The Cattle

Ryo smiled as he waited for the others of his guild to arrive. He had been given this boat by the employer who was responsible for this mission. The mission itself wasn’t all that hard, Ryo and his two guildmates were supposed to go out and slay a monster taking his herd of cattle to bring them back to their employer. Normally, Ryo would have words but the monster itself was a serious threat. He killed anyone who landed on his island and he found, the animals there were likely suffering under the rule of this monster. He wasn’t sure that they were really helping the island seeing as they were taking the biggest source of food, but the herd of cattle were unlike anything that was normal.

He rested on the rail of the ship keeping his eyes on the docks so that he could watch for the people who were going to join him. As he sat there, he was dressed in his great coat, and the broad brimmed hat that protected him from the worst of the sun. He had all of his gear with him so there was no reason for him to want for anything. However, he waited and watched for the guildmembers to arrive. As soon as he saw them arriving, he looked to the captain of the ship and nodded his head “Once my two comrades are aboard then you can go ahead and set sail. Not before.” He said very clearly. He had to be very careful when he was getting on and off of ships. He was only thankful that the trip was supposed to be a short one as sailing trip went.

The trio were on board the ship and underway at last heading to their destination. However, Ryo had only told his companions that he needed their help, not what they were doing.

Wearing a green t-shirt and khaki cargo shorts with white tennis shoes, Victoria held onto her backpack and rushed to Cedar's harbor as fast as her legs could carry her. She was taking a job with the Guild Master and with Imai the guild Ace. She was already late because she was busy putting bottles of water and food into her backpack and she packed for three people. As a result the backpack was kind of heavy.

Victoria slowed down at the harbor entrance and dropped to a brisk walking speed. She looked for Ryo's distinctive red hat and coat. Wherever he was, that was where the brunette needed to be. She walked around and looked from ship to ship until she found the Sabertooth Guild Master standing on the deck of one of the boats. Victoria hefted the backpack onto her back and carefully walked aboard the ship.

"I'm Victoria Sheridan. I'm with the Sabertooth guild." Victoria said to a crewman in a blue-and-white striped shirt and brown pants while presenting her guild tattoo and the job notice. The man read over it and nodded, then returned the notice to her.

"Your friend over there's waiting on you. He specifically said that we weren't leaving until you and your other friend were on board." The man informed her.

"Thanks Mister." Victoria thanked the man for that welcome bit of information. She was glad that she had made it when she did. Ryo was not the kind of guy she wanted to keep waiting.
She calmly walked over to the man in red and spoke to him.

"Hi there, Ryo. Sorry about the delay." Victoria apologized to the Guild Master. She hoped that he would not be too upset with her. Being late was not a very good start to her first job with Ryo the Guild Master and Wizard Saint. Maybe she should have not spent so much time agonizing over what to pack for the trip.

Cedar’s docks had no sodas. What that meant was that none of the shops across the shore of Cedar sold any type of sodas or acidic beverages for the sodaholic Ace. This was a tad outrageous, because he needed his refreshment for the boat trip to one of the islands in the sea near this town. Also, he had to hurry a little - a few minutes more, and the boat might take off without him. That could mean a whole lot of awkward weight on his shoulders if he didn’t even make it in time for his mission with the Guildmaster and Victoria.

Maybe he should’ve followed her instead of insisting that he would catch up on her later. The lack of sodas was a huge disappointment, and his sigh was visible leaving his mouth and manifesting a small fog around his head. It was getting colder nowadays up to the winter, so he wore a blue coat that reached down to his knees as well as an extra-thick scarf. Sei hung around on the scarf next to his head, resting peacefully even without any clothes on.

He finally spotted the location where Ryo’s hat stuck out like a ray of light. Victoria was making her way to the ship as well, so he assumed that he made it just in time. He would gallop right behind the girl in his huge coat and nod at the crewman, stating: “And I’m Imai Uchuuken. Also Sabertooth.” The headband proudly showing the Sabertooth Crest confirmed his position as the crewman pointed him towards the others. “Hurry up, we’ll take off…”

Imai walked up to the docks and bridged the ship, feeling a tad funny about the strange movements of the surface thanks to the wavers beneath the deck. Sei woke up and looked around a little, releasing small, mew-like sounds like some kind of cat. “And we’re all here now!” he stated, sparkling joyously.
