Wolfe still hadn’t gained any of his memories back but despite this he had decided to start moving forward and would just hope that at some point they would return back to him. In the meantime he would continue doing the things he had been taught since his return to the guild, and one of those things was to perform his duties as the Head of Destruction for the guild. In this case he was to help one of his guild mates with their exam to rank up.
Wolfe left a note for Jozuma to meet him on an island in the middle of the ocean area just off the coast of Fiore. Wolfe took a seat on a large rock on the beach as he waited for his guild mate to meet him to begin his exam on this sunny day.
Jozuma woke up in the guild to find a note left by Wolfe, it said to meet with him on an island of the coast of Fiore. Jozuma hadn't really spoke to Wolfe much since his return but he was still the Ace and Ace's orders were orders so Jozuma traveled to the destination in the note not quite sure what to expect. The journey to the island took some time and the boat trip was appalling as he had to suffer from his motion sickness the whole way through. "Ugh this sucks." When the boat finally arrived to the island Jozuma let got off almost immediately and set foot on the island. "Thank you freedom! Now wheres Wolfe." Jozuma wandered around the island for a good while until finally spotting the lightning man himself sitting on large rock by the beach. Jozuma waved as he approached Wolfe, catching his attention, and spurred the big question when he walked up to him. "Hey Wolfe! So mind telling me what we're doing here?"
Wolfe saw as the man walked up and he recognized him as one of the ones there when he had shown up at the guild’s front door only a short period of time ago. As Jozuma walked up Wolfe motioned for him to come over to the rock. As he he reached the rock Wolfe stood up and looked down at his guild mate ”Hello. I am glad you could make it. We are here today to get your exam underway to get you to B rank. This test will include two parts. The first I will explain now, the second will be explained once the first has been finished.” Wolfe jumped down from his rock and started walking away from the water’s edge towards the edge of the beach where the beach met the grass.
When Wolfe reached the edge of the beach he turned to face Jozuma again ”Ok, well the first part, is that there are three mages on this island. One earth, one wind, and one water. You are to find and fight each of them. After you have found all three and defeated them. You are return here. They are friends of mine, and they will give you a good fight, however, your are not to kill them or you will fail this exam. Once this is done, you will be given the next part of your exam. Good Luck.” Wolfe gave a nod and motioned for the mage to begin.
---------------------------- The first part is for you to fight the 3 mages mentioned above. As normal, you have control of them. They are all considered a strong C ranked Mage. Not push overs, but not too strong. this section will require 1500 words minimum to complete. Good Luck
Wolfe jumped from the rock he was on and explained to Jozuma that he was called to this island today to take his B-Rank Exam. There were two parts to this exam and the 2nd part would be revealed later for now he explained the 1st part. Jozuma had to defeat 3 mages located somewhere on the island, one water, one wind, and one earth. “Seems simple enough, alright I’ll catch ya later then.” Jozuma left and started walking across the beach in search of the fist mage, the water mage. As an ice mage Jozuma was his natural enemy and had the advantage in such a battle so it made sense to start with that one.
Jozuma kept walking across the beach in search of the mage with the logic that where there’s water there is likely a water mage so the beach seemed to be the ideal location he would find him in. Jozuma casually treaded through the sand taking in the calming sounds of nature and the warmness of the afternoon sun before Calcifer spoke up. “Hey, you here that?” Jozuma listened carefully but could only hear seagulls and the stirring of the ocean. “What it’s just the ocean.” “No I’ve been only listening to ocean the whole time you were out on that boat this is different.” Jozuma turned to see the a huge tendril of water arise from the ocean with a man sitting on top of it. The man waved to Jozuma and spoke. “Hello, you must be Wolfe’s guildmate. It’s seems I’ll be your first opponent so let’s get your Exam started.” More tendrils arose from the water and all started pointing towards Jozuma. The white of Jozuma’s eyes turned black as he prepared himself for the first fight. “Let’s go then.” The tendrils fired a stream of droplets like bullets towards Jozuma. Jozuma got moving dodging the bullets as he ran towards the water. The tendrils then came striking at him at high speed. Jozuma jumped over a few of then but one eventually hit him dead on, it felt having boulder being thrown at you. It certainly hurt but Jozuma took advantage of this and froze the tendril creating a frozen path directly to the water mage. Jozuma ran across the icy path towards the water who threw spinning disks of water at him in retatiation. “Icicle Wave!” Jozuma formed and ice sword and sliced the disc in half while also sending a wave of icicles in the water mage’s direction both damaging him and freezing him along with the water he was sitting on. Jozuma jumped up to the now frozen mage and landed 3 solid blows sending him flying off, Jozuma then created an ice pillar behind the mage which the mage crashed into embedding himself in it. There was now a clear opening of attack with the water mage frozen and imbedded in an ice pillar so Jozuma took a deep breath. “Ice Demon Rage!” Jozuma unleashed a blast of magic energy at the mage blasting him straight through the pillar and crashing him into the beach. The ice on him fell off but he seemed to still not be moving so Jozuma jumped back on the beach to check on him since Wolfe said that killing was a no no. Jozuma checked the mage and felt a pulse, he was just unconscious. He took this as a victory and walked further into the island to search for the other two mages.
The jungle within the island was filled with all kinds of life, palm trees rose high up in the sky and plants and animals of all kinds of shapes, colors, and sizes covered the ground. Much like the beach Jozuma found the serenity of nature quite pleasant and it kind of made him nostalgic of the forest he was raised in. The time of reminiscing was cut short however as Jozuma felt a strong wind blow through that only got stronger as he felt a presence approach closer. Jozuma looked up to see a another man, slightly younger looking than the first one, in armor descend from the sky. Like the last one he waved at Jozuma and introduced himself. “Hello there frosty, I wanted to be the one to fight you next so I came looking for ya. I saw your fight back there from the trees, very nice work. I got to warn ya though, unlike my friend back there the air itself is my domain, now let’s begin.” The wind mage created a huge whirlwind as he took off. Jozuma now couldn’t see the wind mage anywhere but could here a high whistle traveling all around the area around him. The whistle got louder as Jozuma turned and barely dodged the wind mage flying at him with a blade of condensed air. The whistle got quieter again and Jozuma saw a large cut in the ground next to him where the blade struck, he had to be careful. Jozuma found that he would be difficult to keep up with so he sprung a plan. He got nicked by another strike as the wind mage flew pass him and then he stood completely still and focused his Demon Slayer senses. If Jozuma remained still the wind mage would attempt another strike eventually, after that it was only a matter of timing. The whistling got louder again and the wind mage flew at Jozuma again with his alarming speed and Jozuma formed and ice claw around his arm; when the wind mage got close enough Jozuma struck him in the gut with his ice claw sending and wave of cold throughout the wind mage’s body and began his Demon Combo. Jozuma struck the wind mage again sending him flying up. “Ice Demon Shredder!” He then formed several jagged, curved ice blades all over his arms, legs, hands, and back and jumped at him spinning around and slashing him 6 times before landing on the ground. The wind mage fell to the ground his body inflicted with frostbite from Jozuma’s last attack. “Gr jeez that’s cold.” “No shit it’s cold I’m an ice mage remember, what you thought it’d feel toasty?” The wind mage stood up injured but still raring to fight. “Polar Hunter.” Jozuma created an spiky icy armor around his body and with playing field in speed leveled out the two charged at each other each throwing blows as fast as they could move. The high speed brawl lasted for a while before Jozuma started wearing down the wind mage. In a last ditch effort the wind mage made one final punch surrounded by wind but Jozuma dodged it and kicked the wind mage against a tree. Jozuma charged at the wind mage for another attack but he called off the fight there and Jozuma stopped just before his attack. “Ok ok you win, jeez you are a scary fellow. You’ll find the last test north of here, good luck with her she’s scary too.” Jozuma helped the man up and thanked him for the information before leaving north to search for the final mage.
Jozuma didn’t have to travel far before feeling a rumbling in the ground. Right in front of him from behind the trees a giant girl rose wearing gauntlets, towering over even the tallest tree on the island. Jozuma was completely surprised and confused of how he missed her this whole time. “How did I miss you coming here, how did I miss you the whole time I was on this island!?!?” There giant girl giggled before introducing herself. “I must be good at hiding, well I’m your last test so I better give you a run for your money can’t make your B-Exam too easy now right.” The giant girl put her fist in her hand and cracked her neck as she got ready, Jozuma got into a fighting stance with his icy armor still active. The girl threw a punch towards Jozuma which he met with his own punch. Her strength was great and Jozuma was sent back several feet. The girl then hit the ground sending walls of earth towards Jozuma. Jozuma quickly created a small ice pillar under his feet and propelled himself over the walls of ice and towards the giant girl. Once he got close enough he created a blizzard 30m in radius around both of them. After creating the blizzard Jozuma took one from the wind mage and started going back and forth attacking her and disappearing in the blizzard at high speeds. The giant girl couldn’t see Jozuma through the dense blizzard and resorted to attacking randomly but couldn’t land a blow on Jozuma as he continued to attack her from multiple directions. The giant girl then lifted her foot up , Jozuma didn’t like the look of that so he shattered his body and reformed several meters above her in the air. Her foot then smashed the ground and it exploded into spikes of earth over a wide area, Jozuma started falling from the air. “Ice Demon Rage!” During his dive he unleashed blast of magic energy directly onto her back. The giant girl looked up with an angry and annoyed look on her face and threw another punch towards Jozuma. Jozuma let out a breath of cold air and instead of challenging her punch with his own again he instead punched the air creating a crack that rippled through the air towards her fist. “CRACK!” When the crack met with her fist it ruptured her entire body causing her to finally collapse with a huge crash. Jozuma landed on to the torn apart ground, it seemed that he had won. Jozuma was starting to feel a little tired but there was still more of the exam to go so he pushed on.
Jozuma returned to the area where he had met with Wolfe and saw him waiting for him. Jozuma waved to Wolfe as he approached with a smile. “All three of them are down, what do you got for me now?” -------------------------------------------- 1682 words
Wolfe waited quietly on the beach as he knew it would take a little bit for Jozuma to find and defeat all three of the mages he had placed around the island. After some time he saw Jozuma coming back towards the beach. It was obvious he had given a good fight and won, but now he had the fun part in mind. Upon reaching him Wolfe welcomed Jozuma with a smile ”Hello, and welcome back. Congratulations on completing the first half of your exam. However, the second part I made just for you. Please step here next to if you will, and we will be on our way to your next phase.” Wolfe held out his hand in front of him, open and palm down and from the palm of his hand lightning shot down to the sand and started to spread in every direction. As the lightning hit the sand it started to melt and become fulgurite. Wolfe made it in the shape of a square about 3 meters by 3 meters. The lightning then stopped and he motioned for Jozuma to step up on it, and after he did Wolfe focused his powers and the square piece of fulgurite they were standing on began to float in the air a few feet above the ground and they then began to move away from the beach and towards the center of the island.
After a little bit they came to the base of a large mountain and they began to acend up the side of the mountain until they came to a huge hole in the side of it. Wolfe landed their interesting mode of transportation on the ledge in front of the hole and turned to face Jozuma ”Ok, your next phase of the exam lays inside. Follow the path and you will know when you have reached your goal. Come back when you’re done, and you will have passed your exam.” Wolfe gave him a nod as he motioned towards the entrance into the side of the mountain.
---------------------------------------------- Word Count Needed: 1,000 This shouldn't be too hard as this will obviously be a hard battle, and is here to help push the character to think outside the box when dealing with a powerful enemy when his magic is not at it's mot powerful.
After following the path for a few he will come to a opening. This will be the arena for the last fight. It is in a volcano. The floor is about 60% solid, made of large rocks and hardened lava, and the other 40% is random large pools and areas of still active lava. In the center you will see a fairly large, and very muscular man. He will turn to great you and when your ready he will step back and slam his fist together in front of him and he will shift into a 9-10 foot tall lava titan. He is a Strong A ranked equivalent of an opponent and uses strong close ranged melee and fire attacks. Once you beat him he will turn back into human form and thank you for a good fight.
Wolfe congratulated Jozuma on completing the first part of his exam. ”Hello, and welcome back. Congratulations on completing the first half of your exam. However, the second part I made just for you. Please step here next to if you will, and we will be on our way to your next phase.” Jozuma didn’t exactly like the sound of the next being made exclusively for him he wondered just what exactly Wolfe had in mind, well he would find out soon enough. Wolfe shot lightning towards the sand forming a fulgurite and motioned Jozuma to stand on it. They both stood on the fulgurite and it lifted them up in the air and took them towards the center of the island. Once they got to the center a large mountain came into view. Wolfe pointed towards an opening in the side of the mountain and told him he would know his goal once he sees it, after he returned he would have completed his exam. It seemed simple enough to Jozuma but he knew it couldn’t be and that something was up, Wolfe’s vagueness did little calm his nerves as well. Jozuma jumped down from the fulgurite and entered the path within the mountain. As he got further and further the temperature started rising and after a while it got significantly toasty. Jozuma’s body never felt cold but he had nothing for blazing heat he started to sweat perfusely as he continued to walk further down the tunnel. Eventually Jozuma saw a reddish light down the tunnel and as he walked out of it he got a full view of what he was up against. Outside the tunnel was an arena within what Jozuma now saw was a volcano. The ground was made of hot rock with pools of red hot lave randomly spread around it. In the center of the arena waited a very muscular man. Now Jozuma understood what Wolfe’s plan was and frankly it pissed him off a little. Jozuma wasn’t just simply out of his element he was in the worst possible scenario. “A volcano? Seriously, a freaking volcano?!?” The muscular man waved at Jozuma and explained his final test. “Haha yes you see Demon Slayer is quite a powerful magic and troublesome to deal with, any old test of combat might be too easy for you so we decided to put you in an environment where your magic would be weakened, so yes, a volcano.” The heat of the arena was unbearable, Jozuma started to feel the water mage’s pain. “I will be your final opponent you must rely on your wit instead of the strength of your magic to defeat, if you win you pass simple as that.” The man then took a few steps back and slammed fists together shifting into a 10ft tall lava titan. “Now fight like your life depended on it!” The titan charged at Jozuma, shaking the ground under his feet, and the battle began.
Titan Fighting Music:
Calcifer spoke about his dire situation. “We’re in trouble you have to try something different.” Jozuma thought quickly and came up with something. Jozuma created an ice pillar just under the titan, it wouldn’t last very long but he didn’t need it too. The titan tripped over the pillar and slided towards Jozuma as he met him with a punch to his face as hard as he could. The titan was slightly knocked to the side put stood to swing at Jozuma, Jozuma reacted by shattering his body and reforming on the the titan’s shoulder. Jozuma threw a few more hits at its head, arm, and neck jumping around as the titan tried to grab him. Eventually the titan did grab him and proceded to slam him against the wall sliding him all across the arena before fast balling him directly to the ground. Jozuma smashed in the ground and bounced towards one of the pools of lava, Jozuma created ice under him just over the pool landing safely on the ice, again this ice would only last a few seconds so he had to get off quick. The titan charged towards Jozuma again, Jozuma could feel bubbling under the ice. The titan tried to punch Jozuma but he jumped out of the way and the titan punched the ice over the pool of lava triggering a small eruption that staggered the titan. Jozuma took advantage of this and created another ice pillar just in front of the titan shooting out diagonally and hitting him in the gut and making him fall on his back. Jozuma created a small ice pillar an propelled himself on top of the titan’s chest. “Lost Blizzard!” A blizzard appeared around the titan disappearing after just 2 seconds but cooling of the titan’s body just a little. “Polar Hunter!” Jozuma formed his icy armor which again wouldn’t last long already starting to melt after forming but this along with the titan’s cooled down body would allow Jozuma to stay cool to beat the titan down as much as he could before he heated up again. Jozuma let out a barrage of punches punches each harder than the last breaking into the titan, Jozuma could feel the heat slowly rise again and his hands were starting to burn but he had to deal as much damage as he could while he still could. Jozuma kept going but the titan’s body heated up again and the titan swung Jozuma off him like a fly, Jozuma crashed into to wall. The titan, lava oozing from the hole Jozuma left in his chest, slowly walked towards Jozuma embedded in the arena wall and started dishing out payback. One after another the titan punched and kicked Jozuma against the wall not showing any signs of letting up. Jozuma was going in pain and going through heatstroke, he wasn’t sure what to do, His ice spells only lasted mere seconds, while he significantly hurt the titan the titan still seemed much stronger, he couldn’t freeze him either. The titan raised hi fists together for another smash and Jozuma tried one last ditch effort, there was still one thing he could freeze even here. “Furozan Warudo.”
TIME FROZE
The titan stood still, the lava gushing from the walls and floor stood still in the air, the heat for those moments had dissipated. This was Jozuma’s last chance to give the titan everything he had. Jozuma quickly jumped his way up the titan and stood behind his neck. Jozuma took a big breath “Ice Demon Rage!” Jozuma let out a blast of magic energy that stopped in frozen time as a ball of energy floating behind it’s neck, this should knock his head straight down. Jozuma jumped down and positioned himself right in front of where he predicted the titan’s head would smash down to and prepared to go all out once more.
TIME RESUMED
The blast of magic energy hit the back of the titan’s neck and he fell straight down slightly to the right of Jozuma, a slight miscalculation but good enough. Jozuma started punching the titan’s face in as hard as her could. The heat was unbearable but Jozuma refused to stop now continuing to smash his fists into the titan’s lava spewing face, his arms practically on fire. At last on final punch did the dead the body of the titan turned to rock and started to crumble leaving only the muscular man layed out on the floor. The muscular man started to get up, stumbling a little, and faced Jozuma and smiled. “Good work young wizard, you passed.” A feeling of pure joy and relief washed over Jozuma. He walked over to the man and shook his hand before leaving the arena. Jozuma left to mountain and saw Wolfe waiting for him with a smile on his face. Jozuma felt like slugging him really hard but in the end his B-Exam was complete so maybe he should look on the brighter side an celebrate. Plus Jozuma was way too tired at this point to raise his fist again so instead he smiled and gave a thumbs up with his singed hand. “You are the worst, but I did it hehe.” --------------------------------------------- 1368 words
Wolfe waited for Jozuma to exit the cave entrance, knowing that the fight was hard, but he had faith he would find a way. He figured Jozuma would hate him for choosing this battle, but he did si he would force him to think his fight out and be smart, rather that just rely on the pure strength of his magic. Wolfe figured Jozuma would be pretty banged up so he had picked up a healing lacrima on the way to the island.
After a little bit he saw as Jozuma made his way from the entrance of the cave and over to Wolfe. Wolfe couldn't help but smile at the comment Jozuma made but had a retort "Your hatred is understood, but this was a test, and s such not meant to be easy. You will have to face challenges where you have nothing but your wits and sheer willpower to get you through. this was intended to be such a test. However, you have passed, and done well. You have passed your exam. Congratulations on ranking up, and good luck on your further missions. If you ever need anything from me, you only need ask. Now climb aboard and i have your trip back covered. Also this might make you feel a little better." Wolfe pulled the kacrima out and held it in his right hand as he funneled magic through his hand and into the lacrima to use it and started using it's healing effects on Jozuma as they flew off towards the beach.
