WIRED UP TO DETONATE ★ private, job, hikari WIjlryD

    Vesta Guildless C-Rank

The nine year old sat in the train, fidgeting with her necklace, the bird like key was smooth within her delicate grasp. She was nervous, and emergency was happening in the main Hospital of Magnolia. Apparently a plot to blow the hospital into smithereens had been found out by the authorities, so they rushed to get mages to help. They requested legal guild mages, but since they were in a pretty desperate situation, they didn't mind that a guildless mage was one of the people helping. The other person who had taken up the job was a young woman from Black Rose, that is as much as she heard when she was on her iLac with the people who sent out the job requests. She hoped that everything would turn out alright, she didn't want anybody to get hurt because she couldn't do her job properly. Vesta wants to help, at the same time doesn't know if she could handle if somebody got hurt and she could've prevented. She had pride in her magic, but not that much, she isn't experienced. Though she is dependent on it, she is still rather new to her. Plus this job was a little bit out of her league, so she hoped that her job companion would be more capable then herself.
The train came to a stop, once the doors were opened, the brunette rushed out and made her way towards the hospital. Putting her bag, that held within it her magic book, on her back as she jogged to her destination. Though she had to ask somebody for directions because she couldn't remember the way there, due to not being very familiar with Magnolia, only going there on occasion to do jobs and such. She actually lived in Talonia with her mother, home to a lot of guildless mages like herself and her mother. It has it's beautiful sites like any other location, like it's park, she hasn't actually taken the time to visit (though she has heard about it). It isn't the best place for a young girl to be raised, filled to the brim with a variety of people with questionable morals. Though she couldn't complain, and really didn't have any complaints, she had a cozy house that she spent most of her time cleaning or reading in.
When she made it to the hospital, her petite hands tightly gripping the straps of her brightly colored backpack, she scanned her surroundings with a look of determination in her green eyes. Vesta had to find her job partner, if she was even here yet, she wasn't sure, hopefully she didn't get lost or wasn't going to run to late. Unless the witch was the one running late, she did get sort of lost after all. Pushing her worries aside, she decided to wait at the front of Magnolia's hospital, which seemed like the most logical place to wait in this situation. She hoped her partner wasn't the reckless sort, cause then maybe she charged in already and then Vesta would be waiting for nobody and looking stupid, feeling bad that she didn't end up doing anything to help. No, she was worrying again, she hated that she had become such a worrywart, other kids her age weren't like this were they? She didn't really hang out with anybody her age besides one time with a girl named Shizuka, and one time she played tag with some other kids, but that was all she could think of at the top of her head. Being rather mature for her age, she spent most of her time doing housework or running errands if she wasn't doing jobs. Though usually her jobs weren't as stress filled as this one.

The world had been quiet recently and for mages that was a good thing and a bad one. It was good considering that no recent events that had happened had harmed those in Fiore and Hikari was always grateful for that. But... not to sound greedy, but it was also making it hard for some of the lower ranked wizards to get jewels.
These mages had been struggling to get by and usually there isn't much work to do that pays well when all is well. Chaos is a factor in how much money you get paid and walking dogs isn't going to pay your bills. At least not well that is. So, the Black Rose mage had been silently taking simple jobs such as helping out a orphanages and more charitable places, but they don't usually pay with money; it's more compensation with goods. So, the jewel flow had slowly come to a halt as the world slowly relaxed.

That is, until all alarms around Fiore erupted at the same time. It was revealed that a terrorist group had planned to bomb the hospital soon and the Magic Council was unaware of this plot for quite some time which makes the mission much more urgent. Thousands of lives were endanger and those who were already suffering might be in even more danger than before. The Magic Council was trying to choose mages to help but a lot of mages were on missions which made the search even more drastic. They tried to recruit as many mages as possible, preferably leagl mages, but preference wasn't really a priority. They had accepted a sizable amount of guildless mages as well. Hikari was one of the legal mages to accept the job. She was shocked by the reveal of the sinister plot to blow up the hospital so the girl was willing to help in as many ways as she could. Ready to fight, the holy mage made her way to Magnolia in order to help defend the hospital with all the strength she could muster.

Along the trip, she had learned that the companion on the mission was a guildless mage. Huh,
she hadn't worked with a guildless mage before. Even so, the concept of a guildless mage feels quite odd to the noble. Didn't mages seek guilds so they could find a home, a place to come back to with people to see? She was quite curious to ask about how they did after the missions and where they would even get their requests. It was honestly all quite fascinating to think about. The next tidbit of information that shocked her was when she learned that the guildless mage was a nine year old girl. The Councilman who was briefing her on the mission details seemed to glance over this fact but it didn't stop Hikari from noticing. Even if they are desperate for fighters, who in their right mind would send a child out to battle? This poor girl might barely have control of her magic, and even more so considering, magic is heavily related to emotions and if she reacts negatively, her magic may react so too. This girl was putting herself in danger for battle, and who was watching her? Why was she alone? At her age, Hikari was...

Never mind. But either way, Hikari's face twisted in slight confusion at the thought of a nine year old girl going into battle against terrorists and disarming a bomb. Hikari sighed to herself as she put a hand on her chest. This was no time to get stressed over the details. This young girl may require her to lead the mission after all. The Black Rose mage was confident in her abilities as a strategist so this will lead them to victory. Either way, she can't stop the negative thoughts on this child who is already free to live out in the world from eating away at the back of her mind.

While she walking towards the hospital, she made out a petite figure in the distance and quickly deduced that this would be her job partner. After all, not many children would voluntarily go to the hospital that under emergency protocols to save all the patients. Walking up to the girl seemed to worsen the red head's mood but she couldn't put her finger onto why. She... just didn't like this idea. She had ten years on this girl but it felt like they were the same age because she had only started experiencing the true nature of the world around six years ago.
Tapping the petite girl on the shoulder, Hikari would be quick to erase all negativity on her face as she stated, Hello there, young lady. Am I to assume that you are my job partner today? Yeesh, talk about forced. It wasn't Hikari's fault. She felt like she was going to have a hard time keeping her character around this girl. But, it won't affect the mission. After all,
they have to save those who are endanger at the moment. Hopefully, the girl has a decent amount of magical ability but with Hikari sensing the girl's magical power, she knew that she could defend herself if Hikari fails to get all enemies approaching her. It's just a matter if she was up to the fighting.

WIRED UP TO DETONATE ★ private, job, hikari WIjlryD

    Vesta Guildless C-Rank

Her green gaze glued to a regal young woman, her flowing reddish-pink hair cascaded her shoulders, and elegant gaze of the same color gazed across her surroundings. She stood out, but in a good way, her posture was perfect and her appearance was that befitting royalty. Vesta also felt strong magic emitting from her poised figure, so she guessed that she would be the person assisting her on this mission. The young woman look self-assured and she didn't look stressed at all about this situation, at least not that the young witch could see. And soon her assumptions of her being her job partner was confirmed when she walked up to her. Speaking to the nine year old in a soft tone and a bright smile on her fair complexion. Though she was distracted at the moment, she realized a little later that her smile seemed a little forced. But maybe that was just the young girl's natural suspicion and curiosity. She wondered if it was nothing, or if the young woman was actually forcing a facade in front of the witch. Which added some worry to the girl, what was wrong with her? First thing that came to mind was because she was a child, maybe the woman wasn't as she appeared and actually hated children, or some such.
Quickly before it evolved into something illogical and stupid, as her worrying often did, she pushed the thoughts out of her head. It was nothing, she told herself, she shouldn't try and totally judge someone just by first impressions and probably misread facial expressions. She cursed herself mentally for judging people at all, it wasn't a nice thing to do, everybody was equal no matter how they acted, it wasn't right for her to do any judging towards anybody. Another flaw of hers that she hated, despite it not being that bad at all, though she knew it could grow into something worse when she grows older, if she let it. So might as well scold her faults now before they got out of control. All these thousands of thoughts passed through the young witch's head in a few moments after the sophisticated young woman spoke to her. Before the pause became to long and became awkward, she nodded muttering 'Yes' with a small smile. She was pleased that she was addressed as 'young lady', as no one has ever did so before. It was so polite and made the little girl feel distinguished. "Nice to meet you, my name is Vesta Sartaq." she introduced herself with a curtsy, as she saw as fitting while introducing herself to the young woman who was like royalty.
Her thoughts were then just pulled back to reality, as she remembered why they were here. Bomb threat, they needed to save all that were in danger, before it was to late. She couldn't let anybody get hurt because of her tardiness, it'd weigh on her conscious for a long time, perhaps forever. So she stopped her curtsy, dropping her skirt back to her sides as she was lifting it slightly so go with her introduction. Stress immediately flooded back into her, the doubts in her abilities to complete such and urgent and important job returned into a mentally heavy burden upon her small shoulders. "Well we should get going now, right.....uh......uhm....." her voice became small as it faltered, she realized she introduced herself but didn't let the other girl do the same. Now she was embarrassed, she cursed herself for being stupid. Her face flushed sheepishly, she played with the hem of her shirt, putting her green gaze to the ground. "What's your name?" she said in a voice so quiet it was almost a whisper, she laughed nervously, not the greatest first impression she's given to someone she must say.

    1714/3750 WORDS

Hikari smiled at the younger girl. Despite her petite figure, she acted somewhat maturely for her age, which wasn't something that Hikari had expected out of her. At least she now knows that her partner will be capable for this mission as opposed to her just defend the small girl. The red head wasn't sure if she would be able to get over the thoughts that lingered in her mind about the guildless mage standing before her. She was already exploring the world at her innocent age when she- er- other people were being chained to the place that they were supposed to call home. Unable to be free. Trapped in a cage. It was bewildering to the noble girl and she still couldn't help the bitter feeling that was welling up inside of her chest. Hearing the small girl's quiet acknowledgement of the question she asked however, snapped the holy mage back to reality. She shouldn't be letting this phase her as much as it is. She looked at the girl somewhat blankly as she introduced herself. Vesta Sartaq. That's going to be a name that's going to be hard for me to forget. A smirk played on the red head's lips as Vesta curtsied. Her emotions were somewhat easy to read as she had a feeling the way that Hikari had greeted her had affected her greeting slightly. No matter, in the line of duty, all are equal, no matter their station of birth. Hikari smiled gently at the girl and curtsied back, doing a lot better on making her expression more natural despite the lingering negative feelings.

After they had exchanged their greeting, Hikari looked at the hospital, turning her focus back to the objective. No matter who her job partner was, Hikari was determined to save those who were now endanger. The thought of people horrible enough to harm a hospital sickened her and she wants to show them vengeance on their actions. Hearing Vesta mention how they should get started made Hikari chuckle. Surprisingly, the two seemed like they were on a similar wave length in terms of ideas. Looking at Vesta, she caught the girl muttering asking about her name, and with how distraught she looked based upon her playing with the hem of her shirt, she must've mentally scolded herself from not asking the Black Rose member her name. Hikari stopped herself from rolling her eyes. The child-like innocence might have been getting to her and she couldn't point her finger as to why. My name is Hikari. We'll be getting started in just a moment. Don't you worry. Hikari looked around at the hospital, taking in the architecture from what she could see of the building and deducing a plan. Looking at the smaller girl once again, she hesitated upon this request before asking, Vesta,
I know the hospital has been evacuated but I need you to scout the area before we locate the bomb. I don't expect a single casualty. If someone questions you, mention that you are a wizard sent by the magic coucil.
Summoning a bit of magic within her palm, golden sparkles were surrounding her palm. She tapped Vesta on the head and it caused magic to surround her for a moment before dimming and becoming invisible. With that enchantment,
you can contact me from any distance. Let me know if you require assistance. I'll be there the minute that I can.
Hikari would smile at the girl, attempting to reassure her that she would do fine.

Hikari calmed her breathing once again before summoning an angel, a small blonde girl who would begin devoutly praying. The prayers began to Hikari glow with power as she threw a seed into the ground. An enormous golden tree had sprouted up and based on where Hikari had calculated, the tree would be able to empower Vesta and herself from no matter where they were in the hospital. After the tree had completely grown, the holy mage summoned a chalice above their head and Vesta's, which would tip over slowly and pour a red liquid. The liquid was able to strengthen the pair more so that fights that were potentially to come would be smoother and more in their favour preferably. After all, the Black Rose member wasn't one to play fair in fights. Deciding she would be rather safe than sorry, the noblewoman decided to apply one last enhancement. With a flash of gold, a harp had appeared in the woman's hands. Plucking the strings delicately to create a soft melody that would flow through the area, providing boosts to her and Vesta no matter how far they strayed from the harp after it was able to play for itself. With her eyes glowing gold, due to all the magic usage at the moment, she looked at Vesta, once again ignoring the negativity she was feeling again, Don't worry. You've got this.

WIRED UP TO DETONATE ★ private, job, hikari WIjlryD

    Vesta Guildless C-Rank

The graceful young redhead introduced herself and tell her not to worry about the fact they would be getting started soon. This helped the little witch away from her embarrassment from not remembering to ask for her name. Which she was glad for, she hated when people made fun of her for doing stupid little things like that, even if everybody made the same kind of mistakes some people picked on others for doing so. It wasn't as bad when they were just doing it playfully, not trying to do genuine harm, but when they were that was what bothered the guildless mage. She didn't like it when people were trying to be intentionally mean to others, when there was no reason for doing so, though she has gotten more used to it at this point. This world wasn't a very nice one, it wasn't one for the easily offended and hurt, those of which that showed such tended to be the victims of this worlds cruel games. At least this regal woman, Hikari as she introduced herself as, seemed ladylike and well mannered, it doesn't seem as if she is a person that would want to hurt others. Though really that is for time to tell, she can't really get her whole personality out of her on their first meeting. Especially since Vesta isn't the most experienced with people or reading them to see how they actually feel instead of how they say they feel.
The girl was torn away from her thoughts, that of which she got lost in, in only a matter of movements between the requip mage's one sentence and the next. Her curious green gaze looked up at the young woman's fair complexion as she spoke. She nodded at Hikari's request, she was glad that she was being taken seriously, she was worried that her job partner wouldn't take a child helping them very nicely. That they weren't getting proper help because it was a nine year old. It wasn't very nice to be judged by her age, that she couldn't to the same things that older people could do. Magic wise at least, she wasn't very talented in combat, though her staff could be used as a weapon if needed. She hadn't bothered asking anyone to teach her how to do so, she didn't want to inconvenience anyone by using up their time in a way that wouldn't even benefit then. Unless she somehow got enough jewels to get lessons. Though she supposed she could ask her mother, but she felt bad troubling her with anything more then she already had to deal with. Though that was part of a parent's job to help their children, she didn't like to ask for help, she was a rather independent girl.
Vesta watched as she summoned golden colored magic within the palm of her fair colored hand. It was entrancing to watch, she was unaware of what she was doing but didn't try and stop her as she lightly tapper her forehead. The nine year old felt the spot that was enchanted with her delicate fingers, barely being able to able to see the light as it faded away. The girl continued to stay silent as the mage appeared to summon an angelic figure who appeared to be praying. Then seeds were thrown into the ground, and magically it grew into a large golden tree. Then, the redhead summoned another enchantment, a goblet tipped over them, pouring a red liquid over them. Lastly, the holy mage summoned a harp within her grasp with a flash of gold, she'd proceed to watch her play a melodic tune upon it's magical strings. She felt a bit more enhanced, she felt the effects that all the enchantments casted. A giddy little smile appeared on her expression, but she quickly wiped it away, it wasn't very professional. She looked at the noblewoman, who's eyes glowed gold like her magic, that of which was absolutely beautiful to witness.
"Alright" the witch said in response, she would then do as asked and scout the area. When she turned and walked a distance from the regal young woman, she would proceed to removed her key from her neck. Dangling it from a finger in front of herself, she would start to chant, a large golden circle appearing beneath her feet as she did so. Key that hides the power of the dark, show your true form before me. I, Vesta, command you under our contract. Release! after she did so, the key would proceed to do as commanded. It would grow in length and it's size in total. The head of it continued to resemble a bird, the end of it turned from looking like a key to the red and golden butt of the sealing wand. Lastly she'd firmly grab onto the pink shaft of it as it grew to it's full size, she'd twirl it about then stand straight with it in hand. Doing so perfectly, as she previous practiced countless times, she'd hate the day that she got that wrong. She'd especially hate to make a fool of herself in front of Hikari, if she was watching, which she didn't need to be doing. Vesta didn't bother seeing if she was, and she continued to move on, doing as previously instructed by the holy wizardess.
