The reason i hate Vulcans (C rank job for Kaisto, Astrid and Lucius)

The slayer arrived a few seconds after Lucius, having fallen behind slightly as the motion sickness from the train ride finally caught up with her. Her red eyes glazed over and her skin turning almost white Astrid wobbled in place as she leaned the side of her small frame onto her brother, using a hand to grab onto his shirt so she would not fall onto the ground from the spinning sensation while she used the other to cup over her mouth, swallowing back a vile feeling of vomit in the back of her throat.
Ever since the incident with Izayuki she had gained motion sickness, making it almost impossible to use fast means of transportation without wanting to throw up her guts. This was very inconvenient, seeing how much she relied on the train to take her from place to place. She would have to figure out a better way of going from place to place... Or have to deal with the consequences of the motion sickness.
She removed her hand from her mouth, feeling the sickness retreat to the bottom of her body. The musician, though looking very much like a dying ghost, still tried offered the brown haired man a and smile and greeting, her forehead still holding some drops of sweat from trying her best to hold everything in..
"H-Hey... Kai-" she cut herself off, placing her hand back over her mouth as the sickness came back quickly, holding onto Lucius' shirt again tightly to make sure she wouldn't lose her balance as she could feel the world around her begin to spin once more.

Though comforting the rubs upon her back from her brother didn't help very much with the horrible sickness itself. It was only after Kaisto placed his hand upon her forehead did she start to feel better. The sluggish and numbing feeling instantly drained out of her body and she regained her strength, releasing her brother's hoodie from her grip as her arms fell back to her side, once again able to stand up straight.
With her color slowly returning to her skin she blinked up to Kaisto curiously as he expressed his hated for Vulcans. Vulcans... She had heard of those before in a children's book she read when she was younger. Very big, ape-like creatures that liked snatching up women. There were apparently different kinds of them, but they all seemed to have the same weird purpose.
"All Vulcans enjoy kidnapping women, no matter what kind they are" she informed the slayer. "We could be dealing with any species." She just hoped it would be something like a Wood Vulcan. Though strong compared to other common creatures they were one of the weakest Vulcans.
Astrid shivered slightly, remembering the stories of kidnapped women who escaped the grasp of Vulcans. She hoped she wouldn't become one of them...

Her gazed picked up from Kaisto to Lucius as he asked the question before looking back to the slayer, raising an eyebrow in question. Why did Kai hate them so much? From his words its like he despised the creatures. Not that she could blame him, what they did was far from moral. But from his words it was like he had more reason than a disagreement of nature to not like them.

She hadn't expected such a intense answer. She could understand the hatred, but saying they needed to be wiped from the earth? She had never heard Kaisto say such a thing.
Her expression turning worried as she realized they had touched upon a sensitive topic for the boy she was tempted to reach her hand out to try and pat him on the shoulder as a sign of comforting, though the gesture was quickly cut off from her thought as the dragon slayer seemed to push the past behind him and shoved the job paper into their faces. Allowing her brother to read the details off first she took it from him as he handed it over. The first half looked fine as she scanned the paper carefully. However, only once she reached the bottom of the job did she understand what they were really in for.
"Gah-!" her mouth gaped open and eyes widened in shock, glasses sliding on a tilt to the edge of her nose.
"M-Mountain Vulcans?!" Those were the types Kaisto was describing. White furred, giant, able to speak in loose sentences. She had heard those were one of the toughest if not the toughest kinds of Vulcans. If the lady truly had been snatched up by her... Well they better hope she was still alive.

"A lot of mages lose their lives to those things..." Her red gaze looked up to the two sheepishly, a wave of unnerving numbness swallowing her body.
"Are you sure we're really up for this kind of job?"

They were fighting. Again. It seemed whenever the two men were even in eyesight of each other they somehow always managed to get angry for no other reason than being in the other's presence. Every mission, every outing, they always fought about something at least once. Even the tiniest thing. Such as, in this case, a misunderstanding.
She was going to let this little feud pass like all the rest, waiting until it sizzled down back into the hostile glares. But then Lucius had proceeded to bend the slayer's fingers back and lift him from the ground. This was not normal. Their fights had never truly gone as far as physical contact before. It had evolved into something Astrid had feared.
Panicking and scared he may actually try and do some very bad damage to the Black Rose mage Astrid stepped forward, hands ready to flinch forward in case she needed to reach out to her brother to calm him.
"H-Hey... Lucius!" she shouted to him, hoping that's all it would take to snap him out of his angered state, red eyes wide. But then, after whispering something quietly to the boy he let him drop back to the ground.
Kneeling down to the dragon slayer's fallen height her hands hovered next to the boy, ready to help him. She scanned him over, trying to see if the guildless mage had done any damage to him.
"Kai... Are you okay? How is your finger?" she asked worryingly, noticing how painful and loud the snap had been.

Looking back up to Lucius her cheeks puffed out with slight annoyance, her eyes narrowed.
"That wasn't necessary, Lulu. You could have really hurt him. Even if he was a little over the top that was mean."
She then looked back down to Kaisto, holding the same expression "and you. What Lulu said was just a comment, you're the one that took it the wrong way and made a scene."
The mothering side of Astrid had been activated, scolding them as though they were her sons.
They were both in the wrong, and the faster they could make up the faster they could save the girl. They were running out of time, they couldn't waste it by bickering.
"Apologize, both of you."

Good. With that out of the way they could focus on the mission ahead.
Crimson eyes scanning watchfully over the two as they apologize she waited until the both finished before standing up to her normal height, arms crossed over each other as a small smile graced her pale lips, expression turning soft and eyes gleaming.
"See? Now was that so hard?" the musician cooed, any sign of her former anger melting away to be replaced with a bright happy aura. She wasn't sure if their apologizes were genuine or not but she assumed it would keep them from killing each other at least for now. If they started threatening each other again she would be sure to give them a proper scolding.
Having been to Magnolia only a few times for random odd jobs and such Astrid nodded her head as her brother offered to lead them, unfamiliar of where exactly they were supposed to be heading. From the paper, if she remembered correctly, it was the East Forest, where ever that was. Now that they knew what kind of Vulcan they were dealing with there was no need to visit the client. If they stopped to learn info they already knew those were precious minutes lost that they could be spending searching for his daughter. Astrid didn't want to think of what would happen if they were late...
Standing to the side the musician would allow Lucius to pass by her for when he was ready to lead, offering the tall boy her signature smile.

It didn't take long for the three to reach the dense Eastern Woods. Though Astrid usually enjoyed nature a lot as soon as she stepped upon the path leading to the entrance she felt this overwhelming aura of unease, thick and sticky, like it was grasping at her throat. It wasn't as bad as motion sickness, but it sure wasn't any better.
Knowing backing out now wasn't an option she continued to follow her brother into the dark woods slightly behind him, hovering around his side as her crimson optics scanned every tree and bush they came by to make sure no enemies could surprise attack them. She had a bad feeling about it all.
It felt like they were being watched. The musician couldn't help but feel tiny eyes continuing to stare at them, but when she would turn her head around there would be nothing there but the rustling of leaves.
As Lucius warned her to stay close she nodded
"O-Okay- AH!" the mage let out a loud yelp as she felt something brush against her leg. She instinctively jumped and grabbed Lucius' arm, squeezing it tightly with fear. But when she looked down, rising her leg upwards so she could peer down to it, there seemed to be no trace of anything. Not a scratch, or even a mark upon the ground.
"S-Sorry" she looked back up to Lucius, allowing her powerful grasp to loosen slightly, offering an apologetic and nervous smile.
"Probably just my nerves."
Letting go of her brother's arm she inhaled a small breath before letting it back out slowly, trying to calm the tense nerves balled up in the center of her chest. This forest was starting to get to her. It was probably the wind, or a small woodland creature. It was nothing to worry about. They just had to focus on finding the client's daughter.
But... For some reason she felt a little lighter than usual. Like something that had been weighing her down normally was no longer there...
Reaching her hand to feel behind her back she instantly noticed it was not touching her violin case.
"Huh?" she hummed questioningly, craning her neck over her shoulder to try and see it. But it wasn't there. The pink and stickered case was no longer strapped around her back like it normally was.
"E-EH?!" Astrid's eyes widened, beginning to twirl in a circle as she tried even harder to look behind her back, convincing herself she wasn't looking hard enough. She remembered taking it on this mission, like she did on all of them. There was no way she would leave such a precious instrument at home. That just wasn't like her. Anyone close to her would confirm she was very close with it, almost never taking if off, even to go shopping. Leaving it at home would be like leaving behind a piece of her soul. Even with her spacey nature her violin was just something she never forgot.
"W-Where is Vieille?!"

Something within the slayer's mind broke, watching with widened crimson eyes as she witnessed her precious violin case being tossed about by the group of eight troubling demons. From one to another they would throw it, then catch it within their clawed grasp, snarling and shrieking, dancing and hopping. But what got her the most, was the sound. The sounds of the fighting going on from behind her seemed to drown out of her hearing, replaced solely with the very soft sounds of the violin scratching and knocking against the case every time one of them threw it. The cry of her violin. It was... Crying...
Her fist flexed before clenching, feeling a sudden, strange surge of emotions within her begin to consume the feeling of her body, hot and tingly.
They were hurting her violin. No... Her baby. The most precious thing to her.
Cutting a favorite dress of her's might have been one thing, but now something that actually was not so easily replaceable was being tossed around like some worthless piece of junk? Those boss imps didn't know how merciful she had been.

A silver glow was quick to consume Astrid whole. But this glow was different from the usual. Unlike what seemed to be an aura normally this glow was like fire, licking off of the musician feverishly. To the touch, this flame-like aura would most likely scorch anything alive, or at least leave a very bad burn. It seemed to be burning with eminence heat. And yet, Astrid did not seem effected by this. In fact, she seemed completely fine, completely unaffected by the aura radiating off of her body.
Crimson eyes began narrowing slowly into a burning gaze that matched the fire-like quality of the aura around her, teeth clenching together roughly. This expression was not like the normal, sweet Astrid at all. She had been replaced, with something entirely different.
Schwing.
Something suddenly priced one of the demons within the group, causing a high pitched scream of pain before it laid face down upon the ground a few seconds later, shivering as it began to bleed out from the oozing wound upon its chest. The other demons stopped suddenly, wrinkled faces filled with a sudden fear.
Before they could react, another one of their comrades let out a terrified yell before also falling to the ground from the same wound. Five sharp claw marks raked across his face, oozing the same red substance. The six remaining demons dropped the violin case to the ground, staring at the dead bodies with wide expressions before scampering away... But by then it was too late. A large silver blur smacked into each and every one of them, causing them to fall to the ground, letting out surprised squeaks and noises. Before they could even gather their senses a foot would slam powerfully into the ground before them, causing the tribe demons to look up slowly, laying their eyes upon the angered violinist.
"... Which one of you would like to die first?" She rumbled out darkly, allowing her light-covered clawed fingertips to drip with the dead demon's blood, causing the crimson liquid to pool at her side.
"Or i guess, in this case... Third."
