Personality: Jin is rather lazy, he would rather sleep than actually do any kind of work. He is sarcastic most of the time and usually very mocking towards people with his mocking politeness, Jin is quick to analyze any situation and is quick to find a way to overcome it rather easily as well as being able to keep calm under extreme pressure.
He is able to tolerate most things despite being cynical and dark towards them, such as loud people or naturally disruptive people but he would come off as severely sarcastic towards them in general.
Jin can be quite stubborn when he wants to be and rarely anything can change his mind once he has set him himself for something. Jin prefers quite as he is rather silent in everything he does due to him learning how to steal just about anything from his time on the streets. Jin's past as an orphan has shaped him in many different ways and has made him the person he is today. Due to his past as an orphan and the fact that he was always sent back to the orphanage by the family he had thought would finally take him in as one of their own. After being sent back to the orphanage for the third time, he had become disillusioned with the prospect of ever leaving the orphanage before the age of eighteen and by then he had become highly sarcastic as well as cynical towards the matrons and other kids at the orphanage who had hopes of leaving the orphanage with a kind family.
Because Jin had run away from the orphanage at fifteen, he had to survive on the cold streets of Fiore and this predicament had lead to another change or adaptation to Jin's personality. In order to live on the streets and survive, Jin had to be able to figure out foe from a friend when approached by other homeless around him in order to tell if they meant him harm or not. This lead to him having to learn how to read a person's intention with body language alone which proved to be a hard task as he had been fooled before by a homeless man who had robbed him as he slept, this experience made him even more cynical towards people in general and had made him more closed off in general.
In battle Jin is described as a right b*stard by numerous foes and allies alike, he himself just thinks of himself as someone who dislikes losing and will do anything to ensure a win. Jin will and surely will try to aim for his opponent's weak points at any given chance during a fight and would definitely cheat, even if he was capable of winning in a fair fight. This fighting style is a byproduct of his life on the streets as he had to fight any way he could in order to survive anyone who would attack him while he was doing shady jobs to make a living, were one mistake would result in a blade slipped through your ribs, he had to make sure he had the upper hand at all times and if he was to poke someone's eye or attack their groin to do that. Jin was happy to sacrifice his honor.
Likes: Darkness: Jin loves the dark as thieves like him thrive in the dark when everyone is unaware of people like him and are easy pickings, he also enjoys the dark because that when people are less likely to disturb him while he is sleeping or star gazing.
Sleep: Jin loves sleeping cause he is lazy pure and simple, and sleeping lets him get away with not doing anything at all.
Stargazing: Jin loves star gazing just for the fact that stars look beautiful to him, and the thought of something looking so beautiful and shining so bright even surrounded by such darkness appeals to him because of the life he lived as a criminal and because he also envies some of the naive members of the guild. He knows he can't see the world in purely black and white anymore cause he knows it's just shades of grey some darker than others.
Dislikes:
Being Disturbed: Jin hates being disturbed when doing anything because if he is doing something which is rarely, that meant he deemed it important enough for him to do instead of lazing about.
Stupid People: People with less than average intelligence annoy Jin because they are the type of people who get their friends hurt for rushing into situations and not thinking things through.
Getting caught: Jin hates getting caught either off guard when fighting or while stealing something. The reason he hates it is because he is normally always cautious because of his life on the streets and is rarely caught off guard when training with Dan.
Motivations: Money is one of Jin's because in order to earn more money he has to become a higher rank to do higher paid missions which in turn means he has to become strong enough to do those missions easily. To achieve this he has to become one of the strongest in the guild to earn enough money that it would be incredibly hard for him to become poor.
Friends is another one because as a kid Jin didn't have too many friends as most would have stabbed him in the back to either steal his food or money. But after joining Fairy Tail they accepted him with open arms even after learning of what he had done before joining them, this made them be one of his most cherished things and he would kill to protect them even if it meant being expelled from the guild.
Power is another source of motivation for Jin because without power he wouldn't be able to protect what he holds dear, and that would eat him up inside to the point of depression. Without power, Jin would be forced to watch from the sidelines when his friends are in danger.
Fears: Jin is scary afraid of dying, mainly because he doesn't know what will become of him when he leaves this world. He isn't religious but the orphanage he stayed at as a kid was rather religious and their stories left an imprint on him as he broke more than one commandment according to the matron.
Jin is afraid of being poor again as he had to scrape through life on the streets stealing to get food and money to survive and he doesn't want to experience that type of life again.
