Re: Wine Testing | Solo Job
Shafts of sunlight slipped through the amber leaves overhead, pouring light on to the girl below, she looked mundane in comparison to the beauty of Rose Garden. Chaelin thought of herself as very lucky to have a job in such a pleasant place, a smile formed on her lips as she headed towards her destination; The owner of a high class restaurant had requested her assistance in taste testing his latest batch of wine before he served it to his customers. Reminiscent of her wilder teenage years, Chaelin thought she would give herself a chance to taste the alcohol which once upon a time she loved so dearly.
With a skip in her step and a gleam in her eye, the dainty girl knocked on the back door of the restaurants kitchens, where she had been instructed to go. Met with the warm welcome of the kitchen staff, she was lead into the wine cellar where she was to wait for the restaurant’s owner. With only just enough time pat down her dress and reposition her handbag on her shoulder, the owner came striding in, his voice booming through the small room, "My dear Chaelin! It's been a while!" A small chuckle escaped her parted lips as she bowed to her old friend, "Indeed it has Sir."
His shoes made hollow thuds against the dark oak floor as he led the fair haired girl over to a table, on which stood a single bottle of wine and two glasses. Upon closer inspection Chaelin noticed the glasses were half filled with a rich, crimson liquid, most likely poured by the young man adorned in a perfectly tailored suit stood somewhat stiffly to the right of the table.
"As I'm sure you understood from the job briefing, today you shall be taste testing my latest batch of wine, I only like to serve the absolute best to my customers you see," The older mans voice was filled with enthusiasm as he reached a withered hand towards one of the glasses, not a hint of anxiousness for he already knew his wine was flawless. His confidence filled the room and prepared Chaelin for what he was hinting at to be the best drink of her life. "Thank you very much Sir," Her dainty fingers wrapped around the bowl of the glass he had just passed to her. She swirled the wine around the glass, breathing the fruity aroma as the man next to her eagerly prompted her to take a sample. Soon following through with his orders, Chaelin lifted the glass to her lips and sipped the liquid. Her eyes fluttered to a close as she savoured the flavour. God it was good.
Using quite a bit of self-control, Chaelin stopped herself from chugging the whole glass and then the bottle. Carefully settling the glass back down on the table, a single hiccup slipping by her lips, her eyes crinkled as she smiled at the man who was gazing at her expectantly at her, chanting "How was it? How was it?" cutting off her chances to speak for a small moment. "Precisely what I'd expect from such a world renowned restaurant as your own, it's positively perfect," She chimed, observing the restaurant owner as he chuckled loudly and sipped from a glass of his own, nodding his head in agreement, "Why I think you are correct Miss Gaunt, this might just be my best batch yet!" And they both soon agreed that the customers would adore it just as they had.
