"You look wonderful," he grinned as the door opened and they traded compliments. Something about those red shoes made the whole thing sexier. What was it about red and men? Theo wasted no time taking one of her hands and pulling her into a gentle kiss in the door way, choosing actions over words as usual. Pulling away, his frosty eyes sparkled. "I made reservations. We should have plenty of time to get there," he added, leading her away from her small house and out into the streets of the Crystalli's town, their home. The smell of salty ocean air was strong, as were the sun's rays. It was a beautiful day for a date, and the seagulls that darted about in the cerulean ceiling overhead squawked out a song just for them. The distant dinging of a buoy made the beachy feel all the more intense, and it would only become more apparent as they neared the docking bridge.
As he escorted his date toward land, beach stretched on either side for quite a ways. Behind the sand in most spots were large outcroppings of stone, some with winding staircases up them. That was because the town of Cedar proper was seated way above sea level on top of the looming rocks and stone carved bridges. It was quite the view, and an impressive stone working feat. If it hadn't been for all the hustle and bustle of a port town, it would have looked like ruins to Theo. Living ruins, perhaps?
As they walked, puffy white passed above and below in the form of clouds and ship sails, offering a jarring comparison. Their home was a scientific and magical wonder of technology and mystical energy, while the wooden ships slicing the sea waves were rustic and more like what he'd sailed upon a few centuries ago. Once their feet hit the stone walkway strewn with sand, they truly got a feel for just how high up the town and rocks were. Taller than their town ship, and exceptionally daunting to climb even with stairs. Theo whistled as he paused to peer up. "We'd definitely be starving by the time we got up there... and your feet would be toast," he teased, winking at her. "Good thing we're staying down here," the jello mage grinned, leading her along the base of the impressive stone. He held her hand tenderly, walking with her at an easy gait. This was a date, after all. There was no rush, and time meant nothing when he was with her. The area was beautiful, the breeze was warm, and the sound of the crashing waves thrilled his soul. Sand didn't impress the former inhabitant of Desierto, but the ocean...that would always captivate him. "You know, the first time I ever seen it as a kid I cried," he told her, foamy waves reflecting in his cold hues. It was rare for him to speak of his past, let alone something he seemed amused with. "The other kids had made fun of me! They called me Sea Tears for weeks," Theo sighed, turning his eyes on his lover. "They were rude."
Chuckling to himself, he looked ahead to see the restaurant carved into the rock wall. That was pretty cool. Tables and chairs were set up along the waterline, varying distances from the actual water to satisfy preference. People could sit with their feet in the lapping water, or remain decidedly dry, or somewhere in between. It was a neat concept, a unique spin on dining at the beach. "Where would you like to sit, Rin?"
