Special Characteristics
Shapeshifter: after gaining (stealing) someone’s abilities, Faeral & Nyx can take on other forms including Faeral’s original “Remiel” and Nyx’s most recent life “Rohma.” They are not limited to just these however.
Another Self: Though her powers are otherwise stolen, Faeral opted not to leave Rohma for dead (in a manner of speaking now) instead fusing them together. This allows her the freedom to live even if at his whims and under his control, even in her new life as Nyx.

Personality
Faeral/Remiel
- Spoiler:
- Most first meetings involve a polite and pleasant Faeral, the man mostly made of smiles. After all a good first impression can really mean something and work out down the road, though this can be subject to change at the drop of a hat (generally not his because the man so does hate getting them unnecessarily filthy). One second he can be quite accommodating and cheerful, and then the next second he can swap to indifference and ready mockery or perhaps anger. The man’s range of emotions really depends on the situation except more than anything he’s ready to reap and rip out whatever enjoyment and amusement he can from a scene/moment – one of the reasons one sees him cheerful the most. For the most part he tries to stick to the “honey” approach in life rather than “vinegar.” Remiel builds upon this, though where Faeral’s attitude may change based on the situation Remiel can come off as more flippant and uncaring as his smile might persist even through dire situations. However he tends to be more approachable with his more open cheeriness.
The man really doesn’t “suffer fools gladly” or whatever the idiotic phrase is – in his opinion – because fools can ruin a good business venture, get one killed, or plain and simply ruin the fun. Because of his connections and dipping into various business ventures, Faeral doesn’t mind dropping a contact or two simply because of something stupid they did or mocking them outright when he knows they require his business/assistance. This is due to the fact that if they’ve required his assistance for anything or business, then they probably did something stupid to begin with and are now paying the price. Admittedly he will also search these people out, possibly with the sole reason of mocking them whilst making a profit. Even in the face of a legitimate fall or stumble in their practice, Faeral might be ready to drop them due to their liability and potential to fall again to a similar threat. In a bit opposition Remiel might seek such people out, caring less about appearances and the like, though the reasons might be questionable as he occasionally spurs such people into odd or dangerous situations. It could be said he likes to test people compared to this current life’s actual incarnation and so keeps his options open for a wider pool of candidates.
He isn’t without some compassion however, even if rarely shown. There are one or two things he’ll donate some money to, albeit under a pseudonym or without a name at all, but towards most this is a rare side to witness. Mainly he doesn’t trust many people aside for a handful of individuals because their world is filled with liars, cheaters, killers, etc. so he doesn’t see a point to bonding with too many people if they’re likely to die. Since his friendship isn’t easily awarded it’s something he figures anyone should hold in high regard, so he could be easily cross if someone takes it lightly or betrays his trust.
As far as combat goes, it’s rare for Faeral to be fully in the mood. Sure he’ll participate, but really he just wants it over and done with so he can move onto the next venture, event, or project. If anything he can be somewhat aggravating due to his bored attitude and smart-alecky commentary, going so far as to criticize some people if he finds them especially obnoxious or bad. If it’s a fight he knows he cannot win then the man will bide his time until the opportunity for escape presents itself, plotting to avoid as much damage to his person as possible. If he actually finds things exciting, then the man can get a little savage, eager to see the ends of his opponent’s prowess and determination, though he tries to keep some wit about him. Remiel instead prefers to play with targets, occasionally inspiring fights between others and yet not afraid to join the fray, though more for personal gain. The man does prefer fights he can gain something from even if it seems inconsequential to others.
Leadership is something he doesn’t take lightly whether playing the leader or taking orders. It’s an important position, one that must evaluate many factors and include room for the unknown. For this reason he really despises being under someone he views as incompetent – usually their plan alone sounding ludicrous or overly dangerous/not thought out. If such is the case then he might go along with things for a point and then ignore his orders in favor of preserving life: primarily his. The Big Kahuna isn’t the most favorable position for the man who usually likes to be less “in the spot of blame/the overall spotlight.” If necessary he’ll do it, though he might not make friends for some of his decisions. As far as his original self goes…its better not to let him lead as at least Faeral holds some care for useful pawns. Whimsy tends to cloud Remiel’s judgement at times, victory not always the primary goal in his endeavors.
Rohma/Nyx
- Spoiler:
- Life is something to be enjoyed rather than endured, or such is the philosophy of the wandering woman. Rohma prefers to spend her time doing things she loves and enjoying herself, entertainment far more worth seeking than misery since misfortune can find one anywhere at any time. If she must meet it, then let it be with a cheeky grin or smirk to soften the brunt of the blow. The often smiling visage affirms her otherwise friendly attitude, going so far as to speak informally with most people she just met unless it’s a special function or party and isn’t afraid to throw an arm over someone’s shoulder or slap them on the back for whatever reason (consoling, congratulations, etc). It’s easy to believe one might be her friend from the moment hellos are exchanged from her treatment, and people aren’t wholly incorrect. For the most part a lot of this hasn’t changed since her rebirth as Nyx Che’Valie Accoliae with the exception of acting a little less hostile towards certain persons, such as her brother for example and his servant (as well as friends for that matter).
In a sense Rohma possesses many friends across the country due to her travels, but in her mind friendship is an easy enough thing. Act cordial and try to understand one another, apologize if you over-step your bounds, and don’t make moves against the other’s business. Beyond minor conditions though of acting nice enough to one another however, Rohma doesn’t expect a lot from other people. Life is easier if she expects them to do nothing in the long run as that makes any positives a pleasant surprise and the negatives as things to shrug off or disown the person depending on the grievance. For her, trust is something to be earned and then protected rather than tossed aside carefully so it confounds the woman when people do it so easily and with little regard to the repercussions. Thanks to some past experiences it’s why she likes to keep people at some distance to get a feel for them to avoid the pains of the fall down the road. Once the trust is won the person becomes like family to the vagabond, one she’ll tease mercilessly if given a chance as well as protect. Anyone she gets along with should expect a nickname at some point or another, sometimes subject to change depending on her growing fondness for the person. Whether one can become “like family” to Nyx is another matter entirely. Acting like your new best buddy might be the flavor of the moment, but if there’s a better opportunity that clicks with her then the girl might be off the next side and leaving the person holding the damning evidence. She remains very open for teasing given any opportunity provided reactions remain entertaining.
Rohma can either be the life of the party and in the thick of trouble or good times, or she’s leaning against the wall enjoying whatever spectacle’s unfolding and possibly with a camera at the ready. If things are subdued and quiet then the girl will go along with it all the same, but if it’s not a necessity then it’s likely the woman will duck out early since the refined lifestyle really isn’t for her. The notion of someday having to truly act like a lady of status leaves her sides splitting even as a comical shiver runs up her spine – gods knows she’s had odd nightmares about it. While Nyx holds little to no plans to become a proper lady of society that won’t stop the woman from remaining at a party and having a good time, maybe trying to liven things up if they remain too staid or boring.
She bears a strong desire for freedom now, at a bit of a loss on how to approach life with current events and yet perhaps more freaked out by truths she’s discovered. While she remains vibrant at the best of times its left her worrying internally, unable to escape constant reminders of his presence.
As long as the person doesn’t rub her the wrong way or give out idiotic orders Rohma’s fine with following, though she might still view them more as “suggestions” than outright orders. There’s always room for some interpretation and creativity because she’d certainly expect some with any orders she dishes out. Leadership comes more naturally for Rohma in specific circumstances than whenever and wherever, more likely to crop up at a dig site than a battlefield. Sure she might be fine with telling one or a few people what to do, but controlling a battalion isn’t within the girl’s nature because in combat she thinks more in solo terms than full group dynamics due to years of traveling alone. Trying to account for more than a few people boggles her mind and the wanderer applauds those capable of the feat, but she’d much prefer to fight with only a few companions to avoid tripping each other. Rohma’s capable of becoming an emotional fighter, but without a trigger she sticks to a more analytical nature and tries to plan a few moves ahead.
Faeral
- Spoiler:
Likes:- ~"The same song can be interpreted differently depending who plays it – everything from their style to their mindset at the time affects the tune."~
Music: So much can be conveyed through sound, and none more favored by Faeral than that via instruments. Even the player can be observed in how they perform/interpret a song. His favorite by far is the violin, though he enjoys various others. - ~"People are like opening a present: you never know what you’re going to get."~
New Acquaintances: New people are such a treat! Their reactions, their mannerisms, their way of handling things: there’s simply so many possibilities locked in each and every person that everyone’s fun to meet, at least in the beginning! After that they either become more intriguing or boring depending on a variety of factors. - ~"Everyone needs a hobby. A room dedicated to it merely shows one’s enthusiasm."~
Hats: Mostly top hats, and more so decorated top hats are amongst Faeral’s favorites, but the man has been known to don the occasional fedora. Cowboy types are great for traveling, and he even enjoys wearing newsboy types. The man will go so far as to try various “exotic” ones as well, with sombreros being his favorite so far. The only types he’s not particularly fond of are baseball caps and overly floppy ones.
Dislikes:- ~"Really, they're just a way for the in-power to stay there. Without them things might be a little more interesting."~
Laws: They're more like guidelines in his opinion, and the notion of forcing one's ideals and restrictions upon others strikes Faeral as somewhat ludicrous. Not to say he's going to overthrow the "system" to make his idea of a Utopian society, he just thinks things should be a little looser to allow for proper creativity. - ~"Pheh, there are worse reasons to destroy someone’s life…what do you mean there aren’t?"~
Mockery of His Hats: Possibly the easiest way to flip his switch to anger or some form of wrath (more likely to set him on a path of vengeance) is to mock and/or harm his hat. Doesn’t matter how long term the plan or route, a person will eventually pay for mockery of his finer headpieces – primarily the top hats. - ~"I wouldn’t be here if not for her: you would do well to choose your words carefully."~
Mockery of his Mother: Call him a mother’s boy if you wish, the issue generally stems from some of the stodgier of his father’s business partners and employees. Due to his mother’s love of the occult and other such strange obsessions people generally like to mock her memory, something that has irked Faeral since his younger days. The one who brings you into the world shouldn’t be mocked after all the work and pain they went through.
Motivations:- ~"Life shouldn't be wasted in tedium. One simply has to be...creative sometimes."~
Fun: Time shouldn't be spent in boredom, even when one has a job to do. As such, Faeral strives to have as much as he can regardless of the situation. - ~"People will make up just about anything…but sometimes falsehoods lie on a small, true fact. So, just how much of it is fiction? That’s my question."~
Legends/Myths: From the Lost City of Atlanta (or Atlantis) to the Fountain of Youth, pantheons of gods and the very depths of Heaven and Hell – discovering which fantasies are real and which are fake seems like an entertaining past time. If he can bring back proof to the skeptical then it’s even more fun! If they decide to continue to laugh/mock the idea then…what a shame. - ~"There comes a point when, if you have enough ‘friends’ you no longer have to pick sides. I’ll be the neutral zone: free to watch as everything plays out. Of course, sometimes their favors alone might be…entertaining."~
Contracts: Strange as it may sound, the more people Faeral “signs up” then the less likely it is he’ll have to fight them, especially due to the cardinal rules of every contract – regardless if more are added or not. Then again, half the fun is what they may ask of him in the first place, so long as it doesn’t break those initial three rules…Although he does view many other parts of life as a “contract,” so to be fair even someone labeled a friend would be seen as one even if the terms aren’t as clearly laid out (beyond Faeral’s mind). It could also be simply interpreted as “meeting lots of interesting people.”
Fears:- ~"If I want to be alone then I will. I simply like being amongst the masses."~
Isolation: Otherwise a fear of being alone, more so without a choice. The idea of being trapped somewhere with no escape and nobody in sight makes him a little uncomfortable to say the least. So long as he has the choice to be among people or not things are fine. - ~"There is still so much to do it simply cannot be done in a single lifetime! Imagine the possibilities of being able to start over anew yet recall everything…though, I suppose there would be some unpleasantness mixed in…oh well, no matter."~
The End: Death isn’t a fear so much as permanent death. Locked in a cycle of reincarnation, Faeral is perfectly happy to live this new chain of life through to each new beginning. He will not, however, stand for those who seek to end this cycle be it his personal chain or the entirety of reincarnation. The fact it could be someone’s goal would be shocking to the man as well as cause a chill to race down his spine. - ~"The senses are an amazing thing, keeping one in touch with the world around them. To lose the beautiful music of life…well, that simply will not do…"~
Hearing Loss: Listening to the beautiful sounds – even of some might question a few of his choices or what he decrees as “music” – is a pleasure of his, and to have that taken away for any reason is a nightmare in of itself. He’d much rather lose taste regardless of how delicious any food or beverage might be, or even touch if it meant a slight sensation of isolation.
- ~"The same song can be interpreted differently depending who plays it – everything from their style to their mindset at the time affects the tune."~
Nyx
- Spoiler:
Likes:- ~”I never feel more alive n’ up there…damn, makes me shiver just thinking about it!”~
Flying: Easily the top favorite activity, trumping even a good temple dive or excavation find. Being high in the sky with the wind billowing past as she swerves around or through clouds and maybe some seconds of free fall is a thrill she can’t seem to pass up – but more often than naught she does prefer to be in control. - ~”Ya never know what kind of nifty things people of the past have left behind. It’s even more interesting to see what they cooked up that people have yet to figure out nowadays…”~
Treasure/Artifacts: While money continues holding an allure for Nyx, it’s really treasures and artifacts of the past that hold her attention. Things lost in time with magic and capabilities one can only dream of locked away somewhere, waiting for someone to find, potentially dangerous and world changing to something mundanely amusing and knick-knacky, and possibly all her’s…and her “brother’s” too. Then again the notion of keep away is entertaining in of itself… - ~"I dunno...ya kinda had to be there. All I can really say is: it left me breathless."~
Travel: Cameras, words, even magic – as far as Nyx’s concerned - fail to fully capture the essence of other cultures and even locations. To feast on the sensatory pleasures of sunsets on sandy dunes, the brewing of storms out on the ocean from the beach, and the hustle n’ bustle of a lively trading street – these things have to be felt first-hand to truly understand and she loves (almost) every moment of it.
Dislikes:- ~”It might be silly, but I don’t think I’ll ever forgive carrots. It was too harsh of a betrayal for me…”~
Carrots: The reason she dislikes them is quite simple and ludicrous to some – she dislikes them because they don’t taste nearly as good as oranges as she imagined they would as a child. This left a bitter taste in her mouth about the veggie and she prefers not to eat it knowingly. While this isn’t something she’s experienced personally in this life, the memory seems to stick out from her last one enough that the woman of today accepts it as fact despite how her taste buds may have changed. - ~”What can I say? It’s gross. Simple as that.”~
Rotting Flesh: While the fear of the undead isn’t a shared fear, it’s certainly a shared disgust between both incarnations. Nyx cannot stand the looks nor feel of decaying flesh. Do not wiggle it in front of her face and be surprised when it’s slapped over your’s in return. - ~”Enjoy it while you can: nothing good ever lasts for long. Not for simple folk like yourself.”~
Theft: Not in general so much as from her. To have something swiped from under her fingers that the woman was oh-so looking forward to owning is aggravating to say the least. Don’t plan on keeping it for long as Nyx isn’t one to let what’s her’s remain in another’s possession without her consent or some sort of contract of borrowing. It depends on her mood how the object will vanish from someone’s vault however, as things tend to be as clean or messy as she pleases.
Motivations:- ~”I think most people dream of making it big or getting their name out there, mine just happens to fall into the ‘discovery’ category. I admit though if it’s really pretty I might keep quiet about it.”~
Discovery: Tombs, ruins, anything anywhere people have yet to discover or root through is her desired place to go. Granted if people have already been there that’s okay too, but she dreams of uncovering many unfound gems of knowledge (though treasure is always welcome). - ~”We never stop learning, though some people lose interest in actively searching. I can’t help my abundance of curiosity though: it’s inherited.”~
Knowledge: Nyx desires to know many things, none of which needs to be connected. Good blackmail material, data about old/new magic, legends, tips about treasure: doesn’t matter the type, Nyx often does what she does to learn something new. - ~”Do you ever have that feeling of invisible chains? No? Then you’re your false sympathies: you’re still to blind to understand the world.”~
Freedom: A complicated thing to explain. Though Nyx holds less issues than her previous incarnation in regards to freedom the entity knows it’s something that she desires just as much as her predecessor. However unlike Rohma, Nyx is aware of far more binding issues than her brother, something she’ll at least accept working in tandem…though to someday share equal power might be something of a subgoal.
Fears:- ~”I don’t care what you or ANY association says: it’s a rat and a damn good trickster to have all of you fooled!”~
Chihuahuas: Granted it’s likely stemmed from some bad owners, but while Nyx doesn’t seem to mind rats in the slightest she has a very strong distaste for Chihuahua’s (in her words). As far as the woman’s concerned they’re vermin that have tricked humans with their babyish features, and while she begrudgingly admires their trickery for such folly they unnerve her for that same reason. - ~”Even fairy tales bare their dark sides. Prince Charming won’t always save the day, though it’s not always a princess that’s asleep either…”~
An Awakening: Something she refuses to discuss with anyone for any reason, discovering that their father may not truly be dead shook Nyx deeply. Now she bears a fear of the day that thing may awaken and what may come with it, especially if the wrong person unearths the ruse. - ~”They were so foolish back then and now…now we’re all paying the price for it. I may be lucky for now…but there’s no saying when that luck’ll run out. Someday I may cease to be…”~
Loss of Self: Nyx doesn’t fear death in the same way as mortal beings fear death. She fears a complete end to existence, but more so because her existence is no longer her own nor under her personal power. Though she bears some power in the relationship on an unspoken level Nyx understands that at any moment, with but a single whim, she may completely cease to exist entirely.

General Appearance
Faeral
- Spoiler:
Height: 6ft 1in
Weight: 176lbs
Hair: Black, kept relatively short and somewhat messy
Eyes: Golden
Skin Tone: Relatively fair, only the slightest of tans in place
Appearance:
Faeral is a man of a slim, toned build as he’s not fond of unnecessary and bulky muscles (he’d like to be able to touch his shoulders, thank you). Thanks to conducting a fair amount of business he manages to avoid excessive sun, and as such retains a fair, but healthy looking skin tone. His black locks are a little free because he’s not fond of unnecessarily brushing his hair too much or bothering with gel to keep it in some creepy, greased back looking condition outside of fancy functions – at which point he might suffer it a little. Golden eyes manage to go through a ray of hues, turning almost bright, feline yellow if he gets too excited or there’s too much sunlight going on, and can go as low as a dull gold if he becomes far too bored or suffering the tedium of too much paperwork.
Out of all his clothes Faeral’s favorites are definitely the hats, especially the more fanciful top hats, though he owns a few normal ones for business ventures. There are, of course, others, including maybe one or two sombreros he wears only for the most special of occasions, and others that sport little decorations – feathers being his favorite addition to anything from a fedora to a cowboy’s hat. For the sake of business he generally dons suits – some variety of slacks, button up shirts, probably a vest, and maybe a tie or bow depending how casual or fancy he needs to be, with jackets being the final piece de resistance.
For the sake of adventuring he’ll generally go a bit more casual, such as dark jeans, some variety of shirt – weather depending, may or may not have a vest if he feels like going in with a little style, and often times has a long-length coat ready as well (generally a dark blue or black one). Even with a hat Faeral usually sports a pair of goggles along as they’ve helped on multiple occasions in his life. Despite all his higher society upbringing, the man is definitely not opposed to occasionally looking like a ragamuffin as it can be quite freeing to change styles up.- Spoiler:
Remiel
- Spoiler:
Height: 5ft 10in
Weight: 165lbs
Hair: Orange-red
Eyes: Green (left), ice blue (right)
Skin Tone: Slight tan
Appearance:
Armed with ear-length, reddish-orange hair, the man usually refrains from tying it back with a bandana save for particularly warm days. More than likely he’ll don a hat if truly necessary, otherwise preferring to let the wind mess with his locks as it pleases. Bangs are usually styled so that they obscure his right eye from view, the man occasionally using an eyepatch to hide the icy blue eye beneath and leaves only the green one readily since it tends to alarm people less.
Over a slightly tanned, toned body he sticks more too casual clothes, jackets generally being the more ornate out of everything and often times that’s only when he’s feeling particularly “dressy” for whatever occasion or reason. He favors boots in this form, usually tucking his pants into them. As long as the weather permits he likes to don a scarf, often times loosely around his neck, but will tighten it if it’s particularly chilly or windy that day and will wear fingerless gloves over normal ones. Accessories come and go, sometimes simple chains or small hoops in place as he does appreciate a slight “pirate/brigand” look more for stylish purposes than actual plundering.- Spoiler:
Rohma
- Spoiler:
- Height: 5ft 5in
Weight: 121lbs
Hair: Raven black
Eyes: Pale blue
Skin Tone: Dusty tan
Appearance:
Long pitch black hair reaches almost all the way down her back when Rohma lets it free, the thick bunch of locks usually bound up in a ponytail. When traveling her hairstyle usually comes accompanied by a sash or scarf to help keep the rest of her flyaway locks under control. Bangs sometimes hide or obscure blue eyes, the orbs almost icy looking next to the dusty tan of her skin.
Jewelry is kept to a minimum, Rohma not one for wearing lots of gems or metal aside for some ear clasps, and sticks mostly to leather bracelets and necklaces. When traveling a pair of goggles are kept either on her person (usually hanging around her neck or over her headscarf/headband, otherwise in her travel bag) for any occasion that might pop up. The final odd piece one might find is some sort of charm for good luck, fortune, or whatever else strikes Rohma’s fancy dangling from a belt loop, often signifying what city or country she visited recently. She’s got a bit of a collection going for them.
Most of her everyday wardrobe ranges in pretty new to “ragged and ready to be burnt/tossed soon” as many garments suffer from abusive travels and conditions. Most jeans gain rips within the first month or two of ownership, jackets scuffed here and there, and shirts sporting the odd hole here or there – leading the girl to often wear at least a tank top beneath them. Some clothes are set aside for “non-travel use” though so she doesn’t always appear the ragamuffin or like a punk kid when in leisure mode. For all her preferences towards sportier and durable clothes, Rohma does enjoy the occasional dress or skirt for off days she’s just more likely to be found in shirts and shorts weather permitting.- General Appearance:

Nyx
- Spoiler:
Height: 5ft 7in
Weight: 125lbs
Hair: Blond
Eyes: Pale purple
Skin Tone: Lightly tanned
Appearance:
Long blond locks on and off find themselves bound by a hair band, left in loose ponytails when she needs the wavy golden strands out of the way. As she’s not one to get fancy without a reason her hair otherwise remains loose to flow as the wind pleases. Bangs frame her face, highlighting pale purple eyes that darken with strong emotions – be they troublesome or beneficial for others.
Nyx follows her previous incarnation’s inclination towards casual dress and going with the weather, often sporting at least some variation of a vest or jacket atop a usually simple shirt. Shorts and pants are her preferred go-to for bottoms, but she’s been known to done the occasional half skirt here or there (albeit still accompanied by leggings or a pair of shorts). Since a girl should often come prepared it’s not uncommon for her to wear a belt purely to attach a small pouch or few for the smaller necessities of the job. For footwear Nyx often goes with some hardy style of boot with lengths usually ranging from above the ankle to a little above the knee. While colors may vary at any given time, earthy hues as well as black and white seem to be her primary go-to for color with the occasional featuring of something bold or pastel. While the mage veers light as far as accessories go, she will often don gloves (sometimes fingerless sometimes not) as there’s a certain comfort they seem to bring her.- Spoiler:
