██████❅Homeland
✎There was once a country that's last was made up of mostly ice and snow, areas with soil under the land being rare. The common language was a form of draconic, this is due to most of the founders having been ice dragons. Eventually the nobility became dissatisfied with sharing the same language as common people, seeing themselves as something better. So they learned a variant of celestial using various spirits and summons to aid with that. This meant while most would have called the country vi thaczil di xarzith, nobility would have called it sa hwonn si thiahwit. Both translate to meaning a land of ice. The lands official name was created before any of the nobility had begun to form and settle, that being Thaczil di Xarzith. If one could become wealthy depended on many factors: your family, your race, and the God or Goddess you were a child of. The land had a spell put on it by its four founders. This spell helped the countries ice keep remain stable and intact. The temples in the country dedicated to certain gods were where the dead would go. There the bodies would be disposed of in a way that would either slowly, or quickly, take from the bodies until there is nothing left. What was taken would then be converted into magic and placed into the great spell over the land. The four founders were described as four Gods, these Gods not dying of old age. Despite that, they did die frequently. It is said that these deaths were for the better of the country, that they willingly poured their magic and ice essence into the lands spell and into the temples. The temples stored magic for in case of emergencies, or so it was said. The be a child of a god meant the connection one had with a god. This effected who was born with magic, what kind they could get, and what race they might be born as. DezLovaas(fate song) was their god of stability and earth. Those under him were typically born with a plant or ore based magic. Those with the least amount of connection to the god but still having magic from him were able to connect with or control animals. Those with a medium connection to him were commonly(but not always) be born as were person. Those born with a strong connection were born as werewolfs. Those under this god were commonly in the lower or middle section of the middle class. They could also get into high middle class, or lower nobility. HahdrimAl(mind destroyer) was their god of the sun and riddles. Those born under him were typically born with some form of fire or heat based magic. Ones with a middle connection were typically born as a type of fire creature, those with a stronger connection were sometimes born as a phoenix. Those with the stronger connection were also commonly able to summon spirits to aid or empower the magic user. The highest ranking fire users were middle nobility in rank, the lowest ones being as close as one can get to the absolute lowest rank without being a foreigner.
GliiwrWelun(Full Moon)was from the ice dragon family that was in charge of protecting the land before non ice dragons entered the land and it eventually became a full country. She was born as the Goddess of the moon and culture of her land. Those born as one of her children never became lower then lower middle class and reached as far as the royal family that existed in that country. Those born under her with the weakest connection commonly gained make magic. Those with a medium connection commonly gained ice magic. Those with a strong connection to her commonly had ice dragon features and could use light magic, or become summoners. Her twin sister GulBekif(Cold Depth) was the Goddess of the ocean and medicine of her land. Half of all her children were born half ice dragon, out of that half some were born a mix of dragon and sea demon, while some born only sea demon. All of those who are born part or whole demon were also with a hole in their soul. Those with a strong connection were likely to be born gender fluid. Those with a weak connection to the goddess were born with a wide range of different types of magics, but all generally things that bonded well with water. Those with a strong connection to her commonly gained ocean magic, less commonly they also gained ice magic or a medium like aspect to their ocean magic. Those with the medium aspect to their ocean magic were grabbed up by temples when they could. The job they could earn through the temple was often their only chance to escape a special rank that spelled lifelong poverty. Another job some familys used to get out of poverty and into lower middle class was merchant, but a family had to be very lucky or fortunate to get enough education and fortune to get there. Usually those under this goddess were labeled as trouble makers, this was due to GulBekif having thrown away her godhood. Her blood and reincarnation supposedly continued due to the continued belief in her, for she was the only one that had shown a willingness to break rules in order to help common people. She had been the only one that had shown signs to people that she did not consider herself to be above others. While the other three gods did not think that way, the people did not know this. Outsiders were welcome to move to the country when it existed, but outsiders were automatically sent to the lowest rank. This is due to outsiders having not been born within the lands magic, those not having any of the 'gods blood' in them. Each family of Lower middle class and up had a family mark that was a circular design. What the design was depended on the family. The center of the mark had a temporary image set there and their hair tied into a high pony tail until a child reached Puberty. At that time the family would take the child to a local temple for their Kear Di Naam(day of wisdom). During this special day, family would go to the temple with the child.
The childs body would be purified, were then a seal would be removed. The seal was something the lands spell put on every infant at birth. This was to prevent anyone from awakening early, giving those in charge better control over people. Those in the poor classes could also earn a child the chance at having a Kear Di Naam if papers were filled out showing that the child had a dedicated family. Be it the seal was or was not removed, magic appeared in the people of the country when they hit puberty. If the seal was not removed, they would never be able to find out if they had any past lives. During ones Kear Di Naam, ones symbol appears in the center of their family crest. This tells people how deep of a connection that child was born with to their god and can have an effect on their future prospective jobs. After ones symbol appears, family who love the child have the option of putting their marks on their back. To put ones mark on someones back in that culture was a symbol of family connection and love. Every so often a gods avatar would be born, which was another way of saying it was the gods reincarnation. If the child is discovered to be one of the four gods, they are taken to a temple and kept there. Those who have a family crest also have a family surname. The royal familys surname is TaqAnon. Those who do not bare that surname but bear the mark of the royal family are family members that are not fully accepted for one reason or another.
██████❅First Years
✎Once upon a time during the bronze age, there were two people. In what seemed like a rare metropolis of a country where most had it, they were both born without magical abilities. Because of their middle class ranked families, but could have still earned well paid jobs and been well off for the majority of their lives. Instead of seeing what they had, both looked at what the nobility classes had, as well as the royal palace. This led both down a path of power seeking. Their lives had never been had, but there was no way to become something important for either of them without turning to the darkness. They both willingly sold every part of their identity piece by piece to gain power, until not even their hearts remained. They met in a group of dark mages that traveled the country, killed for amusement, and avoided the law. One of the two became pregnant, but she didn't notice. When going into labor? On February 13th a baby was born and let to fall in the snow. Instead of being cared for, the newborn was left to freeze to death. What they hadn't noticed was a fire spirits interest in the newborn. It was that spirit that remained with the newborn, keeping him warm and calm until he was found. Who did find him was VersveshTrothar. She was twin sister to GulArytiss, who was the ruler of the country at that time. The newborn was alone, unmarked, and it was clear he was born in an area the dark group has passed through. On the other hand, he was born with deep connected traits of a child of GulBekif. This meant it may even be possible that he was the new avatar, but with how the gods were treated by the temples? She wasn't going to just hand him over to one so they could take all future choices away. Leaving him unmarked by family would be worse than leaving him to die, so she placed her own family crest upon his back. If she tried to raise him herself, her family would be more quick in noticing him. Her answer to this was leaving him for a well known doctor that was visiting the country. Fennos Omaras was temporarily using an abandoned building to treat people suffering from a recent outbreak of the cold death. Doctor Fennos Omaras did adopt the newborn as her own. She named him Haraka for how quickly he won over her heart. His strong and obvious blood ties to the land caused her to remain in the country, converting the abandoned building into a fully functional medical clinic that also happened to have bedrooms. VersveshTrothars plan had failed, leaving the infant in danger. The royal family had a history of culling the young brought into their family that did not meet certain standards in 'quality'. GulArytiss Sent the leader of the elite squad of the countries army to inspect the infant. His name was KiingowilKaldaka of the ThurkearUlnot family that mostly ranked in the upper middle class.
He personally was ranked at lower nobility class due to the number of his military accomplishments. This is why it was such a big deal when he arrived, saw that the baby was half demon and did nothing. Not only did he refuse to harm Haraka, but he wrote out a number of papers and put his symbol on each one to authenticate his opinion on the infant to avoid anyone else being sent after the newborn. His reason? He acted like a normal sweet infant. Not only that, but his very presence seemed to bring piece to what looked like was a very rough and aggressive woman. The baby needed a mother and Fennos needed a child that her damaged womb would never be able to offer. What kind of person would it make him to take that away? VersveshTrothar was grateful the infant was safe, but GulArytiss was upset that their families bloodline could possibly have a weak link in it now. If she couldn't remove the weak link, she wanted to work on making it a stronger link so it would not tarnish the families name. At the least, the child should have the proper last name and not be raised by a foreigner. It would normally be easy to prove any non royal wasn't as fit to raise a child as a royal, but Fennos was different. This was a genius doctor that was nicknamed the golden doctor, that kings and nobility have been known to purposely seek out to gain treatment from when their own personal doctors had failed. She had traveled many parts of the world, was fully literate and educated, and was the best doctor at that time. There was only so much wealth and family alone could prove. While being the royal family, it didn't mean they could break their own laws without consequences. This was how Doctor Fennos Omaras ended up being the official mother of a royal family member, VersveshTrothar being the official grandmother. The doctor had decided to create a book on health and medicine, filling it with her inspiration for remaining in place in the first place. She wrote about blood flow, magic flow, and information on the body that she had found true through experience. KiingowilKaldaka visited whenever he found an excuse to make it to the small town. VersveshTrothar visited often, though did not try to convince the rest of her family to do the same. She finished her first book when Haraka was 2 years old, using a publisher in the country to have it sold. Why? As far as she knew, the country was one of the few places that had printers that could copy books as well as enchant them to protect the book from wear and decay. When wanting to celebrate this achievement, VersveshTrothar suggested they could start having their own monthly itov dryicir(love gathering). This was a feast family in that country would traditionally have once every month to bond and celebrate each others achievements.
It was agreed, the two adults and one child starting to celebrate it together once a month. When Haraka was three years old, an outbreak of the cold death started on the day of one girls Kear Di Naam. She had been born with a hole in her soul and a demon had taken advantage of that weakness when she was most vulnerable. That was during the Kear Di Naam ceremony. VersveshTrothar tried to watch Haraka during the outbreak at first, but ended up having to leave for the capital to help her family with important political matters. KiingowilKaldaka used this as a reason to visit. He knew full well that a three year old that didn't want to stay away from a sickness and a swamped mother was a bad combination. Scooping the tiny tot from the clinic, the two spent a few weeks in the forest together. By the time the two returned to Fennos, the outbreak had finished up. After that KiingowilKaldaka started to join the monthly itov dryicir. This was a sign that he wanted to join that family. He being a single man and Fennos as single woman, it gave the appearance that the two had started courting. This became a scandal due to his high rank and her low one, becoming worse when he wouldn't deny it. This ended up resulting in GulArytiss demoting him and demanding he release his highest ranked summon spirit, a wind spirit that was called a zarlathil bekilip(natural disaster). Her reason for the demand? The spirit was too deadly to leave to someone connected to HahdrimAl enough to summon that wasn't also a creature of fire. Why did that matter? It was the suggestion that she didn't have the natural ability to tame passionate and deadly spirits fully. This suggestion would have been normally ignored by nobility and seen as insulting, but the scandal made her accusation look validated. KiingowilKaldaka knew that in the end of this mess, he would have to give up the family he was trying to become part of, or his summon. This was why he released his wind spirit summon from their contract. While there were nobles that tried to force the wind spirit into contracts and he let them try, each one died. With each death the spirit was free to return to the place it deemed home. Wind wasn't trying to kill them, rather he let them doom themselves. He gave the warning that he couldn't serve those lacking quality hearts, they ignored it. He was a wind spirit that was too close to death for those without a heart of certain strengths. Without those strengths, the mind would risk falling prey to the voices of the dead within him each time they fell asleep. The voices were the embodiment of the unrest taken from the dead, something he took in order to help spirits rest. It was a task he and all other wind spirits of his kind had the job to help with. To stop doing their job would eventually cause the them to weaken, then eventually become corrupted.
So of course he blamed those of flesh for their own deaths. He refused to become corrupted, and they had ignored his warning and had tried to force him into service. When people stopped trying to force him into servitude, he returned home to his former master and little Haraka.
