Political Statement[Stein and Strawberry]

The sky above Era was sunny with several clouds, but soon the place will be a blood bath. Sitting in the tunnel that Stein's pet Spike has dug he waited for the other member of this job to arrive. Looking through the job notes they were given it all seemed rather straight forward. Hide an explosive, wait for the speaker to get to a specific part in his speech then blow him up with the hidden bomb, and then slaughter everyone in the room to show that dark mages reject their plans. "Do you also get the feeling like something unexpected is going to happen during this job?" Stein asked Spike with its reply being a bunch of clicking and hissing. He then proceeded to carry a conversation with his pet which at first glance would make him look crazy, but in all actuality his magic was allowing this feat to be even possible. Looking at his pocket watch there was still about twenty-four hours before the conference is to happen. "Let's see the security usually sweeps the place several times beforehand and right before it is to start. Where would they not be likely to look for an explosive?" He asked himself as he tried visualizing the possible locations that would be successful locations that be in the blast radius.

Hearing the echo of armored footsteps above it was clear that security is going to be fairly tight. To Stein's surprise one armored Rune Knight fell into the tunnel due to a soft spot on the surface area. "Spike feeding time." Stein ordered his pet watching the large pincer reach out and grab the Rune Knight then slice him in two. Spike grabbed the severed pieces eating the body leaving only the crumpled metal armor behind. "Tch. Pathetic Rune Knights they never change even after several hundred years." Stein said with hatred in his voice as he picked up the crumpled helmet. "Look where being the Magic Council's lap dog got you mister toy soldier." He said as his hatred towards the Magic Council was obvious, but it was a hatred from over six hundred years ago. Tossing the helmet aside so it was with the armor Stein pulled out one of his plasma pistols and fired a ball of plasma at the armor melting it as the plasma scorched the ground below and around the armor turning it into a black spot with cinders slowly burning out.

Looking up from where he sat Stein saw the person he was to work with, but Spike was being defensive and getting ready to subdue. "Stand down Spike that is no way to treat our ally. I am Dr. Aeon Van Frankenstein, but I go by Dr.Stein to shorten it and about Bosco last time I was there it was a little over six hundred years ago." He introduced himself while standing and dusting himself off. Spike began to do a low grumble as it wasn't getting much of a scent from their job partner. Looking at his pocket watch they had about twenty-two hours before the conference begins. "We should begin heading to the job location to prepare." As Stein said that he snapped his fingers which caused Spike to start digging towards Era. As they walked the tunnel a distinct sound could be heard every so often coming from Stein's person. Pulling a pair of old wedding rings attached to a necklace chain from under his shirt the mad scientist seemed almost normal for a second before putting them away. "This is for you Maria too bad I'll never see you up there." Stein muttered aloud as he looked up for a moment clearly symbolizing an obvious meaning. Spike stopped digging which indicated they had arrived at their location. "Spike get into position and wait their for the explosion as your indication to rupture through the floor." With those orders Spike began tunneling ahead of them as Stein opened the tunnel revealing that they were about a quarter mile away from the gates to Era. Climbing out of the tunnel he helps Strawberry out before dusting himself off and checking the briefcase that houses the explosive. It was a standard C-4 bomb, but Stein had an interesting idea on how they could hide the bomb after closing the case and heading towards Era.

As they reached the gate they were stopped by the guards like everyone else, but Stein was prepared for this sort of thing and handed them press passes. After checking them the guards returned the passes and let them through. Once they were a bit away from the guards he began whispering to Strawberry. "We need to find a custodian cart and a pair of their uniforms in order for this to go as I have planned. We'll meet back here in two hours." He said before walking off into the crowd quickly blending in with the mass of people in the area.

While Stein walked around Era he took mental notes on the guards preventing entry to certain areas of the place, but by the count of things there was a total of twenty guards within running distance of the conference room. Since the conference room wasn't being guarded he took a quick look inside to try figuring placement locations on a quick glance and figured about four spots that could do. "I'm sorry, but this room is closed until tomorrow" A Rune Knight said to Stein while placing a hand on his shoulder. Deciding to act like a normal person he faked being startled. "M-My bad I was just looking for a good spot to be for pics of the conference." He said in a convincingly nervous voice and walked off. Switching back to his normal demeanor as he continued walking around Era looking for a custodian suit that would fit him. "From what I saw in the conference room the stage is the best place to plant the bomb, but that would be such an obvious place to look, but maybe if I can pry up some of the tiles near the stage I could place it there." He continued silently thinking to himself until he bumped into a custodian walking in the same direction as him in the crowd.

"Pardon me sir I didn't mean to bump into you. Oh no look what I did I got your coat dirty. Please come with me to get it cleaned." The custodian started freaking out about the dirt on his lab coat. "No worries it isn't as bad as it looks, but I'll take you up on the kind gesture." Stein said acting like a nice person following the custodian to his office. Once in the custodian office Stein saw the man go straight to a locker, but he decided to take this chance to secure himself a custodian jumpsuit. Summoning Blitzkrieg he snapped his fingers causing the cheetah like creature to sneak behind the custodian and shoot its webbing from its mouth pinning the man in the locker. "I am truly sorry about this since you were so nice, but it comes with the job." He said closing the locker door before he searched for a jumpsuit that fit him. Once he found the jumpsuit it was placed in the briefcase and he headed back towards the meetup location sending Blitzkrieg back to the lab. Without realizing it he spent about an hour and fifteen minutes searching, but they still had a large gap before the main event begins.
