That's how some would describe him. Others, a demon to mankind, plaguing the earth with his sinister distributions of justice. A monster behind the mask. Ao himself? He wouldn't know how to describe himself. He considers his personality a mystery, a mystery to be unravelled as his adventure continues.

His parents were despicable humans to put it lightly. They set him to work. His father owned a grand diamond mine while his mother supported the endeavour with signs of superficial encouragement, a facade to guise the fact that she was in it for the money. You could say this led Ao to glancing at the world with a degree of skepticism - everything and everyone had flaws, he'd usually be one to find them regardless of how pure any given intentions were.

Not to mention this charlatan of a supportive wife was not actually Ao's mother but simply a woman whom his father had deemed more appropriate and suited for marriage than the female who'd actually given birth to him. If it wasn't abundantly clear already, Ao was born out of wed-lock and for a family of such pedigree and pretentiousness; it made Ao immediately exempt from family benefits -- wealth, riches, comfort included.

You could say this developed a certain mental and physical resilience to his character. A strength not-so-easily found in modern-day society, especially one of this calibre. Out of embarrassment for his 'immoral' actions, his father sent him to work in the diamond-mines, exo-communicated from a life he should have known. This contributed greatly to the personality we know today. A slightly rough-edge to a meant-to-be diamond. Although his manner of speaking was particularly eloquent (as his father's infrequent visits did teach him a thing or two), and his elegance as an individual second-to-none -- he also developed a charm like none-other. A charm capable of winning the masses, not simply the high-society life that his fake mother so craved.

Continued labor until the age of sixteen did deliver a number of considerable negative traits as well. Working with ruffians, the ones who associated with his scandalous father, led to an equally scandalous outlook as well. A slightly violent persona came to the fore -- such an attitude was needed if one were to survive in these diamond mines. An explosive personality. A calm breeze that could transcend into a violent storm within a matter of moments. This schizophrenic tendencies even led some to believe Ao was blatantly insane. For a man to have charm and eloquence of the very highest caliber... simply to descend into something much darker; an untamed primal anger. An anger so terrifying that even a frail sixteen year old could strike fear into those whom would dare cross his path.

This anger would come and go though.. like lightning; it struck and then it vanished leaving only slight destruction in it's wake. To summarize, a high-society, superficial parentage developed a deep and noble eloquence to Ao's already vibrant and jovial personality. Beneath that layer of light concealed a blanket of darkness; an "untamed, primal" rage that was simply bursting at the seams. Those who witnessed Ao's shifts in personality would probably deem him insane, but to the masses... he was simply a privileged, cheerful young man.


Likes:

• Indulgence -- Despite a life clothed in hardship, his exposure to the high-life has left him wanting more.
• Storms -- There's a certain tranquility about storms, how the rest of the world goes silent whilst the earth rages on.
• Company -- Ao is truly in his element when wooing the masses with his eloquently-woven words.

Dislikes:

• Superficiality -- The existence at the surface, a fake enjoyment of all things; a dislike born of Ao's natural skepticism.
• Diamonds -- Despite having a love of gold and various other precious metals, his diamond-influenced past has led him to dislike the valuable substance.
• Gods -- Ao has a natural belief that there should be no believe that elevates itself beyond human society; mankind should govern itself without heeding religion.

Motivations:

• Ascension -- To both better understand himself, he believes the acquisition of power and rank will aid him in doing that.
• Companionship - Despite his relatively solitary life before, his desire for companionship whether that be in a guild or a partner is second to none.
• Strength -- Accompanying that, he seeks strength in others so he can challenge that to determine his place in the world.

Fears:

• Spiders -- This doesn't require an explanation..
• Caves -- A potential sign of PTSD; caves remind him of his past: a past he does not want to relive.
• Discovery -- He believes his aura of mysteriousness is one of his many charms and to lose that is a tender fear of his.

Appearance:

As described above, Ao is a averagely sized male with a slender build. His long white-hair travels to inbetween his shoulder-blades while spikes co-exist at the fringe of his head. His eyes radiate a deep golden though they have been known to shift to green on occasion. A life in the sun, beams reflecting off the diamonds he worked so hard to mine have developed a tan like none-other, a deep golden brown which, albeit, being a sign of the commonplace where he is from -- is still a feature worthy of envy elsewhere in the world.


His clothes are simply, a white robe with a hood at the back to conceal his face if necessary. Meanwhilst, golden jewelry adorns his neck and ears, a rare display of his kindness from his father.
