    Job:

Truth be told, her mind was not on the job today at all. No, Sarisha was still thinking about her encounter with her old friend in Motor City, an old friend who had died by her hands. Sure, killing was a part of who she and her kill count seemed to increase by the day but there was just something different about killing someone that she had once known well. Her mind kept returning to their final moments together, inside her water dome. They had confessed their feelings to each other and made love but that was not what kept bringing the brunette girl's face back to the forefront of Sarisha's mind. It was her final words, spoken with a tenderness that even the pinkette had felt touched by. Part of the Goddess's magic was to literally absorb those she hunted in order to restore her life force but never had she actually been asked to do it. Melody had taken her hand and begged her to do it rather than face having to return back home after failing her mission. A plea that Sarisha had eventually agreed to, absorbing the life out of her old friend. The girl was a part of her now, in spirit anyway and she just would not go away.

With a sigh, she whistled to the two horses who were pulling the cart along and flicked the reigns slightly, ordering them to take the next right turn. The job was an easy one, deliver the goods to the Boomslang nightclub and it was proving to be just as uninteresting as it sounded. She had managed to hire the horses from someone in town, which had spared her from having to pull the cart herself. They were obedient enough and had not caused her much trouble although they had occasionally decided to leave a few gifts on the road. An action that made her smile. She cared little for Crocus anyway and anything that she could do to cause a little upset was fine with her. No one had attempted to steal her loot which was fortunate although anyone who was stupid enough to try it from her would end up having their head smashed in by her. The fact that her goods were mostly alcohol was a bit of an annoyance too as she was tempted just to run off with the cart and say nuts to her employer. He was a scum bag anyway and she could of quite easily followed through with that thought.

It was only when she was approaching the nightclub that things started to liven up as she soon found herself surrounded by a group of thugs, with a couple of them blocking her path and forcing her to a stop. She recognised the gear that they wearing from another job that she had done and she rolled her eyes slightly at the sight of them. They were not much of a threat to her but she soon began to feel the desire to shed some blood. Before they could even start to speak, she unleashed a geyser of water which sent a number of them and their bikes in to the air. She then jumped off of the cart and dragged one of the bikers off of his ride, pummelling him with with left and right handed punches, turning his face a crimson colour. The other gang members tried to ambush her but she began to spin in a circle and sent blades of razor sharp water towards them. Causing them to bleed and increasing her need for blood, before unleashing a cyclone of water to send them up in to the air. Her attacks had been so well combined and coordinated that the ground was already littered with bodies.

The leader wanted no part of her and was already running for his life but Sarisha was ready for him, summoning a whip of water and launching it towards the man. It caught him clean, wrapped around him and with a wicked grin, she started to drain his life force, using the whip as a conduit. It always gave her a buzz to use this particular skill and she chuckled to herself as she felt her own strength grow while weakening him. When the attack faded, she then turned around and picked up one of the bikes, before hurling it towards the fool, it flew true and landed right on top of him, causing him to collapse under the weight, killing him.

A simple fight but something that gave her a bit of a thrill at least and after a few moments, she quickly climbed back on to the cart and set the horses going again. The rest of the the journey was pretty quiet in truth and Sarisha quickly became uninterested once more. In honesty, she probably would not have even taken on the job if it was not for the amount of money that were offered. Ten thousand jewels was an awful lot after all and for a simple fetch and carry mission, it was an easy decision for her to make. A part of her pondered if there was something more to it but given the lack of difficulty, she quickly dismissed that thought. Maybe the nightclub was just in a desperate need or something. Anyway, the journey went without a hitch and she soon drew the cart up against the currently closed nightclub.

Climbing down, she swiftly approached the door and banged on it but received no answer and becoming annoyed, she left the cart where it was and quickly went around the back. The place seemed completely deserted but after noticing an open window and yelling for five minutes, the boss of the place stuck his head and got his backside in gear. Gathering his workers, he then opened the front door and his men started carrying in the booze, getting an ear bashing from the annoyed mage at the same time. When it was all said and done, she then clambered back on the cart and started the trek back to her employer. The trip back was nothing special either and by the time that she had returned the cart and taken her pay, she was well and truly fed up and eager to move on.

Her employer, however, was not finished and he soon started berating her about the attitude that she had shown the nightclub owner. Sarisha was in no mood for it though and gave him a piece of her mind as well, telling him exactly what he could do with any other menial jobs that he needed done. They both lost their tempers and it took all of her patience to not just smash his head in as well. In the old days, she probably would have handled it differently but the old Sarisha was gone, replaced by the more explosive figure that she was today. The longer she spent with Valara, the less she cared about humanity in general and by now, she truly could not of cared any less about them. He could stick it up his ass for all she cared.

When she finally left his office and made her way out of the building, the sound of the jewels jangling in her pocket, Sarisha made a mental note to herself that she would. never do such a boring job again. Ah well, it was another one complete anyway and she was ten thousand jewels richer for the trouble. With a shrug, she made her way down the road and off in to the distance, perhaps she go would back to the nightclub and have a few drinks, which would no doubt amuse the owner. In the end though, she decided against it and was content with just travelling for a while, until the next job came up anyway. She was becoming stronger and richer by the day and she was pleased with her progress, as was Valara, judging from the mental images that the Goddess occasionally sent in to her mind. There was a part of Sarisha that wished she could take the Goddess in to her arms again but that seemed impossible. They were locked together now for eternity and while the advantages were numerous, she sometimes wished that she could actually speak to her Godly companion, or perhaps express their fondness in a rather more intimate way.

As she left the city, she pondered about just how strong she could become in time. Could she overthrow the other God's and rule their domain? It was something that she knew Valara truly wished for but was it possible? They had yet to actually face another of her kind and although Sarisha was confident in her strength, a God was something else entirely. Far more powerful than any mortal and far more cunning too. There was much to do and she was not sure just how long it would be before her mettled would be tested against a worthy foe. A thought for another day as today, she was content with completing another job, as dull as it had been.
