It was a fairly normal day for Johann and the rest of the West Fiore Trading Company on Divide Island. The vice president had woken up and gotten dressed, this time he chose a white coat with grey streaks, a white formal shirt underneath and a pair of white pants, his West Fiore Trading Company pin tucked to his coat right above his heart and his rapier in its sheath, tied to his belt. He looked at himself in the mirror of his small room with his light grey right eye and his blood red left, inspecting himself from head to toe as per usual, and he approved of his appearance with a nod, leaving his room for the WFTC Headquarters' mess hall, ready for a hearty breakfast.
A few minutes later, he sat down at one of the tables, before him two slices of lightly toasted bread, scrambled eggs, bacon, red beans and sausage, a glass of milk beside the plate with his food. He couldn't help and felt his mouth water a little, grabbed his cutlery and started eating, enjoying the food alone as he did on most days. It was, much to Johanns pleasure, still somewhat early in the morning and the mess hall was rather empty, but he was lucky, since he always got up earlier than most people, that it was open for 24 hours a day and 7 days a week, due to the constant stream of ships, goods and merchants that were trading with the Company directly reaching Divide Island at pretty much all times. After he had finished his breakfast he silently stood up and left the mess hall for the entrance hall. This was the point of his day where he would normally start his training and head straight to the magic training hall, but he decided on something different today as he had done several times in the recent past. He pushed open the enormous mahogany front doors of the HQ and turned, leaving the street that was leading to Anhew port, the city at the sea with the public docks under the WFTC's control, and heading into the jungle.
It had been a few weeks since he had awoken his ancient blood, unlocking the full potential and the indomitable strength that came with it, and in the past couple of days he had left the limitations of the magic training hall behind, going out into the wild ... to hunt. He lusted for a test under realistic circumstances, and he got it every time. Additionally, he was looking for something else as well ... . Deep in the jungles of Divide, great, powerful magic beasts called the lush, vivid lands their home. He never had to search for long, and this time it was no different. The earth shook under the heavy steps of a majestic monstrosity that quickly approached, and Johann turned, seeing before him a creature that looked like a gigantic reptile, feathers partially covering its head and neck, sharp claws on it's large hands, the mouth covered in razor sharp teeth. The beast turned, spotting Johann immediately as he had intended by placing himself in plain sight, letting out a bone shaking roar before storming forward, pushing aside trees and plantlife of all sizes, it's mouth wide open. The speed mage easily avoided the sluggish creatures attempt to devour him, dashing to the side, providing him with the perfect opportunity to activate his powers, and he spoke the word that had been engraved into his mind a while ago. "Suscitatio", it calmly left his lips and the runes that covered the lower left half of his body and chest started to glow in a deep crimson red, quickly spreading across his entire body, his left eye turning completely black, his red pupil now glowing menacingly in its middle. He felt the power resonate inside him, and a deep, burning hatred filled his heart, but he restrained himself.
He jumped up, and catapulted himself forward at hypersonic speed, kicking the beast in its side with the enormous force of his velocity and magical energy, sending it flying through the jungle, taking down a large amount of trees in the process. He landed safely on his feet, with the runes retreating back to the left half of his body, letting out a sigh before he made his way over to the now unconscious monster. He had no intention of killing the beast, taking just a few feathers from the raptors head before leaving it be, heading back to the HQ. He had promised a friend to get this special thing for him in return for something else he eagerly desired, arriving at back at the Trading Company's Headquarters an hour later before making his way down the road towards Anhew. The docks appeared at his left and the city before him, the market in the towns center brimming with life, the scent of spices filling the air. He knew his destination, a small corner shop, owned by the one he wanted to give the feathers.
He opened the door, a small bill signalling his entry, and he was greeted by a short and somewhat chubby, middle aged man. "Ah, Johann, already here I see ? Your order came in yesterday, and I think you'll be pleased." "Good day, James," the VP gave back "good to see you my friend. I just got your feathers, still fresh. I think they'll make you a good sum." "Thank you" the other grinned back "Your "present" is in the bag beside the door. Was quite difficult to find that, so you better enjoy it !" the man told Johann with a warm laugh. Johann bowed before the merchant, taking the paper bag and peeking inside. It was the stupidly rare wine he had ordered a while ago, and a satisfied smirk found its way onto his face. He gave the other a wave and left the shop, heading back over the market and to the edge of town , the docks before him, ready to head back to the HQ when he spotted something unusual in the distance, using his runed left eye to get a better view. It was a young man with white hair sitting at one of the docks, tears in his eyes and seemingly in distress.
Johann shook his head. Now that he had seen the youth he couldn't just ignore him without trying to find out what was going on there, making his way over in an instant with his teleportation by turning into wind without delay, reappearing behind the young man and taking a step forward, placing a hand on the boys shoulder. "Good day, young man. Is there something wrong ? Let me introduce myself: Johann von Weiss, Vice President of the West Fiore Trading Company. Do you need any help ?", he asked, a friendly smile decorating his face.
