it's like cranes in the sky

It was cold, something that was especially annoying to the Bakedanuki as well as her fellow companions; they were flying among the skies of Mt. Hakobe, quickly trying to arrive as quick as possible to the Guild Hall of the Basilisks in order to accompany their guild in a visit of sorts. The cold was something they were not used to, as their primary location of living was directly within the trees upstream of the River Village, nearly untouched by the society of humans and other mages due to the dangers of the rapid and extremely large river that brushed directly under them. Luckily, with Chuu being skilled in the elements of fire, she was able to create two flaming skulls that would float on either side of them as they quickly blasted through the sky upon their glimmering broomstick; these would keep them warm for the time being, as the cold winds were pretty brutal during this time of day. Unlike the rest of the mafia of Black Rose, Yves, along with Olivia and Chuu, did not ride among the back of the Guild Master on their way to the castle on-top of one of the highest peaks of the mountain range. Instead, they were following scent and the trail that the mafia had left on their way here, as the trio of yokai were not exactly finished in producing one of their more potent potions that they had begun to concoct while the briefing was going on; it was a great feat of being an animalistic individual, as her senses were greatly enhanced upon her birth. As the three flew toward the settlement of the snakes at a rapid pace, Yves and Chuu sitting upon the broomstick as Olivia flew directly next to them through the skies with her giant black wings, they were all in their normal forms with their tails, ears, and wings showing in full, not hiding a single portion of their true appearance in any form of disguise. The fluffy brown tail of the alchemist fluttered through the skies as they got closer and closer to where the trail had been leading them to, along with her flowing garments, hair, and scarf.

Yves was entirely neutral about her guild's decision to propose an alliance to one of the more dark guilds of Fiore, along with the revealing to her of the secret mafia that was residing within their ranks. However, much like their personalities, Olivia was a bit scared with the idea being presented to her as well as shocked, while Chuu was absolutely delighted. The girl of dark brown hair and tanuki ears among her head had a feeling that something was hiding in the guild of Black Rose, as she could almost sense it within the members of the guild's eyes upon the day that she had been stamped in; she was not the most surprised within the briefing a few hours before the time that was present, and felt as though she would be able to greatly contribute to the mafia in the roles of the Leaves and the Stigma. After all, she was slightly well known upon the small villages of Fiore for being an exquisite alchemist and healer, being greatly skilled in brewing powerful potions and elixirs infused with magic as well as funding great research with the magical, circular glasses that she held among her face. It was something that came naturally to Yves, and was now coming skillfully to her two little helpers (especially Olivia). It would be no doubt that she would now most likely have to add Basilisk Fang to the list of those that she delivers the hand-crafted potions to all across Earthland, as she did with Black Rose and some of the other alliances that had requested for them (with a bit of payment after the first few orders, of course). She would probably inquire with one of the members, if not the Guild Master, after the big talk had occurred.

As they flew up the mountains, the white winds of snow and cold air would gently reveal a large fortress of stone and metals, those of which appeared as if they were slightly worn down from existing for quite some time. Commanding her broomstick to slowly descend downward, Yves and her followers would eventually land upon a small patch of stone that was jagged and directly in-front of one of the doors that would lead into the castle of sorts; while the alchemist held a calm look on her face, Olivia and Chuu held entirely different looks, both on other sides of the spectrum; Olivia looked slightly scared, while Chuu held a face that looked as if it was grinning with her eyebrows pointed and all. Holding her broomstick tightly within her hands as Olivia's wings shrunk downward to a smaller size, Chuu held her skulls of fire within her hands and kept herself greatly warm in doing so (as she was really cold); Yves would push the door open and hold it for the other two yokai to come inside, advancing in behind them directly afterward and slowly walking down the decadent rug that stretched across the large corridor toward a statue of sorts. There were a plentiful amount of people in here; some familiar faces, some not, and an equal abundance of men and women. The alchemist would roll her eyes at this and display public disgust, as she much preferred there being a bigger population of women, though she would avoid those manners due to their attempt at a good impression as well as her being late. She would simply advance toward where Izayuki was located within the room, presumably talking with the Guild Master of the guild they were visiting, and would prepare to sit down a few meters away against one of the large columns that stretched upward to hold the building together.

"Ugh, there is so much dust on this floor. You know dust is dead skin, yes?" she would speak to the Crow Tengu and Nekomata, sweeping the floor with her broom to clear the dust from where they would sit. "Y- yes. I'm just... really cold is all." the girl of short, black hair would speak as Chuu would giggle, allowing one of her two flaming skeletons to float directly in the middle of the three as they sat in a circular position. Reaching into one of her pockets, the woman of brown hair with the fluffy tail would pull out three blunts of cannabis; she would pass two of them to her companions, which would smile and gladly take them in order to smoke. "You're lucky I brought these, I assumed we would need them." Yves would speak in her normal voice, which would sound a bit like someone which was an elder, leaning forward to light the blunt before beginning to smoke. The other two would follow, Olivia finally cracking a smile (which was her first on this day) as they would inhale the smoke before blowing it outward toward the ground. While they were smoking, Chuu and Olivia would look around as Yves would have her eyes set directly on the conversation that was occurring between Izayuki and the boy of black hair. It could be perceived as eavesdropping in a sense, though she would simply listen in just in case she would have to beat the shit out of someone with her magical broomstick. With one eyebrow raised as she listened to what the boy had to say, she would slowly raise the blunt to her lips and inhale, causing small flakes of ignited rolling paper and weed to fall onto the stone and put themselves out into darkness.

Irina seemingly wandered about the place not really paying attention to anything, she was just looking for the mother load of food storage in this place. Then there were drinks and of course they were worthless to her given that she essentially turned it into water when she drank it. Then there was the special stash that was apparently significantly more potent than the standard boring stuff. Unsheathing her blade ever so slightly she disappeared from her position in the room and appeared right in front of the male with the booze. "If it's so much more potent than that boring stuff, then prove it, make me drunk." She challenged unsheathing the sword fully whacking one of the bottles of alcohol out of Iris's hands with the blade sending it bouncing throughout the room at bullet speed until she finally sheathed her sword and caught the bottle which through all that had been left unscathed. Looking at the label she read it out loud. "Vodka... it looks like water to me." She grumbled looking at the clear liquid inside the bottle, there was no way that this would even get close to nullifying the purifying qualities of her own magic which killed alcohol like it was some sort of germ. "I guess as mortals say, Bottoms up." She announced as she uncorked but bottle and started chugging the whole thing.

Vodka? Did someone say vodka? Victoria was there. She let Izayuki handle the discussion with her opposite number in Basilisk Fang and let Kiru glare at everyone like an angry... well, an angry staring person. Vodka needed drinking.

Victoria eagerly sidled up to the bar, but she had company. Beside her was a red-haired young woman who was also in Black Rose. The redhead looked kind of skeptical about the quality of the alcohol. The wine had potential, but the execution was lacking. It did not have much taste aside from "water."

Maybe the vodka would be different. The redhead already had a bottle in her hand and was about to sample its contents. Victoria seized her own bottle.

"Hey there. Mind some company?" Victoria asked the young woman as she uncorked her own bottle of vodka. Vodka was one of the brunette's favorite alcoholic drinks, either straight or in the form of a Screwdriver. Maybe Basilisk Fang's vodka was better than the wine. Not that it was a particularly high bar to reach, but there was always hope.

The holy mage's eyes fell upon the general perimeter of Basilisk Fang guild hall, somewhat intrigued by all the different interactions going on. If someone didn't know any better, they could have played this off at the idea that it was two guilds who were meeting for a very impromptu party. Although, based on the glare that Kiru had decorating her face, it wasn't a nice evening for everyone here. In a gentle flash of golden light, Arthur would appear next to Lilium as he whispered into her ear, "You aren't actually going to drink that are you?" The holy mage's eyes fell onto the wine in her cup as she chuckled. She honestly hated to drink alcohol in all honesty and she mainly said what she said to loosen up the air. It seems it worked fabulously so with a snap, the chalice was sent back to Arcadia as she looked to her Heroic Spirit. "Of course. You know I wouldn't drink that." Arthur smiled as he walked over to the bar before Lilium grabbed the hood on his jacket. "Drink in Arcadia. I don't want you to be around this in all honesty. A lot of these people are probably going to be bad drunks." Arthur sighed before rolling his eyes and began to shimmer with gold. Before he left however, he stated to her, "Just finish whatever you have to do here without pissing too many people off please." The Wizard Saint chuckled as the Heroic Spirit retreated back into Arcadia to drink with friends. Turning back to the guild, Lilium would wander a little bit to see what exactly was going on.

It seems everyone was having a blast with drinking, with some tension between the Basilisk Fang members and Black Rose members that were talking about their alcohol. The holy mage's glance turned towards the stairs where she heard a small voice call out to Ahote, the guild master of Basilisk Fang. There, she'd see a small child that was almost scared of all the tensions that were happening and watch as he ungracefully tumbled down the stairs. The holy mage choked back a chuckle as she walked up to the boy and knelt in front of him. "If you want to be heard, you're gonna have to speak up." The holy mage's eyes would fall onto Ahote as she looked at the man who was seemingly more and more intrigued with Izayuki but drop his cup in shock when he took note of the call from the boy, who was named Theo. "Or you could manage by surprising him." The holy mage would step to the side as she walked over to Kiru who managed to keep the scowl on her face for a while. "You know, Kiru, if you keep that glare on your face it might get stuck that way." The Wizard Saint would take note of Iza's instant teleport behind the small child who was directed to speak with Kiru instead of potentially starting an all out brawl in the guild hall. Waving politely, the holy mage would say, "Nice to meet you." The holy mage would look to Kiru as she waited for her response to the small child.

Akily felt a chill go down her spine as she looked behind her. Looking over her, was the guild master from the "legal" guild in front of her. Although, she was there, Akily had no fear of her. There was one reason, and only one reason why she had decided to move. She didn't respect the guild master's strength, she didn't care for the fact that the guild master had basically just threatened her, it also wasn't the fact that the women had literally just pushed her away. Those things were useless to her reasons. The only thing she actually cared about, was the need to know what she was doing here. Knowing what the woman wanted, was way better for the thoughts of Akily. As long as they were doing something good for the world the Universe Spirit made, she had no judgement from elsewhere. So, she listened to what the rude guild master said and began to slowly walk to the white/black haired girl. As she looked over towards her, another girl stood next to her. This girl seemed to be one of every single magazine. The girl who was deemed to be perfect by everybody. She looked at the sad excuse of a human, and wondered if her looks was the only way she climbed up the ranks. Akily eyed her, wondering what this girl could actually bring to the table both strength was, and personality wise. All Akily could tell for right now, was that she didn't deserve her respect, even more so that she was an adult. Walking up to her, Akily smiled, and then gave her the cold shoulder.

Akily didn't even stop to talk to her. All she did, was walk up to the girl she was ordered to talk to and just observed her for a minute, maybe two. As she stared at her, she wondered what this girl was about. She seemed to be around the age of 19, or maybe in her early twenties. However, Akily knew for sure that she was not one to be respected. She had become corrupted by age, no matter how much it has spread. As Akily looked at her, she began to see that the girl was frustrated. She obviously didn't want to be there, at all. Akily did a little scoff in her head, actually agreeing with her. Akily hated this with a passion. She didn't want to talk to people that she had no respect for, at least not now. Either way, the powerful tanuki lady from before forced her to. So, Akily rolled her eyes, and with a deep and annoyed sigh she said, "So, neither of us wants to be here. Let's talk about that."

Remaining in place, few spouts of laughter reverberated within the mass that was scattered throughout the gloomy appeal. Through the sway of strands that teased his wavering expression, clearly he'd left himself abashed in this shameful introduction. At least not the entirety of the room had brought themselves as interested enough just to acknowledge he'd even taken a tumble. Just as he gathered the motive for taking a stand, the proximity of a sudden figure spoke out, her velvety voice grasping onto the sullen stare of his captivating eyes. There must have been an appeal for the current state, either that or it was the poke of amusement, the one thing he'd absolutely hated. Furrowing in disdain that he had seemed as so was discarded simply upon that. By then the pretty girl had ambled elsewhere and his friend left startled, allow the mug to slip past his grip, shattering outward into tiny pieces.

"What--" severed by the possibility of a sour advance, the woman to the front of his friend had taken the bold initiative to take his gaze elsewhere. Few seconds allowed Theo to stand there with a bit of alarm that someone could so easily touch another, not that there was anything to stop them. Rather he was growing frustrated. Being here was honestly not in his best interest, the crowd he'd certainly disliked, especially when it was probable that they were not apart of this place. Even then Ahote was drawn toward such manners, allowing him to comprehend the importance of the situation. Just as it had been from the first time they met.

Silent for awhile, observing the pair with a still hostile look, innocent in the features that had now become so youthful-- Theo started to walk forward. "Oi--" he'd say, jerking a foot into the shin of Ahote, unaware that it may of hurt despite his small size, "Hate to interrupt your talk, but I need to go and do better things." glancing upward at the woman, there was certainly something gratifying about her presence. She had an apparent wave of energy, vast and intimidating in comparison to the rest of them. No fear struck his features however, rather he was more concerned for his friend. Regardless of what confidence Ahote held, he was still as naive and childish in their very first encounter. It seemed reckless to embark elsewhere in this time, yet what was he meant to do in such a state? "Whose this?" he'd questioned with clear venom tracing his words, though from their point of view it might have seemed adorable.

    KIRU NIVANI
    ??? Words

Everything about this place felt off to Kiru. The room itself was thick with the scent of alcohol which burned the demon slayer's nostrils. After seeing the situation for herself Kiru could deduce her guild were well enough protected against any tricks the snakes might play on them... She didn't need to be here. However, the thought of trudging through the cold all the way back down the mountain and to the guild didn't seem like a good plan to the twin haired wizard. Not now anyways. After all.. The cold was the ONLY reason Kiru came inside. She continued to conjure up her own little rainstorm in the corner where she sat, her expression locked in a dark glare as she stared at both guilds from a distance. Izayuki of course didn't seem to care anymore what Kiru thought. If her actions were any indicator at all. One thing would be made clear though before this was all over. Iza could drag the guild down into a pit of snakes and be consumed by their greed... But Kiru would not have any part of it. If they were going to overthrow the council, the ace of hearts would not work with any of these murderers unless people's lives were at stake... And even then she may still have second thoughts.

It wouldn't take long for someone else to notice Kiru however. Even if Izayuki had dismissed the girl's entrance another member of her guild wandered over to her corner of hatred. Lilum, fellow ace and guildmember of Black Rose. From what Kiru could tell, her first words were an attempt to cheer the demon slayer up.. They didn't seem to have any effect on the girl. She simply turned from staring at Iza to looking straight at her in the eyes with the same hateful expression. It was clear Kiru was not going to find any sort of humor in this meeting. Kiru wasn't even sure if she was ready to speak to anyone. Even if it was another ace from her guild. In her eyes, Lilium seemed just as guilty as Iza in this regard. Either the holy mage had blind loyalty to their guildmaster, or simply did not care about the circumstances. Either one didn't strike Kiru as good. It was clear now that her anger wasn't directed to a single person, but rather to almost everyone here. As far as Kiru could see, she was the only one who thought this was wrong. Nobody else gave a damn except her. "Your attempts at humoring me aren't well warranted. I'm sure you know why by now." Kiru stated flatly with just enough venom in her tone to get her point across. She continued to stare at Izayuki and watch the conversation with the dark guild's guild master play out. And soon something else happened that could only sour the demon slayer's mood even more.

It appeared as if a child had been caught almost ready to attack Iza. Instead the woman turned her away towards Kiru and Lilium. Kiru knew this kid wasn't part of her guild, so that must've meant she belonged with these criminals.

The girl appeared just as annoyed with this situation as Kiru did. Although she didn't think it was for the same reasons. Kiru still found it strange that this guild full of murderers and criminals employed the help of children... What did she do to get here? Kiru wondered, but these questions would not take form for anyone else to hear. She confirmed Kiru's thoughts when she stated that neither of them wanted to be here and they should talk about that. Kiru sat still and stared at her for several long seconds with the same glare she had been giving everyone here before finally opening her mouth. "I don't have much to say to you child... Perhaps my guildmember Lilium feels more talkative..." It would take more than a single sentence to make Kiru calm down enough to have any sort of civilized discussion with anyone here.

    Kiru is not happy.

Izayuki Hyoujin ♦ Black Rose ♦ H Rank

“What’s in it for you?” the tanuki echoed as she moved back towards Ahote, a sly grin on her face. “Well, I would say whatever you choose for your reward. What do you plan to make of yourselves once your goal has been completed?”

The Black Rose guild master pushed past Ahote, her fluffy silver tail brushing gently against him before she stopped. “You could ask for anything. Fame, riches, immunity from the law or pardon from past misdemeanors and felonies. You could be the shining heroes on the pedestal, or the most dastardly villains in the eyes of the public,” she said, pausing in her steps as she brushed her tail away from Ahote and flicked it in curiosity. “Black Rose wants independence for all guilds. We want guilds to choose what they wish to do, and not be persecuted for not aligning themselves with that corrupt organization. As far as personal goals go-- they vary.”

Izayuki could feel Kiru’s glare bore into her from afar. She was aware of her ace’s thoughts on the matter, but had yet to truly address them. For now, she was wanting to get Basilisk Fang on their side in order to put the dark guild to good use. The tiny Theo approached the guildmaster duo to speak. The venom in his words indeed was cute, and ignited a brief chuckle from the tanuki girl. “You should show a little more respect to your guild master, child,” Izayuki said, a glint of threatening venom in her gaze. This dark guild certainly was full of children. That fact made her question how they got there. Did they have nowhere else yet to go or had they been forced to join the guild of serpents? The Bakedanuki could not help but wonder.

Whether they got drunk or not, Iris didn't care. He was thrilled the red-head and the brunette were enjoying the vodka...or at least drinking it. It wasn't magical or anything. Just really dang good and probably expensive and rare. It was Aeluri's after all. Now that he thought about it, it was a surprise she wasn't beating him half to death over this. Oh well. There was always later~

Now that he had some Black Rose audience, he could proceed with the entertainment portion of his hosting abilities! With a sly grin, his beautiful purple eyes shifted between each girl, then to the sassy crowd in general. These people needed to loosen up! It wasn't like anyone was gonna die. There was a time and a place for that, plus they'd never get the blood out of these dusty old rugs and rough hewn floors. No, this was a time to make some friends! Why did guild visits always come with such hostility. It was a visit, not a battle. Sheesh.

"Who would like to see a magic trick?!" Iris asked everyone in a loud voice, adopting the dramatic flare of a performer as he drummed his hands on the bar counter. Sure, probably everyone here was a mage with literal magic, but even though this was his one of his usual abilities, it usually went over pretty well with a crowd. It was fun for him, too. The endless possibilities! "Have you ever seen a rabbit pulled out of an eye? Well, I can't guarantee it'll be a rabbit...but it'll be something. Observe!" Iris reached out a hand and pointed a finger at Irina's eyes. He didn't get near them, so there was no danger, but his hand did glow very slightly. This would cause no pain and actually not harm Irina in the least. She probably didn't even feel anything. "Let's see what this lovely lady's potential is worth~" he purred, just as a soft "pop!" happened and he found something in his hand. A small something. Looking down, the ocular mage paused. "A button," he said flatly. Talk about anticlimactic. His lips unwillingly curled into the upward shape of mirth, his eyes flickering to the Black Rose member before him. He held up the small, completely flat, utterly dismal gray button with only three holes. It was possibly the most boring button ever made. "Apparently, your eyes have about as much potential as this button," Iris snickered, not impressed but incredibly amused. After all that showy stuff with the sword and the bottle, he'd really been expecting better.

His eyes turned on the brunette, hoping for better luck. He pointed at her eyes. "Care to wager what I might pull from your eyes, miss?"

Irina stared blankly with disappointment as the alcohol rolled down her throat, this stuff actually was water to her and she didn't even get a buzz. However someone else decided to be obsessed over the stuff which to each their own, but the red haired goddess was probably going to have to clean up after this one. Then came the cheeky magic tricks from the violet haired boy on the counter which was quite odd given that everyone could use magic, or was this one of those worthless stage performers who used all sorts of slight of hand. That is when he pulled out a grey dull button which made her uncovered eye twitch which anger, that was not the potential of her eyes and she was going to have to show him what the true value was. "Oh how insulting, you didn't even bother to clean the button properly." She had the face twisted between confidence and anger as she let a little bit of the power within her radiate which caused her hair to rise revealing her covered eye which had once been red and now turned to a cosmic violet with a storm of magic within. Just looking at the button was enough to let the magic take hold as her eye stripped away reality turning the button into solid silver, a color befitting of herself. "Now that it has been cleaned up I suggest to reevaluate the button." She taunted still a bit angry with his insult.

Despite his eyes drawn to other places, Ahote listened attentively to Izayuki's proposition. From the looks of it, the proposed alliance was too good to pass up. Not a moment passed before Ahote resolved to accept it, they, Basilisk Fang, had nothing to lose, after all. Perhaps even the blabbering fools that surrounded him most days would find the idea as thrilling, if not more, than the raven-haired master did.

As the petite woman's honeyed words slithered off her tongue and into a puddle of silence, a quizzical grin stretched across his pale complexion from ear to ear, "Oh, this is just. . ." he gushed, cheeks hot with blush and waves of braying laughter washing over his words. Ahote held his forehead just in his metallic fingers, struggling to maintain his collected composure, "Truly we both see the irony in this, yes? Not that it matters." his gaze returned to Izayuki's, who couldn't make it more obvious that this entire proposition was made to use him and his assets. It's what any scoundrel worth their salt would do.

Ahote's grinning descended into a sheepish simper once again, his eyes sharp with captivation as the fluffy tail brushed against him. The man knew that even if he were adamantly against this proposal he would struggle to resist agreeing with it with the teasing alone. Or, so he thought it was. From what he could assume, he thought this was teasing, but his sheltered experiences shrouded him in doubt. Though, clearly, other things seemed to distract others. In the back, Iris announced something akin to a magic show, but any serpent with some sort of mental disease could understand that it'd turn out more like a horror show than one of magic. No man obsessed with eyeballs could possibly conjure up anything child friendly -- or adult friendly.

If one thought it was the suspense between all groups atop Mt. Hakobe that kept the raven-haired man from saying anything else just after his tangent of laughter, they would find themselves to be obliviously incorrect as it was actually a strike of pain that made him jolt and jerk down to see what had struck him. To no surprise, it was his tawny, much smaller companion, Theo. Ahote's countenance darkened, his eyes burning with contempt. "There are cuter ways to get my attention like that, you prick. . ." he hissed in a hushed voice, words wet with anger. Sluggishly, he reached down to snatch Theo from the ground into his arms, hugging him suspiciously tightly to his chest, "If you leave this mountain you're going to get abducted." he finished, knowing that what he said was relatively close to the truth. No one would just leave him be, that was for sure.

Ahote's attention returned back to his captivating visitor once more, his expression far more peevish than before. "I'm sorry about that. Well, I'm sorry about all of this, really. Please don't be upset if one of your comrades leaves ill, we really don't moderate any substance here." he confessed, and while his words seemed amusing, they were dripping with solemnity. His eyelids drooped down on his topaz pools as he paced over to her, extending a fleshy hand out towards the Master of Roses, "We'll happily accept this proposition, and you can start by replacing our rugs. And the chairs. Or just a handsome amount of jewels, that'll please us just fine."

As Iris passed out her collection of fine liquors, Aeluri seriously contemplated chopping his hands off and slapping him with them. The glare of the red and gold eyes that he so desired to obtain was now boring holes into his head. She didn’t think the unfamiliar mages deserved to so much as look at the fine drinks in her stash, but it was too late now. Their greedy hands and mouths had already taken action and her precious liquors were starting to deplete. Luckily she took care to hide her most expensive drinks far away in the fortress, out of any buffoon’s invasive reach.

Forcefully swiping a bottle of honey bourbon from her stash, the dark mage plopped down on a barstool with a huff. A quick series of movements resulted in a yellowish drink sitting before her, a whiskey sour with a cherry and orange slice on top. As she took a sip, Aeluri’s features scrunched up at the tart flavor. The bourbon did not bother her, but the lemon juice was sweet compared to her mood.

She watched as Iris entertained the other guild with tricks, always the Poster Boy. Mismatched eyes focused in on the button he had pulled from the Black Rose mage’s eye as she turned it silver. The dim light of the tavern reflected gloriously off of the tiny piece. For such a small, valueless item, it seemed beautiful. Aeluri was filled with a sudden urge and she darted forward off of her comfy barstool, appearing before Iris. Being descended from a speedy warrior was certainly a benefit to get to and fro swiftly. “I’ll take that if you don’t mind~” she said slyly, a grin adorning her once grumpy face. Her delicate hand plucked the shiny silver button from the other mage’s grasp. In a blink, she was back on her barstool, removing an old button on her shirt. The silver one would be a nice replacement!

After attaching her new adornment to the white blouse, Aeluri took another sip of her drink. The once plentiful stash of expensive drinks was depleting fast and she wasn’t sure how or when it would be replenished. Perhaps she could convince her teammates to go on a well-paying job. Gazing around the room, the mage observed her guildmates and the Black Rose guests. Despite the other guild’s sudden arrival, things seemed to be going smoothly. Sonya - well, Juniper - was offering her awful cookies to the unfamiliar mages. Aeluri secretly hoped that some of them fell for it and succumbed to the terribleness of the usually sweet treats. Turning a bit more, she noticed that Ahote and the female guildmaster - Izayuki, did he say? - could be heard in deep discussion. Aleuri’s curiosity got the better of her, so the young woman found herself pacing towards them, hoping to hear more.

“Pfft, rugs? First, how about you replace the entirety of my top shelf that your mages are chugging?” she suggested to Izayuki with a raised brow, only half joking. Meanwhile, her hand snaked around behind Ahote, pulling an item from his pocket gently so as to not alert him. Unnoticed, Aeluri exhaled slightly in amusement. The guildmaster seemed to be distracted by a tiny Theo and the woman before him.

“Actually,” the dark mage considered as she brought her arm forward, a most mischievous smirk sitting upon her face, “I think Ahote’s money will be sufficient for now.” In her hand, twirling between her elegant fingers, was the guildmaster’s wallet. “We don’t turn down generous donations though, so feel free to contribute, Madame Guildmaster,” she finished with a wink.

Through most of the proceedings, she was simply perched on that unlit chandelier, laying there as her guildmates and the members of Balisk Fang bantered at each other. For the Inugami? The more tense things got the better off she was, no one here really liked each other all that much and the negativity it bred was delicious. It was not often that she got to just lay back and feed on energy like this, normally there was some sort of disaster she had to work to stop, she had to work to eliminate her own food source because of her status as a legal mage. In this situation? There was no cost to just laying there letting things get tenser and tenser, letting the negative emotions and mistrust rise higher, grow stronger. While everyone spitefully threw comments, hated being here or silently mistrusted the other half of the room? She simply occasionally stabbed her claws into the overflowing energy of the room and discreetly slipped it into her mouth. This was one of the best idea's Izayuki had gotten in a long while.

Jiyu was content sitting on the sidelines with her occasional remark until she heard what sounded like they were trying to hustle her guild master. Having lived on the streets and across ships for a good time, experienced gambling and anything else she had gotten into before going legal? She knew that they wanted the money just from listening. "Izayuki." the canine rolled off the chandelier, dissipating into dust before she reformed standing next to the Bakedanuki, yet another cloud of black negative energy wrapped around one of her hands. Even if she was deciding to get involved somewhat now? Nothing was going to stop her from feeding while she could, sure her own malice sustained her, but to make excessive use of her diety abilities like shapeshifting and such, she needed to consume here and there. "We could fix a few things instead." she had to avoid fire even though she was fantastic at smithing, but she was still good at most every other form of craftsmanship.

After making her comment on a way that Black Rose could come away from this cost-free? Jiyu slowly consumed the negative energy she had gathered on her hand once more.

Izayuki Hyoujin ♦ Black Rose ♦ H Rank

The Bakedanuki watched the other guild master in approval. He was agreeing with her words, and she could not help but notice his captivation at her teasing. The child interrupted, but was quickly met with Izayuki’s rebuke and the sudden grasp of Ahote. Izayuki grinned in amusement as the guild master of Basilisk Fang held the child quite close and tight. She had to give credit to him-- he was running a daycare, but still seemed to be able to muster the patience to deal with the numerous children in his dark guild. How bad could he really be?

The woman who approached them seemed far darker than the raven-haired master could ever be. Before Izayuki could reply with an amused and snarky comment to their chugging of the booze, the woman managed to pickpocket Ahote and claim his wallet as her own. He truly did have his hands full, it seemed. The Bakedanuki listened to Jiyu’s sudden input, but only shook her head with a sly smile. Slowly, she would begin to circle the guild master, arms comfortably behind her back and near the base of her tail.

“Don’t misunderstand, Ahote,” she began to respond with a smile, amused crimson eyes beaming at the raven-haired man. “My request for an alliance is no promise to use you or your assets, nor does it mean you have any right to mine. We simply will ‘help’ each other when it comes to our mutual goal. Besides...”

The Bakedanuki stopped circling when she was once again in front of Ahote, at very close proximity. Another clawed hand shot up to stroke his cheek and neck ever so gently. One claw, however, traced a jugular vein on the side of his neck before moving so delicately and softly to his cheek and chin with the rest of her hand. This action was disguised from the rest of the guildmembers, including her own, as it was meant to be a quiet warning to Ahote and only him. She was implying that the proposal was no joke, and that he would be wise to think before attempting to take advantage of her guild and good will. “What can you offer me and my guild?” Izayuki concluded with a smile close to his face, and a hushed, expectant voice.

Among the hooligans who were busying themselves with their guests, the brooding Aeluri seemed to give only to give a shred of her attention to the chatty masters. But to no one's surprise, her fingers would slip in and out of the pale-faced Ahote's pockets to retrieve his leather wallet. He turned to face her with a perturbed look gleaming across his face. Though, Ahote was convinced it was his own fault for securing his belongings in such typical places in a guild of pickpockets and inquisitive thieves. Quietly, Ahote sighed contemptuously, "I can't afford half of the stuff you drink, Aeluri." he confessed, although even the mildest of scoundrels knew how to treat themselves with the basics of theft and persuasion.

As Izayuki's compromising guildmate slithered to her side, Ahote had only given her a brisk glance before returning his attention back to his guest, as she would seemingly do the same as she began to shuffle around him. The sound of her feet tapping against the stone floors and the gripping words that bounced off of them were both equally invigorating as they were tremendously alarming. The still raven-haired master felt himself become more restive in his own skin as the sound rang in his ears and his topaz pools stared fixedly at Izayuki's crimson ones. The wine-like color of red swirling in her eyes became more electrifying as he admired them further, like precious gems almost. As he continued to behold them, he felt a depraved smirk creep up to his lips.

But if her captivating gaze weren't enough, the pale-faced Ahote flinched as closed in on him, pointy claws grazing across his flesh as hair-standing words dripped from her tongue. The woman beamed with entitlement, her query making it all the more obvious. But it wasn't as if Ahote had minded this since the serpents had little to lose and found themselves jolly as long as there was booze to drink to toys to play within the dungeon cells. They were incredibly easily entertained. It was the roses who had everything to lose.

Ahote's smiled had plastered across his complexion, a sigh escaping his lips and he could no longer resist what the woman had been dangling just in front of him, like some bone in front of a ravenous mutt. He raised his one free hand to take Izayuki's, his fingers coiling around her own in a gentle caress. Of course, to all other eyes, it was merely a gesture of good will. Perhaps even the polite thing to do. But as a roguish smirk stretched from ear to ear and his fleshed thumb rubbed across her hand, it was clear his orbs twinkled with a different objective in mind. "We can offer you what we do best and what you choose not to do, and you wouldn't have come here if you didn't know what that was. You do have a reputation to maintain, don't you, miss Izayuki?" he appealed, his eyes drooping in the shadows of his own locks, his gentle grip on her smooth hand tightening, "If that is fine with you, of course." his voice was crisp and quiet, only hushed breaths escaping his lips. The idea was thrilling, of course. With nothing to lose, only fools would decline such an offer. New rugs, new appliances, the money was so close that he could almost taste it! Yet, besides the money, there was other things he was wanting to taste.

Ahote retreated from the alarming closeness between him and his master of roses, his roguish smile descending into his usual soft, warm one. He looked around the room radiantly before returning to face Izayuki once again. "You're silly, miss Izayuki. I'm hoping once things have settled down that we can indulge in your silliness privately. And if things go well, perhaps that will be sooner rather than later." his smile twisted into a grin, removing his hand from Izayuki's smooth ones and ruffling Theo's chocolate locks.

Izayuki Hyoujin ♦ Black Rose ♦ H Rank

The Bakedanuki took notice of his roguish grin as she circled him. She never once broke eye contact-- it was not in her nature to do so. Besides, she knew that her charms were working. Basilisk Fang was a guild of scoundrels and criminals. It would not make sense for their leader to avoid falling for a few suggestive pets and blinks. What surprised her, however, was the sudden grip of her hands. Of course it was something she could have suspected, but the soft stroking from his thumb suggested something besides goodwill. In a way, that was what she wanted. It meant that he was stumbling and falling. Even more shocking, his grip tightened after he spoke, giving her words she wanted to hear as the master of the guild of roses.

“Wonderful,” she responded, accepting his offer. Basilisk Fang would take the unfortunate falls and Black Rose would stay in the clear. That was how it should be. If they finally got their way, however, both would be in the clear and able to do whatever they wanted. As for Black Rose, they would try to reconstruct the system if they could, or at least help and contribute to it. As for the guild of serpents, they were free to do whatever they wanted. Izayuki personally hoped that they could settle for a pardon and focus on less grim and criminal of deeds. “Just what I wanted to hear~”

When he finally released his grip on her hand, the Bakedanuki took the opportunity to deliver a quick boop to his nose in teasing. “Silly? Whatever do you mean?” she asked with an amused grin, arms up in a mild shrug. His words were vague and confusing, leaving her only to ignorant guesswork. Indeed she was 'silly' in the eyes of most guild leaders, daring to form alliances with guilds of opposing alignments. However, she knew that she was no ordinary leader, and thus did not care too much of what others thought; so long as it did not get them in trouble, and so long as her own guildmates agreed for the most part. The tiny chocolate boy had been held the entire time; Ahote really did run a tight crew as a single mother of so many tiny dark mages.

The deal had been made, and while it was an abrupt one, it was fruitful. The jolly serpents would only benefit from this arrangement, Ahote figuring that the fools behind him could nearly taste the exotic drinks they've all indulged in for the past many days. He, however, looked forward to the glamorous but resilient fortress that awaited them at the end of their bargain, jewels pouring over their bodies and piling at their feet like water from a showerhead. The serpents' watermelon tongues could already taste the riches at their tips. Yet, despite making a deal worth celebrating over, the pale-faced Ahote looked forward to things other than the riches for what was only a moment.

Ahote's coy grin remained plastered across his face as a pleased Izayuki voiced her satisfaction. Oh, how entitled she was! The man could only imagine what words danced at the tip of her tongue and at the edge of her mind. While her burning, crimson pools and pointy claws shrouded him in a hair-standing excitement, he was more invigorated by the uncertain future Black Rose had from here on out. Confidently they skated onto thin ice, where the chilly lake water was filled with the snapping jaws on the Council. Where they to sink or swim should they fall in? Frankly, Ahote did not care, and neither did he think his comrades would either. Both were entitled to enjoy both ends of their bargain until one of their tales came to a crushing, bitter end. "How enticing", he thought.

The raven-haired man's forehead puckered and brows scrunched together as Izayuki's finger quickly bounced on and off his nose. It wiggled, his face bright with both a bewilderment and a mild amusement. Ahote sighed pleasantly, "Miss Izayuki, is that all you needed from us? Should we sit you and your friends down and stuff you like pigs next?" he snickered, topaz pools sharp and bitter. Though he enjoyed the humorous Izayuki's presence, he was quick to return to his pedestal of pride. The broad-shouldered master leaned down over her, glaring with a sour frown, "Because if it is, you can take your friends and leave," his complexion stretched into a quizzical smile once more, taking his fleshy digits and gently latching them onto her jaw, "or stay. We find fun in all opportunities." His voice soft and honeyed, yet dripping with desire. If there was an opportunity, it had a chance to be fun, to them anyway.

If the Bakedanuki could do one thing incredibly well? It was playing games, that was part of the reason that she could hold enough respect towards the light haired girl to be an effective ace because if anyone besides Iza was in charge she certainly wouldn't listen to them. Taking any sort of order from someone who could not keep pace with her? Was unacceptable, but Iza played the game, even though they had yet to really compete with each other, Jiyu could respect anyone who showed they knew how to play. Watching as the other circled Ahote, seeing the movements made, the words chosen, she had to admire the other girl again, happy to enjoy the show Izayuki was putting up. The slight bits of tension visible between the way Iza held her hand against the other's cheek and his subtle reaction to it, was beautiful. Between seeing the other woman play with her fellow guild master and the wonderful negative energy flowing during this event? Jiyu was enjoying herself.

Take her friends and leave? Nah, the Ace was not going to let Izayuki do that if she could help it, knowing the guild master was willing to play with people sometimes, she didn't foresee her having an issue if she tried to extend this visit. "I see no need for apples and honey glaze." as she spoke the canine took a single step back, a finger on the hand not covered in black fog tracing the shape of an apple, statement finished with a laugh.

"But fun is a horrible thing to waste." so was all the negative energy both guilds were admitting from hating being in the same space as each other, it was all so delicious. Ahote seemed to be game, Izayuki was always game, so why not play another game? Extend things for even more fun, and most importantly for her, even more, tension. "Tell me, Ahote, does your guild boast any dragons?" she spoke with one hand slightly covering her mouth, hiding the smug smirk displayed there. "Cause we have a few, and wouldn't it be a bit of lovely fun to see whose line up is more impressive?" she didn't care if they held a dragon Olympics or just had them fight it out, or some other random thing. "What could a good healthy dose of competition hurt?" finishing off her statement and leaning back on her heels waiting for the response, Jiyu lifted the hand she had covered in black fog and started taking bites out of it again.

Victoria was digging the vodka. It was actually pretty good. She found nothing to complain about. Then again, she was fond of the drink, so she might have been a bit prejudiced. Still, it beat the wine by a considerable margin.

"This is pretty good. What brand of vodka is this?" Victoria asked anyone in earshot. Was it a Basilisk Fang specialty or was it a really good store brand? The brunette wanted to know. This kind of thing was important. She would have to buy some once she got some money.

Basilisk Fang was being passive-aggressive. Izayuki and the Basilisk Fang leader were doing some kind of complicated tango complete with back-and-forth wordplay. Kiru was still glaring at everyone. And Jiyu was doing her thing. Meanwhile, Victoria's liver was starting to cry.

    Was that responsible behavior? No.

Was she setting herself up for trouble? Yes.

Did she care right now? No.
