The suburbs, she decided, were not for her.

After returning home to her birth family, Esialeth discovered that her disappearance had changed the town dramatically. Her parents, once respected academics, were disgraced (as they should be) for their inability to raise a child. Esialeth had only come to retrieve some of her posessions, wreck some havoc, and disgrace her parents even more; by the time she was done, she was tired indeed. The monotony of the suburbs grated on her, and she was eager to leave.

Her visit did give her a nice sense of closure, though, and she returned to Rose Garden a little softer, a little kinder, a little happier. Or so she hoped.

She approached the Silver Moon Inn — the lay of the light and the cloying heat similar to her first arrival, but her emotions entirely different: less anxiety, a little more sonder, and with a greater appreciation for the little things, like the brave fireflies who made the balconies very pretty indeed.

Esialeth swirled her tongue in her mouth, tasting the last remnants of her raspberry tart, breathing in the humid night air. She felt her newly acquired magic swirl around the roses in the entrance-way — roses that she helped grow — plucked one off the vine, and settled it into her hair.

She entered the guild hall — her home, now. She smiled at the guild members — her family, now.

    "Did you miss me?"

The dull humidity finally ceases it sticky attack on the public. The sun highlights the crusted dust and glass cleaner in a twilight window. As the sun drops, so does the temperature, finally allowing for some breathable air.

It was a long day. First, a fight in the streets, a major hair-malfunction, and then a busy evening shift. After a vigorous night of barista work, he pulls a dank hoodie over his other outfit and pulls the hood taut. Sitting on a chaise lounge, he peeks from the peephole made by his sweater, and out the window, observing the people on the street. The late summer heat, finally dissipating, sweaty street traffic finally given relief to relax on the streets. he grips his legs and pulls them to his chest. Dosing off slightly, he blurs his focus on passerby for the moment.

The door opens with the brashness of someone covering their inner problems with cockiness.

"Did you miss me?" he hears a familiar voice ask.
He turns his head, hoping it wasn't a trick of his mind. "Esi?"

The interior of the inn was very well-kept, Esialeth decided. Whatever magic they used to clean the place left it spotless, but not sterile enough as to be unwelcoming. The tables were just rough enough around the edges that it gave a homey, sweet appeal. She glanced around, savoring the imagined warmth of the individual table lamps, and tried to puzzle out what happened while she was gone.

Had she dedicated even a bit more of her mental capabilities to her self-imposed mystery quest, she would have missed it: a voice, weak from overuse, and a cloak thrown dramatically — no, a...hoodie. Pulled tight by its strings.

Though the shadows obstructed her view, Esialeth was quite certain that the voice belonged to her best friend Seth. Not wanting to embarass herself by throwing her arms around a complete stranger, she squinted to get a better look. After recognizing the shock of cyan hair, she approached the figure swiftly, her smile breaking into a grin.

"Seth! Hey, bitch! It's so good to see you again!" Seth looked distressingly tired, so she hugged him for a long time. "What's got you all...oh."

His hair looked a little frizzy, but it still looked better than some of the other patrons'...but after years of friendship, Esialeth knew just how picky Seth was about his hair. She had actually taught him how to make her concoction that supposedly tamed it, but...

"You added too much laceflower again. I know it smells good, but...holy shit." Her magic scanned the air. "That is...so much. What the hell, dude..." she trails off, glancing around the restaurant. "Did you lose the ingredient sheet? I'll send it you you again. In the meantime, I should greet some other people. You should come with. We can have drinks!" She grinned again, though one could see that her tiredness was becoming more pronounced.

Wearing a blue t-shirt with white skirt and white tennis shoes, Victoria was sitting at the bar of Silver Moon Inn. Thanks to 18 hours of constant work from Victoria and other guild members, the bar was restored to almost brand-new. The smashed mirror had been replaced, as had all the drinks and the barstool that Francesca Corlone had trashed during her temper tantrum a day ago. Victoria would get even with that bimbo one day, but her revenge would have to wait.

Right now she had other matters to attend to. One of the most important was making sure that guild's moneymaker was running smoothly and that it had all the supplies it needed to keep raking in money. Victoria asked the bartender coming on duty after Seth had finished his shift.

"Um, let's see. We've got vodka, tequila, beer, ale, rum... it looks like we have plenty of all the alcoholic drinks. The redheaded female bartender listed off what they had. Then her face went sour.

"We're gonna need to order some Slatheron and some Albino Gander vodka, Victoria. We're running kinda low. Kinda low as in we have only three bottles of each left." The young woman announced.

"OK, got it. Thanks." Victoria said to her. She nodded and addressed a customer who had just walked in. Victoria wrote the note down to give to the person in charge of procuring supplies for the bar. She was about to go do just that when Seth began speaking to someone, a female. Victoria took a look... it was Esialeth!

Victoria remembered cleaning the inn floor of hair with the help of Esialeth. It seemed like a lifetime ago that Victoria had joined the guild and had performed that job. In truth it had been only a little over a month, but it had seemed like forever ago to the busy brunette.

"Hey Seth! Hey Esialeth! How's it going?" Victoria asked them both.
