Post by Haraka Omaras 14th June 2018, 10:42 am

    Spoiler:

It wasn't after the job he had with Adalinda that the blue grey skinned demon had decided to go through a change. The ice dragon slayer lacrima had been used, along with an herbal mix that Haraka had figured would make the patching of the soul more possible. Without it, the lacrima would have been unlikely to have fully healed such a vast hole. A lot was there that hadn't been before, a lot of new emotions, even a few new instincts. Which changes were caused by the lacrimas magic, and which were caused by having a complete soul? There was no way for the demon to really know one way or the other. "Try not to overthink things." He muttered quietly to himself in the morning, bothered by the sound of his own voice. A lot more came out than he would like without being trapped inside internally. This unnerved the mantis shrimp more than a little. Someone who had been trapped inside for thousands of years, who had to struggle to express anything... was now having keeping things quietly in the mind. He would now make facial expressions or move his body in ways that he didn't fully understand, just as he didn't always understand the emotion behind it. "I knew it was going to happen, but its so unnerving to not understand all my inner workings anymore." Another slip up, he wasn't even outside his home yet. Omaras finished his normal routine, but felt more self aware of slip ups in self harm than ever.

The lacrima had improved his sense of smell, the smell that could pick of a faint scent of blood. It was something the young looking man had always assumed had vanished under the scents of soap, water, medicine, bandages, and clothes. He tried to distract himself with training and work, but it wasn't enough. This was how he ended up going back to the job board, the only confidence he felt at that point was the need to finish anything started. "He always said that anything unfinished was-" There it was again, the mind leaking out of his lips. In the end, he picked a job that was specifically in his element- the ocean. But this was also something above his rank, this was how the demon ended up asking for help. This was how he ended up on a fishermans boat with Kyran. "I used to love being on boats so much..." Another thing slipping out that was meant to stay in the mind. "Ma-" okay he's had enough of this, too many leaks out of his head! This is how his arm ended up in his mouth. This was also how he had the sudden reminder of how many of his own teeth were very sharp. His eyes widened a bit in a very expressive way before slowly moving the arm out. He looked down at the shirts sleeve that was now peppered with... holes. Holes he made with his teeth. "Why couldn't I be something less deadly? There has to be a better way of doing this..." He could feel the fishermans eyes on him. Well, this probably wouldn't feel so weird if it wasn't so common for fisherman and merchants to have heard of him.

Most of the survivors of his countrys destruction had been fisherman and merchants as they were the main people with boats. The culture was long gone, but a memory of the one survivor time hadn't killed seemed to have spread if anything. But now things were different. "I can't exactly call all the changes bad, it's just a lot of changes to take in at once." He said all at once, but it wasn't like the soul was healed that day. Sure, it was recent that the ice dragon slayer lacrima had been used, but it would be inaccurate to act like it had just happened. But... it was a lot of changes bundled up. He couldn't say they were changes for the worse. His hand, arm, the skin that didn't have prick marks from him being an idiot trying to shut himself up with his own arm. Even his physical health had visibly improved. Though paler, the tone his skin had looked a lot more lively. There was no grey tones to it that could be seen. The lack of grey hue almost made it feel like life was telling him how unhealthy it really was walking around with that sort of damage, no matter how unseen it was. It didn't matter how packed and ready he was for the boat ride, it didn't matter that he was a sea creature soothed by the motions of the oceans currents. Being a dragon slayer meant motion sickness, it meant that this would feel unpleasant. A bit of wing started to move around Haraka before a voice started speaking. This time winds voice didn't sound like he was amused by something unseen or unheard.

"Don't worry master, we will help with your new slayer motion sickness issue. Your plants have offered their scents and I will pick the finest ones to best soothe." How soothing he said that sounded almost unnerving, but he could tell that it was honest concern. "Thank you wind, I'm sorry for worrying you." That was when he heard laughing from wind. That wouldn't trick the demon this time. He could tell wind knew he wasn't fooling either of them, the spirit tucking away back inside himself very quickly. But... soon the air around him started smelling very gingery. It was much like the tons of herbal tea he had packed. It would take 5 days on boat to get on location, it would be a miserable travel if he didn't cope at all the entire time. So the young looking old man took in a deep breath before getting onto the boat. Well, it didn't take long for him to go from standing somewhere on the boat to more of a curled sitting location. The motion sickness hadn't even let him keep the wings or tail hidden, the large wings hanging at his sides, the tail curled around his folded legs and... honestly past his chest and head, making him resemble something of a massive shrimp ball with wings. Right now it didn't matter that he glowed dimly, it didn't matter that his wings and tail had beautiful blue glowing patterns, or that he was two deadly animals wrapped into one thing. None of that saved him right now from feeling like tossed up seaweed. His entire body had already started telling him just how unhappy it was... but the ginger smell did help.

"Thank you for coming Kyran, sorry for not looking all that presentable right now..."

Demons at Sea Empty Re: Demons at Sea

Post by Kyran 24th June 2018, 8:54 am

Kyran scratched at his full beard as the boat sailed across rough waters. He wasn't sure why the demon, Haraka, had invited him on this job. Seemed like an easy one for the demon to finish. Still he was grateful for the excuse to avoid Tolgalen yet again. He hadn't been back to the island continent in months now. Gruen was getting angry at his lack of cooperation but Kyran pointed out that he had been told to do his job and act like nothing was different. Gruen had grumbled yet had no avenue to really punish Kyran. Kyran had been following his brother's orders to the letter. A grin at that memory brought his attention back to his full beard. The thing needed to go. He had grown it out to see what having it would be like. Well more Kyran had simply forgotten to shave, preoccupied with other things as he had been. Now with Gaia - his smile widened at the thought of his girlfriend - in the picture, Kyran wanted to always be presentable should she ever call upon him. Looking out on the ocean gave Kyran the urge to write. The scene set before him was stunning. Dark clouds shrouded half the sky while the other half was a brilliant blue from which the sun was shining. The ocean itself spit between a gentle calm and a raging wrath. It was inspiring.

Haraka's constant muttering behind Kyran was a little discordant. Yet it helped the author mage set the scene even more. Cursed Dynasty, his latest series, was starting to take off with his readers. It wasn't as popular as Dark Phoenix yet but that was something that didn't bother Kyran. His adventures would always provide new material to inspire him. As long as he could keep writing, Kyran would be happy. He got a sudden flash of Gaia standing in front of a house, a baby swaddled in her arms. The smile on her face was radiant. The image was so real, Kyran reached out to touch her. A sudden spray from the sea broke the image. It brought the mage back to reality. He was on a job. This was no time to be daydreaming.

Kyran went to sit near his partner. He would have sat in front of Haraka but the demon was looking a little sea sick. Kyran did not want to be thrown up on. When Haraka apologized, Kyran laughed heartily. It was a surprising sound that stopped Kyran for a moment. When had he become so happy? Shaking his head at himself and Haraka, the redhead said "I'm not quite presentable myself, Haraka so there is no worry there. We'll just try to get through this as quickly as possible alright? That way you don't have to be sea sick the entire time." With the sides of the boat here, Kyran found himself relatively protected from the spray of the sea. He pulled out a book that he'd brought along. "To pass the time, maybe you can read this? It's Dark Flame the first book in a semi-popular series. First edition. It's usually hard to come by but I have many of them from the author so I like to hand them out." Kyran hoped the demon liked to read and that he would accept the gift. If not, Kyran had Curse of the Demon King and its sequel Tempting the Curse to tempt Haraka with. Maybe he was shamelessly self promoting. Kyran frowned at the thought. No one knew he was Anon, the author of the books. Could this really be counted as self promoting?

Kyran shook those thoughts away. Now was not the time to dwell on such things. He was trying to help his partner feel a little better. Maybe in thanks for the precious sight Haraka had helped him to see. Kyran waited until Haraka either took the book or refused it. Then he set the book on the deck and pulled out his notepad to begin writing. He was only jotting ideas down but it was important to get them down before they disappeared. Hopefully this job would help rekindle his passion for the Dark Phoenix series. His fans were still clamoring for the final two trilogies they were owed. Kyran couldn't blame them. The final book in the fifth trilogy ended in a cliffhanger. Everyone wanted to know what would happen next. Kyran hoped his guild mates at Onyx Moon would help him discover the next chapter of that story or at least, help inspire him to discover it.

Demons at Sea Empty Re: Demons at Sea

Post by Haraka Omaras 24th June 2018, 3:34 pm

Haraka let out a despairing groan at the very thought of someone thinking that he was sea sick. "No, no Kyran. How do I-" This time he tried to silence himself with wood but... wood and a mouth full of sharp teeth? There were now splinters of wood all over in his mouth. So he thought over how to properly explain things while spitting chunks of wood out. This was terrible so far, first the ship made him sick, now he had wood in his mouth. At least the wood came out easy enough with the use of a little water. After one sneeze that caused a dark blue pearl to jettison out of his mouth. It bounced off part of the deck before rolling a little, then coming to a slow stop. Now he could answer. "I love ships, had the best sea legs. I had a very sizely hole in my soul that normal methods could not patch up for a number of reasons. So... I used an ice dragon slayer lacrima to help patch it up... now I just... get motion sickness.. and everything different." New emotions, a mind that was no longer a jail, a body that felt more healthy as a whole, different skin tone, and probably some other things that hadn't been noticed yet. Kyran looked very different than before too, it wasn't the facial hair. Happy, he looked so happy. From words, movement, and even the energy. "You look like someone whom heart has been charmed." He didn't mean to say that out loud! Move on, move on.

"Sorry, this job will take at least five days to get to. The ship has to go slow due to the creature the fisherman wants to catch." Dark flame? The half demon looked over at the suggestion of books. "I do read, my mother published a medical book series a few thousand years ago, books remind me of her. What is dark flame about? I normally just read medical books and books on elemental spirits... So I know little on what is or isn't popular." Sapphire blue eyes looked to the ocean. It's beauty didn't exactly surprise him, all the different ones had their own charms. It was one of the reasons he picked this job, it was normally so comforting. The demons expression drooped a bit looking at the water, a quiet low sigh escaping him. "I'm a damn giant deep sea mantis.." Omaras mumbled quietly top himself, but there was nothing he could really do about how things turned out. It was all to heal himself and he had achieved what he thought was impossible. Maybe someone else had mended a hole that big before? The blue demon hadn't seen anything about it in any medical books but it would be a bit strange if he was the first. His eyes looked back at the read head on the ship, trying to muster a smile, but it looked a bit worn. It was hard to feel a hundred percent when you had horrible motion sickness. "I actually wanted to get to know you better since we first met, but it never seemed like the right time before."

His wings folded a bit, or rather he tried his best to fold up the overly large deep sea crustacean armored wings. The natural armor that seemed strangely flexible and light. The color of his tail and wings was mostly the same as his horns, dark sapphire blue. On them were glowing designs of different blues. The only thing that looked different on the glow scale was the only design that looked shaped like anything. On the base of one of his wings was a dim glowing white snowflake design, a dragon in it's center. "I guess I'll start by introducing myself better? Our first one... you were really hurt, I don't think either of us were able to properly.. I'm glad you're okay now though." Deep breath, focus, try to focus on what you want to say. "I'm Haraka Omaras, I have three elemental spirits, fire, lightening, and wind. I can use my own natural ocean magic a medium, allowing me to use their elements with their help. I have had the same three elemental spirits since I was a small child and can only fit three inside of myself at a time... so they are it. Due to the recent use of the lacrima, I can use ice magic now too. If I have a plants hidden name I can call on them... it's why I've never gone hungry. They are all my friends."

Demons at Sea Empty Re: Demons at Sea

Post by Kyran 26th June 2018, 2:11 pm

Kyran raised his eyebrow at his fellow mage sinking his teeth into the wood. That didn't seem like the smartest plan. Judging by the demon shrimp's expression, Haraka realized that too. Probably now that he had a mouth full of splinters. He wasn't sure what to make of the soul hole or the dragon slayer lacrima but it sounded like Haraka hadn't been whole. He could relate to that. It was ironic that the thing that had saved Haraka's life had probably removed his ability to enjoy something he loved. Kyran chuckled softly at the other mage saying he looked like his heart had been charmed. "In a way you could say I have been 'charmed'. I met a woman who set my heart aflame after I thought it had long turned to stone. She helped my author friend create a new series when I told him about our adventures. I have the books with me. I prepared for a long journey since it sounded like we would be on the sea a while." Kyran would be writing while they sailed but for now, he wished to spend some time with his fellow mage. There was no need to sequester himself away just yet. He also needed to keep his writing from Haraka if that was at all possible. The ship wasn't very large, had only three decks and didn't quite look seaworthy. Kyran was a little dubious but the captain had assured him that the boat would hold together throughout the journey.

It sounded to Kyran as if Haraka read mainly text books. Boring things filled only with fact. Perhaps this was a chance to broaden the shrimp's mind. "Dark Flame is about a dark phoenix called Vulcan struggling to protect his birth clutch from the world and his attraction to the enchanting assassin Ember. It follows the two of them as they try to eliminate Vulcan's brother, Agni who has been lost to a phoenix disease, Consumption. It forces Agni to consume the life flame of other creatures in order to survive." Kyran watched Haraka's face as he spoke realizing that he might be rambling. He did that usually when he was excited about something. Books and new discoveries usually made him that way. Challenging fights had a way of making him excited too. "Its kind of a romance, action-adventure novel all rolled into one. The author takes it slow with these books, making trilogies for each couple. There are six siblings in the dark phoenix clutch and they are the main focus of the series. I'm rambling, I'm sorry but I really love books and this series in particular. I love sharing it with others too since it isn't exactly a well known series." Kyran took a deep breath. He needed to bring it all back down before he scared the other mage with his intensity.

Kyran listened to the other mage introduce himself. Three spirits huh? He guessed something had to possess demons since demons possessed everybody else. Unless it was more like a partnership in this case. He couldn't quite understand Haraka's rambling. The other mage's openness made Kyran want to respond in kind but he had always had difficulty with that kind of thing. Adalinda hadn't helped him get over that. Yona and Gaia seemed to be special cases but only because they were vulnerable with him. "My name is Kyran Dyer. My magic is a mix of summoning and Make magic that uses my blood as a medium." Kyran scratched one of his half sleeve tattoos on his forearm. There really wasn't much else he could say. Or really that he wanted to say. It made the red head feel sad that he couldn't be as open about himself as the shrimp had been. Tell him about us! Tell him! Tell him! Fight him! Tell him! Then screw him! He looks like a good lay! Kyran closed his eyes against the jabbering voices of his demons, though Ahriman's contribution made the corner of his mouth quirk upwards. Haraka had been there when they were 'born' so to speak but Kyran didn't feel like sharing them with him. The other mage might be a demon, might host spirits, but what would he think about a mage who could barely control four demons in his head? It made something roil in Kyran's stomach, thinking about revealing that information to Haraka. "I'm sorry but there isn't much more I'm comfortable with revealing about myself. I've been hurt badly by people I trusted too quickly." He offered the shrimp an apologetic shrug. That was the best he had to offer Haraka.

Demons at Sea Empty Re: Demons at Sea

Post by Haraka Omaras 28th June 2018, 6:24 pm

Haraka laughed a bit lightly. In a way? "Having your heart charmed merely means someone has given it more life and joy in it, it's not a bad thing. That sounds very special, don't let her go if you can help it." That was definitely a good change, a very good change. Listening to kyran almost made it seem like the sea sickness had lifted, though that was definitely not the case. It was still there, the ice blue skinned person knew it was merely something joy could do. Positive emotions and good company were effective medicines in a sense, they could heal hearts, ease pain, and ease the sense of sickness. It wont cure what you have, but it can make that thing more bearable and easier to recover from. A stone heart gaining warmth? "I've never been in love, but most of my thousands of years in life I had jobs as a bartender or waiter. People talk a lot, especially to a silent bartender who nods at the right times and makes the drinks right. Love is able to mend any breaks in ones heart." The young looking man firmed his mouth a bit, humming. It was a new tactic to try to keep in the thoughts he didn't want out, so far it seemed like a success. There was clearly no need to bring up the damage love could do when it was with someone who was either toxic, or just didn't love you back. But... "I've known Wind, Fire, and lightening ever since I was very small, but wind the longest of all. He used to belong to the man that was courting my mother."

That man? Thinking about that person put a little life in his sea sickened self. "In my old home country when it wasn't... under the ocean, my great aunt was very upset when she heard what my grandmother did. She sent one of her generals to make sure the 'outsider' I was given to was safe, also to make sure I was not actually an evil blood thirsty monster..." That part wasn't supposed to pop out, but there it was. Just keep rolling, maybe he wont notice. "What he found was my mother was charming and I was adorable. Apparently there was something about baby me and a lot of adults that caused the side effect of heart melting. He didn't use caster magic though, but takeover magic. Elemental spirits are basically like partners, how flexible they are with magic types depends on how powerful they are... But yeah, in a sense I've never had to be completely alone. Even with the world soaked in blood and in the worst possible situation, they never left. Their love for me, my love for them? It's how I was able to eventually recover enough to consider joining a guild. It may not be the romantic kind but... it's still healing." What would he have done without wind? Probably die. No, there was no probably in that. Well, what can he do right now? He tried to uncurl his tail, but soon found himself in the previous position. No, this was his bodies goldilocks on feeling the least amount of motion sickness.

The book series sounded interesting, it got his attention. [color=#77e8ff]"I like how the story sounds, but I'm also curious how realistic they write out that sickness. History stories used to be written in a similar way, not in a fictional way but more of... Telling it in a way that told the story better and made it sound interesting. Those who couldn't afford books could only pass history through stories and only the interesting ones lived through the generations. The modern way of recording history is more logical, but less interesting."[color=undefined] The half demon bit his full bottom lip a bit. He was getting on his own nerves with how much he was talking. Well, this wasn't an issue that popped up over night. A brief pause was finally ended as he released the lip, a bit of blood slightly dripping. Another thing he had to scratch up to not being a good way to shut himself up. "I would like to read that book." Of course now the topic changed to talking about Kyran himself. A mix of summoning and make magic? That was interesting, but... "I didn't know those could be mixed, that's interesting. What do you use in your summons? Your demons, or something else?" It seemed logical to assume, until Kyran said he wasn't comfortable revealing anything else. It made Omaras realize... "I shouldn't have noticed." It wasn't about the magic, he didn't know if they were connected to it at all.

"I didn't mean to notice them, I just watch out for other demons a lot. Most demons I've met have tried to kill me, save for the ones in this guild." It was just something he naturally looked out for, a fear for his life. He could feel himself about to talk more, but this time he was okay with a little pain. An arm in his own mouth meant not saying anymore, had the half blood already said too much? It was an accident, saying so much. That arm stayed in that deadly maw until they were sure of what they were going to say next. "I'm sorry for asking if they were connected to your magic, for not realizing you might not be okay with me noticing. I-" The arm was back in, making sure he didn't say anything extra. That poor arm? But it wasn't bleeding as much as one might imagine when being pressed on by such a large amount of sharp and capable teeth. There was still blood, just nothing remotely fatal. The young looking man just didn't want to make more mistakes, not when it could be helped. 'This should be easy to avoid doing.' The internal scolding didn't feel like enough, but it would have to do. He removed the arm again, letting out a heavy sigh. "I don't know how many you have in you, or anything about them... besides that signs point to there being more than one and you don't always seem all that pleased with what they do... I'm sorry Kyran."

Demons at Sea Empty Re: Demons at Sea

Post by Kyran 4th July 2018, 10:36 am

Kyran listened to Haraka talk about himself, his...familiars and his family. It was interesting to learn about this demon. Thousands of years old? Kyran looked Haraka over. He certainly didn't look it. Malinda stirred within but Kyran didn't want to hear the sex demon. Especially when there was no way to get away from Haraka if she said something particularly embarrassing. He also didn't want to think about what Haraka had said regarding his heart being charmed. Was it even possible for Kyran to love? And could that love ever cure the massive amounts of scar tissue upon his heart? His face became contemplative and Kyran turned towards the waves while he listened to Haraka. His fingers itched now. He wanted to record, to write, to absorb the events of today. Maybe even sequester himself for the next few days until they were approaching their target. Watching Haraka gnaw on his own arm was making Kyran just a little queasy.

"You'll have to read it to see. Most people seem to think the Consumption is written quite well and realistically but I'd like to see what someone with medical experience thinks about it." Kyran said picking the book up and handing it to Haraka with a smile. Sighing at the blood Haraka was getting everywhere, Kyran placed his fingertips in the mess. Magic shot through the spilled blood imprinting it upon Kyran's skin before it faded leaving no trace. Kyran shuddered as the influx of power swept through him. That demon is tastier than he looks Malinda hissed before Kyran could stop her. He tried to keep his scowl off his face. Kyran didn't want Haraka to think Key was irritated with him. "Perhaps you should stop biting yourself? It doesn't seem to be helping much and blood loss will eventually put you on your back. I don't want to face the creature we're after on my own because you kept biting yourself."

Kyran cocked his head when Haraka made a big deal out of noticing the demons. Why was it such a big deal to him? Kyran's demons didn't exactly try to hide themselves. Plus Haraka wasn't trying to actively bring them to the fore. There was no issue. Kyran hesitantly laid his hand on the demon's arm. "There is no issue here, Haraka. You were there when they were born. I kind of expected you to know. No need to apologize." He removed his hand, leaning back against the railing of the ship. "As for my magic, it relies upon my emotions in a way, taking them and giving them physical form and purpose. I have to be careful with my spells, lest they wrench control from me and do what I don't wish them to." Years of training had been required simply to keep control. Having the demons intrude at the wrong moment would be all it took to shatter that control. It wasn't something Kyran liked to think about. "The demons are separate from my magic for now but I expect they'll soon be able to merge with it. I kind of look forward to that day. I'll be able to summon them and have my head be just a little clearer." Kyran rested his head against the railing and closed his eyes. What a day that would be.

Demons at Sea Empty Re: Demons at Sea

Post by Haraka Omaras 6th July 2018, 9:04 pm

A taloned hand reached slowly from its grasping curled state, the blue aquamarine claws gently wrapped themselves around the book. These things could hardly be called nails, even without being too long. The talons looked to either be made of actual aquamarine stone, or something a lot more sturdy that looked almost just like it. The book was pulled into the curled ball, it's last stop being against his knees on the folded and tucked state that was his own legs. "Thank you, I'll do my best, though I am no Fennos Omaras." His mind briefly flipped through an old memory, a short red headed woman flipping through an old book with a speedy reading that could have given any librarian a run for their money.
The tiny child curiously watched the scar riddled pale human make a disproving sound at every medical inaccuracy, every important detail conveniently left out. She would mutter in frustration when it got really bad. For some reason the memory made him smile, but his eyes had a slight glazed far away expression until the half demons mind came back to the present time and situation. "She tossed some books in the fireplace when she got upset enough at inaccurate enough medical information in a story."
Many historians would probably have a fit if they knew who he was talking about, but his mothers old temper wasn't really up for debate at this time.

Too many books made her out to seem a lot more even tempered than the small short lived woman really was. The blood fading away got Haraka to briefly realize that more had stirred up than he had noticed. How did Kyran get the mess to vanish away like that? The half demon didn't see the shuddering, having missed it while still soaking in the surprise of the fluid vanishing like that. "Even when you can't see my wings and tail, they are always there. My body holds more blood, the exoskeleton being out also increases defense so much that it being out increases even my skins durability." His eyes scanned the books cover, slowly looking over the colors, words, and everything it had to offer. The young looking man only stopped when he realized how his words spoken moments ago sounded. It basically sounds like one of the many arguments he made to himself all the time when it came to self harm. Holds more blood, makes more blood, is able to bleed more than a normal human without as many consequences. "...I didn't try to bite myself, I just wasn't sure what to do. The last time it wasn't a hard job to talk I was a little kid, do you know how much the world have changed since then? My body shouldn't be allowed to change so much in how things feel, not after feeling the same way for over six thousand years... I feel so scared and uncertain, my brain went to dealing with bars to...

trying to remember how to close the doors now that there's no bars to keep everything shut. There's no bars and new colors that were never there before, but the ones I expected to see still aren't there."
Thinking on his own last words started to make the ice blue skinned person wince a little, a realization of just how accurate that was. "I used to think I had no violent tendencies due to the area of the soul the hole was, but... that's not it. My type of demon? They were nick named guardians of the deep, they used to be well known in stories for destroying anything or anyone that went towards their part of the ocean. They stopped coming from the ocean and attacking after our Goddess GulBekif removed her godhood. Ah, she was the goddess of oceans and medicine before that. Her twin sister was GliiwrWelun, our goddess of the moon and culture. They were both ice dragons and both were from the royal family of that country. Their magic along with the other two founders of the country are what created a massive spell that used to cover it when the country still existed. It allowed a lot more people to be able to use magic, but it also created people like me. The stronger the magic you inherited was, the more likely you would be closer to the god or goddess you were the child of. Their child means that is the original source of your magic. The closer to the origin you are, the more traits you gain that make you more like that person.

It allowed the gods to be born again, but my goddess GulBekif was a problem. Those who were her children? The closer to the source we got, it seemed as soon as they get to a certain closeness, they would be guaranteed born with a hole in their soul somewhere. With that natural weakness, it was a fact that the person would be born with demon, or possessed, or have a demon locked inside. GulBekifs deal to gain strength it seemed didn't just end the attacks guardians did from the ocean, but it left those with her power in their veins touched by by a darkness from the ocean. Not everyone blessed was bad but... even 'guardian' types like me had to fight off an inner dark desire of sorts. The guardians? When one was close enough to that goddesses power, its the only demon type they could be born with. The guardians were the most blood thirsty, you just had to get them hungry or make them feel like their family was in danger."
There was a pause in the long winded talking. He was originally saying this to get to explaining why they had a hole to begin with but saying that all out loud made him realize how weird some of the holes in the saved historical information on her was. "..Uh, but yeah, that's why I was born with a hole in my soul. I made it bigger when I was ten, breaking off a big part of communication and expression as a last ditch effort to survive certain things. It worked, but having them back now...

It's good, but I have to get used to it."
A lot of details were left out, but that was because he wasn't trying to introduce GulBekifs full story, or even his countries full history regarding that person. The ex goddess had a lot of words and history, but only connected to himself so much. He would have to be her reincarnation for it to matter and that felt so unlikely to him that it wasn't even a thought. That's when he realized something else though, his unfiltered use of guardians being demon. None of the books called them demons, it was supposed something he thought about in his mind. Then again, a lot of things were supposed to stay in his head that wasn't anymore. Now all his thoughts of stories passed by mouth, historical information passed by paper, his thoughts, a lot of it was out. He wasn't going to risk leaking anything else out over that though, so it was best forgotten. The front cover of the book thoroughly looked over, the man flipped it to the back. Yes, skip no detail on a book, even before opening it. In any case, hearing from Kyran that the half demon was expected to know about the possession? It was a bit of a relief. What was more unexpected was the hand on his shoulder. The half ice dragon uncurled his tail, the flexible shimmery dark sapphire blue coated material on it looking totally unbothered by its impact on the boats wooden deck. For some reason the more relaxed posture made it harder to be distracted from the motion sickness rolling through.

Still, the physical contact had been unexpected, no matter how brief. "I'm sorry for panicking, I should have just asked." Kyrans magic sounded so amazing though. "Does it feel personal? When you use your magic. How do you train for something that unique? That's really amazing." Haraka had books to rely on. Sure, the blue magic had his own unique taste to it... but it was still an old recipe that only looked special because the others that used it weren't around anymore.

Demons at Sea Empty Re: Demons at Sea

Post by Kyran 11th July 2018, 7:59 pm

Kyran was silent as he listened to the explanations that the demon gave. Interesting. There was more to this mage than met the eye. Similar to Kyran as it were. As was customary to Kyran, his mouth stayed shut. He didn't talk much. It had been something he learned early on. While Haraka wasn't his family or the villagers who had tortured him, Kyran was still struggling to break free of the habit. When Haraka asked about his magic, Kyran chuckled softly. That was a long story. How did one learn his magic? One went through hell. A hell so terrible it left a mark upon the soul. Sylvia had had the same terrible haunting in her eye that Kyran carried. The hell was personal to each of them but it allowed each of them to wield their magic. He looked out over the ocean, feeling the spray upon his face. "You step into hell. When you come back out, it has  marked your soul. That allows you to wield my magic." Kyran looked back at Haraka. Black veins stood out on his face, a response to his extreme emotions. His memories, the mark upon his soul was at the surface of his mind. His demons swirled about, exalted in his pain. "I don't like to talk much, Haraka. I'm not comfortable around people." A truth but not the entire truth as to why he wanted to stop talking. Kyran pushed off the railing and turned to face Haraka. The veins on his face were already returning to normal.

"I apologize for not being good company, but I'm going to lock myself in my cabin for the remainder of the journey. When we come upon the beast, come get me. Until then, I don't wish to be disturbed much" Kyran said gently. He didn't dislike Haraka. In fact, he had a feeling they might become good friends over time. However, the call of the sea made his fingers itch and Haraka had dredged up unpleasant memories. All he wanted to do now was hole up to write the days away. Kyran gently clapped Haraka's shoulder. "It's not you. I have too many bad memories that are easy to trip. When they rise, its better that I'm away from people. Especially because of my demons." Kyran stalked past Haraka and headed to his cabin. Once there, the lights were dimmed except for a single candle upon his desk. Kyran pulled out his trusty writing pen, put the tip to paper, and began to write.

Demons at Sea Empty Re: Demons at Sea

Post by Haraka Omaras 13th July 2018, 2:15 pm

Haraka wasn't sure what to say to Kyran. By the time words had found him, the red head was already on a different part of the ship already. It was the first time since his soul was healed that there had been a sense of wordless had struck him. This was different than those times too. Back then it was a suffocating frustration, now? It was like something the other said had unnerved the half blood and he wasn't even sure why. Not knowing why just dug under the skin even more. This bothered him, so he tried to think about something else. Well, the demon would have liked to ask himself what he had done to trigger key, but he was already mostly sure it was magic related. "Kyrans magic isn't like mine at all."
He spoke quietly to himself before slowly curling his tail back up. The remaining time felt like a blur almost. As some points the mantis shrimp was reading the book, at other times he was writing in his journal. He always made sure to write anything there in the dead old language of his lost home country, just in case anyone ever tried to read it. Some of it was medical notes, some were cooking tips.
Everything he was currently adding to it was medical related or related to the book he was reading, though nothing Omaras saw as worth enough to share with the world. Meals were kept small, foods gentle on his already disturbed system. In the early mornings and the deep nights he could not keep his hands off of himself after all. That didn't stop wind from giving him a horrible look of upset whenever the ice blue skinned person was asleep.

This was why he refused to look at wind during those times. It would be horrible, right? To have the first look at someone you loves face be full of upset. What could be worse to have as a first glance? As psychotic as the wind spirit was, they were a large reason why he was even emotionally strong enough to be in a guild, to be on this job. Wings upset over his self harm, but the motion sickness made it harder to handle. Every day and night those features were there and there was no way to tuck them away while suffering from so much motion sickness. The book was at least a very good distraction, putting him in another world. The character, their feelings and thoughts, it made everything easier.
It helped keep him in check during the day when everything was quiet, the fisherman doing their own thing and Kyran tucked away. When they arrived to the right, it was deep in the night. The stars shimmered over the vast waters in the dark sky. The brightest light was likely his own body. This was made worse by the fact that he was now dressing down to prepare for swimming. His pants, vest, shoes, shirt, and socks all went into his bag along with the book and his other belongings.
This left Haraka with his upper torso covered in wrappings and a water proof fabric, his lower regions covered by skin tight water proof fabric. He was ready to swim, to get off this ship for however long he could.

The motion sickness was horrible enough to get him to not cover the shame that was carved all across the back. Countless years of carving through the skin at a fruitless attempt to get at wings that didn't even have a single mar. The wings that were shaped so draconian, let the color and armor, even the different hues of blues... was undeniably demon traits, demon enough to almost overshadow that the giant dragon wings were not shaped like a demons at all. Some marks on his back were only minutes old, some days, some weeks, but not months or years. The marks never remained more than a month. He walked over to the wooden ships railing, the arched feet moving gently enough to avoid the thick talons on them from damaging anything. Would it be okay to finally dive inside the water? His entire essence ached to dive in the salty water, so this was exactly what he did.

Demons at Sea Empty Re: Demons at Sea

Post by Kyran 15th July 2018, 9:58 am

Kyran was feeling rather satisfied with himself as he emerged from below deck. The past few days spent writing had been massively productive. He had gotten about halfway through the manuscript of The Hunt Begins and despite him not supposed to work upon it, partway through the third book of his Cursed Dynasty series. Cold sea air brushed against the back of his neck, causing Kyran to shiver. Even so it was nice to breathe the fresh air again. Below decks had been unbelievably stuffy, humid, all together unpleasant. It had become unbearable after a time, forcing the mage to seek shelter under the ocean sky. Kyran noticed Haraka jumping off the side of the boat. Looked like his partner had the same issue Kyran had. The boat was too small, too confining. He moved to lean against the railing. Looking out onto the water, Kyran paled. The water writhed with jellyfish. More than that, fins cut through the surface of the water. Sharks. There was no telling what else lurked beneath the water. "Looks like we found the beast, me maties!" The captain shouted. "He's off the starboard bow!" Kyran ran to the other railing. Haraka was still in the water. "HARAKA!!! Get out of the water! Now! Thassalus is in there with you!" There was no doubt in Kyran's mind that Haraka could deal with the jellyfish and sharks, the beast of a fish they had been sent to hunt seemed a little outside what the demon mage could handle alone.

Kyran searched frantically for a solution to his problem as he unlimbered Calamity from his back. It was a good thing he had thought to strap it on before coming above deck. He had a new spell that would be immensely useful in this situation but it was hampered greatly at the moment. Actually several new spells would help him but every one of them required something the battlefield was lacking. Kyran used his rings to make an incision on his right hand. A short pause came before he created another incision on his left. There could be no chances taken with this mission. Blood swirled over the backs of his hands as he prepared the spells. The demons hovered within Kyran's mind. They were lethargic as they always were after days of writing. That gave the red head a little leeway in this battle. "Haraka! I need you to buy me some time!" Kyran shouted unsure of where his partner was.

"Oh here he comes the massive lad! Come on then ye landlubbers! Time ta earn your pay!" The captain shouted hoisting a spear of some kind. Kyran shook his head at the man. What could a non magical man with a non magical spear do? He drew back on Calamity sighting the charging fish. The thing was massive. Kyran unleashed four arrows in rapid succession. Each struck the armored hide of the fish but Thassalus simply shrugged them off. He slammed his head into the side of the boat rocking the entire thing. However, miraculously, the boat held together. The captain whooped, shaking his spear at the fish. "Ha ha! Take that ya scurvy dog! Ye can't best the might oh the Black Atlantis! Give us yer best shot!" Kyran rolled his eyes at the captain's enthusiasm. The ship could handle maybe two or three more shots. At best. They would have to beat Thassalus before the fish put a crack in the hull. That would make it nearly impossible to get back to shore safely. Still, Kyran couldn't deny the thrill of the challenge that was now presenting itself. This looked like it was going to be a tough fight.

Medea eyes the captain, seeming to like his enthusiasm. Kyran almost shoved the cat down. Then he remembered the benefits of pulling the cat to the forefront. She might be a useful asset in this fight. Still better to keep her in reserve for now. He had no idea which demon's help he would need though he was loathe to take any of their assistance. Kyran fired Calamity into the water, hoping to bleed some sharks. He struggled to even hit one of them. Thassalus had driven them under the water, making them difficult to see. A snippet of a conversation five days ago floated across Kyran's mind. "Haraka! I need you to bleed in the water! As much as possible and spread it all over!" Kyran shouted before realizing what that would do. "I'll try to keep the sharks off of you if I can." The captain was giving him a strange look. Kyran returned it when he realized the man was using the tip of the spear to scratch his scalp. How safe was that? Thassalus made a deep rumbling noise as it swam about the ship. Whatever its purpose, Kyran didn't like the sound of it. Was that a sound of aggression? A sound that would summon others of its kind? Or a sound that might weaken the hull of the ship? The possibilities were endless but instead of scaring Kyran, it excited him. He was looking forward to this. This could become a fight of a lifetime.

Demons at Sea Empty Re: Demons at Sea

Post by Haraka Omaras 15th July 2018, 6:28 pm

Something happened in the ocean water that wouldn't be likely to happen for the half demons male side anywhere else. The gentleness fell from every bit of the body, as if rubbed away by the salts. Here was the place he had confidence. With land? It could be so confusing to see the wrong from right, or which shade of grey was the paler hue. In the ocean?
It was like he could taste every creatures intent that was around him inside of the bitter water. For once it seemed like he had a demonic aura, it screamed and seeped off of every pour and fiber. It was nobility, it was self control, it was pride in the purest of senses. It was almost like his blood put a transparent crown on the crustacean when the ocean made the blood become active.
The idea of his fellow guild mate suggesting the shrimp tailed half blood get out of the water put a smile of amusement on Harakas face.
    Safer?
Sure, being on the boat seemed safer now, but wouldn't that be running? On the side point, he hated the thought of suffering more motion sickness when having only just got off the ship not so long ago. The sharks would be a handful due to the numbers, but it sounded like his partner thought that he would be the one struggling. Out spoke a voice that was deep and bellowing, somehow holding some of the soothing softness from before. "I entered for the Thassalus!"

This person was the sapphires purity and the aquamarines safe passage over the ocean. His bodies light continued to shine as brightly as ever, the different blues ever shifting with every thought and emotion that passed. "I'll get your blood!" Omaras wasn't suggesting he would hurt Kyran, no, not in the least. Avoiding the jellyfish would be easy, since they can't even move on their own. Those things were basically living zappy flesh balloons that flattened out on land.
Honestly avoiding them would be smarter than fighting them. Jellyfish can't purposely move at anyone and striking one runs the risk of being shocked. As for the sharks? They didn't see him as an outsider, but they definitely viewed him as competition. What do you do with competition? Great whites have a sort of group mentality, but being a shrimp? That doesn't mesh well.
A white mist started to form in both hands before a pair of short swords made of ice formed, one in each hand. These creatures could definitely over power him, but speed and intelligence was on Omaras side. This didn't stop any of them from continuing their movements, but the bright target moved like a star in the sea out for blood. They wanted to bite him? Both blades dug into one great whites nose, pulling both blades out before cutting both arms and swimming down out of the way of a different sharks jaws.

The shark with the damaged nose swam away, if it would live? He didn't know, but didn't care. It had intended to kill him, why should there be any mercy in return? Swimming towards a different bend in the group of now nine sharks, he ducked to its underside. Cutting the eyes would be useless, but a good pound with his tail at least stunned the animal. Briefly not using the tail in swimming wasn't a big deal, the legs and wings had still been working the entire time. With it stunned, he slashed at the stomach until the coming of another shark forced him to move.
Haraka cut his own chest with one of the blades a bit, leaving more blood of his own behind. It was then his ego was reminded to stay in check, one shark getting a hold of one of the naturally armored wings. The biting pressure hurt, but enough slashes to the nose caused it to release. While no marks were left on the pristine looking wings, a little blood leaked out from between the flexible blue bright armor.
There were seven sharks left, one of the three gone having started falling rather than just swimming. The ice blue skinned man wasn't going to come out of this clean, but the young looking old man considered that a good thing.
He was asked for blood, now it was mingled in clouds within the a good portion of the ocean near the ship.

Post by Kyran 17th July 2018, 11:11 am

Kyran watched Haraka whip the sharks into a frenzy. That idiot. Opening up one shark would have been all that was required to draw the others off. But no. Haraka had to fight with every single shark, opening wounds upon not only himself but several of the sharks. This wasn't going to end well. Calamity eased back, an arrow flickering into existence on the string. It was a good thing that these arrows were made of energy or they wouldn't get anywhere in the water. The string twanged as the arrow was fired. Bullseye. One of the sharks surrounding Haraka jerked. The arrow had drilled a hole through its middle. It bleed heavily as it sank toward the ocean floor. With the influx of blood, the other sharks ignored Haraka entirely. They hurried to feed upon their fallen. The ocean was now well saturated with blood. That was good. The Thassalus looked like it was gearing up for another run at the Black Atlantis. The captain looked ecstatic, hoisting his spear for when the beast came near. Kyran couldn't help rolling his eyes. This man was a complete lunatic. Who wanted a giant fish to smash into their boat?

Medea pushed her way to the forefront. It was allowed because Kyran believed he would need her assistance. As his features changed, one of the spells he had held in reserved was unleashed. "Yandere Princess: Offensive." Kyran said, as a princess formed out of his blood. She appeared beautiful, almost like Gaia. In her hand was a wicked-looking knife. It made Kyran shudder internally. This spell was rather temperamental. "My love." He smiled caressing the princess' cheek. "There are those that wish to hurt me. Protect your weak prince from them?" The expression on the princess' face became ugly. The knife flashed as she held it up. Kyran forced himself to keep smiling. "That big stupid fish is trying to break me." The spell turned toward Thassalus with an expression deadly enough that Kyran was surprised the fish didn't drop dead right then. The spell stepped off the edge of the ship, vanishing when she touched the cloudy water. Thassalus began its charge then. Kyran raised Calamity but waited. If he attacked first, his spell might come back to attack him. That was not something he wanted to happen. It appeared to the left of Thassalus. With vicious glee, it carved into the fish's left side. Blood quickly clouded what little clear water was left. Bellowing, Thassalus veered away from the Black Atlantis.

"Haraka? Get out of the water." Kyran said as he spied something on the horizon. The water was teeming with sharks advancing quickly upon the boat and more specifically, the injured in the water. One of those injured was clearly Haraka. "And don't argue with me. We've got a veritable fuck ton of sharks coming at us. There is no way you can fight them all off and the Thassalus." Kyran lowered Calamity and looked for the Thassalus. It was shaking, diving, trying to shake his spell. Unfortunately for the fish, the princess had honed in on its scent. She kept reappearing to repeatedly stab the fish. He didn't quite like the vicious glee the spell took in inflicting pain. Still, it was keeping their quarry distracted. Kyran hoped that would be sufficient until his other spell was completely charged. He glanced out at the approaching line of sharks. They may have made things slightly more difficult for themselves by bloodying the water.

The captain grabbed Key's coat. "What are ye doing, ya crazy fool?!" Kyran's eyes closed against the spittle flying into his face. What was wrong with this captain? "I want me shot at the beast! Not ta have some mage pull it out from under me!" Kyran pushed the man back violently. His claws were held carefully away from the man. There was no need to hurt their employer. "You'll get your fucking shot, captain! Calm the fuck down!" Kyran wiped the spit from his face. "Back off and let me do the job you hired me for. If you want the final blow, we'll get it for you. However, we have to get through that things scaly hide first!" Kyran stalked away from the captain before he threw the idiot overboard. They needed him alive if they were going to get their paycheck. Something Kyran desperately needed if he was going to stay off Tolgalen. Pull his arm off! Yeah nothing wrong with a little mutilation. You'll feel better, I'll get a laugh and you'll still get paid It was hard not being able to strangle his demons. It would make him feel so much better to wrap his fingers around their throats and squeeze. Instead, Kyran had to settle for ignoring them. This wasn't the time to lose his temper. He looked around for Haraka. "Do you think you could lend a hand against our real target?" Kyran asked in an irritated tone. There was no need to take things out on his partner but at the moment he couldn't hold his irritation back. He had to lash out at someone or something. He would apologize later when the battle was over.

Demons at Sea Empty Re: Demons at Sea

Post by Haraka Omaras 17th July 2018, 3:22 pm

The aquatic creature looked over at Kyran briefly, why did they keep telling him to get on the ship? Didn't they remember how useless he would be if that was done? The motion sickness would make spell casting impossible. Hell, the reason his wings were out in the first place was due to hard it was to focus with the motion sickness out in the first place. These disgusting wings, the terrible reminder that was too large and too obvious to hide once they were out. What was that mess he felt coming? Looking in that direction definitely made the yells to get on the boat a bit more understandable. The shrimp was positive there was no way in hell he could take down what was essentially a legion of sharks. So the young looking old man took a deep breath to bring back a calm within himself. The demonic presence left his energy as his energy felt more like the squishy normal self.
It's okay, just deal with them one at a time. 'Did you drag him to a sea job just to have the guy scared to leave the boat be the one who does everything? Are you that useless?' He internally chided himself, the water in his face and throat stopping any actual vocalization at this time. The ice blue skinned man started to dart around the sharks, slashing and stabbing all that he could at their sensitive regions.
The sooner he got free of the shark mess, the sooner he could help with everything else. One of the reasons he joined the guild in the first place was to not be useless, but it was the guy on the boat that had been getting attacks in, not Haraka.

It may not have been his fault for being an aquatic predator, but it was his fault for not being able to drive them away. Sharks were normally so easy top drive off, but then again he's also not normally asked to bleed a lot. It was probably the blood that had likely kept the group from breaking apart, but it just meant it was his fault for not being able to follow directions good enough. Now Key had started speaking again. Annoyed? Of course he was, what good had he done so far? Wouldn't you be if you were dragged to a boat for days than faced with the very real possibility of either having to take a creature out on your own or having the ship everyone has been on eventually get completely destroyed.
It felt overwhelming, but it was impossible to back out now. Deep breaths, keep calm, continue to think. He took in a long deep breath in the water before diving deeper within the ocean, his bodies light still visible from above. 'You know what to do, get rid of your weapons. Your arms wont be mobile for quite awhile.' Now being next to the beasts hide and the very vicious spell that seemed to have no interest in the shrimp, the sea creature stuck both of his ice khopesh into their hide.
After that? He backed away from the best, raising his arms. As much as he hated the wings and tail, their helpfulness could not be denied by him. It was those limbs that allowed him to still be mobile, even when his arms were no longer movable. Dark blue salty ocean water started charging from his arms, hands, and chest.

After that all he had to do was to keep focus, remain on the move to avoid getting hurt by another shark, and keep calm. The spells charging made his arms immobile all on its own and pain was already an easy thing to ignore.

Demons at Sea Empty Re: Demons at Sea

Post by Kyran 19th July 2018, 1:19 pm

Kyran found it difficult to hold back his demons, the longer this battle went on. Medea was using her position at the forefront to her advantage. Look at how useless that demon is. Have the princess attack him when she's finished off the big fish. Let him know exactly how far below us he really is. She hissed in his ear. Despite his best attempts, Kyran found himself almost agreeing with the cat. Haraka hadn't done hardly anything yet. A couple of sharks was nothing. Kyran had taken out two in rapid succession. His eyes, with their golden hue, began to glow as Medea pushed her advantage. Kyran teetered on the edge of control. He'd been constantly on that edge for the last month or two since Gruen had placed the sword over his head. The frustration over his inability to do anything about that threat eroded Kyran's ability to control his emotions. Therefore it eroded his ability to control his demons. They knew it too. They were constantly pushing, just a little further with every mission. He was close to snapping and giving into their demands. Not now. Not now. Kyran repeated the mantra to himself as he worked hard to push Medea back again. No! You need me! You need the challenge of beating that stupid old captain and your demon mage person thing! Kyran grit his teeth and responded, though it drew strange looks from the captain again. "I can do that without you.

Groaning, Kyran felt his second spell draw deep from his health. It wasn't a spell to use lightly. The princess spell was keeping the Thassalus well distracted, constantly teleporting using the steady stream of blood. Still the more time that passed, the more the Thassalus seemed to ignore the spell. It was turning toward the ship once more. The line of sharks, all frenzied from the great amount of blood in the water, had reached the outer circle of the jelly fish. Kyran hoped that whatever Haraka was doing would deal with that threat. Otherwise they would have bigger problems than the Thassalus. Speaking of which, Kyran ran to tackle the captain as he leaned over the railing. Seconds later, the Thassalus slammed into the side of the Black Atlantis. There was an audible crack from the ship and as the Thassalus swam away, Kyran could feel it settle lower in the water than it had before. "Haraka! The ship can't take another hit like that!" Kyran shouted to his partner as he scrambled to his feet. "We need to take it down soon or we'll be swimming all the way back to Fiore!"

The captain came to his feet spitting in fury. Kyran wasn't expecting the crazy old man to slap him upside the head with his spear... repeatedly. "What are you doing?!" Kyran asked snagging the spear. A swift tug pulled it from the man's grasp. The captain proceeded to try and pummel Kyran with his fists. Kyran side stepped as quickly as he could, not wanting to hurt the man. "Ye cost me me shot at the beastie! Whatcha shove me outta the way for? I coulda gutted the beast with me perfect shot!" Kyran wasn't sure what to make of the man's rambling. The captain had hired two mages for this job for a reason. Or were they just supposed to hold the fish still while the captain poked at it? Sighing, Kyran handed the spear back to the captain. "Then take your shot before he hits the ship and knocks you overboard." The captain eyed Kyran suspiciously. "I know what I'm doing, boy!" He was still muttering to himself as Kyran walked away. Kyran didn't want to be anywhere near the man when the captain threw his spear. It was more likely to hit an ally then the Thassalus by Kyran's reckoning. He looked back out onto the water to try and find the Thassalus once again. The fish was writhing in the water. From what Kyran could tell, his spell had ruptured the left eyeball. She was currently inside the eye socket, gleefully stabbing away. At least Kyran assumed she was stabbing the fish. He could only see her legs sticking out from the eye socket, drenched in eye jelly and Thassalus blood. Kyran shuddered slightly. The sharks were circling the Thassalus. It was only a matter of time before they tore it apart.

Demons at Sea Empty Re: Demons at Sea

Post by Haraka Omaras 19th July 2018, 2:58 pm

There was something the spell had been collecting that had gone unnoticed to the aquatic creature. Even as the charge continued to collect its water from his flesh and soul to around his arms and hands, gathering like a huge weight, there was no notice. Of course the sharks would have been drawn to the superior sea water, it was a better lure than any blood. It only apparent he was even doing a spell when the water pillared above him. Well, this was normally around the time salty ocean water pillared above, swirling in its enraged wait... but this time it was carrying extra.
This was out of sight for Haraka, it was one of the places he would not have thought to look for sharks. At one point it looked and felt like there were no more sharks near the ship... when did this happen? But this was not the time to loose focus, he had to focus. Why did the water feel so much harder to hold this time around? The reason was also where all the sharks had slowly vanished to during the entire time his spell was charging, they had gone into his water. The dark blue sea water that pillared tall above its caster, filled to the brim with tons of very upset and confused sizely sharks.
While this was clearly not part of the spells original design, there wasn't any way to pull any of the sharks out after they wandered into the deep base of the spell. What should have looked like a tall swirling pillar of water building up to become a wave instead looked like a giant water tornado filled to the brim with sharks, sharks, and more sharks. None of these great whites looked happy with this.

Omaras started to move his body to a good location as soon as he felt the spell finish nearing. The life it took to create it was unpleasantly painful, but this was also an effective spell that had some amount of range. Even in the ocean, its water was different enough to still do damage. The half dragon was completely unaware of how tall ans terrifying the swirling nightmare above his arms looked, but he started having some idea after the spell was finally fully charged, so released onto the Thassalus.
What was a shark tornado had become a massive shark wave, the massive fish getting pelted with sharks that fell high above in the sky and the ocean blood so blue that had held onto the deadly fish for so long. For a brief moment the young looking old man felt completely flabbergasted. There was no words to properly describe the amount of shock going through him when he only expected to see water but instead saw sharks falling from the sky like some weird upset rain. A twenty meter long attack of sharks had pelted the giant fish. Those who survived the landing were more than okay with expressing just how 'happy' they were to be tossed like a toy from the air onto the massive fish beast.
It was at this point that Haraka decided that... this was a bit much for his brain to handle. There was just something about what just happened that really hurt his head, mainly that it was such a bizarre sight that the very idea of it happening never even occurred to him.

The strange reality haunted the ice skin colored mans brain as he swam to the ship, even as he climbed back up. Not even the terrible motion sickness could clear the image out of the old mans brain.

Demons at Sea Empty Re: Demons at Sea

Post by Kyran 24th July 2018, 4:57 pm

Kyran gaped at the attack Haraka brought to bear upon Thassalus. What sharks hadn't been killed were latching onto the stunned fish to naw at its armor. It appeared as if the attack had destroyed the Yandere as well. That was alright. It left Kyran room to finish off the giant fish. "Nice work Haraka! Now stand back." Kyran lifted his arms above his head. A large sword like a metal table with an edge, a handle and a curved top appeared in Kyran's hands. An eye blinked where the hilt met the blade. Ahriman clapped delightedly. It was strange how childlike the wolf could be. Shaking his head, Kyran swung his sword downwards. A crimson crescent spat out the end of it. The edges of the crescent glowed black while red energy crepitated inside its confines. The sea parted as it traveled swiftly towards the Thassalus. The fish turned just in time to take the crackling energy to the head. It bellowed as Kyran's attack cut a bloody furrow down its face. Not quite enough huh? Kyran furrowed his brow in concentration. The muscles in his arms bulged, ripping the sleeves of his uniform. Red energy burst out all around Kyran as he concentrated. "Huuuuuuuu....HA!" Kyran shouted slashing the sword around him furiously. The Thassalus was trying to gather itself up for a charge when the resulting barrage of red energy crescents struck.

Kyran's eyes widened as the Thassalus seemed to shatter. Maybe he had put a little too much effort into attacking the fish. He released the spell, turning the sword in his hand to black dust. "Uh Haraka? Would you kindly gather as many pieces of the Thassalus before..." Kyran trailed off when he realized any shark in the vicinity had been decimated. That spell was definitely not one to mess around with. The captain came at Kyran, arm raised. He wasn't in the mood. Hissing loudly, Kyran let Medea take control for a moment. The cold calculation in his face, the slow swinging of his tail, the licking of his lips parted just enough to show the pointed teeth stopped the captain cold. He turned on his heel and walked away from Kyran as quickly as possible. Satisfied, Medea released control to curl up in Kyran's mind. The redhead jumped into one of the boats being lowered into the water. He had caused this mess, he might as well help pick up the pieces of the Thassalus.
