Job Title: Whiteshire: Facing the Matapo
    Rank: B Rank
Player Requirements: B Rank or 2 or more C rank. Must be in Onyx Moon guild. 8,000 words per player. Must have completed Part 2.
Job Requirements: In accordance to your negotiations prior, you have had time to prepare to fight the Matapo. The number of Matapo you must face is equal to 1+ the number of mages. You may defeat or kill the Matapo. The main goal is to showcase your power to the Matapo Tribe. Once complete, the salt workers are free to leave and will not be taken captive again. You need to bring news of the success to the businessmen in Whiteshire and ensure that the workers in turn will not retaliate against the tribe.

    Job Location: Tolgalen
Job Description: You have prepared for this fight with the Matapo and are ready at dawn the next day to take on the Matapo monsters in the lake. A small group of Tribe warriors has joined you to either see your task done or to fight and kill you if you prove to be a coward and run away. They will otherwise not interfere with your challenge. In addition, the Matapo Tribe leader has told you that he is not impressed by displays of powerful spells. He asks that you do not use any of your highest rank spells (Anything above C rank), assuring you that if you need healing after the challenge, his warriors will do so for you. You can find the Matapo monsters by searching amongst the musical reeds and mangroves of the lake. If you defeat the monsters and impress the Matapo, they will also gift you each a small totem of the tribe to recognize you in high respect.

    Enemies:
Strong: Matapo Tribe Warriors (5) : A mix of magic using and melee fighters, this group of warriors are strong and seasoned fighters. Nobody knows the cave in and out like they do and will find strategic advantages for fighting you. With magic, most of them have elemental water or stone abilities, a few have a strange ability to cause temporary sickness or disease. Their attacks are smart and well planned, and deal B rank damage when they hit. A few of them wear magical totems collected from dead Matapo or human bones that give them magical or physical healing once during a fight each. It takes 4 B rank hits to bring one warrior down, and that is not accounting for if he heals himself.

    Boss:
    Matapo: The Monster
An old monster species lives in the lake, and has been there for many years. They never leave the lake, and nobody knows how they ended up in the lake in the first place. They are somewhat like crocodiles, 12 feet long, with massive claws, thick and sharp armor spikes, and two layers of sharp teeth. They have no eyes, but a good sense of smell, and can sense direction through use of pressure organs inside of his body (the same way fish that school can sense other fish in the area and move around without bumping into each other). Most of the original population has been dying out from starvation. The dead lake's bottom is littered with the bones of dead monsters, dead water fowl, and various other animals who ended up at the lake only to die at the jaws of these monsters.

These crocodile monsters are ambush predators which try to attack by hiding under the water of the murky lake, and ambushing those who get to close to the water's edge. They prefer to fight in the water and rarely come out of the shallow reeds in which they hide. They would be likely to attack, then slide back into the water to try to hide and attack again. They deal A rank damage with their claws, bite attack, and tail. Hitting them in close range could hurt you due to their natural armor spikes for C rank damage. These adult Matapo are also able to perform feints, fake being defeated, and then strike. They are intelligent monsters. They are incredibly fast in water, but about crocodile speed on land. They will need 6 B rank hits to defeat.

Reward: 35,000 Jewels and a Matapo tooth-based weak item (ring, necklace, knife).
