Neru's Silver Wolf Intro

As a former adventurer, Leila had a bit of a bad habit. That was, she could sometimes simply vanish for days, or even weeks without giving notice. During these times, she was somewhere out in the world, either simply enjoying herself while wandering around aimlessly, or taking on yet another contract that headed her way. Regardless of what it was, however, she pretty much always returned to the halls of Silver Wolf quite exhausted. Despite being a powerful witch, she still had her duty in regards to the Gardens of Eden. She was gathering magic for that world, thus making her appear like any other regular magician out there until she would get serious.

Might have been a good thing, too. Like this, her magical presence never felt suffocating to anyone around. And it also allowed her to look forward to a nice relaxing bath within the building that her guild owned. There was a good reason for her making sure that it was built on top of a place that had natural spring hidden beneath it. After simply leaving her things in her room, she headed downstairs and straight to the changing rooms. She always used the bath reserved specifically for members of the guild, today being no different.

Or perhaps it was? Even as she entered, she could already feel several other presences beyond the last door before the open bath. Though the voices were far too muffled for her to recognize them from where she was. Figuring it might have been Poko or perhaps Leona, she did not even stop to consider the possibility of finding either a male member of her guild or even better, someone who was not a member. Wrapping a pure white towel around her figure, she slid the wooden door open and took a single step outside, looking around.

Naturally, she quickly froze in place. Normally, the baths were still divided to ones specifically for girls and for guys, even when it came down to member-only baths. But given her absence in the last week or so, she had no clue about this whole mixed thing, missing all the clues along the way entirely due to her apparent exhaustion. So her eyes rested on Quill way on the other side of the room while a considerable blush spread across her face, lips quivering. It also seemed that Leona was indeed present, though that hardly seemed to matter in comparison to a guy being in the same room with them.

Before she could say anything, however, she felt an unfamiliar magical energy much closer. Alerted, her eyes darted over to Neru. From her magical energy alone, the maiden was able to determine that she was no spirit or anything of the kind, holding absolutely no connection to the other members present. That meant she was actually a complete stranger who somehow got inside. This was a bit worrisome, even if her powers seemed to be quite low. “Excuse me… who are you and how did you get access to this area?” After all, only those with the wolf mark should be able to open the doors to here.

Averting her gaze from this bunny person she had never seen, the guild master sighed. It was true that the current person at reception was a rather kind one, so it was in the realm of possibility that she was given a free spot here. Though it also made the girl shake her head a good bit. After all, anyone had the option of renting a private solo bath in this place, where they would not have to worry about anyone else whether their body was frail or not. Doing something like this repeatedly would only make them lose money earned by providing this service to the wide public.

But the fact she needed to talk to the receptionist about it and scold them would have to come later. The girl moved forward a bit, introducing herself along with the reason why she was in this place. Though she also did something that ticked Quill off rather quickly. Leila noticed it as well, but before she could say anything, the only male here decided to swiftly lung forward while summoning a weapon. Naturally, that was just no good right now. Sighing once more, she almost leisurely extended her hand toward him as a few spots of her skin transformed to look like a bark of a tree.

From those places, numerous vines and roots jetted out and instantly wrapped themselves around the boy’s weapon, yanking it out of his hands and moving it up to where no one could reach it. “Now, now… let’s calm down for a moment. I can sense her magical power and it is not strong enough to do any harm here. Especially with me present.” After all, she was now considered an H-ranked mage. She was in the ranks of the strongest mages on this entire continent.

Looking back at Neru, she eyed her some more. “Traits of two different species overlapping… were you born a bunny person and then cursed by a succubus?” It was a wild guess, but it was possible. Or perhaps the succubus part might have been part of her blood, a lineage? Well, the only way to know for sure was to either dissect the girl, or let her explain. It was not hard to figure out which option the guild master would go with. With that, she also smiled at Leona, showing that all was alright. She would not let blood flow freely in this situation. At least not from open wounds anyway.

For an onsen, the situation was getting quite out of the hand. And all simply because this newcomer possessed traits of a succubus. It all forced Leila to sigh internally. And to not help anything, Yuvon stormed the room as well. And unlike his usual self, he appeared to be quite riled up. The problem with that appeared to be the fact, that he decided to summon a bunch of tentacles from whatever place he was connected to. Those dangerously started closing in on them and started making Neru feel ever more threatened, forcing her into the air. Having just about enough of this mess, the guild master decided to put an end to it.

After Quill punched the librarian in his mask, Leila snapped her fingers while looking at the dark mist with the tentacles. “Warp!” A sphere of blue and black color suddenly showed up around Yuvon’s own summoning spot and sent it to a place somewhere completely different. With that, the slimy tentacles were quickly dealt with in an instant. At the same time, ice started covering her other hand as she performed an origin connection with one of her spirits. One quick movement of her hand then sent this frost all over the place.

This was nothing too dangerous, but it brought the temperature of the water to a bit unpleasant, rather than warm. “Alright everyone, calm down this instant!” A moment of silence that hopefully followed allowed her to look over everyone. Seeing how the room was now also plentiful on males, she decided to make herself a bit more modest. A white and black bracelet on her hand suddenly started emitting magical energy as it materialized clothes beneath the towel she was wearing. Or to be more precise, a body-tight suit, similar to a diving one.

That way, she was able to remove the towel without being exposed to anyone and look at least somewhat serious in this situation. First of all, she looked up at the bunny succubus. “Please, come down here. No one is going to do anything to you, I can assure you of that. If anyone tries, I will restrain them with my magic.” Then she turned toward Quill. “You need to calm down and relax. I know not what happened between you and some succubus in the past, but will you really let one individual be a representation of an entire group, or worse yet, entire species?!”

She shook her head at the thought. “If everyone were to think like that, dragons would be a long extinct species because one of them burned down a city or two in the past or something. You must interact with living beings on a personal level.” And finally, she turned toward Yuvon. “And you, if you dare to assault your guild master one more time, I will teach you pain worse than your books ever could. Have some manners with those powers of yours, good grief!”

Saying all that, she got quite worked up herself. Her other hand that was not covered in ice suddenly started emitting flames that brought the temperature of the room and the water back to normal. Disabling both of the elements on her hands, she stepped into the water and allowed her body to slide deep enough that its surface was above her chest, letting out a trouble sigh. Really, she just returned from a journey and now she had to bath in her suit and scold her members like little children. What a troublesome day this was.
