♪ Damsel in Distress! ♪ (Job w/ Elvira)

Elvira sat at the piano, her toes slowly tracing circles through the water as she pressed the same key repeatedly; she hoped performing the action enough times would suddenly summon forth brilliance. She'd been there all morning driving herself slowly mad when the man stumbled in looking for help.

She resolved to let one of the other, more motivated, guild members handle it. She returned her gaze to the piano and prepared to once again tune out the world --then she heard then gentle voice of Rin Mayou stepping up to the plate. She sighed and once again looked over her shoulder. The petite girl who'd recently helped her join Crystal Swan looked as though she'd be the one to assist the panic-stricken man and, despite Elvira's best efforts, she liked the girl.

She glanced back down at the ridiculous aquarium piano. Sometimes she wondered if the Chrysalli's reputation as a home to artists was more akin to a home for the ludicrously insane; surely someone was, to conjure up the instrument before her. She closed the piano and stood, her little feet making small splashes in the pool. Elvira slipped on her shoes and moved to stand behind Rin.

"How can we help?"

Elvira simply nodded at Rin, indicating she was already carrying everything she needed. She waited to make sure the younger woman was ready as well and then turned to the man, whose breathing had finally started to slow down.

"The bar is over there." She gestured. "Why don't you have something to drink and try and relax, we have the best wizards in the world here, your family will be safe." She had no idea where that had come from, nor did she have even the slightest shred of evidence to prove it was true, but it sounded good --hopefully she wasn't wrong.

"A-alright, thank you! My wife's name is Miris and my daughter is Osona, please don't let anything happen to them." He said desperately, even as he was being give a little nudge towards the bar.

"They'll be back before you know it." She said confidently, finally shooing the man off. Elvira was used to telling people what they wanted to hear, her life with the old lady had taught her that. Of course people's lives usually weren't hanging in the balance when she said it --she'd lived close enough to the forests surrounding Magnolia long enough to know that vulcans wouldn't kill the women, although they probably weren't having the time of their lives either.

She flashed Rin a confident smile and the pair began walking towards the sky city's exit, the one she was fairly sure pointed in Magnolia's direction. The streets were quieter now, more manageable. It seemed everyone going "ashore" had already headed for Hosenka and everyone else was working or doing whatever people did on this absurd contraption.

She looked over at her bubbly companion. Over the past several days she'd been making a concerted effort to learn as much as she could about the guild's members without being obvious, but this one remained largely a mystery. Perhaps her relation to the boy with the pretty blue eyes would be a good place to start; still, Elivra wasn't convinced Rin knew exactly what her relationship was to him either judging by the interactions she'd witnessed.

As they reached the walkway leading down to the edge of the lake in which the city floated Elvira made her move, the blunt approach, it'd be worth a laugh if nothing else.

"So...where's your boyfriend today?"
