Name: Veil Jarman
Gender: Male
Age: 18
Birthday: January 1st
Sexuality: Straight
Special Characteristics: He’s secretly a magic jar. But don’t tell anyone, that’s a secret.
Personality:
Veil is a magical jar designed to capture evil. The man you see is simply a magic created golem that houses the jar when it is not in combat. Veil was created with the intent of purging the world for evil, and as such the artificial personality created inside of him was designed to to further that goal. Firstly he has a deep burning hatred for evil and supernatural forces, secondly he has a deep rooted love for justice, goodness and life these two feelings combine into a great drive to hunt down evil to preserve the life of the world. He is very passionate about his mission and pursues its fulfillment with a dead man’s determination. But despite that he is surprisingly human as if his creator desired not only to destroy evil but create a genuine force for good.
Despite being a magical tool Veil has quite a bit of personality built into him for the purpose of allowing him to cooperate with humans in the pursuit of his mission. He has an offbeat deadpan humor which he uses to build camaraderie with his fellows and he laughs easy finding most anything funny. Probably because his humor is artificial. He is very agreeable and tries a little too hard to get along with everyone; which sometimes makes him behave as a bit of a sheep. He has no qualms stepping up into a leadership position but is a rather bland barker of orders, and realizing his limited skills as a leader will often leave the task to someone more qualified. If he believes someone can help him in his quest to purge the world of evil he will generally bend over backwards to get along with them, and often persist in his efforts well beyond what is normal. He is also programmed to love singing and dancing, despite having no talent for either.
It is important to remember though that his human features are merely a tool to further his purge of evil. His desire for camaraderie is merely for gathering allies, his compassion for people is a pretense to justify hunting evils that plague them, and at the end of the day will prioritize the destruction of evil above these things. He will very often abandon comrades if he believes sticking to them will impede his quest to destroy evil more then it will help him. In such scenarios his lack of humanity is apparent as at the end of the day he is still just a magical jar.
His other emotions, joy, happiness, love, care, and other general human emotions are present but are often shallow and superficial. It is possible they could develop with human interaction but as of present he truly does feel inhuman and like a magical construct. Because well he is. The potential for growth was deliberately implanted into him, but his starting ground is very rough. He is rarely sympathetic and often callous; unable to recognize the feelings of those around them especially when they are not important to his mission.
He will take offense to being called a jar.
Likes:
-Purging Evil: Everyday is a good day to purify the world of demons and monsters.
-Song and Dance: However his talent is by no means proportional to his passion.
-Collecting Things: Surprise surprise, the jar likes to hold stuff.
Dislikes:
-Jaraphobes: Magic evil sealing golems are people too, and if you can’t appreciate that he has no words for you.
-Evil: Screw evil.
-Flat Surfaces: In his jar form he has a round base, he does not work well with flat surfaces.
Motivations:
-Jar On A Mission: Veil is programmed to hunt down all evil in all of it’s forms.
-Defending of The Innocent: Destroying all evil would do little good if there were no people around to witness the pure and good world.
-Humanity: Veil isn’t really any good at being a person, but he is interested in overcoming his inherently artificial nature.
Fears:
-Large Hammers: Well he is a piece of pottery you know.
-Becoming Evil: He is a jar that contains evil, and is capable of developing human emotions. His creator warned him against becoming corrupted himself.
-Moral Grey Areas: Evil is super subjective. Veil just wants to make the world a better place: not make difficult moral choices.
General Appearance
Height: 5’ 1”
Weight: 97 lbs
Hair: Darkish purple, slightly longer than normal and worn flat
Eyes: Also purple for thematic coherence
Skin Tone: Pale
Appearance:
In human form Veil is a rather short honestly sinister looking fellow. Apparently being a pot full of evil makes you look a little sinister yourself. He is physically uninspiring and just looks rather wimpy. As a sealing jar he is garbed in clothes seemingly made out of a repurposed fully body straight jacket complete with loose dangling straps. When going into battle he dons a totally not evil black cape and totally not sinister black hat that may or may not have a skull and crossbones on it. He carries on him a small bottle filled with a swirling darkness, upon drinking the contents he transforms into his jar form in a flash of dark light(?). The bottle is part of him and he just kinda pull it in and out of his torso all creepy like.
FC:
When transformed into a jar Veil honestly looks even more evil. The irony is completely lost on him. He is primarily silver but covered in light blue decals in the shape of demonic faces. Inside the pot is a swirling darkness complete with evil eye and menacing teeth representing the physical manifestation of all the evil he contains. To transform into his human disguise he spins rapidly before turning into a shapeless mass of darkness that rapidly takes on a human shape.
FC:
Guild/Council
Guild: Infinity Hydra
Tattoo: The red tattoo appears on the underside of his jar form. So naturally it appears on the bottom of his left foot in human form.
