He had been sitting on the floor of his room mediating for some time when a noise from his window caused him to open his eyes. Glancing over, he saw that the source of the sound was the black wolf that had become a sort of companion from him ever since he had arrived at the guild. Smiling a bit, he would get up from the floor and drift over to the closet where he kept his thick fur jacket and other clothing. Slipping into the warm furs, he would bundle up just enough to stay warm before heading down the stairs and to the guild doors.
Pulling the heavy doors open, he would slip into the coldness beyond where he was greeted by the black wolf. Nodding at the wolf, the mercenary would begin to walk tracing steps around the building before moving further out to scout the area and learn more of the layout of the place. He would move around the deep snows pausing every now and then to mentally map out the area. He would do this for a long while before his wolf companion gave a low bark and with a jerk of its head begin to head another way. Curious the mercenary would follow, wondering where on earth the wolf was going.
They would travel up an incline, the strain of gravity and the sucking snow working on his legs as continued upward until finally the area became flat again. Looking around, the mercenary would find that area was quite open and above a clear sky with a full moon to boot. It was a nice place and as good as any to rest, but before that he would need to collect some fire wood. The last thing he needed was to go stiff from sitting in the cold without heat.
