- Job Title:
A Strange Occurrence On The Shore
Rank:
D
Player Requirements:
1x Any rank of mage, no limit to how many can participate. 500 words per person. 5 rolls per person involved. Boss counts a 2 strong.
Job Requirements:
Explore the shoreline and find out what is going on.
Job Location:
Any shoreline in Earthland. (Islands, port towns, etc.)
Job Description:
Word of strange occurrences on the shoreline has reached your ears. Any number of people are willing to pay to find out was going on, but just plain curiousity may also be the reason for one to go and find out what is going on.
Enemies:
All enemies appear dead at first, as HUNDREDS of aquatic wildlife are on the shore for some reason. Nothing is wrong with them besides that they are out of the water. Attempts to put them back in the water will result in them beaching themselves again and attacking anyway.
Weak: Dying Fish x5:
A large fish(your choice on what it is) is out of the water, aggressively attacking anything near it out of fear. Takes any 1 hit of damage to kill, due to how weak it is. They deal no damage and are a minor inconvenience.
Normal: Dying Shark x2:
A shark of some kind begins flailing about nearby. They're teeth are a threat, dealing 1.5 D ranks of spell damage if they bite you. They take 3 D ranks of spell damage to take down.
Strong: Whale x1:
A whale has beached itself as well, flailing in the same frustration as the others. A hit from this mighty beast, whether by tail, mouth, or fin, will deal 2 D ranks of spell damage to the poor sap struck. They take a whopping 10 D ranks to put out of their misery. Make sure to push the dead body into the water, else they will explode and cause trouble for those that have to run clean-up of the shoreline!
Reward:
Normal D rank exp
2k jewels to each person involved. (Total jewels from those interested in the information on what was going on.)
Access to part 2 in the job series!

Being a scientist, and just a generally curious person, she couldn't stay away when she heard about this. She seeks knowledge in all fields even outside her own. So she booked an early train, well early for her, to head to the port town of Hargeon. Delta isn't really an expert on animals, they were actually rather new to her, considering she doesn't remember anything prior to being at the lab. But they were interesting creatures, studying them wasn't really her forte, but she was going to make it something that she regularly researched. And this is the perfect thing to get her started, to get her going into this field of knowledge.
The Nov climbed off the train, blocking out all the annoying noises of everyday life with her headphones, listening to no music in particular, just anything and everything. As she stepped out into the streets, she created a hover-board, attached to her feet. It didn't look like she was doing anything when it was materializing, when she was actually planning out the entire structure of it in her head and manipulating the nanites to build it like it was nothing. Pulling her iLac from her pocket she looked at her notes, opening up some new documents for her new research project.
She was glad that she'd found other people that were also interested in this strange occurrence. Not that she wanted to socialize, because she really didn't want to, but she was happy that they were to lazy to study it themselves and were paying people to do it for them. How convenient was that? Well very much so to the teenager that always seemed to be in need of money. So now she would be getting payed for something she wanted to do. Granted it wasn't that much money, but jewels were jewels. There was one downside to this job, much to her dismay there would be others there. Maybe one or two other people that they were also paying to do this. Which was irritating, she was all they needed, but apparently they didn't think so. She just hoped they'd keep to themselves and not be social.
Upon arriving she dissolved the board and looked at the beach in awe. It was absolutely fascinating, such an odd situation. Why were so many sea creatures beached here when they could very easily go back into the water? I suppose that's what she was here to answer. From her pocket she pulled out some gloves, just some simple clear rubber gloves that you can buy at the dollar store. In one of her hands she held her iLac, then she walked onto the beach. Walking right up to one of decently sized fish that was freaking the hell out, she simply grabbed it's tail.
With her iLac, this of which she tricked out with her own little upgrades, scanned the fish. "Clupea harengus, I see, pretty big for one" she spoke to herself, pocketing her phone she summoned her knife, and without stabbing it she simply tasered it. Which was enough to end it's life. Sheathing the knife, she pocketed the handle, and with the same hand she zipped open a bag she held on her back. A cooler backpack she filled a bit with ice, allowing her to take back some fish like this herring, and dissect them without them being rotten when she got home. She did the same thing to four other fish, all different species, before she spotted someone else. A little girl, or so it appeared to be, probably another person studying this odd occurrence. Delta hoped ignoring her would make her go away.

At the beach there was many and i mean many fish, which in this city wouldnt be different since it was Hargeons beach, fishermen and sports fishers come here all the time to trade spot infos and catches for Jewels and even compete in big sea fishing but today it was different many people came there to now study this phenomena that was happening before peoples eyes. Many different types of fishes were jumping and staying out of the water which was bad since if you tried to put them back in they would just lunge and beach themselves again on purpose.
Shizuka ha been there early in fact she was there before many of the scientists as she watched the phenomena unfold a few hours ago as she watched with some of the stray animals, even a few snakes that were attracted to her due to her magic and abilities. When it had began she was quite curious really, what was doing this, was it logical or was it magical causing the fish and not only the fish there looked to be bigger fish like sharks and even a whale on the beach that was quite a shocker right there really when she had saw that whale beached. by now, which was hours later after the phenomena Shizuka was scouring the beach with her glaive in hand, she was watching some of the fish struggle to stay alive and out of the mercy of her good nature, she would try and throw some water on the fish, of course the one that were small, she felt bad for them but of course some of the fish were bigger like a barracuda or two would try snapping at her so of course she would have to stop them so she would stab those more harmful with her glaive ending their lives.
After a few more minutes walking she would see a scientist with an Ilac and an ice cooler. She tilted her head as she watched as they actually well tasered a fish with a knife, it was a quick way of killing the herring but they usually are docile mainly as a game and commercial fish. This was a bit different so she went over to approach the scientist "Excuse me? wouldnt it be bad electrocuting the fishes?? couldnt you get hurt she asked blinking" she soon knelt down beside the scientist and seen the other fish there gasping for air but out of fear and not casualness, before she looked back up at the scientist and then said "im shizuka, who are you scientist lady?? and do you know whats happening to the fish?? she slightly tilted her head more to Delta as she didnt know her name so until then she would be Scientist lady to her which isnt bad really if you think about it, she was looking like a scientist and out of everyone she was the only one that Shizuka was even remotely asking or even talking to besides the few snakes slithering around the beach.
