An unexpected drinking companion Frederick, Gangting Social [Open]

Gangting was staring into his ale. He was deep in his thought about getting a home, staying all the time in taverns wasn't cheap and sleeping always in tents is neither something to look forward to. Should I rent a house? or should.. Nah, a guild is nothing for me. He took a sip of his ale and looked around the tavern. There were a couple of people there but it wasn't that crowded. Music filled the room from out of a magical music box. Gangting made a sigh, They even replaced the singers and musicians? Though Gangting, who realised he had never encountered any singer in this era. For a moment he stared at the tavern door, hoping that someone would enter the estate and walk to the bar, where he sits. Gangting emptied his drink and ordered a new one. 'Can I get another one?' He said.

'make that two please'

Appearing next to Gangting was a rather enigmatic stranger. Not that he was such a mysterious entity, but just like the slayer himself this man wasn't really clad for any modern establisment. Instead of any casual or mundane attire, the stranger was wearing a black colored battle armor along with a long cloak that dragged behind him. He wasn't as largely build as Gangting but it was obviously clear that this man had seen his fair share of battles.

'Oh and they're on me' continued Dahau while throwing a small bag of jewels on the counter. Which caused a small flicker of light in the overweights bartenders eyes, as he knew that bag contained more jewels than his ale was actually worth. So it was to no surprise that he hastily grabbed the money with his greasy paws. Dahau on the other hand was already focussing again on his apparent drinking buddy, 'So, stranger' he said while maintaining a conceited smirk on his face 'What is on your mind?'

A voice that appeared out of nowhere startled Gangting a bit. He had just looked through the room and when he turned back to the bar he had heard no sound of a new person entering the establishment. "Thank you, that's generous of you." Said Gangting after he heard that the new person bought his drink. Gangting took a short moment to take the measurement of the new one. A warrior and a mage. where Gangting thoughts, A very strong one. Gangting could feel the magic power within the individual.

"I ought to tell you my name first before I share my thought." Said Gangting as he accepted the pull of ale. "My name is Gangting and I am the king of Duoshang... well I was 10.000 years ago. Don't challenge gods.." Said Gangting and ended up in a loud laughter.

"I'm thinking about getting my own residence, might even join my self a guild." Said Gangting with a serious voice. "What brings you to this town if I may ask?" He raised his glass in a toast and took a sip.

It wasn't to long after Ruvel had finished a task and decided that he would contact his guild to let them know the task in question was done and that he was heading back, that was until he felt his hood being grabbed and being dragged backwards before he even knew what was going on "W-wait!" he called out struggling to stay where he was but given his fragile form that wasn't happening so moved to create a dagger of light in his hand. It was then he looked up and seen the 7'3" blood covered, brick wall of a summon "B-Barthenz?!" he seemed more than a little surprised dropping the dagger it instantly vanishing as it left his hand. It was then he moved his hand to try get his hood free of the other's hand "Let me go and tell me what's going on" he protested but it fell on the deaf ears of his summon as he moved into a nearby pub dropping his young summoner on the floor.

"Gah!" he let out looking up from the floor still confused as he looked around, still trying to make sense of the situation. "Barthenz where are we and why are we here?" he asked starting to stand up dusting off his white hakama. "We're in a bar, I want a drink" he said bluntly making Ruvel blink at the unexpected answer "Don't you have alcohol in your home realm?" he asked wondering why he would want a drink in this place "Well of course we do you idiot, but this is your home... I'm in your service so I may as well start trying things of this realm." he said crossing his arms. Again the young summoner was caught off guard by the answer, he couldn't exactly argue with the larger males logic so nodded "Okay..." his eyes then started to look around for exits, hiding spots, vantage points and the likes he wasn't one who liked to be caught off guard.

Barthenz took Ruvel's arm and marched up to the bar "You're paying by the way." the larger man stated in a matter fact way. Ruvel knew that within Barthenz's realm everything was done via trade so there was no real currency, he could have argued given their contract terms were solid but he knew better than to argue as it never turned out well for him. It was then at the other end of the bar he seen him, the man that he had first met in Oak Town and had destroyed most of it trying to obtain him. To this day he had no idea who the man was or why he was so interested in him but at the same time he didn't want to stay around and ask. "Barthenz, can we go to another bar? Please?" his voice seemed anxious so perked the warriors interest who started to look around the bar and seen why Ruvel was so nervous "Ah, I see." he said with a grin "Nope we're staying right here." he looked at the bartender "Ale and..." he looked to Ruvel who sighed "Water please." he said putting a bag of jewel on the bar "Might as well keep that and open a tab, I have a feeling it's going to be a long night" Ruvel said watching as Barthenz took his tankard to take a drink.

Gangtings introduction was rather cryptic. The man spoke of a time long ago and even facing the gods. Things you normally would discard as words from a madman. However they did live in a world filled and brimming with magic, and considering the strange things Dahau had seen during his lifetime, there was probably some sort of truth in Gangtings words. Yet that wasn't what caught Dahau's ear, no it was the first part that peeked his interest. It seemed that he was dealing with royalty here, or at least someone who profoundly proclaimed himself to be.

'A a guild huh' replied Dahau 'well then, this might be your lucky day. Because that is exactly why I am here'

Talonia was the place for every guildless mage to gather. Here those who didn't align themselves with the legal, dark or neutral associations in this world, got together in a remote city. It became so populair among the guildless that they even had their own arena. And it was because of this arena and their allegiance to no one that Dahau ventured into this town. In fact he did so every now then. He wandered around town, witnessed the fighting mages and concluded if anyone was a good fit for his guild. Yes he was here as a recruiter, Dahau tried to find the best of the best in order to strengthen his guild.
Unfortunately he didn't had much luck today, the arena proved to be fruitless. Not a single capable mage worthy of his attention. At least not until he sensed the presence of someone peculiar in this bar.

'My name is Dahau' he continued 'And I am here looking for capable mages, much as yourself, willing to join up with my guild.'

Dahau stopped in the middle of his next sentence as he locked eyes with a rather familiar face sitting on the other side of the bar. Another largely build man, this one entirely covered in scars and blood soaked rags. Someone with crazed eyes even if he was just enjoying his drink. 'Well look at that' he said with a loud voice, 'you two care to join us for a drink?!'

'Well met Dahau.' Said Gangting with a nod of approval, he liked the sound of the name. Gangting wanted to give a reply but Dahau called for some other people. He looked across the bar, checking whom Dahau was referring too. One caught Gangtings eyes immediately, he was larger as his companion and besides that. He was covered in a red dye, at least he assumed it was dye. The other fellow seemed to been trying to fade away from their few. He kept watching them, to see if they came or not while he gave his reply to Dahau.

'You're a guild master then?' Asked Gangting, somewhat blunt as he took another measurement of Dahau. He seemed powerful enough though Gangting, but why would he do the recruiting? 'What guild..' He paused for a moment and continued again before Dahau could answer, 'Is it a strong one?' He took another sip from his beer waiting for his answers and on the strangers on the other end of the bar.

Ruvel looked to the barman for a moment as the glass of water was placed in front of him, he looked nervous but given whom he was dragged into the bar by he didn't blame the man "Don't worry, he just wants to drink so he won't start trouble..." he said trying to put the mans mind at ease but there was doubt at the back of his mind as he had no idea what Barthenz was like when he had been drinking. 'He couldn't be any worse than he normally is.' he thought to himself but again it was something he had yet to see the warrior outside of battle. "Barthenz, please can we go after that one? I need to get back Cirven will worry if I'm late we both know it." he said trying to reason with the taller male but it seemed to fall on deaf ears, at this point he didn't even care about severely over paying for the drink he was just afraid of the other elder male after the destruction of Oak town on their first meeting.

"Kid, I've already said we're staying; if Sparky has an issue with it he can take it up with me." he continued putting the tankard down "Besides he wants you to start interacting with people." he added looking to his young summoner with crimson orbs "I doubt that person is what he had in mind Barthenz, he destroyed a town!" he sighed, his eyes going wide as the taller man picked him up by the scruff of his neck barely giving him enough time to pick up his glass of water. "Barthenz, put me down!" he demanded looking at the other now eye to eye thanks to being lifted "I can walk by myself" he continued it was obvious he wasn't happy about just happened but at the same time there wasn't exactly a lot he could do to the other. "Knowing you, you'd walk out and as we know right now I'm draining your energy meaning if you wander off I go back home." he corrected making Ruvel sigh, the youth couldn't argue on it as he was thinking about sneaking off.

"Just don't destroy the place Barthenz last thing I need is a bill" he commented as the warrior picked up his tankard and walked towards the one who had invited them to join them keeping Ruvel held by his collar. For a summoner he had absolutely no control over his summon that was obvious. Once they got to the other end of the bar Barthenz dropped Ruvel who fell on the floor, Ruvel who barely had enough time to cover the top of the glass to prevent the water spilling out as fell wincing. "Will you stop treating me like I'm a bag Barthenz! I'm liable to get hurt!" he protested but he sighed as again he noticed it fell on deaf ears. "Well met again." Barthenz said looking at Dahau lifting his tankard in a toast to the other, his crimson orbs looking to the other that sat beside him paying little mind to Ruvel who had stood up and dusted himself off before going to a booth nearby allowing the three men to talk.

Yet another individual was set to join the Soul Bar this night. Raizo sauntered in, holding an old beat up Ukulele in one hand and a cigarette in the other. He took a long draw from his smoke while straightening his black tie, and smoothed out the blue jacket he wore over a yellow shirt. He approached the bar with a smile, and addressed the bartender.

"Good evening my friend!" He said, glancing around the bar. Only a few lonely bodies with far too little alcohol in them sat around, and most of them were at the bar. He hadn't really paid attention to most of their conversation since he walked in, but remembered noting an impressive amount of magical energy coming from three of them. "I'll take a pint." He said, laying a few jewels down on the counter. The bartender seemed to have expected more for some reason. Maybe people around here had a habit of overpaying. Regardless he filled a vessel and placed it on the bar.

Raizo took the glass in his hand and drained it with a few chugs. He then produced a marker from his pocket and wrote "t-I-p-s" on the side. "I can't help but notice you have a severe lack of customers. Allow me to help you out there." The bartender looked taken aback.

"Excuse me?" He looked as if one wrong move could make him snap at this insult, but Raizo had already walked away from the bar. Without hesitation he shut off the magic music box that had previously filled the room with music, and started tuning his Ukulele. A few strums ensured that it was properly in-tune, and Raizo began to play without so much as a question of permission.

"Well a wizards days are long.
A mages days are filled with jobs.
To make his jewels his work don't stop
So he wrote a mages drinking song.

A fairy tail mage is known near and far
Lamia scale's knowledge does boast itself
Blue Pegasus has power on the shelf
And many fear Sabertooth's roar

Now guilds compete and guilds fight long
They clamber and slaughter for their right to rule
They answer to the magic council's call
but all sing a mages drinking song!"

His voice was sweet, and it was clear he was used to being on stage. Sure enough, as if on que, a man popped his head into the bar to see where the music was coming from. He decided to stay and listen, bringing his few friends with them. All ordered drinks and took seats at a table. This seemed to put the bartender's mind at ease, and he went back to cleaning glasses. Steadily the numbers in the bar began to grow.
