The first light of the sun shone through the leaves of the forest, lighting up the scenery in a spectacular fashion and falling onto Poko’s sleeping face. Poko's blue eyes fluttered open as she yawned and rubbed them gently with her right hand, still curled up around her pet Zephyr who was beginning to stir due to Poko's movement. The blonde maiden stretched out from her ball and sat up from inside her large make-shift nest, made from twigs and leaves, that sat a few meters above the ground on a large branch. She smiled down at her familiar as he attempted to curl back up, making her giggle.
"Come on Zeph, it's time to wake up!" She exclaimed, her eyes turning yellow, happy to be out in the forest, away from people, where she felt most comfortable. Zephyr ignored the girl and stayed put and Poko rolled her eyes as they flashed a deep crimson for a split second, a wicked grin appearing on her face. She leapt gracefully from the nest, landing on the branch she had built it on and grabbed the edge of the small blanket that she had used to line the nest with and yanked it roughly, causing Zephyr to roll off of it and into the twigs on the nest. He stared at her with contempt while he stretched out his limbs like a cat before leaping up and floating onto her shoulder, Poko merely laughed at her companion before turning her attention to the nest, eyes flickering back to their usual calm, ocean blue.
Poko sighed softly before using her wind magic to disperse the twigs and leaves she had put together the night before, leaving them back on the ground where they had come from. Poko always ensured everything in the forests she stayed in remained similar to as it had been before she had wandered through. She disliked disturbing nature more than she had to. After completing the task and feeling satisfied things were close enough as they should be, she rummaged through her satchel, she needed to get a few supplies, the forest only offered so much and her current clothes were pretty tattered and worn out.
She looked down at herself, trying to decide what was most urgent, she could only afford so much. Her blue hair ribbons would be fine, she thought to herself as she put up her half pigtails, her hair somewhat tangled, but she would be needing a new brush as the last one finally snapped a few days prior. Her maroon, hooded sweater was still doing okay, she decided as she pulled it over her pink tattered shirt, that would indeed need replacing. Zephyr quickly moving out of the way so as not to get caught in underneath. Poko looked over her black, denim shorts, they seemed to be fine as did her white, knee-length socks and black shoes, although she could probably do with a wash as well. Perhaps she would have to pay for a hot bath at a local inn if she could find one.
'So shirt and brush this time,' Poko thought to herself as she placed the rest of her very few belongings into her brown messenger bag, 'and also a bath if possible' she nodded to herself. Poko picked up her bag and slung it over her shoulder before walking towards the direction she was fairly certain the town was in while Zephyr bounded happily through the air beside her. Her eyes now dancing a similar purple colour to his in excitement of a new day.
