Enemies: Squids! From outer space! These fearsome creatures want to conquer the city! Or eat its citizens... or something. They don't seem to be able to talk, so they won't really inform anyone of their purpose either. Still, they're attacking the city and you need to stop them! Roll 3 standard dice to determine the number of squids that show up. The first die is the number of squids equal to the rank of the highest ranked person in the thread. Multiply the result of the second die by two to get the number of squids of the rank below that, and multiply the third die result by 3 to get the number of squids 2 ranks lower than the highest ranked person. Finally, after beating all of these squids, the boss monster squid will arrive. He is one rank higher than the highest ranked player (and yes, if the highest ranked person is H rank, that means the big boss squid is X rank).
The squids vary in the types of attacks they will use, but beyond smacking you, grabbing you, and strangling you with tentacles for normal melee damage of their rank, they can fire various space-themed projectiles, ranging from laser and plasma beams to dark matter bombs and neutrino bullets.
The final boss squid will use primarily plasma bolts, but also has space folding-reality warping attacks and teleportation abilities, on top of being giant and dealing double the normal physical damage for someone of his rank armed with a mythical weapon. It is a force to be reckoned with, especially after fighting off so many of the other squids.
Normal squids have only 60% of the HP a mage would have at their rank, while the boss has normal HP for its rank.

Poko had been enjoying her day so far, there was a light breeze in the air that made her blonde locks sway as she strode happily down the road towards a nearby city. She usually avoided these sorts of places, but here she was once again, heading in to a town in order to gather information about possible local hot springs. She had previously attempted to find them herself, but searching alone proved to be no good for the young girl, so she’d decided her best bet would be to ask people she met if they knew of places. She’d had actually started putting together a map and was quite pleased with herself. Meanwhile her companion Zephyr had been gliding peacefully beside her, however, he suddenly froze feeling a strange presence travel through the air, almost magic, but not a mage, it was different. Poko stopped in her tracks turning to face Zephyr, instantly knowing something was wrong. She narrowed her eyes, telling her companion to stay put while she went to find out what it was that had caused his discomfort.
It didn’t take her long, sprinting with the wind beneath her feet to speed herself up, before she knew it she was at the entrance of the city known as Lavanitir Port. It was then she spotted something odd, a squid, flying through the air, this was certainly a first. The sight left her speechless as she stood staring it with wonder. However, it seemed to spot her, and began charging her way, before she knew it there were several more, she counted quickly noticing there were at least 18 of these small squid heading her way. Could this be some sort of spell? Poko wondered, but she had no time to find out, they were heading her way, some of them seemed to stop to prepare themselves for something, soon she found herself under fire as they shot tiny neutrino bullets towards her in staccato. Poko wasted no time summoning a shield of air around herself to defend against them, however it broke as the round of bullets finished. Shit. Poko thought quickly, there was only one way she was going to be able to take out so many at once. The young blonde took in a deep breath, before she began channelling her magic into the air before her, creating a large tornado before sending it in the direction of the group of squids. DIRECT HIT!
Oh wait… The squids were standing just fine, she forgot her tornado was useless against flying enemies. They fired another round of neutrino bullets towards her, she used her arms to try to protect herself from the oncoming wave, but still was hit pretty badly, her arms covered in cuts. Poko grit her teeth, how could she have been so stupid? The cuts weren’t an issue she could already feel her passive healing kicking in as the cuts began to heal up. However, these squid were really getting on her nerves. Poko focused on creating 10 small blades in the air and sent each one to target a different squid, this time the 10 squids that were hit were sent falling to the ground. "Ha." Poko smirked, so they weren’t immune to all air magic after all. She repeated her spell, sending another 10 blades at the remaining small squids hovering in the air and taking them out.
Poko smiled triumphantly, however, her victory was short lived as soon another six squid appeared and these ones seemed slightly different and larger. That wouldn’t be an issue though, she’d deal with these ones the same as before. Unfortunately, before she could cast a spell one of them charged towards her while another fired a plasma beam at her. WHAT THE HELL? Poko leapt away, dodging the plasma beam, but unfortunately the one that had charged at her had now got its slippery little tentacles around her left leg. Ewwww. Poko internally screamed as she used her right leg in a futile attempt to kick it off, it wouldn’t budge. For something so wet and slippery it certainly knew how to stick onto someone. Ugh enough of this. Poko sent a small ball of air at the squid, knocking it off of her and sending her flying in the air away from her previous position. She landed on her feet, slipping a little bit due to her left leg being covered in some sort of slime, but otherwise she was fine. Six enemies, she knew how to deal with these creatures, she summed three small angel-like shapes made of air in front of her and sent them soaring towards the closest three squids, taking them out.
Poko smirked again, this was sort of fun. She looked at the other three, all of which seemed to be charging their lasers to fire upon her, her eyes widened she needed to be faster than them. She needed time before recasting the same spell, this time she used her blinding speed, almost appearing to teleport through the air, as she approached the squids, giving them a large punch. It wasn’t enough to take it out, but it was enough to daze it and slow the charging process. She repeated her dash, punch technique in the air, one squid after the other in quick succession. Soon enough the remaining three squid fell with their brethren on the ground below. Poko slowly floated down, silently landing on the ground. She feared that wasn’t the last of them and ran into the city to see if there were more.
Sure enough there were hundreds of squid in the city, just what exactly was happening here? She looked around; maybe if she could find the source she could stop them all, it would be easier than taking out each squid individually. Her eyes were a fierce red, determined to stop this invasion of sorts. Her eyes locked onto a large target as she made her way near the centre of the city. That must be the boss. However before she could begin to attack it five other large, squid appeared, blocking her path, like bodyguards. Huh, so that must be the leader. If that’s the case, I’m just going to have to take these five out first. These squid would clearly take more than a few punches to beat up, so instead she first focused on summoning the air to condense into a sword, sharp enough to act like steel. Simultaneously she condensed the air near her back to form feather like shapes, giving her wings that shone like rainbows as the sunlight caught in the condensed space. She gave the squid an evil smirk, knowing this would be the end of them as she dashed from one to the other as she had done with the previous squid. Only this time she stabbed and sliced at them with her steel tempest, slicing them up into a million pieces. She watched them fall to the ground, before flicking her red eyes to her main target.
Poko had already eliminated many of his army, but only after taking down their commander would she truly have completed the task at hand. It seemed it wasn’t quite aware of her presence yet and she used this to her advantage, dashing quickly behind it and stabbing it with steel tempest. Upon impact her sword, while cutting the squid dissipated along with her wings, she couldn’t keep them summoned for long anyway. She sighed. This might be a bit more difficult now. How quickly she would find this to be true as now the giant squid was more than aware of her and she was standing within melee range. Before she could react the squid used the closest of its tentacles to whack her, sending her flying and hitting her back into a brick wall. Pain shot through Poko, she clutched her stomach that had taken the full force of the tentacle. It hurt to breathe, but she forced herself to, it would quicken the healing process after all. Each breath was pure agony and she noticed the giant squid preparing to launch its next attack at her, she had to move. It sent a plasma bolt in her direction, she barely managed to dash in time to dodge it, pain soaring through her body as she did. Hold it together, Poko!
She needed a way to beat this monster and fast, she summoned the air around her to heal her current wounds a bit, primarily focusing on her broken ribs. At least she felt a little better now, not completely but she could at least breathe easier. Poko prepared her next attack, she dashed approximately fifteen metres and sent a blast of air towards the target, her signature move after all. However, before it hit, the squid disappeared. What? Before she could comprehend what had happened it appeared behind her and swung a tentacle in her direction. CRAP! Poko barely dashed in time, sending another blast of air in its new location, this time hitting it direction. At least she was faster than it, for now. The Squid sent another of its plasma bolts in her direction, this time Poko was prepared and easily dodged before attacking with Air Blast again. Unlike the last time, the squid also teleported once more, causing Poko to seethe. Why did it have to be so persistent?
Poko had had just about enough of this, she summoned herself her twin air daggers, before dashing straight at the squid careful to dodge its plasma attack as she started slicing away at its body. She repeatedly dashed in the air, slicing with her daggers and she did, causing large cuts all over the enemies body and not enough time to react. It took some time and the squid did attempt to teleport away a couple times but Poko was faster, teleporting along with it and her daggers as she hovered in the air, eventually causing the large creature to fall in defeat. As it fell she sighed in relief as she noticed the rest of the army suddenly fall, she’d been correct in assuming it was the one controlling them all. She let herself fall to the ground slowly, laying down on the stone as she caught her breath. It had been tough, but she’d done it. Poko was unsure how long she’d been laying on the street, but when she opened her eyes she saw two familiar purple orbs staring back into her own calm, blue ones. Poko smiled, petting Zephyr, if he was here all was clear for now. Now, if only I could find out something about those damn hotsprings. Poko thought to herself as she stood up, looking for someone to ask questions, however, she only saw squid lying on the roads; at least the townsfolk would be enjoying calamari for a while.
