If you succeed, the path towards your salvation shall reveal itself before you... as will the reward.” Unsigned and written by the hand of a mysterious man, you somehow feel compelled for whatever reason to test out this curious request and head towards the forest you think fits this description best. Enemies:
- Weak: The Vengeful Trees:
Trees that have been corrupted by a lack of sunlight and being exposed to evil ethernano have turned against both the forest’s inhabitants and visitors. They will try to foil attempts of the player to use their vines, spread mucus and slime on their branches to make the players slip, and will purposely break their branches if the user wishes to scale a corrupted tree. Note that not all trees are like this, but they become more common the deeper players venture within the forest. Vengeful trees are easily recognised by their darker bark, yet with the shadows that linger within spooky forest, you’ll need a keen eyesight in order to see the difference with the regular trees.
- Normal: The Wenn:
Minions of the Wennbar, who scavenge the edges of the forest for prey and wanderers that dared venture in too far. Their spit is paralyzing, and once bitten the player will be unable to move for one post. Bitten twice, the player will fall unconscious, and can only be pre-emptively be awakened by a healing spell. Bitten three or more times, the player will remain paralyzed until their partner can find the right plant (this can be anything the player wishes for, but is native only to Spooky forest and not well-known) to undo the paralysis.
- Strong: The Wennbar:
The Wennbar is a huge creature somewhat resembling a quadrupedal sauropod dinosaur. It has a large head with a wide mouth full of sharp teeth and an extendable neck that can stretch up to grab birds from the air or prey from treetops. When its neck is extended, the baggy folds of skin around its neck smooth out to allow the neck to attain its full reach. Its body is compared to "a gigantic rotting fruit" and it gives off a foul odor. It is very aggressive, even towards its lesser kin, the Wenn, and will gladly eat them if they cannot provide him with the proper sacrifices on daily bases. The Wennbar doesn’t come out till dusk and shuns the daylight greatly; it resides within a cave during the day and will venture towards a certain spot in the forest every day after dusk to collect its tributes. It’ll go haywire if its tributes prove too small. Its skin is hard, yet has weak spots on the lower side of his belly, and on top of its head. In order to find the Wennbar, the player must either follow the Wenn unnoticed, or become bait and allow themselves to be taken to the place where the Wennbar receives its tribute. The Wenn will leave the tribute and retreat 10 to 15 minutes before the Wennbar appears, but will stay in the vicinity in case the Wennbar demands more.
- Boss: The Lost Knight, Withick:
Once a glorious knight of a famous order, now an iron will in golden armor, tainted by malice and greed. Withick slew his brethren in order to keep the Nectar of Youth to himself, and swore an oath that only he would be allowed to claim its nectar were the flowers to bloom once more. Anyone who knew of this has fallen before the might of the Golden Knight, all until the legend of the Nectar of Youth was forgotten by the world. He remembers naught of the outside world or his previous life, only that he was to defend the Nectar and keep it to himself. Withick will deem all you tell him of the outside world as lies, and sees the players as thieves only there for the Nectar of Youth. He is weak to the light, both magical and natural. Originally no magic user, the malice and greed have corrupted the knight to such an extent that he developed magic of dark nature; each of his strikes carry an extend of dark magic within them, and can reach as far as instant spells could (up to the highest mage’s rank in distance). Withick has as much HP as all players combined in order to be defeaten.
Reward: 18K, B-rank EXP, an opal gem for each player, and access to the next job in the series.
