Thirteen years ago, an earthquake shook the tiny island cluster known as the Cranberry Isles. It unearthed something ancient from the depths, a statue of unknown origin. Still partially buried in mud, only thick tentacles are visible, seeming to writhe in the air itself on moonlit nights. The base hints at something more--a head broken off into the sand, perhaps? Researchers and scientists have been studying the artifact for years and are no closer to the truth.

Meanwhile, the Isles have seen a steady stream of tourism. Nestled just 30 minutes off the coast of Maine, it has superb views of the mountains of Acadia National Park and offers plenty of outdoor activities. Ferries run from the mainland to the islands every hour, on the hour.

There are charming shops around the various islands, and we are proud to say we have the lowest crime rate on the East Coast, despite a few disappearances. And rest assured, rumours of hooded figures on the beach at night are merely members of a local social club.

So come enjoy the simple life in Cranberry Isles. And remember...don’t go swimming after dark. We'd hate to see you go.
