Six hundred years ago... Then why does he seem so familiar?
The robot thought to herself, trying to rationalize any possible means of her recognizing this man in front of her. His name, Aeon Van Frankenstein, or "Dr. Stein," was not in her memory files at all, and she couldn't match his face with any that she's recorded. It was frustrating, but somewhat intruiging how such an enigmatic man can appear so familiar to the robot maid. She grew more curious, but decided to drop it now as she gave an official greeting to this "Dr. Stein."
"Ah yes, I'm sorry Lord Frankenstein, it is just that I was certain that you seemed familiar to me, but I'm also certain we've never met. I was created in Bosco, a little over a hundred years ago, I don't know the exact date. But sadly the dates don't match up. It's a shame."
The servant nodded when the scientist mentioned securing a route, but the creature that was grumbling was beginning to become unsettling. This... thing... was obviously hostile and violent, but wether it was an enemy or not - that Strawberry could not discern. It was a strange creature, not one recorded in Strawberry's encyclopedia... Was this some sort of demon? Maybe the man was a demon summoner? He did say he was a doctor, however.
Wait...
Her body suddenly recoiled at the thought.
Did he CREATE that monstrosity? I've never seen anything like it... And as a doctor he would have an expertise in bodies...
Strawberry thought this just made the man all the more interesting, as this "Spike" obviously wanted to defend him, but didn't appear to recognize anyone else as not being hostile, unless Dr. Stein happened to tell it off. This meant that should Strawberry ever encounter it with Stein not around... That'd be an ugly time for her. Just as Strawberry was thinking this, a snap rang through her mind and suddenly a tunneling sound could be heard. The creature known as "Spike" was now plowing through the dirt as if it were nothing, and Strawberry had to take a moment in awe as it could dig so fast. She had no doubt that this creature could have secured quite a bit of tunnels for infiltration missions just like this one, and it was clear that it created this tunnel up until now.
Strawberry began walking forward along with Stein, unsure of the level of stability that this tunnel that was being created had. There was already a Rune Knight that fell through, what would happen if more people - or more Rune Knights - happened to fall through. One Rune Knight falling into a tunnel and never being heard from again is bad luck, a legion of them however couldn't be counted as that. That reminded Strawberry, she had to tell Dr. Stein that-
Strawberry stopped for a minute when she heard Stein's sentence about a woman by the name of Maria, while grasping a pair of wedding rings. It was clear that she wasn't here anymore, as he did mention being over six hundred years old. His wife - or at least, the woman he was going to / did marry - was probably a normal human, and he was not. She was subject to dying, he couldn't. Strawberry knew this all too well, being a robot of course, her creators died long ago, but she couldn't feel sadness or depression from it, like she was sure Stein was. Stein had someone to fight for, and Strawberry did not. These words were told to Strawberry long ago, as that was one of the few differences between man and machine.
Thinking not to speak on the subject, Strawberry would soon be helped out of the tunnel and began walking towards Era. This was home to the Magic Council, the enemy to most dark guilds. The thing was, her guild had no real affiliation with the Council. They weren't in agreement with it, obviously, but Strawberry's guild had no direct will to oppose the Magic Council. Perhaps Stein's guild did, however. That brought Strawberry to think again about Stein and his familiarity, and to what guild he belongs to. However, they were now approaching the front gate, to which they were stopped as expected. Stein however did have passes, which relieved the robotic maid. When Stein asked for a custodian cart and uniforms, Strawberry was about to respond with something, but she was soon cut off by Stein vanishing into the crowd.
Making a mental sigh, Strawberry pulled out one of her two coins that were invisible to the naked eye. She silently asked a wish, and the coin vanished. No visible effects occured, but she knew what happened. All of the staff member's memories have been rewritten, to acknowledge Strawberry as a maid / robot gift given by Bosco to clean around Era, and they wouldn't question her being in there. With that, she began looking for a custodian cart as Stein requested.
It didn't take long, for luck must have smiled upon these two job takers, as just when Strawberry was approaching the castle, she could already see a janitor. Waving to him, Strawberry gave a bright smile as he waved back. Asking the man where the closet was, as Strawberry supposedly "deleted the files on accident," she was soon led to the closet. Grabbing a cart and walked away, Strawberry was shocked when he didn't even bat and eye. The goddess she served was quite astonishing, but Strawberry didn't expect anything close to this level. Taking the cart back to the location, she'd wait the two hours for Stein to return.
If he waited a minute, I could have used my other coin on him... Oh well...
