Special Characteristics: Pia's true identity is no secret once water is involved. Her legs transform into a teal scaled fish tail whenever she comes into contact with water. This can be seen whenever she is outside in the rain or snow. She also has tribal like red markings scattered around her skin.

Personality:
Pia is very whimsical and innocent to say the least, known for being a bright eyed klutz with a thirst for knowledge of the world and human interaction- yet a tendency to shy away from opportunities to fulfil her desires. Her childhood has left a scar in her self-confidence, although Pia comes across as a bright and bubbly teen, she frequently finds herself worrying over what others think of her and how she presents herself. She takes figures of speech literally for she has little understanding of normal interaction between humans, therefore leaving her unable to understand sarcasm and punchlines alike. This means the girl is also incredibly gullible and will believe anything anyone tells her as long as the exhibit kindness along with their words, for Pia  uses kindness as a way to pinpoint others moral standings. Although Pia comes across as extremely childish and naïve, she has masses of emotional maturity, carrying the weight of her past upon her shoulders she has learnt to deal with a great deal of the trauma she experienced- however she still has a long way to go. She does not like expressing her negative emotions in front of others, having spent years in captivity she learnt to conceal her tears and instead paint a bright smile upon her face. Because of this she is usually giggling and smiling at the smallest of things, forever trying to keep herself and those around her happy. The only person in her life currently who is aware of her trauma and pain is Shino, her adoptive mother who she shares a very close bond with and relies on greatly. However now that Pia is old enough to venture out by herself, she is trying to become more independent and reduce her contact with Shino, despite this she often finds herself turning up on the older woman’s doorstep.

In battle Pia prefers to keep her distance from the enemy, not trusting herself to become too close for the fear of being injured – or more accurately, ruining the clothes Shino has made for her. The mermaid prefers to use her magic to support herself and her team as opposed to an offensive force, but when push comes to shove she has no problem stepping up to fight. When acting as a leader Pia can’t help but feel on edge knowing others are under her command. She feels a great sense of responsibility upon her shoulders and doesn’t want others to blame her for any losses in the team. Not only that, but Pia feels uncomfortable instructing others what to do as she believes others should be able to make their own choices; she doesn’t want to be held responsible for any injuries of theirs. However when she is acting under the commands of a leader she feels much more confident in what she has to do. The young mage likes to try to impress her team and leader as much as possible with her enthusiasm, often going out of her way to help others if they are struggling.

Likes:
○ Cleaning ○ After being taken in by Shino, the owner of the local bathhouse, Pia learnt to pull her weight by cleaning for the older woman, coming to enjoy her tasks as she felt as though it was her way of giving back to the woman who helped her. Cleaning is now an activity she does to clear her mind.
○ Animals ○ Pia finds it nearly impossible not to swoon over animals, in particular small pets, cats being her favourite. The girl can often be found running up to creatures she finds and rather aggressively petting them. The above applying to everything except squids of course.
○ Reading ○ Immersing yourself in someone else’s life in another world is one of the best feelings in the eyes of Pia. In her free time she loves to read fiction books and is rather proud of her vast collection of book at home, although she has never quite mastered the art of keeping them all on the shelves.
Dislikes:
○ Loud noises ○ Causing her to become skittish, loud noises irritate Pia immensely, she much prefers silence over any kind of noise, whether that be the sound of people or music. To her silence is the peak of relaxation and anything else is just a bother to her peace of mind.
○ Thunderstorms ○ A huge convenience in Pias life as it means she is unable to go outside, due to the young mermaid being of course of water origin. When she was younger she was informed that if she is struck by lightning she will be stuck in her half fish form for life. How bothersome.  
○ Sweet foods ○ Preferring to eat foods with great salt contents, sweet foods and deserts alike make Pia want to throw up. Her taste palette is not used to the sickly creations humans make on land, and she’d like to keep it that way.
Motivations:
○ Squid ○ Being part fish, Pia considers all species of squid to be her mortal enemies as they eat her kind. She claims squid are "the root of all evil," so as an act of vengeance, Pia has made it her life's mission to eat every kind of squid dish out there.
○ Mermaids ○ One of her greatest desires is to find  someone just like her, part fish and part human. She has yet to encounter one yet has made an oath to herself that she will find someone of her kind before she dies in hopes that it will make the world seem a little les lonely, knowing there are others just like her out there.
○ Shino ○ The woman who adopted Pia is also one of her biggest motivations, because of Shino, Pia strives to achieve her best and be the kindest person she can. When the young mage is about to give up, Shino will always fill her thoughts, snapping her out of her slump and picking her back up again. How can she let down the woman who saved her?
Fears:
○ Water ○ Despite it being her origin, the young mage links water with her traumatic childhood as it was in which all the experiments were conducted upon her. She is now only able to enjoy the presence of water if her eyes are closed, this helps her enjoy the sensation whilst avoiding flashbacks.
○ Small spaces ○ Another result of her tragic upbringing, Pia now suffers from claustrophobia and values her personal space, becoming uncomfortable if anyone comes into contact with her. Not only do small rooms bother her, but crowds of people too, her natural reaction is to locate the nearest exit as soon as possible.
○ Discrimination ○ All too aware that women with tails are not common in these parts, Pia prefers to keep her heritage a secret due to her fear of rejection and discrimination. She hopes one day she will be comfortable enough with herself and others to be open and honest, however for now she has sworn herself to secrecy and subsequently, large amounts of anxiety.
