One Coin Two Sides (Kyran/Privet)

Sol walked to the training grounds that were far away from the West Fiore Trading Company and he was in his normal clothing which consisted of a black Chinese shirt and black pants along with a pair of Geta on his feet, he had decided to bring his student Kyran here since he planned to reveal somethings to the demon possessed boy but before that he had to get him to the training grounds.”I do hope your ready Kyran how are you faring since out last fight?” he asked as he smirked back at the boy behind him and would grin a bit.


Sol remembered the last fight they had, it had been when he had introduced Kyran into the company and tested him. Of course it had been a one sided fight with the dragon being the victor but Kyran had proven that he was not to be underestimed.”I trust my size is not going to be an issue despite being so small I still have my full power” he explained so he knew the boy would most likely have question. When they reached the grounds Sols West Fiore mark would pulse with the symbol for Onyx Moon for a second before it would Pull the two of them into the alternate training ground for the guild.

Kyran strolled along behind Sol, marveling at the VP's transformation. The last time Kyran had seen him, Sol had dominated the room. There had been a presence about him. Now the VP could almost be described as cute. It seemed wise to focus on the well worn shoes on his feet rather than smirk at the VP's back. There was no telling if Sol had become more powerful since their last encounter. Especially since Kyran hadn't been on the island all that much recently. Damn Gruen. He should have been here forming connections with others. Sol's question startled him.

"I put some work in, both to better control my demons and fighting without magic. I can only hope that shores up some of my weaknesses." Kyran answered, scratching his jaw. The fight between Sol and himself had been decidedly one sided. It hadn't discouraged Kyran but rather increased his urgency to better himself. However, he wasn't one to think he could match up against the VPs...yet.

"I have no issues with your size, Sol." Kyran said. The rest of his statement was lost as they were transported into an alternate training space. Strange. This had been here the whole time? "Is there a reason you called me back to the Tolgalen?" He managed to ask once he found his tongue again. This place was amazing. He wanted to explore it, wanted to figure out the magic behind it. Could each training area accompany the same space, at the same time? Kyran tried to quell his natural curiosity as he turned back toward the VP.

“working to better ones self always makes you stronger, if you know your weakness then you can adapt and learn too get rid of said weakness,” Sol said in a approving manner since it seemed that Kyrans Demons had been a thorn in the young mans side for a while but the boy did seem much more in control, as he was told his size would not be an issue Sol smirked as they entered the training ground and there were others from the company there but they could not see or hear the two talking at all which would most likely confuse Kyran a bit as some of the company members phased thru them.

“I called you back here because I still want to take you as a student and to do that your going to need to know something that is not common knowledge “ he explained before he took a few steps away from Kyran and he held his hand out as from the shadows emerged his Onyx Moon Mask, Kyran would get to see a skull like mask with its face set in a rictus grin.”What I am about to tell you will not repeat to a Soul understand” he explained as he put the mask on and his form was wrapped in shadow before it grew and showed him at his regular height before it showed him garbed in his Onyx moon apparel. His chest guarded by what looked like a ribcage and he seemed to have a different Air to him one that was far darker then most normally saw when they met the dragon.”Now Kyran you will now know of a secret our guild holds. welcome the other half of the coin. Welcome to Onyx Moon” he said though his eyes could not be seen thru the darkness of the eye holes.

Kyran's eyes widened as the other guild members phased through them. This was some powerful magic. He loved it. He wanted to see more of it. However, it seemed like Sol had something important to talk about. For now, he shoved his curiosity away. It was a good thing the demons were asleep. Otherwise, Kyran might not have the chance to enjoy this new experience. He listened as Sol spoke about another side of the guild. It was hard not to make a Sol, soul joke but Kyran somehow managed.

"Onyx Moon? Interesting. What do you mean it's the other side of the coin?" What made another side necessary? Usually two sides of a coin were the light and the dark. Perhaps that was the case here. Kyran placed his hands in his pockets. "About your offer to mentor me... I'd like to take it now. I found a way to control my demons more thoroughly and once I obtain it, I'll no longer need to fear unleashing everything I have. Even if it doesn't work, you're more than powerful enough to keep me under control." He smiled slowly at the VP. "Anyways, what does Onyx Moon do?"

Sol smirked under his mask at how Kyran seemed amazed that the magic of the training ground and when Sol brought up the name Onyx Moon and what he ment by two sides of the coin the dragon chuckled a bit.”Simply put The Trading Company is the face we put out to the rest of the world very few know about Onyx Moon and we like to keep it that way some of us have bounties or dark tendencys that we need to vent and this side of the guild allows us that” he said before he quickly spoke again.”That’s not to say we are bloodthirsty murderers we take lives but only when absolutely necessary and while we are on that topic I will make this perfectly clear” he said before his red eyes locked onto Kyran under his mask and instantly killing intent could be felt coming off the dragon that was so strong it was as if Death himself was behind Kyran with his scythe at his neck.”You spill any information about Onyx Moon to the public and every member of the trading company and Onyx Moon will be after your blood but it won’t get that far since Ill leave you bleeding on the floor before you can blink am I understood”Sol asked his tone was dark and his question at the end was straight to the point since if Kyran did spill at all then any of the higher ups would be taking his head no questions asked.


After a moment Sol lightened up and grinned under his mask at Kyran accepting his mentorship.”Very well Kyran Ill teach you much and I guarantee you will become a powerhouse but I want you to promise one thing for me and that is that with the knowledge and power I give you that you use it for the right reasons and for the betterment of the company” he asked knowing it was not an unreasonable request. At the question of what Onyx Moon did Sol cleared his throat before speaking once more. “well we do things that the West Fiore Trading Company cannot do. For example we might perhaps help someone sneak across the border when its obviously illegal but for the right reason, or perhaps thwart some kidnappers or human traffickers. Things that for the other half of the guild would bring up heat and trouble” he explained .”Onyx Moon does things that the law would tell us is wrong but we always try to do it for the right reasons and for that reason to keep the company image intact all members of Onyx Moon wear a Mask and have an alias Mine is Reaper.” He added as he gestured to his mask as he said his alias.”Now anymore questions Id like to make sure your well informed before we get any training done or we leave the grounds also I will be informing the Vice presidents and the Presidents of your induction into Onyx Moon” he added as he waited for Kyran to ask more.

Kyran merely stared back into the eyes of his VP. The excitement, the joy quickly leeched out of them leaving only a cold flat expression on his face. Death didn't scare him. He'd had the threat of death hanging over him since he was three or four. "Considering I have a death wish most days, that may not have been the best thing to tell me." Kyran's voice sounded rather bored. He held up a finger to let Sol know he had more to say. "However, telling would hurt people I care about. It's for their sake that I'll keep Onyx Moon a secret. Only for their sake." This luckily had nothing to do with WFTC shipping process. That exempted it from being told to his brother. Gruen didn't need to know about Onyx Moon. If Kyran said a word... his death would bring about the deaths of his daughter and siblings. Of that, he had no doubt.

Kyran listened carefully to Sol's explanation of Onyx Moon. An interesting concept and one Kyran had no trouble getting behind. His first mission had been of that nature. "It figures that all the higher ups are in Onyx Moon." He grinned ruefully. There was more to those mages then met the eye. A mystery Kyran knew he would never solve. "I'd like to know the other members in Onyx Moon so I know who it's safe to discuss it with or to take on Onyx Moon jobs should I need back up. Other than that, I have no questions."

“ I don’t suggest dismissing it Kyran death is not an escape” he said very darkly before Kyran mentioned that because telling would hurt people he cared about and it was for their sake that he would keep Onyx Moon a secret.”No you will keep Onyx Moon a secret not just for them but for the sake of everyone in this guild and company you need to consider what this will do to everyone not just you and the people you care about” he explained his tone serious and showed that he needed Kyran to understand how important this was.

“you make assumptions Kyran and that’s not a wise thing to do I never said that all the higher ups were in Onyx Moon and as for knowing the other members at this time I’ll have to decline however once you have proven yourself in Onyx Moon perhaps Ill share with you more member identitys but until then you will keep this to yourself understand?” Sol asked with his tone leaving no room for debate.

Kyran laughed under his breath. Sol had no idea who he was taking under his wing. After living under constant pain and terror, nothing made him dig his heels in more than someone being a hard ass. "Mr. Terumi. I lived for twenty odd years under the threat of death while being tortured by my own family. There is no reason for me to tell anyone about Onyx Moon when it will hurt the people I care about. All of whom reside under the mantle of the WFTC, bar one. Hurting the company hurts me. It's the only way to really hurt me nowadays." Kyran hoped that helped the VP understand. He wished he could tell Sol about the issue he had already been dealing with on behalf of the company. Onyx Moon truly was in no danger from him.

An eyebrow cocked at Sol telling Kyran he'd made an assumption. The WFTC was a tight knit, well run company. Something like Onyx Moon wouldn't fly under the nose of the various higher ups. Kyran had met most of them only once but he had a strong feeling there wasn't much that slipped by them. Even without knowing their individual powers, Ruvel, johann and Cirven gave Key the impression of very sharp, shrewd individuals. "As you wish, Mr. Terumi. Is there anything else?"

Sol simply nodded”I understand Kyran but I just need you to understand how important this secret is. After all to have this found out would hurt the company.” He explained before he removed his mask and showed him back in his 8 year old state.” Also while we are outside of the company you may call me Sol”he added before Kyran asked if there was anything else that he needed to know. At that the dragon could only sigh a bit as he quickly gathered the shadows and made two stools as he pulled out his kiseru as he put his mask away.” If your going to be my student then I suppose I should tell you a bit about my past” he said before he has his kiseru light and he took a puff of the foxglove and tobacco mixture before he spoke.

“Kyran I should tell you before I joined this company I was not a good person by any means, I am formerly a dark mage from Basilisk Fang I was the Ace of the guild and second in command” he said before he kept going.”I did so many horrible things Kyran I caused the downfall of guilds I tortured people and slaughtered so many innocent lives and many were in a berserker rage. I have no belief that I will ever be forgiven for the many lives I took but I strive for a better future that’s why I’m here I left Basilisk Fang and Cirven and the others gave me a chance” he said his eyes were very sad and they seemed to go from a bright ruby color to a dull garnet with his sorrow.”I cannot change my past but I hope that by taking the route I have I can keep others hands from being soaked in blood” he explained hoping that by telling Kyran this that the boy understood him a bit better now.

Kyran ran a hand over his face. His new mentor wasn't understanding whatsoever. Instead of trying to explain further, the redhead merely nodded. He wasn't sure how to explain his irritation either. He tended to get very formal when he was irritated with certain people. Sol was apparently one of them. "I don't think you need to do that..." Kyran said softly before Sol launched into his tale.

As Sol spoke of hurting many innocents, Kyran looked down at his hands. He could see the blood transposed over them. While probably not as soaked as Sol's, his hands weren't clean of innocent blood either. They never will be either. Malinda hissed in his ear. A violent shudder went through Kyran's body. "I understand... better than you could imagine." Kyran whispered when Sol concluded his tale. "My hands will never be clean."

When Sol heard Key whisper that he understood the feeling of having blood on ones hands the slayer turned his sad gaze to the boy before he also heard him say that his hands will never be clean. “Kyran I will not ask you what has happened in the past to stain your hands but I will always be ready to listen if you wish to tell me someday” he said before he reach out and touched the young mans hands gently to try and comfort him.”Young one your right the blood might never come off but you can prevent injustice from happening”he said as he sighed knowing it was very hard to atone for bad deeds.

Sol had no doubt he would never be forgiven but he would still focus on atoning for his sins.”always remember that when you take a life you bare that on your shoulders don’t let yourself forget but use it to drive yourself forward” he encouraged. Sol wanted to make sure that Kyran wouldn’t make the same mistakes he had .

Kyran was about to speak when Sol touched his hands. Though the touch was gentle, it took everything Kyran had not to flinch away. Very carefully, he pulled his hands away. "I hope I can trust enough to tell you the story. I would also like to request you not touch me unless we're sparring. The touch of another person is.... difficult for me to bear." He hoped his new mentor would understand and respect his request. He had no desire to offend Sol.

Kyran looked up at Sol after his mentor's words of wisdom. There was a strange light in Kyran's eye. "Some lives weigh heavier than others. Some lives are as light as air. Some that I killed deserved it. Most didn't. Yet the faces of the innocent blur while the faces of those that deserved it are as clear as ever. It's hard to move forward when the faces you want to remember fade and those you want to forget get ever sharper with age." Kyran looked away from Sol. There was a yearning in his soul for a kindred spirit but he didn't feel he could open up. Not yet. Hopefully, with time, it would be less difficult.

The moment Kyran asked that he remove his hands Sol quickly let go understanding the boys discomfort quickly.”Alright I understand but I reserve the right to overstep that if your in danger Kyran but other then that I will adhere to your request” he said. As Kyran looked at him and spoke of some lives weighing lighter then others and while some you might want to remember will fade ,the ones that you wish to forget would be the ones that always popped back up. At that the dragon nodded solemnly since he knew just how that felt and it was something that haunted him constantly.

"I know all to well how you feel Kyran and sadly many of the faces I wish to forget never seem to fade in fact they come back and torment me with my past sins,yet with all that I still push forward just like you must. You must acknowledge what you have done and by doing so you validate the existence of those lives you took so they were not trivial and maybe perhaps with time you can even earn the forgiveness of the innocent souls you reaped just as I try to do everyday” he suggested as he looked at Kyran with soft red eyes.” He gained a small smile as he saw a bit of himself inside the red haired boy and he wanted to help him.”As your teacher Kyran you can always come to me if it ever becomes to much just as I might come to you if I need someone to talk to” he offered.

"Combat is different. There it is necessary. Casual touching is what I struggle with." Kyran admitted, scratching the back of his head. He was glad that his mentor was consenting to the request. It was the first time he'd asked. He'd been terrified that whoever he asked would ignore him. Perhaps it was time to put a little more trust into the people of his guild. Maybe.

Kyran opened his mouth, then closed it again after Sol spoke. He couldn't go into why he couldn't acknowledge the deaths he'd wrought. At least some of them. Kyran managed to smile back at Sol however. "I'm still learning to trust people but I'll keep that in mind. Perhaps my girlfriend will help me further along that path. At the moment however, I cannot blindly trust in others."
