A single ray of light shone through the parted drapery in Valeria’s room, tiny golden specks of dust floating aimlessly in its path yet providing Valeria sufficient guidance to find her way around her room. A week after her arrival at the guild, Val still hadn’t talked to any of the other guild members; not even the guildmistress herself. She had been postponing it the whole time and playing around too much with the lacrima thing in her room. She had never had one before, to be completely honest. Everything was so convenient here and she loved it.
Valeria was not an early bird. To catch her out and about before eight in the morning was a pretty bizarre thing, to say the least. Not that it was beyond her ability. This morning was, in fact, one of those bizarre times. It was mainly because she couldn’t stop stressing herself out about not having introduced herself properly to the guild. With roughly three or four hours of sleep, Valeria shuffled around her room, freshening up for the day.
After a wakening shot of espresso, Valeria stole a quick glance at the mirror to check if she was looking alright. Her lips curled into a small smile as she adjusted her pigtails, striding down a few corridors to reach the exit. She still had trouble navigating this huge ass ship and would get lost at times especially when she was in a hurry. The carpeted floorboards muffled the sound of her boots thudding against them and while she was looking for the exit to the main area, she noticed the amount of people already gathered there. Shit! Taking a deep breath to calm her jangled nerves, she entered the main hall, looking around to find at least someone to talk to.
