The spooky forest. Again. Sighing deeply, Rin clutched onto Lily, her bunny-cat companion, as she walked towards the dreary place. Why is it that she always found herself going to creepy woods for jobs? There were plenty of beautiful and exotic places in the world, but nooo, she was always finding herself in the dark, cold, and often stinky forests. Pulling out her iLac, the pink haired girl searched around for the job information she was given. A lost puppy, huh? Why would a cute little animal run away to an awful place like this? "Hey, Lily. If we find the puppy can we keep it?" Rin snickered, looking at her pet with amusement in her eyes. Releasing herself from her human friend's grip, Lily floated in front of her, causing Rin to stop in her tracks. "Why? Thinking of replacing me?" Lily teased, a toothy smirk cracking across her cute little face. "Never! You're the only annoying pet I can handle!" Grabbing her pet once more, Rin ruffled the fur on her head, laughing joyfully.
Noticing that they had reached the entrance to the deeper part of the forest, the two partners stopped, sitting in the grass. There was supposedly another mage that would be joining them on their mission, but neither of them knew who it was. The council always had surprises in store for the young mage, but she always just rolled with the punches. Sighing deeply, she laid on her back, looking up at the canopy of leaves that hung above them. "I wonder what this person is going to be like. I hope they're nice. OOH! And I hope they have a pet, too! Maybe they'll let me hold it! AH!" She squealed, getting a bit too excited over the idea of a new friend. "Dear, you need to calm down! You might attract something to us... It wouldn't be good if we were ambushed when we leas-"
A rustle in the bushes. The noises startled both of the girls. Standing up quickly, Rin grabbed her tablet, ready to defend herself if need be. She could make out 2 shadows, one larger one and a smaller one right beside it. There were two possibilities. 1, it was the mysterious mage that was here to help her, or 2, it was one of the vulcans that resided in this forest, and was here to rip her face off. Taking a tentative step forwards, Rin spoke up, prepared for either situation. "Who's there?"
