    Job Title: Obsidian Gold
    Rank: 100 Year
Player Requirements: Must be S Rank, maximum of 5
Job Requirements: 17,000 words per person
    Job Location: Tera Ignis
    Job Description:

High in mountains of Tera Ignis lies a dragon made entirely of a golden, glass-like stone. The rock holds the properties of steel, and the color of pure gold, but cuts like an obsidian scalpel. For a great deal of time you've heard of the beast, and now you have the power and means to go after it. You quest is to ascend the highest mountain in Tera Ignis, well above the Guild Hall, and confront the Obsidian Dragon to get some of the precious ore that it's scales are made of.

Enemies can be rolled or automatically spawned. All enemies are RP based, so their health is up to you; try and make it believable.

    Enemies:
    Weak: Highwayman
An individual who's wanting to rob you blind, either through force, or witt. Sometimes they gang up, other times they take the lone wolf approach.

    Normal: Dark Mage
Mountains are great places to hide since they offer lots of dangers that the magic council and their petty rune knights wouldn't bother facing. So long as they don't bother the local guild, or make their presence known to them, they don't have anything to worry about. The mage's skill with their magic is the same as you with yours, and they have the same amount of spells; what those are, are up to you.

    Strong: Wild Animals
These are predatory creatures such as bears, mountain lions, bob cats, and other things with massive teeth. They aren't accustomed to seeing humans, so have no fear of them. They're fairly strong, and will try to ambush you.

    Boss: Gold Obsidian Dragon
The dragon's breath attack is part steel, part earth and is extremely effective against weak enemies. It being made entirely of such a heavy material means it's unable to fly, but at the same time, can't be poisoned. The dragon lack a nose to smell with, and makes up for the missing sense with exceptional hearing compared to other dragons. It's able to change the size, shape, and density of its tail at will, as well as fire spikes made of its body from its back.

    Reward:

    • 1 Artifact
    • 50,000 Jewel for every 25,000 words written (Cap 200,000)

Obsidian Gold (Job) Empty Re: Obsidian Gold (Job)

Post by Godlike Frederik 22nd May 2018, 4:39 am

Rugged were the ten thousand steps of Terra Ignis, a roughly carved out staircase into
the mountain that would lead you all the way up to the enigmatic mountain town. Over
time nature had the chance to run its course, rain and the harsh winds that sheered past
you had worn out most of the steps. Corrosion had set in, gladdening some of the steps
making it very difficult to find some grip with your foot. One wrong move basically
meant that you would tumble all the way back down, a fate that Dahau would rather
    avoid.
But he didn’t have a choice after all Terra Ignis wasn’t only famous because it sat on the
top of a mountain plateau but it was also known for one other peculiar reason. One that
could prove a challenge the moment they would learn of Dahau’s presence. This problem
went by the name of Infinity Hydra, a legal guild of worldwide renown. It had brought
forth some of the most eccentric and strongest mages in Fiore and was lead by the fire
lord Ardere Kasaii. But more importantly, the guild was known for its zealous crusade
against evil, or to be more accurate, the dark guilds that plagued Earthland. The guild
had made it its sole mission to exterminate every guild that operated outside the
jurisdiction of the council and strived for chaos instead of balance. In dire times most
would praise the cutthroat approach of the famed guild, saying that it was the only way
to really rid the world of the evildoers that wouldn’t learn otherwise.

Knowing this Dahau knew that entering the town through public transportation would
raise suspicion, his attire would definitely catch the attention of any guard or a watchful
eye. He had also thought of teleporting himself, but doing so would alarm any mage in
the city, it meant a sudden fluxation in magical power that would suddenly pop up out of
nowhere. A spike that basically was similar to carrying a large sign above his head
saying ‘Dark mage over here’ with a large arrow pointing his way. It could be seen as an
act of aggression, and Dahau wasn’t really planning on provoking the guild.
It left him with no other option than to climb the ill steps all the way to the top, so that
he could slip past the city unnoticed and move deeper into the mountain range.

So if his goal wasn’t Terra Ignis then why would he climb these dreadful steps and risk
provocation with the one guild that was set on destroying dark mages. Deep inside the
mountain range, hidden away in some mysterious valley was a creature of myth. And
not just any creature of myth, but one of the strongest beasts that once filled the skies,
    namely a dragon.
Now you would think, a dragon?! Dragons aren’t so mysterious, sure they are strong but
in Fiore they aren’t necessarily creatures of myth. Once or twice these powerful beings
had descended upon the lands and wrecked villages, some even had taught humans the
secret art of the dragons and thus creating the famed dragon slayers. Ergo, dragons
weren’t mythical creatures at all. So why would he even track one, the truth was that
Dahau didn’t even know if this dragon really existed, it was just a vague rumour,
something that could easily be from a children’s book. The Golden Dragon. Nowhere in
any chronicle or studies on dragons had there be a single notion of a dragon made of
gold. Even the dragons that considered themselves allies to humankind never heard of it.
Sure we still understand barely anything about the dragons and most what we know is
from ancient times, but surely someone through all those eras would have noticed a
dragon clad in gold. There was literally nothing, until a month ago. A lost and weary
traveller had strayed far from the usual paths surrounding Terra Ignis and unknowingly
ventured deeper and deeper into the mountains. The reason was that of a storm, it had
shortened his sight to the point he couldn’t even see the path anymore. In fact, you could
call it a miracle he didn’t fell down the mountain at all, either way, he returned after four
weeks, fed and healthy, which was already strange enough as it is, but he also came back
with an even more wondrous story. That after his struggle to survive the harsh
environments he’d eventually stumbled upon a small backwater village at the edge of an
extremely large valley. Which normally was hidden underneath a layer of clouds and
mist. It was almost invisible to the human eye. There at the border, he collapses but was
quickly found by the townspeople, who fed and clothed the stranger. And during his
time in this mysterious village, he saw it, the golden-winged creature that descended
from the sky. It was brief and the only time, but he entirely convinced what he saw was
the real deal. A dragon with golden scales, a magnificent creature, the royalty of all
    winged beasts.

However, despite the discovery of a creature so wondrous, Dahau wasn’t venturing
through an inhospitable environment to gaze in awe at such a mystical creature. No a
being that rare must have certain beneficial properties it helped him survive, properties
that could be of use. Just imagine what he and his guild could learn from capturing and
dissecting such a specimen like that. The magical prowess they could siphon from it.
Rumour or not, the potential benefits this creature could provide was worth checking it
    out at least.

The path Dahau followed was rather steep and it took quite some endurance to climb it,
in fact, even he with all his magical power was rather happy the moment his hand
clenched the edges of the last step. Only so that he could pull himself up with one final
effort. While panting he stood at the top and he could gaze across the entire plateau with
it in the distance Terra Ignis. For a moment Dahau concentrated, focussing his mind and
his entire being towards the town. He could sense it, the brimming energy of daily life,
the small specks of dust with their inadequate amount of magical power, the
townspeople. Among them were bigger sources, especially at one location, probably the
Infinity Hydra guild hall. Logically a lot of mages would gather there. Some were
probably training, Dahau knew this because every time they cast a spell he would feel
it. To him, it was as clear like the day, as if you would throw a rock in a still pond and would
    ripple the water.
Suddenly there was something else, an ill feeling that surged through him, which forced
him to break off his sensory ability. Someone knew he was around, someone sensed
him! But Dahau knew who it was, in Terra Ignis there was only one person powerful
enough to sense his presence, to feel that Dahau was gazing into the guild hall in his own
unique way. And Dahau wasn’t planning on facing this person anytime soon, even
though he knew he could handle the fiery mage, it was a risk he wasn’t willing to take,
not right now. No, he had to move!
Immediately Dahau turned away from the town only to gaze upon the white giants that
stood tall at the horizon, his destination. Somewhere hidden in this vast mountain range
was his goal. The golden dragon.

    Several days later
Terra Ignis was a rather diverse landscape, with its valleys that were like a welcome
oasis in an otherwise inhospitable mountains ranges that hardly sustained any life.
Because it was this way, it meant that every valley holds his own distinct flora and fauna.
Creatures and flowers that didn’t exist outside of their own small countries. Sure there
always were overlapping elements, trees and often birds that carried seeds across the
valleys. But a lot of the smaller and more grounded wildlife never set foot outside their
own comfortable environment. Stowed away in one of the smaller valleys was Dahau,
sitting on a fallen tree which over time had withered away for the most part. In front of
him was a makeshift site with a low campfire burning with a dim and ever diminishing
light. Roasting over that fire was a young hare, flayed and disembowelled, its savoury
scent tickled Dahau’s appetite as his meal started to get browner with the minute.
While he stared into the playful flames, he pondered over his next step. This was the
third valley he’d explored by now without even a single sign of the golden dragon, no
instead he only found local woodland critters or the occasional predator that had made a
valley its personal buffet. Clearly, the method of searching every valley wasn’t working,
or at least it wasn’t fast enough. Who knew how many hidden wonders of nature were
spread around Terra Ignis, much was yet undiscovered, in fact, if Dahau would continue
down his current path it could easily take a couple of years before he even found a single
sign of the creature he was hunting. And even if he did it would be by sheer coincidence.
No Dahau needed a different approach. ‘’But what’’ he mumbled to himself ‘‘for some
reason I can’t sense it, a beast of such magnitude and I am not able to feel even the
slightest hint of its presence. Maybe it doesn’t really exist after all?’’
While he tried to consider his other options, Dahau reached out for his meal. He grabbed
the stick and pulled it away from the heat that was scorching the meat. He brought the
hare close to his mouth and waited for a second to before he took a bite. It had a wonderful
aroma, surely it was a bit crude and not so refined as the luxurious meals the guild hall
accommodated him. But he couldn’t deny that right now it smelled delightful. Quickly he
sank his teeth into the meat. Slowly he chewed, tasting the dry texture and wild flavour
that was so distinct from the fattened cattle. And gulped it down with a large sip of
water from a satchel. ‘’Could be worse’’ he stated ‘’At least it doesn’t taste as that
ridiculous flying fish’’ Dahau shivered at the very thought, he tasted a lot of different
cuisine during his lifetime, some good and others downright bad. But nothing compared
to the despicable taste of the Hane-Sakana. Truly it was evil in its own way, yet
sometimes life forces you to do things you normally wouldn’t do. In hindsight though, he
rather starve than eating that fish again.

Obsidian Gold (Job) Empty Re: Obsidian Gold (Job)

Post by Godlike Frederik 22nd May 2018, 4:51 am

Suddenly a rustling sound was all around him, there were people approaching him.
Moving as silently as they could through the thick bushes and hanging branches. Black
silhouettes, vaguely distinct able from the darkness of the forest. However, the dim lit
fire between them quickly dispersed the shroud of mystery. They were fully clothed in
thick black clothes and light leather armour to protect their vital points. Making it for
them easy to move around without making a single sound. Their faces were wrapped in
black cloth as well, with only one peculiar feature. A skull mask.
Without a doubt, you could easily conclude that these men and women were mages from
Dahau’s own guild, Savages. They were however from a different group, these weren’t
the normal soldiers or mages that walked around the dark guildhall. But they were those
that walked in the shadows. Assassin mages, equally deadly with a blade as they are
    with their magic.
It didn’t take a genius to conclude why they were here, obviously, someone from inside
the guild had sent them. Hoping that they would take care of Dahau, so that he or she
could climb higher in the Savage Skull hierarchy. Honestly, Dahau was dumbfounded that
this could even happen! Well sure, these kinds of aggression happened often inside
Savage Skull, climbing higher by either sheer force, blackmail, treachery and even
assassination was only normal for a guild as deranged as his. But the fact that they
would target him of all people!

‘’Dahau of Savage Skull’’ said one of the assassins. ‘’We’ve come to collect your life’’

You could literally feel the blood thirst hanging in the air, as his fellow assassins drew
their blades the moment he spoke. Dahau couldn’t see it, but he was certain each one of
them had a Cheshire smile behind their masks. Their daggers weren’t that big, but the
curved blades suggested that these weapons weren’t made for open warfare but rather
for quickly disposing of an enemy during the night. However Dahau hasn’t even flinched,
instead, he sat silently on the dead tree while prodding the fire with a small twig.
‘’Hah!! Look at him’’ said a woman with a crow-like cackle. ‘’Frozen with fear I see!! I
don’t see why Kassadim had to send so many of us’’
The enemies surrounding Dahau were rather cocky, they outnumbered him ten to one
and they were clearly younger. On all accounts, they considered this a done deal, well
everyone except a single one that stayed a bit behind. She was nervous Dahau could
sense it; she probably realized the dire situation they were in. That in fact, they were the
ones who were heavily outgunned. ‘’Guys’’ she said with a shaking voice ‘I can’t sense
him?! Isn’t he supposed to be powerful, I don’t tru-‘’
‘’Oh shut up!!! This kill is mine!!’’ Impatience and eager to earn some reputation, one of
the assassins dashed towards Dahau. His blade rose high above his head, planning to
take Dahau out with one deadly strike.

The very next moment took every assassin by surprise; right before the killer could
strike Dahau a large black silhouette stormed out of the nearest bushes and grabbed the
attacking assassin with him. As if he was just a simple straw doll. At first, they didn’t
understand what was going, but as they turned towards the large mass they saw a
monstrous appearance. Their colleague hanged by his neck in the clenching maw of one
of Dahau’s personal Garm. Skoll. A giant hyena creature that carried with it the stench of
death. Its eyes sparkled devilish red and from between its teeth black saliva dripped
onto the ground. It easily stood three meters tall and was equally massive in weight. As
it put more pressure on its victim’s flesh you could hear the bones crush until the body
fell down on the ground, with a large gaping hole from his neck all the way down into his
torso. Blood sprayed around drenching the ground beneath their feet with the crimson
liquid of life itself, and the assassins, you could almost taste their fear, knowing that they
just signed their own death warrant.
    ‘’You were saying….’’
Their heads turned towards their target, which slowly raised himself from his seat. His
power slowly met steady getting more noticeable by the second. ‘’I haven’t seen this
level of stupidity in quite some time; you lot really thought you could take care off me?
Your boss has sent you on a suicide mission with the hope that one of you might land a
lucky strike… however, there are no lucky strikes when it comes to fighting me. No, there
is only youR unavoidable demise….’’ Dahau looked around, some of them were trembling,
and others were clenching their grip on the hilt of the blades even tighter. ‘’But’’ he
continued with a smug smirk on his face. ‘’I am impressed with your bravery regardless
of the level of foolishness, so I will make you this once in a lifetime offer. Anyone of you
that manages to stay alive until daybreak gets to continue their miserable existence you
would call a life. However, until then I will hunt you down.’’ This was maybe a little
unfair, but in all honesty, Dahau was a little bit annoyed. He had been searching for some
days know without even finding a single clue to his so-called golden dragon. So he had to
let off a little steam, and hunting always lightened his mood.
‘’You’re insane!!! No way in hell I am going to let you hunt me!! I am going to kill you
right here right now!’’ yelled one of them, but despite the brave words, you could hear
the fear and terror in his voice. Fear, however, forced you to take drastic and often stupid
actions. His words were just like that, nothing more than an empty promise.
Fuelled by fear and distress, the assassin ran towards the apex Savage. His blade raised high above
his head, hoping to land a decisive blow. However, as he was sprinting fanatically to his
targets he suddenly stopped. He hit the breaks so to speak; he even left a short trail
behind him as he stared directly into the barrel of what appeared to be some sort of
artillery device. Seemingly out of nowhere, a part of a large cannon had emerged from a
small rift. And was facing the assassin at point blank range. ‘’You should have listened to
your comrade’’ said Dahau with an ice-cold tone in his voice. ‘’No! Wai-‘’
But it was already to late before the assassin could even finish his final words he got
interrupted by a blinding bright light that turned everything to white and a deafening
sound that resounded through the entire valley. As the light dwindled and the dust
settled every assassin would gaze with horror at what was their former comrade. Or
what has left of him anyway. The cannon had taken out his entire upper body with a
concentrated beam of etherano that travelled even further behind him. Creating a clear
path in the forest straight behind him. What was left standing was nothing more than a
smouldering waist with legs that fell like a soft bundle onto the ground.
Like frightened animals, the assassins instinctively knew what they had to do, run, run
away and fast. They had to flee the scene, Dahau had given them an offer and they
realized if they didn’t take it, they would certainly die. Maybe even more gruesome than
the two others that already perished. It wasn’t a fighting chance, however, more a game
of hide and seek with the very slim possibility of making it out alive. But they would take
it if it meant postponing the inevitable.
Almost simultaneously the assassins dashed away, into the shroud of darkness that the
forest provided. Not that it would keep them safe after all Dahau had with him one of his
own personal Garm. A fierce hell beast that would crash through the trees like a
wrecking ball would pulverize a stonewall. This creature was a hunter, an apex predator,
a living war machine and most importantly endlessly loyal to its master. ‘’Go’’ he said
‘’hunt them down… one by one’’ it was however only one of a pair that had emerged.
Wherever Fenrir was Dahau didn’t know, maybe it was hunting in a nearby valley. Or
maybe it just didn’t feel the need to protect his master with Skoll already being around.
With a growl, the large creature disappeared into the night as well. Charging after his
    victims to be.

Post by Godlike Frederik 22nd May 2018, 4:55 am

The Garm hunted by smell, sight and sound. Or in some cases it just ran around and
would see what would end up in its maw. Dahau on the other hand had a more refined
technique; he had risen above the basic perception of the human world. No, he could
sense his opponents by their magic. Meaning that the stronger they are, the easier they
were to spot. In Dahau’s case even it wasn’t even necessary anymore, he had achieved
such heights that he could basically sense the flow of magic in all living things. Basically
mapping it out and pinpoint them to an exact location. ‘’Well, let’s see who we’ll hunt
first?’’ he said directed to himself. For a moment he stood perfectly still, not a
single muscle moved. And at that moment he let it all come over him, every little being in
the nearby valleys. Every little spike of energy, it engulfed him. At first, it was one large
mass, he even imagined all this energy like a whirlpool that twirled around him. But
soon enough it settled and took shape inside his mind. Every single sign of life took form,
trees sprouted from the ground, and grass and moss would emerge as well. The only
difference was the way it appeared. This wasn’t your emerald green coloured grass or
your large brown trees with colourful leaves. No, this was a world inside his head he could
only sense the magical energy that runs through their veins. To him, it took a rather
transparent shape, with a vague blue that radiated. It was as if you would draw a
detailed tree on a paper and didn’t colour it in. As the valleys took shape, other colours

would pop up. Small and big masses that moved and shined more brightly than the plant
life. They had an orange glow which made them easily distinct able from everything else.
These were the living beings, the small critters, and larger beasts like bears, wolves and
prey like deer. Among them were also the humans, these bipod legged creatures were
easily spotted, even though they shined with the same orange colour they moved very
    differently from the rest.
Right now the image he had in his head was too large; he only needed the valley he was
currently standing in. The assassins wouldn’t be so fast that they already escaped to
another area. Dahau focussed more on his own location, ignoring everything else. And
before he knew his surroundings took a very different but familiar shape. The blue trees
of his own valley surrounding him now, and through it he could see the human-shaped
forms of the assassins. Some were still running, others moved through the trees and a
few were trying to hide in the hope that Dahau and his pet would move past them. It
was, of course, a futile attempt.

Among those he found his first target, two assassins were moving from tree to tree.
Using the branches as their escape route. It was pathetic, they hopped around like
squirrels, making them basically vermin right now. And you know what they say about
vermin, you have to exterminate it.
With a clear goal in mind, Dahau started to walk in their direction, while keeping his
focus on their energy. Like a map, it would lead him straight to them. He didn’t need to
watch his step, carefully scan ahead or take caution with every big tree he walked
passed. As he already knew if there was someone hiding or not. For him, it was just as
carefree as taking a stroll at the park. For him, there was no danger.
Soon enough Dahau reached his targets, who were hiding in the top of a tree. He could
even hear them whisper, cursing the fact that Dahau reached them and wondering if he
knew they were hiding right above him. ‘’Oh I know’’ he stated when hearing their
whispers. Which in return got answered by the rustling sound of leaves and the snapping
of branches breaking off. Being caught they decided they were only left with a single
option, which was to charge straight at Dahau hoping that their higher position would be
the lucky factor in their favour. However, it didn’t give them the winning edge they
hoped for. One planned to land right on top of Dahau, to wrap his legs around him and
stab the powerful dark mage right in his neck. But was stopped in the middle of his
descent, a powerful force had grabbed the assassin and for a moment it was as if the
man was floating in the air. Right before he got thrown around like a ragdoll only to
crash together with his colleague into the nearest tree.
You could actually hear some of their ribs snap and it was more than clear they were
suffering the moment they tried to stand up again. However they never got the chance to
do so, the moment one of the assassins crawled back up, three large cannons appeared.
Roughly the same size as the one before, with only the barrel, really coming through a
a small rift in reality it seems.
