Masha hesitated at the threshold of the Ace of Spades. Was this really the step she wanted to take? Going from a dark guild to a legal one? Maybe there was a better way to exhibit the change in her ideals. Not they had really changed. She wanted to try out a different way of life. One that didn't require her to be a monster just to survive. Ruvel had done that to her. Masha rubbed the guild symbol on her chest. Would these mages even accept someone from a dark guild? Could they? She wasn't the nicest person and many innocents were dead by her very hand. Something she couldn't say she regretted. Masha looked around at the busy town. For a moment, the red head was tempted to turn around and walk away. She didn't need a family, something to return to when the cold of the world got to be too much. That wasn't necessary for her survival. Yet it might be required for her mental sanity. Every day at Savage Skull, Masha had felt her grasp on her humanity slipping a little further away. Eventually she would have become a monster like those she despised. Hopefully, Sabertooth could halt that descent. And if they couldn't, then they would put her down when the time came.
A deep breath brought the attention of several males to her chest. Masha's outfit was at least a little more modest then she usually wore but at the same time, revealed enough skin to keep the scientists' wretched experiments from activating. Her body trembled as she forced her foot forward. This was the step into the new life she wanted. She couldn't change everything--stupid scientists--but she could at least manage to point her life in the right direction. Perhaps she could even make some friends. She had...well none at this point. Nyx probably hated her. Masha had to stop her slow progress into town to close her eyes against the tears. Could she even make friends? The slightest slip on her part could end disastrously. Try as she might, Masha couldn't stop the tears from falling. She moved out of the way, bent her head and cried for how lost she was in the world. A freak for whom no one could understand. A freak no one ever wanted at their side. A freak who had never really been taught the ways of the world. Her various tattoos began to glow a soft pink as her sorrow seeped with magic.
