The wind bites against Haley's face, the howls of the blizzard stronger than any fire blazes. The blanket was vast, like the clouds themselves descend to cover the earth's surface. Haley looked beyond the horizon.

'Just a bit more...' Haley muttered, daring not to open her mouth as frost tasted her lips as the fairy clutches her winter clothes tightly, the cloth in a furious struggle to escape her chilly grasp. Her boots sunk deeper and deeper into the snow. The girl was used to Seven's winter,
but never was there ever a storm as bone chilling and skin tearing as this.

'Is... is... Yes! YES!' Haley picked up her pace, now longer trudging but instead desperately grasping for the location. There is was. Haley broke past the winds and panted. The howling stopped, the cold no longer bite like ants, the sun was in the sky. Behind her, Haley saw the swirling storm that kept outsiders from even penetrating the snow. A landmark was her beacon of hope in this winter wonderland. A stone spire stuck out like a black mass in a clear field of white which was snow. On it, the symbol of the Black Rose reflected the sun's rays in its smooth granite as Haley approached the spire. This was the sign of a beginning. The beginning of her trial.

Haley slowly went on her knees before the spire, a tradition of where she lived. To pray before a trial. Clasping her hands together, she stares into the ground, closing her eyes and lifts her hands. After a minute, she lifts herself to her feet and reads the cravings. The poem was quite straight forward.

In the land of ice and snow,
become one with the winds that blow.
For in the blizzard you shall go,
to the home of where crystals glow.
    Become vinr with yourself,
and taking flight with the wolf.

Haley has however no idea what vinr means. All she could gather, was to find a crystal cave in the blizzard. Haley looked up. The winds have surrounded them. That just means the trial has begun. Haley took in a cold breath. Nothing else to do but, move on.

Haley once found herself lost, the winds stinging like a swarm of bees. Her winter clothes had blown off after so much trekking, for what seems like ages. The fairy was cold and barely able to move. The girl looked desperately for some sort of salvation, no matter how bleak.

Once again did the miracles happen, from the fog of swirling snow was a light, a glow of orange. No one lived in Vintermyr but Haley immediately felt invigorated, a boost to her tired steps. Wrapping herself up more, she proceeds towards the light, it was probably her only way to survive the cold, assuming she does the survive part of the trial.

Haley throws her freezing body into the cave, a lone torch was her only heat source. Looking around, the barren wasteland of the snow was empty as the eyes could see. The fatelines do not show anything either. There was nothing out there for her. Haley sighed and begun her reflection. In this time a song would play in her head. The song according to her father, reflected the serenity of the moon and its beauty.
Haley looked towards the sky, joking to herself that perhaps the moon would be in view even though it clearly is a huge storm outside.

Well Haley had to smile, the moon was in the sky, gazing down upon the land she trekked on a few moments ago, with clouds lazily drifting by the glowing orb in the sky. Haley sighed and watch her breath freeze in the air. It did not seem cold suddenly. Haley touched her skin and pulled away. Guess something warmed her a bit. Haley's eyes stared into the fog, the howling winds frightening. The fate lines show nothing. Then her eyes turned towards the cave she is in, and the fate lines lead her in. The lines never lie. Haley took in a deep breath, feeling her throat sting with cold and grabbed the torch. Onward is her only direction after in this point of no return.

The way was dark, her front and back a void of nothingness with only knowledge of the icy floor beneath her feet and a roof of frozen icicles thicker than stakes but sharper than knives. Her heartbeat increases as all she has was a dying torch. The walk was ages with nothing but ice and more ice. Haley's mind raced with thoughts of failure, that she will not be alive to see the daylight ever again. Perhaps she would become a spirit of the Vintermyr, a reminder that those who fail will suffer death. Haley shook her head at the grim thought. Not today.

Haley then bumps into something soft. At least it felt soft. The outer layer felt rigid and like messy hair, with locks and knots. It also felt cold and wet. Haley noticed the lights went out, and her torch was a stick with a frozen end. Throwing it aside, she gazes towards the glowing orbs of blue. Haley could see a sense of respect, a sense of strength. It also showed that this was going to be her final battle. Haley reaching for her knives, the orbs turn red. The shadowy figure roared and Haley's hands moved away quickly and tumbled back. As her back pressed against the wall, she stopped. The Pooka could feel what was a dozen spikes against her back, a bit more pressure and it would puncture her. Icy serpentine creatures surrounded her body. Haley then looked in horror. Those were plants not reptiles. The magician needs an escape plan.

Haley then glimpsed hope. At the hind leg of the shadow with the glowing orbs was a hole, large enough for a person, too small for such a large creature. It seemed to guard it with a lot intent and vigor, seeing how any of Haley's attempt to approach was cut off by its aggression. Haley thought back to what her dad would say. Always be ready to face your fears. Hope instilled, Haley made a run for it, and slid into the hole, the shadow's biting echoed as Haley descended down the tunnel in a slide.

So there she was. A large wolf with its body and head rested against the only green Haley has ever seen in the Vintermyr. It raised its head, and got on to its feet before bowing at Haley. The girl returned and watched the wolf approach her calmly. Suddenly the winds picked up around them, swirling in a mystical white and there they were, outside the Silver Moon Inn. They could hear cheering.
