind them, causing the trio to whirl around in surprise. Instantly, Maino’s stance was battle-ready, and she flung back her blue cape to release a swarm of five swords out into the trio of charging pigs that were following them on the path. What was up with this place and crazy farm animals? One would manage to efficiently carve its way into the pig’s leg, crippling it, while two others opened gashes along their sides – not enough to do too much damage.

Althea nodded cheerfully, simply accepting the twin’s supposed names. Not that she found a reason to suspect them of lying, they seemed like pretty cool people with a summon that used swords. “Nice to meet you too, Rino and Yuno!” She exclaimed, turning her attention back to finding the ram almost as abruptly as she had initially extended her question. The wizard continued forwards following a trail that reminded her faintly of a “ragged pillow” in scent. It might not sound like a sheep’s scent, but it was the closest thing in the dense forest that was remotely similar. And different types of ram might just smell differently. But this thought led to Althea wonder if any sheep smelt like cotton candy since that had the word cotton in it. But her thoughts constructing the appearance of her candy sheep were disrupted when one of the twins spoke.
“Oh yeah, of course I do. I’m a dr-” The slayer was about to explain that she was a dragon slayer and therefore had a few enhanced senses when the thundering sound of hooves reached the travelling trio. After being so focused on the smell of sheep, a sudden sound like that really rattled her, leaving Althea a bit dazed for a moment. But by the time after the blue caped swordswoman had pulled out her weapons, she had recuperated her scattered senses. The awesomeness of watching the summon summon an array of swords with a wave of her cape was incredible to see. Well, it was awesome enough to help Althea focus on the incoming hogs. Briefly, she concocted a plan to somehow prevent anyone from being run over by a horde of three.
Quickly coming up with an idea that may seem reckless because it was. But, the water mage simply wished to test herself to some degree, so she mostly just went through with the idea for self gratification. Standing squarely in front of the approaching creatures, Althea balled her fists at her side, eyes trained on them. Of course the hogs stayed on their path without fail, which she was pretty glad for, hopefully they wouldn’t deviate from it too in order to simply make her life easier. The slayer liked testing her skill, not her patience. Taking in a deep breath, the mage exhaled dozens of bullet-like water droplets, aiming to hit more of an area than a few specific targets. She at least wanted to hit each of them with one, and didn’t feel like dealing with a few slippery pigs for no reason. Looking over her handywork, Althea winced as she heard wood splitting, a tree falling onto the ground. “Umm, it was already dead!” She said mostly for herself. But at the sound of a few snorts and hooves still moving across the earth, she refocused on her current opponents. The two closest to her had the more bruises than the already injured and additionally slower hog, each with 5 bruises on their hide. Meanwhile, the one farthest away got away with only 3. But that wasn’t much of a problem, a few blows would sort them out.
The closest hog somehow was still able to get up, charging straight at Althea. But, she simply picked it up by the snout, using it as a club to bluntly hit the next approaching pig. Kind of morbid when you think of it, but they were the ones who picked the fight. Both of the hogs incapacitated, she moved onto the last not-so-small piggie. It attempted to run, but the slayer just caught up to it, picking it up and holding it above her head. Then, on a whim, she had an incredibly odd idea. “I’ll call you… Puffball! I’ve always wanted to name something Puffball!” she exclaimed, moving on back to her companions casually while holding onto the squealing pig. “Now we have Puffball!” She said, “Oh, and I can’t track the ram anymore. All I can smell is pig~” She added as if it were a side note. And it wasn’t because she was holding a violentley squirming one either. The smell of pig just happened to be more dominant than that of pillows.

I FELL IN LOVE WITH THE MONSTER BEFORE I EVER SAW THE MASK.
Althea took their names without a single shred of doubt upon her face, and returned back to the issue at hand. That was actually somewhat impressive to Aoba after his observations of a fickle girl whose goals and motivations seemed to change every few seconds – it was obviously quite frustrating to have to depend on some random stranger to find their way around with the twins being so independent most of the time, but they hid it well enough behind their masks of flesh and skin.
Even so, Aoba’s opinion on the dragon slayer would be quickly reversed as he observed Althea’s eyes fading off into some unrelated thought, her expression growing unfocused from the path she was following. Probably gotten distracted by something insignificant again, right? But at least she answered their question, confidence easily fitting her frame as she began to explain about something she was – something that was quickly interrupted by the incoming sound of hooves. As the mages moved into their respective positions for battle, leaving Maino lashing out furiously at her opponents with well-sharpened blades, the blonde’s eyes would once more widen at the blue-haired swordswoman’s abilities. While the act of someone actually admiring her work was somewhat strange to the summon, at least it seemed to help the girl focus on her own opponents.
Suddenly rushing to stand straight before the incoming horde, Althea’s eyes bored down with an uncharacteristic intensity at the hogs. Would the twins finally get a chance to see the girl’s magic in action? As they watched with interested gazes for once, the Fairy would inhale a gust of air, cheeks ballooning with the action before releasing it in a burst of small, bullet-like water droplets. So she was a water mage? Having aimed for the general area of pigs instead of any specific creatures, all opponents were now injured in some fashion, weakened to be easier to take care of. A tree would have crashed somewhere after an unfortunate missed volley of droplets struck its rotting trunk, but Aoi and Aoba paid it little mind. It was a forest – trees would grow back naturally later on.
Instead, the expressions on their faces were almost comical as they watched the girl literally lift a pig up by the snout and ram it into one of the incoming creatures. Just how ridiculously powerful was she? Perhaps they’d sorely underestimated this Althea after all. And then, as always, she ruined any good impression they might have kept of her by suddenly picking up the remaining pig with a triumphant look on her face. It would be raised high above her head like a trophy, and the most random proclamation of “I’ll call you… Puffball!” rang out through the trail.
Come again? Aoba’s face would now be decorated by a frustrated scowl as the youth put a hand to his weary head. “Are you serious…?” Trailing off in utter disbelief, he shook his head, ready to return to business when Althea just so happened to drop the second bombshell. Well that was just fantastic – not only did they have a violent pig tagging along with them, they had no way to locate the sheep…!
By now, Maino’s time limit on Earthland would have concluded, leaving their main offensive force out of the count for a good amount of time, too. It only served to further dampen the already-defeated mood of the idols, leaving them rather dependent on the slayer for offense. In a frustrated swipe of his fingers, Aoba would release the red thread loosely tied around his wrist in order to summon the first spirit that the twins had ever possessed. While Akano had few battle-suited abilities of note, she was more accustomed to supportive and passive tasks such as these. Having already heard her keepers’ thoughts, the tsukumogami drifted up into the air, peering down at the forest below with eerie red eyes. In a moment’s time she would send her thoughts down to the twins, pointing them off the path and into the forest. “It’s stopped to rest for a bit, but will probably start moving again before long.”
“Hmm… The Red Weaver told us the ram is off the path that way.” Pointing down into the forest, Aoi would eye the pig once more before the two began moving according to Akano’s instructions.

“What do you mean?” Althea asked in response to Rino’s query. She was completely and wholly serious about Puffball tagging along, even though the pig looked just as bothered - if not even more - as Rino by the arrangement. After all, it was constantly twisting and turning in the water mage’s grasp, obviously preferring to be supported by the ground rather than hands. But she simply had wanted to name something, so she did. And that thing she named would be sticking around. Scooping up a relatively injured enemy was far from past her and it didn’t seem like much of a problem to Althea. Puffball was just a name that popped up into her head once, and since then it stuck around. Even though the squealing pig was far from being “puffy”, a word she assumed was synonymous with “fluffy”, she had already decided that would be what she called it. And as it began settling down out of exhaustion from all its fidgeting, she placed the pig right on top of her head, holding it in place with one hand.
But then her attention was diverted when the twin’s summon up and disappeared. It completely baffled her for a moment before Althea just reasoned that there was some sort of limit on how long she could stay in their realm. But, that didn’t stop the slayer from being relatively disappointed. There was a chance that she wouldn’t see the caped summon again before the quest to obtain the sheep’s wool was achieved, and she already missed the swords. And then a new summon appeared, one adorned in red. This one didn’t have any visible weapons on them, but she trusted the twins to bring out something that would be useful in their current situation.
And her expectations were met once they disclosed to her the location of the ram, apparently told to them by their summon. Althea turned her attention to the odd woman, wondering how Yuno and Rino could hear her when she didn’t say a word. But after only a few moments of thought she simply blew it off. Eventually she may understand the ins and outs of summoning magic, but that day was not the one. So Althea simply flashed a smile at the one apparently called “The Red Weaver”, “Thanks!” She chirped. After all, she was the one to give the group the location of the ram. Then she began moving along with the rest of the venturers.
Eventually after only a bit of travelling Puffball’s squeals intensified to shrill screes of some unknown reason. Fidgeting evolved to violent thrashes as the group neared a sizable glade with more dirt than grass on the ground. And the reason for Puffball’s horror was identified when Althea spotted two ragged looking sheep, one with large spiraling horns while the other was slightly smaller and bore none. “Hey Puffball, were these two all you’re freaked out over? What a total chicken…” She murmured, obviously disappointed. But then the larger sheep let out a horse cry, one that echoed through the forest and caused even a few birds to take flight. Then to Althea’s further disappointment three more pigs and two chickens she recognized as the ones that fled earlier rushed out of the overgrowth. Then, the two sheep attempted to make a break for it, prancing deeper into the arguably spooky woods.
Sighing, Althea removed Puffball from her head, the pig having calmed down to some degree once the woolly creatures had left the scene, and tossed him into the branches of a tree. Surprisingly, it managed to hold onto one but seemed to be a bit stuck at that moment. “Alright Yuno and Rino, you guys can chase the sheep or something while I try and take care of these guys. I’ll back you up later… probably.”

Re: Knee Deep in Sheep [Aoi and Aoba]
In response to the younger mage's innocently phrased question, the youth merely shook his head. Was it even possible to get through to such a phenomenon as this child? It was a question that would have to be left unanswered, however, for the job ahead of them was more important to the idol than explaining logical human behavior to Althea. After all, if even the formerly crazed boar seemed to hold more logic within its tiny, bristled body than the blonde, it would appear that the task was near impossible. Aoba nearly pitied the wretched creature, trapped within the slayer's superhuman grip.
This was most certainly nothing near an ideal situation for the twins: Maino's limit had come and gone, and the blonde's nose was clogged with the scent of pig (why didn't she just get the damn thing down?), rendering her abilities to be of little use. Akano, however, was reliable as ever, easily unearthing the right path. Her calm, fearless attitude boistered Aoi and Aoba's will as always, and wthin moments, the barely visible red string that connected them tugged in a distinct direction, the spirit's voice echoing loud and clear in their heads.
Perhaps, then, it was a good thing that Althea seemed dull in mind, unquestioningly following along with what they said, despite the relatively sketchy situation they had put her in. Trusting without any sign of doubt, she thanked the red summon cheerfully and ran on down the path. The travel was fairly smooth, few obstacles in their path that couldn't be pulled aside by Akano's scarlet ropes, and the progress was overall very dull.
Only when that pig, "Puffball" started up the most dreadful screeching did things take a turn for the interesting. Two ragged sheep appeared, thicc spiraling horns upon their head. Malice seemed to burn within their cruel beady eyes as a stampede of animals burst out around them. Althea seemed unaffected, hurling her beloved Puffball into a tree before announcing her intent to attack the smaller animals first, the two Rams disappearing into the bushes.
Oh no... Oh no. This was not good. Not good at all. Being rather lacking in offensive power at the moment, Aoi and Aoba's were very ill-equipped for battle with giant sheep. To be fair though, this writer highly doubts there is ever any mage at all who would expect fighting giant evil sheep to be in their job description. This was most unprecedented, and who can blame the twins for their shock?
In a moment of quick thinking, Aoi released the bell piercing in her ear, a puff of black smoke pulsing briefly before her before disappearing. Suzuno was best for stealth missions, but this was definitely an emergency in their eyes. Quickly calling out directions to the utterly invisible creature, Aoi sent the spirit to work. She chased the creatures through the forest, attaching a bell to one of them, and ringing another bell before the other. The combined spells weakened the rams, instilling numbing fear into their limbs as they skittered to a stop, fear freezing their movements. Hopefully Althea could finish them off with her more suited magic before the magic wore off.
Holy puffballs there's no dialogue wtf;; and idk if I can beat public toilets, but I typed this up on a glitchy tablet on a moving bus while carsick so I think this comes pretty close.))

Althea charged at the mass of animals, jumping straight into the air when they were nearly about to reach her. Landing on top of a chicken feet first, she leaped off of the feathered creature onto the earth, surrounded by the extremely aggressive occupants of the forest. Realizing that she hadn’t thought beyond simply literally jumping right into the fray, Althea spent a moment to think of what exactly to do next while the five animals spent their time forming a circle around the young girl. Suddenly, a hog ran forwards to ram Althea, something that she was narrowly able to dodge. Next, a chicken -- the one the mage had previously used as a footstool, propelled themselves with their wings towards her face, an attack met with a smack to the face that sent the chicken rocketing into the earth, unmoving. Squealing, two hogs tried attacking at once, one with a leap and another from the ground. But Althea simply left her fist in the air for the airborne pig to run into and kicked the other pig back into their place in the circle. Then, the four remaining creatures attacked all at once, something that Althea found that she greatly enjoyed. First, she reached towards the chicken to grab their legs right under them, deciding she prefered swinging around a chicken rather than a pig. Each creature was whacked away one by one, apparently determined to defeat the slayer right then. The chicken passed out from the rough handling after only striking one hog, but Althea reckoned she wouldn’t like being swung around either. Eventually, Althea had struck each hog four times, leaving them staggering in place. So, the water mage simply walked up to one and kicked it into a tree, leaving it limply lying in the dirt. The other two made futile efforts to get away, but Althea stomped right on one pig and kicked the other.
Sighing, she dropped the chicken and wiped her forehead of a small accumulation of sweat. She had spent more time fighting the animals than she had intended, so it was time to get going. But before she did, Althea made sure to backtrack to grab Puffball from the tree she had thrown him in with little resistance. But, when Puffball was placed on the blonde’s head once the pair got to the ground, it began wiggling again, probably because they were obviously headed for the ram next. But Althea didn’t bother to notice, simply rushing through to shrubbery to catch up with Rino and Yuno.

Re: Knee Deep in Sheep [Aoi and Aoba]

I FELL IN LOVE WITH THE MONSTER BEFORE I EVER SAW THE MASK.
The blonde was such an enigma, honestly. Someone the twins were completely incapable of understanding with their completely different personalities and upbringings, she leapt and jumped easily, using pure brute and magical force to dispatch the ring of creatures. The youth seemed to enjoy some strange form of joy when performing such acts of brash violence. Aoba himself knew the pleasant sensation of ethernanos filling his body as the shell he stole it from fell away, drained of life, but this raw angry enjoyment was not something he had experienced before.
Meanwhile, he himself was struggling with the situation at hand, a deep scowl etched into his face at the inability to do anything besides observe the struggles of the sheep. Akano appeared once more besides them, her form flickering red in the shade of the trees. Impassive as always, the weaver sensed their thoughts, easily letting down strands of red thread into the paths of the sheep. Unable to do much due to her limited abilities, Akano merely let the threads bind the mud-caked ankles together, causing the stumbling and falling of the two rams, fear further messing with their actions. It seemed that Suzuno’s rather inhumane magic was doing its job well. Eyes shot with blood, the creatures bleated in horror at seeing the other’s face, instant charging at one another.
Aoi blinked up in surprise at the calmly smiling tsukumogami standing next to them in the brush. “Did you plan that?” Sounding slightly puzzled, the idol blinked slowly at Akano, who shrugged casually and disappeared once more, leaving naught but the almost-invisible red thread that bound all of them together. How interesting – when had Akano grown so good at strategy? The spirit was almost always silent, only speaking when spoken to. While the twins could indeed delve into her mind, it was so dull, mechanical and constant that they’d stopped the habit long ago. So how had she grown so much?
Wiped from their thoughts as Althea came crashing through the undergrowth with Puffball seated precariously on her head, the twins jumped aside, not willing to get in her way. At the sudden intrusion, both rams turned away quickly, battered from their frenzied, irrational sparring. Finding another terrible, fearsome energy, they charged every way possible, crashing into trees and bush as they attempted to make their way out of the grove.

Althea wasn’t exactly sure where she was going, but she was fairly sure she was going the same way the twins Yuno and Rino had disappeared off into. Or was she? Puffball seemed relatively too distressed to give the mage pointers, although it was doubtable it could at all, and Althea still only detected the lingering scents of the animals she had previously been fighting. But Althea just reckoned that if she covered enough land in a short amount of time she would find them eventually, so she assumed a rather fast jog. And eventually she somehow ended up making her way through the shrubbery into a grove containing the two sheep, the blonde never actually stopping her quickly paced jog. She just headed straight for the blundering woolly creatures to finally wrap things up. In fact, they seemed way more aggressive and disheveled than before, what did Yuno and Rino even do?
But there was no time to ponder too much on that subject because the ewe’s bloodshot eyes had found their way to the mage before going straight for her. So, Althea found the sheep charging straight for her, something she didn’t really see coming, seeing as she was actually focusing on the ram who was still charging indiscriminately at any plant moved in the slightest by the wind. As a pure reflex she ended up punching it in the face, causing it to reel back slightly as a result. And by then the ram had also noticed the slayer’s presence, taking their aggression from trees and bushes to Althea, Puffball letting out a small squeal when the beefy creature began moving towards them to attack, only remaining perched on the water mage’s head because they were aware it would be more dangerous to be on the ground. But Althea didn’t seem to even notice her new enemy, only staring at the ewe with a rather puzzled expression. In fact, even while the sheep had collectively decided to charge right for her she seemed to still be focused on the ewe, jumping to avoid their pursuit once they got close enough and sending a wave of needle like drops of water from the sky, 5 hitting the ram while 4 hit the ewe.
But soon, things seemed to click for her, Althea landing on the ground and turning around to face the two woolly creatures. Her magical power then seemed to swell and then deflate suddenly, not that the sheep could sense it in the slightest. They simply tried their previous attack once more, but this time around Althea had decided to counter. She sprinted forwards to meet them, elbowing the ewe into the earth before grabbing the ram’s horns and kneeing it in the chin. The strength of Althea’s blows had increased exponentially due to several levels of enhancement spells focusing on only that. She had reckoned that fighting them normally would take too much time and that her new way would be way faster. And she was correct, each sheep haven sustained sizable damage from just her simple blows. And as a follow up, Althea kicked the ram into a nearby tree trunk, around that time the ewe recovering from the surprisingly forceful hit and getting to her hooves, rearing up to batter the young girl with her hooves while she was focused on the ram. Managing to weave away, Althea in turn punched the ewe right in their exposed gut, grabbing a flailing leg before the sheep could launch off. She then proceeded to slam the ewe into the ground before kicking it with such force it flew away anyways. “Pretty sure that one’s finished…” The slayer remarked, watching the creature fade to nothing but a black spot in the distance.
But while she was busy staring off at the ewe the ram managed to have their horn find their way deeply embedded into Althea’s abdomen. But, the young girl’s reaction to the blow was a bit slow and resulted her in simply staring at the ram like it was the weird one before reaching down and ripped the horn out. “Hey, that really hurt!” She practically sighed. “Well, I gotta wrap this up now!” The slayer said before raising her leg and bringing it down on its head and then bringing the same leg back to kick the woolly mass across the clearing. Althea patted the hole in her side, “Yeah, this really stings… but pain usually helps me fight better, so thanks!” She said while making her way towards the ram, the creature attempting to get to their hooves before Althea kicked it in the chin hard enough that the ram became airborne long enough to punch it into a nearby tree trunk, thrusting her leg into it’s stomach to pin it there. “I should kill you like a proper hunter, right? I mean, I don’t think you need to kill the sheep for the wool but I kinda just feel like it.” A bow and arrow entirely made from water appeared in Althea’s grasp, the slayer drawing back the string and aiming straight for the ram’s face before letting it go and subsequently removing her leg.
Althea sighed, wiping the sweat from her face and surveying her handiwork. “Phew, I guess we’re done here! I’ll have a new blanket and Puffball for when I get back to Magnolia!” She chirped, patting the hog that she had forgotten to remove from her head for the entirety of the fight. “Oh wait,” She said, turning towards Yuno and Rino before pointing at her abdomen, “Got anything to fix this? I doubt it’s too deep since I was able to move around without too much interference. Oh right, and just pretend you guys didn’t see me acting all weird, ‘kay?”
However, little did she know that would be the last time she ever saw that little pig. To be honest, it was a bit pathetic to look at, imagine how the person writing this felt when they realized Althea was too much of a dumbass to notice or care about the feelings of some fauna? She probably forgot it was her pet and ended up eating, a sad yet fitting end for a creature she probably would've killed on the spot if she was in any worse of a mood.

Re: Knee Deep in Sheep [Aoi and Aoba]
◄
WOULD YOU LIKE TO MEET THE MONSTER BEHIND THE MASK?
It would appear that Althea had the situation more than taken care of, punching sheep right in the face. Unsure of how to even help the girl at all, Aoi felt uncharacteristically useless. It was embarrassing, getting shown up by a mage with such immature behavior. Sighing, the two mages made their way over to the bushes next to the scene of the battle. It appeared that the two sheep were frenzied, barely able to think straight at all. Facing them with confidence in her every step, however, the blonde moved around slowly – Puffball trembling in fear upon her head, squealing occasionally at the approach of the large woolly creatures.
Its fear would be misplaced, however, by Althea’s quick attacks, streams of water flashing out to attack the creatures. While she seemed hesitant at first, moves decided upon only at last minute, her movement would now stabilize and fall into a pattern of consistent movement. Attacks fluid and powerful, blows rained down upon the woolly creatures. They seemed to be enhanced, even more powerful than the beating-up the blonde had given the forest animals earlier. Punting the great ram into a nearby tree, the twins awkwardly dodged, moving away from crashing branches and only to see Althea facing the ewe a moment later. It would be roughly kicked off into the distance, so far off that the poor creature completely disappeared from sight.
Peering out from behind the bushes, Aoi could feel Maino’s presence returning, the blue patch of cloth tucked into her shirt manifesting completely as the Sword Dancer recovered. Perhaps they could actually help out at last. Yet, before anything could be done, the ram charged at the girl, Aoi letting out a call of warning too late. Althea looked down in confusion at the horn that had embedded itself into her side, Aoba’s eyebrow rising in shock in response to the injury. Yet, despite the alarm of the idols, the blonde quickly extracted the horn with little effort and smacked the great ram across the clearing. A cheerful comment would be made with little alarm upon her face for how severe her injuries were, and Althea returned to the battle.
Soon, the ram would find it’s unfortunate woolly, thicc arse pinned down by a fifteen year-old girl, easily slaughtered with a clean shot from a bow and arrow. How unfortunate. Instantly, Aoba reached over to Aoi’s ear, removing the golden earring in a smooth, practiced motion. Ignoring her abrupt jerk of surprise, he threw out the object, summoning a golden-haired man who stretched briefly, adjusting to the new environment. “Oh my, this looks rather serious.” His eyes glanced over at the gaping wound in the water mage’s side, eyebrows raising. A sigh left his mouth, and Takuno reached up to his own earring. Cracking it open into his palm, The Caretaker crouched next to the injured girl, sprinkling the healing powder over his wound. “There ya go, try not to get giant puncture wounds like that in the future. Prolly not the best idea!” With a cheerful wave, Akano would retract Takuno’s presence, the healer fading from the location.
“Thanks, you honestly carried us through that one.” Aoba walked up, nodding coolly the way he did towards fans – the way that he’d been trained to act over all these years.
“We’ll be sure to do that yeah. If you have any problems with that wound, please let us know. Shall we take that ram back to the blanket shop?”
