Ah, he shouldn’t let himself miss out on the powers emitting from Mizumi. Despite being a good distance further away from her, he turned his head to react to her gaze. Her eyes shone brightly, each photon emitting from the magic circles declaring the start of a hunt. What was this? It appeared that Mizumi was much more than a promising cook, but a hunter on top of that. Was she, by any chance, blessed by any benevolent hunter figure… like the hunter up in the skies whose belt holds the stars in orbit, Orion himself? The Huntsman of the Gods? Who would’ve known that Mizumi was affiliated with such a legendary existence… she certainly knew herself, didn’t she? If not, then he would be more than happy to elaborate his knowledge about this Orion… but it also left a black spot in his heart, because it reminded him of his own heritage… a heritage revealed in his eye and attunement with flesh and blood, yet unknown and nameless to the masked prince… oh well, Mizumi sure put the ravaging squids in their place as they fled without even attempting to cross her.
There was another group approaching him from the side, and during his analysis of Mizumi’s magic, time had slowed down - it would appear to speed up back to normal when he went to the left and incinerated the enemies with the fire wave that he was riding on. The smell of crisped tendrils and tentacles reached his nostrils, and due to the strong connections between the smaller squids and the boss one that Poko warmed against, he was able to pinpoint its exact location. Perhaps his little trick would save him from having the need to track it down if it decided to teleport - these beings could teleport? That would prove to be a useful spell if it relied on magic power. Some delicious magic to be copied by the copycat of wizardry…!
Where had Poko gone, now? For a moment, he was worried that the squid would target her due to her experience, but upon uninterrupted searching, he managed to spot her at a corner where the squid’s field of vision wouldn’t reach. She sure showed her strengths of support, so he found it his duty to do the offense along with the huntress. His copied spell had ended, sadly, and he felt the foothold of solid kerbstone once more. There was no time wasting, he had to face this monster now! “Avoid tentacles… avoid tentacles,” he repeated to himself a little given Poko’s warning.
When the aero wings appeared on the middle of his back, confidence built up more and more. With these sharp blades that could lift him up in the air, he had another spell in mind that he wanted to try out. Therefore, bravely and almost divinely, he used the wings to dash forward, flying across the roads until he began ascending upwards towards the largest squid in the town. With this speed, I can cut off its tentacles and evade its counterattacks at the same time, he thought cockily as he aimed for the first tentacle that was lifted to be aimed at him. In a swift uprising, the left wing managed to cut off the tentacle, letting it land on the ground as a decapitated limb. Another tentacle was cut off moments after as Yuvon planned to leave it exposed, open, weak to Mizumi’s next spell. However, the squid monster reacted quickly by leaving the position that it was in through teleportation - in that very moment, Yuvon countered immediately! A quick eye and a rapid response, he found himself beside the cruel beast in a matter of nanoseconds - a truly remarkable feat to copy a spell so quickly. Did the monster try to avoid Mizumi and him? He hoped that Poko could keep the wings up for a little longer, if that was the case…
“Mizumi, hurry!” he roared like an old man in his warcry, “The hunt has begun! Claim your trophy..!”
