(Job)Scare Away those Thugs (Kyll n Erclerps)

Kyll awaited outside of the restaurant. This was going to be her second mission with Reiki. Her first one since she gave up the contacts and switched to the glasses. She smiled so wide. Working with Reiki was a little fun even though the two didn't talk that much. This was going to be very fun. At least this time they wouldn't be bombarded with bears or would they? There are people out there called "bears" too. Kyll pushed back her glasses and pulled on both of her white gloves pulling them so that they are tight around her fingers. She put a hand on her side. Kyll felt a little bit more powerful than she thought but her magic was not meant for indoors. "I hope we're not fighting inside..." Kyll thought aloud. She looked inside.

It was sort of fancy, but it was homely at the same time. The decor to the restaurant did not match her clothing one bit. Kyll wore her Asian influenced outfit of a kimono top and black skin tight boots. She seemed to be the only person around with her hair up in loose pig tails. She wore a pair of matching gloves and boots. They were white with blue jewels in the center. She then looked at the food.

Simple, why would people pay for this food? Kyll was super offended by this. It didn't look appetizing nor did it look healthy. Kyll raised an eyebrow. The thought of a hamburger of fries just ticked her off. All of these greasy foods. It was offensive to her, but a job is a job none the less.

"I wonder when Ice Man will get here." Kyll considered him a friend after one mission. He seemed cool headed and like he could keep a thought on track no mater what. Kyll on the other hand was all over the place and hyper. Reiki seemed like he was older than his age, yet Kyll looked like she was 18. Kyll anticipated Reiki coming up to her with a huge immature entrance to prove her wrong. After all, the two had gone on just one mission together.

Reiki walked the bustling streets of the port town known as Hargeon. There were quite a few things running through his mind as he made his way through the crowds of people. Just recently, he had formed a new team from within Eclipse Soul. The team consisted of his long time friend Aian and one of the more recent additions to the guild known as Alye. Reiki was thinking a lot about the team, more specifically Alye. He felt something towards her that he never felt before. As he felt his mind slipping away whilst thinking about her, Reiki shook his head rapidly. The more he thought about it the more it made his head hurt and would distract him. He decided it was best to keep his mind occupied with other things until he could have some more time to think over what was going on with his mind at a later date.

As he pressed onward through the crowd, Reiki held his palm up in front of him. He stared at it as he continued walking. Day by day, fight after fight, Reiki felt himself growing colder. With every fight that he fought, Reiki felt the chilling strength of his magic returning to him little by little. Yet still, he couldn't remember a thing about the dragon who had raised him. Reiki wanted to know just what kind of dragon raised him. Was it a mother or father to him? Were they a kind dragon or more of a tough love type of dragon? Was Reiki taught differently from his mentor who had taught him his lightning magic and his primary form of fighting; the martial art known as the Silver Wolf style? So many questions that Reiki impatiently wanted answered about his past.


The next thing Reiki knew, he heard a loud thud and found himself flat on his ass. He had incidentally enough walked straight into the wall of the restaurant that was the entire reason he was in Hargeon to begin with. A guild member whom he had only met just recently, Kyll, asked him to take her on a job with him. It was something to do with driving away some thugs who were harassing the restaurant owner for not paying protection money. Reiki sat up, rubbing his head from where it had impacted. Ow.... who put a wall in front of me while I was walking?

Thud! Kyll looked down to see a Reiki hit a wall face first. She bent down and picked up Reiki and smiled happily. Giggling she said, "Looks like you need to stop day dreaming and walking around in a daze." Kyll laughed and walked into the restaurant to speak to the owner.

There he was, the owner. The owner was very short and stocky. He wore a chef's hat on his head. His face was so round he actually looked like the Pilsbury Doughboy. Kyll smelled the air. Grease. It made her a little sick. She put a hand over her nose and looked down at the stocky man. His nose was rather large, like a big grapefruit on his face, and there was a mustache under it too. He looked up at her and spoke, "It's a pleasure to meet you young woman, are you here to get rid of those hooligans?"

"Yes," she said. "Are we doing this outside? What is wrong?"

"I did business with the Big Bears... They were great with protection around my restaurant, so then my business was going under and I had to stop paying them, but they kept coming back."

Kyll nodded. "How will I know they are part of the big bears?"

"Oh... You'll know. I fear more for your partner than I do you Ma'am."

Kyll giggled and looked outside. "Oh he'll be fine, I'm sure of it. So what do you want us to do?"

"Please stand out there and stop them from coming in. Scare them off... anything... Just make sure they don't come in and talk to me." The owner walked away leaving Kyll clueless to the situation. She shrugged and walked back outside.

"Get this...The group we're looking out for is... The Big Bears... I wonder what that means." Kyll said and leaned against the walls. "How do you want to do this? Just try to scare them off?"

Just then a couple of rather hefty and hairy men walked up to the two of them.

One of the guys looked at Reiki and smiled a giant toothy grin. "Excuse me sir... Are you into furries? Because I turn you on."

Kyll looked up at the man that had approached him. "OOOOH BEARS!" Kyll thought aloud.

The other man nodded and laughed a small effeminate giggle. "That's right we're the big and snuggly bears, not the mean and nasty ones."

Kyll laughed and looked at Reiki. I hope he doesn't get too uncomfortable.

'Monster Dice' :

Reiki's mission partner walked out of the restaurant and helped Reiki back onto his feet; offering a bit of advice to him as well. Yeah... Sorry been out of it lately... he responded, as Kyll walked back into the restaurant to meet with their informant. Reiki simply leaned against the outter walls of the building and waited for her to return. His mind returned to his previous thoughts of his dragon and his guild mate. Back and forth his mind went between the two, annoying Reiki that he couldn't even think straight.


Before he knew it, Kyll was back outside with him to explain their situation. "Get this...The group we're looking out for is... The Big Bears... I wonder what that means. How do you want to do this? Just try to scare them off?" Reiki remained silent, trying his hardest to focus on the situation at hand. What the hell did she mean by bears? Were these guys barbarians or something? That's the only thing Reiki could think of. If so, scaring them away would take quite a bit of force. Well... I guess it's probably going to take some force to 'convince' these guys to leave the owner alone... I mean they do call themselves the Big Bears. They're probably a well known gang in this town or something like that. Fighting them probably will be the option we need to turn to.


As soon as Reiki finished explaining his reasoning to Kyll, two fat, hairy men waddled their way over towards the restaurant. One gave Reiki a disturbingly creepy smile before asking him the strangest question he had ever heard. "Excuse me sir... Are you into furries? Because I turn you on." This gave Reiki a completely blank and confused expression on his face. He had no idea what the hell this man had just asked him. Suddenly, Kyll spoke up. "OOOOH BEARS!" This confused Reiki even further. Reiki saw no bears. He saw two fat men without shirts on standing in front of the two mages. There was no way that these could be the bears that the owner was speaking of.


Sadly, this was only the beginning of Reiki's confusion. The other man nodded and laughed a small effeminate giggle. "That's right we're the big and snuggly bears, not the mean and nasty ones." Reiki's expression grew more confused. He had absolutely no idea what was going on. What.... the hell.... is going on... he stuttered, unsure if those were even the correct words he wanted to express in this situation.

Kyll watched what was about to happen and predicted the predicament in her head of what would happen. She then walked up to the big man talking to Reiki and shoved him back. "I'm sorry, he may be a little uh.... shy." The man gave Kyll a glare and sighed. "I promise you, that he's not playing hard to get he's probably never been around 'bears' before. Only bears we've fought are big and grizzly."

The man looked at Reiki then tried to shove Kyll aside. Kyll kept her ground and gave the same look. "Miss Squinty Eyed Mage, you need to get out of my way and stop blocking me." Kyll shook her head as she pushed the big man back again.

"I'm sorry to offend you, but uh...." Kyll looked at the mans hands. Perfect let's change the subject. "Oh my... How DO YOU keep your nails so well groomed?"

The man turned his attention down to his hands and then smiled. "Oh these little things? It's wonders what a nail file can do for you. You should try it, but you've got the cutest gloves over your hands. I find that if you can't keep up with your mannies or pedies, you could always throw on a pair of gloves, now back to that hunk of meat over there," the big man moved next to Reiki and looked him in the eyes. "Hey darlin' you have the prettiest eyes. They just shout something 'fierce' to me."

Kyll turned back around and shoved the man back. "Seriously he's not comfortable around you guys,"

The large hairy beast of a man tried to push Kyll out of the way, but it didn't help because Kyll got back in his way. "Stan, I'm leaving... this girl is just too much of a busybody to hit on him. I'll tell the rest of the guys about the eye candy we got going on here. Ciao!"

Kyll looked at Reiki just a little concerned. "You okay buddy? We still have the other bear here. You wanna take care of him? I wouldn't be so mad if you beat him up. Hey you! Stan right?"

"Yes."

"My friend here thinks that your clothing is mighty tacky, and that you have no sense in style what so ever."

"Excuse me? HE thinks that?"

"Yes.. In fact he thinks your shoes are disgusting.." Kyll looked at Reiki and giggled.

Suddenly a big man was charging after Reiki with his fist pulled back and tears in his eyes.

Reiki simply stood there as Kyll took over the situation. He really had no idea what in the world was going on. Why the hell was this guy trying to get closer to him with such a bizarre smile on his face? Reiki had a gut feeling he didn't want to know the reason. Then the fat guy said one of the weirdest things as he finally got near Reiki. "Hey darlin' you have the prettiest eyes. They just shout something 'fierce' to me."

Before Reiki even had a chance to respond, Kyll pushed the man away from him. [i] What in the hell is WITH these people!?![/color] his mind shouted, as Kyll continued conversing with the two men. Finally one of them said he was leaving, but not without confusing Reiki one last time. "I'll tell the rest of the guys about the eye candy we got going on here. Ciao!" Eye candy? Reiki was hoping with every fiber of his being that they were talking about Kyll. However, his gut feeling was telling him what he feared the most.

Kyll said something to Reiki, though his now feeling of rage boiling up within him was starting to blind him to everything else. He was disgusted now that he was slowly piecing together what the hell just happened. Next thing he knew, the
"bear" that had remained was charging at him furiously. Reiki stomped his right foot forward and dragged it back, pulling back his fist alongside it.

Once the bear neared, Reiki shot his fist forward, aiming to drive it straight into the "bear's" massive gut. Reiki successfully hit the man, sending him driving him back several feet. However, the mass of fat dispersed the damage out in a rippling effect; minimizing the damage received. "Oh myyyyyy. Strong and attractive? You may have insulted my fashion but you just keep getting more attractive by the second!"

Reiki didn't give him a split second to say another word after that. As soon as "second" left the "bear's" mouth, Reiki was right in front of him. He bent his knees and sprung skyward, launching his fist straight into his foes jaw. The force sent the man off the ground and into the sky. Reiki landed and turned towards Kyll as his opponent crashed onto the street on his back. Let's go find these idiots. I'm gonna scare the living shit out of these "bears."

Kyll giggled and walked with Reiki. "You should find it flattering that someone finds you attactive, Reiki," Kyll said with a laugh. This was the only form of romance Kyll did not get a nosebleed to. The romance that will never happen to her. Kyll laughed louder and couldn't hold it in. She was stoked for the rest of this mission. "Bears" are awesome. In fact anyone who is a male that prefers males will make the perfect friend. The perfect snuggle buddy. That is all. She continued to walk down the streets. "Had I known that this mission had these guys, I would've asked you to take me anyway. I mean come on... A job to get closer to climbing up the ranks in this guild AND I get free skin care items? Yes! I'm so coming along." Kyll continued to giggle. "I take you are not into furries... From what he said." Kyll couldn't help but continue to laugh. She needed this moment really. Kyll calmed down and continued to follow her new found friend. "I can't WAIT to meet these brutes. They seem so entertaining. I wonder if they could give me some more color coordinating ideas. Maybe even some make up ideas."

The thought then hit Kyll and she moved her gaze to the side. This was going to be funny. "We never asked where the guys are based. Do you have any idea? I think I miiiiiight." Kyll said pointing to a bar and restaurant. There was a big bear on the sign. The bear wore a pink and white poka-dotted bow and it had a very creepy smile on it. "It says Big Bears Social..." She said reading the fancy lettering. "Let's check it out!"

The two would get to the door and there was a large man with a full beard standing there. "Welcome welcome! Ma'am the cover is 1,000 Jewel!"

Kyll blinked and looked at the man. "Whaaaa?"

The man looked at Reiki. "Oh my! For you it's free to come in! Just leave your girlfriend behind!!"

Kyll's eyes opened very wide. She stood there silent for a minute then splurt! Blood shot out of her nose. "No!!!" She slapped the guy on the back. "That's not my b-b-boyfriend... That's my buddy! In fact he's free! NO LUGGAGE!"

"Gurl!! You are so entertaining! You're telling me he's single?"

Kyll giggled. "Yes!"

The big man then approached him and smiled. "Did it hurt?" The man came closer. "When you fell from heaven?"

Reiki tried his best to wrap his mind around why exactly Kyll was getting excited over this mission. Then again, hairy fat people were flirting with him and not her. That pretty much summed up his own question. As he sighed, he listened to Kyll rant to him about the mission. He ignored the beginning part she mentioned about someone finding him attractive. Reiki could care less, especially if it was the opinion of these absolute creeps that referred to themselves as bears. These people freaked the living daylights out of Reiki. Just the way they talked, moved, and acted around him made his stomach churn. The other fact was that they thought he was interested in them too. At least, that's what he assumed the word "furry" meant. He honestly had never heard that before so he could only assume that it meant an interest in hairy men. This thought made him want to puke as well. That and a burning desire to punch the living crap out of these people.

Reiki sighed as the two continued their way through the towns streets. Out near the edge of town, Kyll sighted a rather rugged looking bar called the Big Bears Social. Thought it was rugged, it was decorated with rather...flamboyant colors. Kyll ran ahead of him, as Reiki regained his blank expression from earlier. What the hell is wrong with these people.... Reiki sighed to himself.

He followed behind Kyll as they were greeted by another large man with a full beard. To Reiki's displeasure, the man immediately began pulling the same crap as the other two tried. "Did it hurt...When you fell from heaven?" Irritated by this, Reiki looked over to Kyll. ....This might just work. If it does, this is going to save a lot of magic power... That and it's probably better than what Kyll has planned for me if I think shes thinking what I think she's thinking....That was a mouthful... Reiki thought to himself, as he smirked slightly evily at Kyll.


I dunno honestly... Reiki said, grabbing Kyll by the arm. WHY DONT YA ASK HER DIRECTLY!? As he shouted this, Reiki threw Kyll as hard as he could towards the man as he proceeded to walk uncomfortably closer to Reiki.
