The Neko Curse Empty The Neko Curse

    Job Title: The Neko Curse

    Rank: C

Player Requirements: 2 players minimum, 4 maximum (One of you will be cursed! Decide this amongst yourselves.); 2 D Rank mages can take this job, but a third is suggested to help with combat.

Job Requirements: Thread must have a minimum word count of 2,500.
Free your friend from the neko curse! You can do this by, a) finding a way to get the mage give you the antidote or b) kill them because by all fictional rules, killing the person responsible for a curse should nullify it, right?
You do not have to roll dice to fight enemies, but you can if you would like to. However, at least one enemy (weak/normal/strong) must be encountered in your thread along with the boss! You can incorporate more obstacles if you want in order to make things more interesting.

Job Location: Anywhere you see fit! This is your story after all.

Job Description: While out with your friend(s), an experimental mage swaps out one of your drinks for their new potion; a concoction that turns the afflicted party into a Neko! On the surface, this might seem harmless and actually pretty fun, but the characteristics of a Neko make you (the cursed individual) powerless, easily distracted, and frightened by things you would never have been before! All in all, the curse is extremely annoying and will likely interfere with your daily life to the point of dysfunctionality. Your (the non-cursed party/parties) goal is to track down the mage responsible for cursing your friend and free them from it in either way you see fit, all while making sure they don’t get themselves hurt or lost. Along the way, you can include items that might help you out, such as a spray bottle, a collar and leash, or anything else you can think of.

    Enemies:
Weak: Butterflies; these fluttery insects are sure to distract your Neko friend from the task at hand, effectively making them forget what they were supposed to be doing because they just can’t fight the urge to swat at them. You can ward the butterflies off by killing them with the weakest spell you have or just shooing them away. The choice is yours.

Normal: Empty boxes; as you might know, boxes are very attractive to cats for playing or sleeping in. If you happen to come across these, you will definitely want to keep your Neko friend as far away as possible, if possible. If your Neko friend comes into contact with a box, they might get stuck inside one or, again, be distracted by how big the inside of these cardboard castles seem to be. How the encounter goes is up to you, but whatever you decide, these boxes will definitely slow down your mission.

Strong: Dogs; uh-oh, a cat’s worst enemy. If you happen to come across a dog, your Neko friend will become frightened and try to run away because of the loud barking. The only way to get past the dog is to scare it off; make sure to keep a close eye on your Neko friend! You wouldn’t want to lose them before they can get cured. Dogs are tough, so you’ll want to think up your best scare tactic, but DO NOT kill them. That’s just cruel.

Boss: The Experimental Mage; ah, that sneaky bastard. They’re the one that caused this whole mess and they must be stopped, ASAP. If you decide to go with option ‘a’, how the situation plays out is up to you, but be sure to keep in mind that this mage is incredibly stubborn and arrogant, and therefore not easily convinced. If you decide to go with option ‘b’, proceed with caution! As was previously mentioned, they are very sneaky and will not hesitate to break the rules and play unfairly. Keep your guard up and look out for whatever they might throw at you, literally. This mage will resort to throwing objects at you (whatever they can get their hands on according to your chosen location) and even some potions they have on hand. These three potions last for a single post each and include: one that can throw off your center of gravity, another that can temporarily take out your depth perception, and a final potion that turns your fingers into gummy worms (nobody is really sure why they made that, but it’s there.) They will also try to distract your Neko friend with catnip so they can knock them out and keep them for experimentation. Without their cheap tricks, they are fairly easy to beat and can be taken down with three hits of C-rank damage (6 D-rank). (Gender is up to the players)

Reward: 10k jewels; either given by the mage upon receiving the antidote as a bribe for you to leave them alone forever OR spoils collected after you destroy their ass in combat.
