The Watering Hole ( Neko & Leonard)

Neko had herd a job about a tavern who's beer was being stolen. He figured it seemed easy enough. Beat some bad guys, protect the beer, and gain jewels. All while making his to B-Rank. Neko was determined to make S rank and become one of Fairy Tail's strongest. He felt so weak when a guy from the MC completely destroyed the guild hall and almost killed everyone. Ever sense that day he made a vow to make sure the next time around no one was gonna harm anyone in fairy tail. Neko shook off the thought of all that pain and hurt. He had a job to do and he wanted to get it done right. Finally after a while of walking he reached the tavern. Are you the mages that fairy tail sent? Neko took a deep breath.
Yes Im Neko Silver. The other mage should be arriving here shortly if he's not here already. Alright well come in come in hurry before they see you. The tavern keep glanced around nervously as he hurried Neko inside the Tavern. Dont worry I assure you that I can get the job done. Me and my partner where some of fairy tail's best wizards. The tavern keeper made a grunting noise at Neko's response. That's what some of the other guilds said before I shooed them away after they almost lost all the beer. Neko felt a sour taste in his mouth. He wasnt so sure if he like the guy saying the thing's he did. Neko was 100 % sure he and Leonard would get the job done. After all he was a fairy tail member and he didnt stop until the job was done! Plus it did help when your Partner is the Guild Master of the strongest guild. Neko pulled up a chair and began to tap his finger's on one of the bar tables as he waited for Leonard to get there.

It was another day for an adventure for Leonard as he was walking towards the tavern they were supposed to go to. Unfortunately, he was lost and didn't know where to go. He was about to loose his temper but he kept on remembering why he was there adn it made him cool off. He asked the way from a couple of guys. But the first three people he asked for pointed him at the wrong direction. Finally he met a street merchant on a wide trade alley which pointed him to the right direction. And after that long time of asking directions and getting lost, he was finally in the right direction. Sheesh, the things I do for these kids. I don't even know why I agreed. Well I didn't know it was this far so maybe it was my fault. he thought to himself. Then while walking, he smiled as he seemed to remember what got him here in the first place. Leonard had a flashback of the other day, sitting normally in the bar overlooking the hall making sure nobody makes too much of a mess than they normally do. Until Neko came with a job asking Leonard to go with him on it. Leonard remembered those looks in his eyes, the same kind that he had when was testing Neko's resolve. Surely, Neko wanted to be stronger, and Leonard was delighted to help his family on that as always. The flashback ended and he arrived finally at the tavern. Leonard took a deep sigh of relief as he stretched out his arms and scratched the back of his head, after that long travel, he was there.

He knocked on the door and a man greeted him "Oh you must be the other guy. Your partner's here waiting for you, get inside quickly." he said and he was rather grumpy about it. Leonard grunted and made his way inside and saw Neko sitting on a chair with his hands on the table. He patted him on his shoulder and sat in front of him "Sorry I'm late

Neko sat there bored moaning and groaning. He was waiting on Leonard and there wernt even people to fight. It made him very agitated. Neko didn't like sitting still. This was one of his problems when Nyx had first taught him Night magic. Before he could learn any type of spell she wanted him to be patient and build his power. At first he had it easy but after a point on concentration he began to get irritated. It had taken more then he had thought but eventually he'd gotten past that barrier. He could almost hear the words that the Night Goddess had said to him as replayed through his old memory. Neko was pulled out of his little blank state when Leo patted his shoulder. Neko shook off the daze and looked at him as he sat down. Sorry im late. Neko gave off a faint smile. It's alright Leo I kinda got distracted me self haha.... I'll be back im gonna go see what where really up against and where we can start. Don't wanna make the wrong mistake do we?Neko got up and went to find the tavern keeper.

Five minutes later Neko returned with a blue paper and two huge glasses of beer.Neko un rolled the paper to reveal a blue print of the tavern. The he set one glass in front of Leo and one in front him as he sat down. The Keeper said these are for us and there on the house. Neko took a gulp of his then set the glass down and stared at Leo. He said that they already made there run for the beer today. During the day they come about Noon and at night the come around about 3. This gives us some time to plan set traps do whatever we need etc. The beer is stored here * He pointed to the back of the tavern on the blueprint* I was thinking we could take shift's watching the barrel. Do you have any other ideas or would u like to do it that way?

It's alright Leo I kinda got distracted me self haha.... I'll be back im gonna go see what where really up against and where we can start. Don't wanna make the wrong mistake do we? These where the first words that came from Neko. Though he could see he was so bored on waiting and he felt he should apologize. Though with those words, Leonard simply smiled back and sat on the chair and waited for Neko to come back. So he sat there waiting, looking around. It seemed like a nice place in fact, it doesn't look like it's out of beer all the time. He even caught a glimpse of people he kept on eyeballing Leonard. He looked back at them too in a way they wouldn't think he was looking back. They had some bad intent in their eyes and Leonard took it upon himself to remember their faces. When Neko came back, he had glasses of beer with him. Which kinda made nervous, he didn't want him or Neko to pay for anything in this trip. He finally took a sigh of relief when he found out it was on the house. They had the blue prints of the place in front of them and was told about the info on when the degenerates strike. Neko had suggestions to guard the barrels in turn. But seeing as the cellar's out back and kinda looks to be in open space however there were complications in, so he thought it would be best to check it out. Rubbing his chin, he gave it deep though "Hm... those are good ideas Neko. But have you checked the whole place yet? Seeing blueprints is one thing, but we got to really check the whole place out inside an out. he said. And with those words, he picked up the glass and gulped up its content all at once and approached the guy in charge of the place. "Hey can we check the place out? I mean from the outside and then the inside if that's okay with you." he asked. "Well I can let you check the inside but not the outside the guys might just be out there and I don't want them to know that I hired mages to protect my merch." the man replied. Leonard nodded in reply and took a look at the guys from earlier. Apparently they were still looking and took a drink and then went out. Leonard's gaze followed them out observing the men completely.

Hm... those are good ideas Neko. But have you checked the whole place yet? Seeing blueprints is one thing, but we got to really check the whole place out inside an out. Neko watched as Leonard swallowed it in one down then got up. Neko thought about what he said. It was true at what he said. It was better for them to have a visual of the place then to look at some silly blue prints. Neko got up next to leaonard as he asked the tavern keeper about it. Well I can let you check the inside but not the outside the guys might just be out there and I don't want them to know that I hired mages to protect my merch." Neko smiled at the Tavern keeper then at Leonard. Alright we will get right on it. Neko pulled Leo to the side. Alright because there are two floor I vote you take the top one and I'll cover the ground floor. Now we have some time before the strike again and when that happens I don't want anyone staying here to be hurt so if there are people in the rooms do you think you could manage to get them out? Also id try and figure out a way to get the Tavern Keeper to a safe place. Those goons are gonna try and go for him when they find out that he hired us so I think is top prioritie next to the beer it self. I'll inspect this floor and make sure I find any and all ways of getting into the store room.

Neko was a bit frantic about the situation. This was a very serious mission and he didn't wanna blow it so he was being very cautious about it. Though he hoped that he was doing the right things in making sure everyone was safe along with the beer. He stopped all of his thinking and stressing and took a deep breath " Relax you got this in the bag you can do this" he wondered how long his pep talk and fool plan would last before something came up and bit his ass.

Neko listened to the bartender as well and gave ample thought to his words. Neko's observation skills were quite impressive, no less than expected of him. The man had always been the type to observe his surrounding before he made a decision. Alright we will get right on it. Neko pulled Leo to the side. I know it's your first but you have to relax ok?" he said to Neko as Leonard took a couple of sips from his drink "So calm your mind and let's set things straight. We have a little certainty that the guys could be watching from the outside, but let's say that were true. So, if we were to send a lot of guys out of this place they'll know somethings up." he said and he raised his hand up slightly with open hands when he said "they'll know somethings up.". "So..." he added but paused to put his hands down and lean in a little closer to Neko watching him in anticipation as waited for Neko's decision. "...what's the best thing we ought to do now?" he continued.

Neko Was getting read to go off and look around when he was grabbed by Leo "Neko, I can see that you're getting really tense about this and that isn't good. Neko stoped mid sentence and laughed. He'd rather not make Leo angry. After all he was nice enough to do a mission. Suddenly an idea popped into neko's head. He grabbed the blueprints and found what he was looking for. Leo we can just put them in the old cellar room. I looked at there is an empty cellar room where he use to store the bear. He had to empty it out for something I guess the thief's trying steal it. We can put them all in there for now then have people casually leave so that way it doesnt raise suspicion as to why so many people are leaving. Then when they get here we beat the holy hell out of them finish the job and then where done!Neko's violet eye's lit up with sparks. He was happy that he had planned the whole thing out. He liked having a plan so that way he knew when to do something and when not to. Hopefully this would be the perfect solution to all of there current issues with these guy's.

Silence was about the two as Neko thought of what Leonard said. Leonard sat back and waited for Neko's answer. He knew it might take awhile, Leonard did say a lot of things to him. Finally, his thinking was over and Neko laughed and said Really Leo "I know its ur first but you gotta relax."??? I get what ur saying and all but you kinda sounded like my first boyfriend and I when we... that kinda surprised him. Why would a boy have a boyfriend? He really didn't know much about Neko to know why so he wondered "He had a boyfriend?" he muttered to himself. Although this laughing of Neko made Leonard think he hadn't thought of an idea yet and that was disappointing. I mean they have been sitting for a long time and most of the people around them going to their respective rented rooms upstairs. Though amidst Neko's laughing he had an idea in mind and it involved the blueprints. "Leo we can just put them in the old cellar room. Though Leonard liked the idea that they won't manipulate the time when people will leave so as not to raise suspicion but to put in the old cellar room and wait for it to be stolen? That sounded wrong. The bartender did made mention earlier that many have failed in this job. So it got Leonard thinking, maybe their not dealing with an ordinary theif. Leonard rubbed his chin as he looked at the blueprints "Hm... Well I like the idea of what we're going to the people to avoid civilian injury. But I don't feel good about putting it in the old cellar room and wait. The bartender said many failed in this job right? We better put that into consideration too. The last time, the beer was also stolen in the same cellar so that means the thief doesn't know it's been moved yet. And about the thief, he's got us pegged good and I think he ain't no ordinary thief. This might be a whole organization of thieves who can use magic." he said to Neko and after which he stood up turned around and starred blankly at the door with his arms crossed. "We might be up against people who can use a variety of either Dark or Void magic." he said

Neko sat there and thought about what Leonard had to said. He had a good point. The cellar could be the first place the bandit's go and putting people there would be a bad idea. "We might be up against people who can use a variety of either Dark or Void magic." Neko sat there and looked at Leonard with a stern look. Leo as far as I go I dont care. It is our duty as members of fairy tail to not only keep family and innocents save... but to bring them down. A silver flame sparked flamed at his finger tip's. This is what we will do. We will tell the people staying here that tonight the Tavern is to be emptied for renovation. Im sure that the tavern will need it when where done here to. They wont leave without a fight and I plan to take them in for the MC. Plus where Fairy Tail we destroy things just as much as we eat. So not only are we doing a job but getting the MC of FT's back for a bit. Maybe they will even give you less paper work after this. Neko let out a laugh as he put his hand behind his head. He knew that leonard got a lot of shit for fairy tail always distroying stuff. He wanted to help out Leo seeing as he did go on a job with him. Haha and who knows maybe finally I'll get a boyfriend after this. The MC will be happy maybe i'll become famous.Neko let out a laugh as he looked at his drink with a dazed look. Ha! Gay guy famous yes right. Neko shook his head and snapped out of his daze then looked at Leo. I'll tell a few people to leave now. But I wont send them all at once. Dont wanna raise suspicion do I? Neko smiled at Leo before he got up and started to walk to the stairs.

Neko listened to what Leonard had to say and he could see from his face that he agrees. Though the part where he said about the guys they're dealing with having those two kinds of magic made him angry a little from what he could see. Though he could be feeling something else, he wasn't Neko to know. Neko blazed about it and said their new plan that keeps getting better and better. Leonard liked how Neko improves on how things must be handled in order not get anything too messy and get distracted on what they really needed to do on this job which was to protect the beer barrels. His new plan involved being silent and discretion. A slightly different take from the most plan others use. The usual head-on charge that destroys stuff. That kind of plan slightly made the guild pop up on the Magic Council's radar and gave him a lot explaining to do and some help in anyway he could give. The work on it was tiring and it was really nice he wouldn't have to worry about that kind of thing in this job. But who knows? Maybe they would have to change their plans and destroy things in the end. So Leonard must really be ready for all that work from the Magic Council after this job. Those thoughts all bothered Leonard and only gave Neko a smile in reply after his statement. Though Leonard did tilt his head slightly on the right as he wondered how would he get a boyfriend after this, and why a boyfriend? "No offense Neko but I don't think that will happen. Especially the get famous part. They really don't care how much jobs you do it and how you do it. But who knows? I may be wrong." he said to him in reply. But his answer as to why he wanted a boyfriend was answered, Neko was gay. Now that something he wan't expecting at all, but hey, he doesn't judge. But he had to admit, he was pretty shocked, but didn't let it show, just had his eyes widened for a moment. But whatever the gender, Fairy Tail is still Fairy Tail. Neko now made his move on rounding up the people inside and even made a comment about it. Which made Leonard snicker. "Sounds good, I'll stay down here for a while." he said to him happily as he continued to drink from his glass.

Neko had walked about half way up the stair's when he herd Leo call out to him. "No offense Neko but I don't think that will happen. Especially the get famous part. They really don't care how much jobs you do it and how you do it. But who knows? I may be wrong."Neko just laughed at him and continued walking up the stairs. Dont worry Leo I know. It's just a silly little hope of mine. To be a face of Fairy Tail....just.... just like Heero. Neko got to the top of the stair's then turned back to Leonard. But make no mistake Leo. One day even if I dont have fame I will have power. And those who think they can pick on Fairy Tail..... well they will have another thing coming. The next time I will be ready. Neko clenched his fist and extinguished a silver flame that started to burn. Neko let out a sigh smiled at Leo then turned to the first room's and knocked on them. The first door was answered by a woman. Yes is something wrong? Neko gave her a bright smile. Im sorry for the inconvenience. We have to ask that you gather your things and relocate to a new tavern. We are having issue's with some of the frame work rotting. So for health and safety issues you have to leave. The woman starred at him for a moment then shook her head. Alright I'll be gone soon. Neko smiled at her again. Thank you so much and again where sorry for the troubles. With that the woman shut the door and neko went to two more room's before going back to sit down. That's three of the guest's out of harm's way. Only have three or four more guest's then we are all clear. Neko downed the last little bit of his drink. Neko giggled slightly buzzed. Ok no more for me. I think i'll just get water now. Hey Leo you mind getting the last few?? Neko stood up and grabbed both of there cup's and walked to the bar. Neko filled his with water and Leo's with more beer. Neko returned sat them on the table. Neko took small sip's of his drink staring off into space not paying attention. Neko felt so crazy some time's. He was always ether being pushed around or made fun of. He was ether gay or to weak. He was determined to change what people thought and said about him. He would show them that Night Magic was not to be joked about. Everyone made the mistake's of thinking he was nothing. Well Neko's plan would soon go into action. Thing's where getting hot for all of the mage's and there guilds and neko didn't want an apocalypse. Neko shook his head to rid himself of the thought's. Think about it later Neko. Right now u need to focus on the task at hand like nyx taught you. Neko took another sip and rubbed his face and sighed.

Neko just laughed at what Leonard said. Maybe he wasn't setting his hopes too high for it which means he isn't serious? Or maybe there's only the slightest, smallest chance that will happen. Like it would happen when the day comes that hell freezes over. Leonard had the trait of being narrow-minded in non-combat situations so he really couldn't guess what that really meant. Until Neko said something, he said Don't worry Leo I know. It's just a silly little hope of mine. To be a face of Fairy Tail....just.... just like Heero.. This made Leonard giggle, everyone's the face of Fairy Tail one way or another. However, he continued to speak and said But make no mistake Leo. One day even if I don't have fame I will have power. And those who think they can pick on Fairy Tail..... well they will have another thing coming. The next time I will be ready. well that sure makes him a lot happier. The resolve he had shown, the goal he wants to achieve. All those things he had to see from him during the time of his exam, it was still all there. And it would seem that every time he talks about, he gets fired up, literally. Anyway, he turned around and started to vacate the rooms upstairs. Leonard followed him upstairs and heard his explanation. He had to listen closely to it, otherwise how would he explain why they need to go. And all his listening wasn't for nothing, Neko finally asked him if he could take care of the remaining rooms. He emptied them up being all courteous. Though there were problems along the way. Like these old couple who has no more jewels to check-in at another tavern. Leonard on the other hand gave them all the jewels they need for it. Finally they were done and from the second floor, Leonard caught glimpse of a mind-wondering Neko, he wondered what could it be this time, but Leonard gave him the time to think. Until he uttered words, no doubt he was thinking about proving himself again. "Finished thinking about yourself, Neko?" he said from the second floor.

Neko had his face in his hand's when Leonard called to him from the second floor of the tavern. Finished thinking about yourself, Neko?" Neko looked up a little disappointed. He wasn't thinking about him but he decide'd to forget about it. Leo would know of his plan soon yes but not quite yet. He was still perfecting it. He wanted to make sure he had everything figured out and that there where close to no flaws at all in it. You know it's not quite nice to spy on people. Sometime's they just need a little space to think ok? I wanna make sure everything goes smoothly. I dont want something unexpected to happen. After all it's not very often I go on mission's with someone of your power. I wanna empress you ok? You and Heero are my role model's and one day I wanna prove that im just as good as ether of you ok? Neko made his way up the stair's to where Leonard was standing. Neko watched Leo. He was sure Leo was suspicious about him and his plan. He just hoped not saying anything to him. Neko just hoped he moved quick enough with his plan. Neko let pout his breath as he reached Leo. Neko took a swig from his drink. He brought it with him. He looked out over the empty tavern except the keeper at the bar. He seemed to be dozing off a bit and Neko giggled. "Sleeping on the job huh? No wonder he's having issue's" Neko though to him self. Just as Neko opened his mouth to talk with Leonard the grandfather clock in the corner next to the bar sounded. It sounded twelve time's. Well Leo it's midnight. Almost time for those dark mages to show up. You think we can take them all? Neko asked Leo a bit worried. He forgot for a moment that Leo was the guild master. He was only a C-Rank mage and he had no idea what these guys could do. Neko wasn't sure he could fight them Then he looked over and Leo and Sighed. He was the guild master there would be no though fight. Wait what am I saying? You the guild master. Plus im the Night Mage! We are fairy tail... This job wont be any hard at all. Neko laughed reassuring him self. He knew that they would be able to do it. Neko was just a bit nerves about the mission. He calmed down a bit and focused on the tavern.

It would seem that his assumption of what Neko was doing was wrong. Neko looked up to Leonard and looked rather disappointed at him "You know it's not quite nice to spy on people. Sometime's they just need a little space to think ok? I wanna make sure everything goes smoothly. I dont want something unexpected to happen. After all it's not very often I go on mission's with someone of your power. I wanna empress you ok? You and Heero are my role model's and one day I wanna prove that im just as good as ether of you ok?". Neko was serious about all these things Leonard was really glad beyond, well, beyond anything to have met a person like Neko. Neko came up to him and overlooked the empty place with him. And commented about the keeper. "Let's cut him some slack. Watching over a place like this is 24/7 is no easy job. The same way keeping you guys from making a lot of mess is hard." he replied. Moments passed and a few drinking, the clock finally struck 12. Neko for a moment there sounded worried but quickly retracted them saying that Leonard was the master. A manly giggle was Leonard's reply to him as he raised his glass and finished it with one sip, throwing it to the side and dropping down to the first floor on his feet. He drew a couple of blades out and made them float around him and got ready for any attack. "Well, we better get your plan moving." He grabbed one and moved to where the barrels will be. So far it was dark and quiet. Perfect set up for some attack. He took the Paladenium, which was floating around him and shed light. This way, those mages won't be able to hide from me in the dark. he thought as he looked around and waited for more information from Neko. Though foot steps can be heard around him and and Leonard quickly looked to that direction where the sounds were coming from. All that was there was rats. It would seem that the place was abundant with these little rodents. Leonard sent a sword flying towards one and sliced it in half. The sight made the rest flee in fear that they may be his next target. However, with the rats gone, the place was still creepy as hell and a perfect scenario when one will jump on you. Cautious of this unknown enemy, Leonard used a guarding stance as he looked around for possible areas for a surprise attack.
