So that handy dandy little New User Guide has step 1 as introducing myself. Even though I skipped to step 2 shortly after reading that yesterday, I made my account today and therefore step 1 must accurately be followed! No excuses for not saying hello, right? Right?! If you disagree just nod in agreement anyway because you're here reading this and if you click that back button I will know. Maybe. Possibly. Eh, probably not. Shush. Onwards to the stuff you may actually care about!
I am not exactly new to rp, having done it years ago as one of my hobbies. My early rp phase started back when the Avid Gamers site was the big thing for roleplay sites. I was bad. Very bad. Humiliation bad. Most new people coming into the rp scene are, aren't they? Or was that just me? Using * symbols for your actions in character and using one liners was ten times better than typing up a cohesive paragraph! Did I even use third person? I have no idea. I do know that everyone loved me though. Honest. Thankfully I got better, had a lot of fun, met some interesting and cool people, and kept at it for a few years, even during the great rp community migrations.
I moved to Acornrack 2, (Or was AR 1 still around?), when AG shut down, moved again when Acornrack shut down and SPLeafnet was created, and then just finally stopped when SPLeafnet shut down. I wasn't sure where the roleplay community was going next, (proboards I guess), and I didn't feel like starting over again at the time on a different site. Many people I knew were either crushed, tired, or upset at the closing of spleafnet and just did not want to bother remaking everything again. So began the long break of doing anything remotely rp related.
However, for the past couple of weeks I have had the desire to get back into it. I told myself I wasn't doing it and would ignore that annoying itch. Obviously I gave in. I lack the will power, but in this case that doesn't necessarily mean it is a bad thing. I started doing a little searching around to see what the scene was like these days. Some of it is the same, some of it is quite different. I actually didn't trip over ten dozen Kingdom Hearts sites during my exploration through the advertisement boards. Even Pokemon ones seemed to have quieted down a bit. Then I saw it. A Fairy Tail site?! No way! *clicks link*
So without me going into detail about my oos, ahs, and wtf does this mean I was impressed enough to spend some time yesterday to look around for a couple of hours and then made my account today. Still working on character ideas but I can decide on some things after I do the lineage stuff. Yes, I am aware that is Step 3. I'll redo Step 2, promise! For now Step 1 has obtained a checkmark. Am I taking the guide way too seriously when it's more of a tool to help people get started? Probably. Just pretend otherwise.
Now that I had my fun by typing up this rather long winded intro, I will conclude with saying how very excited I am to get started and dive in to meeting and rping with you all!
