4000 words total (Minimum), 400 words per post.
Job Requirements: Find information about the mysterious portal by stepping through it, defeat the Treegaurd and return.
Job Location: Spooky Woods
Job Description:
According to the magic council, a mysterious portal has arrived in the spooky woods. They can sense an incredibly dark and vile magical presence coming through it. If you are a part of a neutral or legal guild, you are instructed to enter and find out where it leads and what is giving off the magical signature. If you are a dark guild member, you are instructed by your guild master to check it out.
When you arrive at the location described, you find the portal sitting in a clearing deep within the Spooky Woods. The portal is rather elegant, its made from two marble column and a simple block of marble resting on the top of them. Black, creeping vines with roses blooming on them creep up each marble column before meeting at the top and forming and eye. The portal itself rests between the two columns, and is circular and dark gray.
When you step through the portal you find... a camp. The portal sits in the middle of the camp, surrounded by a campfire, a few tents, a cluster of chests and a crooking station. All of this sits ontop of a makeshift wooden floor. Almost as soon as your through, you can feel eyes on you. The survivors who are living in this camp exit their tents and look at you.
They aren't hostile, apparently strangers popping out of the portal is a common occurrence. They do explain that you cant stay with them though, they don't have enough recources to even support themselves. They are thin and clearly hungry, on of them doesnt even look sane- shes sitting down and clutching her head like theres something inside trying to get out. One of them explains that they would have enough food to last the winter that is going to arrive soon, but they can't go exploring because of something lurking in the woods just out side of their camp. They call it a 'Treegaurd', a large abomination of dark magic that forces a tree to come to life and protect anyone who harmed the forest (And judging by the wooden flooring and chests in the camp, they have clearly chopped down many trees.) You offer to help, and head into the forest to try and find this 'Treegaurd'.
Restrictions of the job- Magic doesn't work like normal in this world. Magic does not regenerate normally here, and can only be restored by defeating monsters. Weak monsters award 10% MP, Normal monsters award 25% MP, Strong monsters award 50% MP, and Boss monsters restore 100% MP.
Enemies:
Weak: Spider x4
These spiders are impossibly large. Most of them stand at around waist tall to an average mage. They deal D rank damage and attack atleast twice every post. They will always target whoever hit them last. They take three D rank hits to defeat.
Normal: Hounds x5
Large wolves that are the size of men, these hounds are rough and ready to go. Sharp teeth and bloodlust in their eyes, hounds will attack as a pack. If one is attacked, they whole pack targets the attacker. They deal D rank damage per hit and take six D rank hits to defeat.
Hard: Nightmare Shadows x2
When these appear, you feel like your going insane. Your head throbs and pounds, you feel weak and your vision tints red and gets wavy. They rise from the ground and appear as birds twice your size. They deal C rank damage, and take 4 hits to defeat (Rank of spell doesn't matter, always 4 hits). Everytime they are hit, they teleport behind you.
Boss: Treegaurd
As you get near it you can hear its large, hulking foot steps. The Treegaurd is twenty feet tall, and is covered in thick bark that serves as armor. Before you can get close enough to the Treegaurd to attack, a woman named Charlie appears before you. She wears a black dress, and has a rose in her braided hair. When she appears you can feel an impossibly strong aura of dark magic. She mentions that its always nice to see someone new in her world, and about her curiosity of how you get here.
When you fight with the Treegaurd, you have the same insanity effect that you do when fighting Nightmare Shadows. Every four posts of fighting with the treegaurd, a Nightmare Shadow will be summoned. It deals B rank damage per hit, and will take 15 C rank hits to kill.
