Well, well. This one looks like quite an interesting contract indeed. Not everyday you get invitation to something called the "Murder Mystery Game". It intrigued Leila to say the least, as she was a big fan of many books about detective stories where even the most deceiving of acts are found out in the most interesting of manners. Though she would not be actually taking part in it, for she was meant to be one of the hired bodyguards that would ensure no one actually got hurt during the game by any means. That bit was a little bit of a shame, but what can one do. There was absolutely no reason to refuse this work. If nothing else, she could enjoy observing other people doing their very best to solve these made up mysteries. So after few hours of preparing herself, the Eden's witch found herself standing in front of the Oak Inn, 9:45 showing on the clock. Better be here early than late, considering the doors would be locked after the game's start. A little strange choice of design in the girl's head, but she figured the masters of this little game knew perfectly what they were doing. Her attire was actually not much different from the usual, as her combat gear was fancy enough to be worn during such events. And because it was indeed designed for combat, there was also no way it could get damage while getting caught on something inside of the inn.

The only real difference was that she got a small mask that covered just about half of her face. Every participant would get one of these, so that no one's identity could be easily revealed during the game itself. If that was really effective or not, she kinda doubted. But it sounded like an amusing idea, people running around and calling each other by the shape of form of their masks. It was also shame that her father was not here. While just about anyone could be invited to this party, he was... unfit for such games to say the least. A giant towering sentient machine. Yeah, even a full-face mask would not help him to hide in the shadows if he wanted to ever be labeled as the murderer in the game. Though once again, the thought alone was amusing enough to make the girl chuckle. Well, it was about time now that she assumed her position. The lobby of the inn was large, plenty of people gathered. It also had multiple stories, the second one consisting of terrace-like walkways. This was where she would be stationed, one one of them. Suffice to say, having such spot provided a great overview of everything. Which was pretty much the point. From here, she could see anyone who would actually try to play some mischief on others. But no one would get hurt on her watch, no! The great detective and protector of the weak, Leila Vergious was here to ensure everyone's complete safety! What a hero.

And so the games began. Guests would mingle among each other, enjoying the evening. And in a bit, the lights would go out. Upon coming back, one of the gentlemen was lying on the ground, covered in painfully obvious red liquid that was meant to represent blood, his mask shattered next to his frame. Leila actually felt somewhat bad for the actors that had to play dead. Being at such party, yet not allowed to move at all for a good portion of time must have been painful. But as long as everyone was enjoying themselves, there was probably no point in worrying about it at all. After all, they were hired to do this kind of thing. So who knows, maybe that person was used to lying perfectly immobile on the hard wooden floor. People sure have weird hobbies these days so it would not really surprise the Eden's witch all that much. With a sigh, she leaned against the railing in front of her, adjusting her top hat in the process to ensure it would not fall down into the crowd. It seemed like there was quite the array of people. It was little difficult to recognize them from this distance because of the masks, but she spotted even some waiters and the chef from this inn participating. That was nice, allowing your employees take part in such venture. Though it was also clear that they were not exactly used to it themselves, judging by how sloppily they were moving about and aggressively questioning others.

And while the girl looked over this all, a strange glimpse caught her eye. Something quite curious that required closer inspection. And in that moment, her heart stopped for just a little bit. Was that a knife? An actual honest to god knife?! A prop would not reflect light so well. This was bad, someone actually planned to do something unspeakable during this show and disguise it as yet another play. This was precisely what she was hired to prevent. And she was determined to do so, as she jumped over the railing and landed amidst the people down, causing a mild commotion as she nearly landed on another person. Though there was a much bigger problem than accidentally bumping into someone while trying to jump somewhere. From the crowd, a pure white tall hat poked out as a voice echoed. "The silver haired one! She must have done it! No innocent bystander would jump from such place ever, she is trying to flee! Catch the murderer!" Well, that was a problem. He clearly thought he figured it out and wanted to win this game pretty bad. But at least others were merely rolling their eyes at his poor accusations that were not backed up by any evidence at all. Giving him an apologetic look, she started tearing through the crowd and disappeared into a side room that was filled with tables and chairs that normally adorned the main hall, put here for the duration of this event. What she did not expect was for the chef to follow her in here... with a cleaver in his hand.

Kinda backed into a corner, there really wasn't much for the girl to do. That person with a weapon was still out in the main hall, capable of striking at any moment. Having a struggle with chef in here was a great waste of time. Clenching her fist, Leila prepared herself for an escape. Her speed surpassed one of a regular human easily, so there should be no problem. Except as she was visualizing all of that, a damn cleaver nearly took off one of her ears as it stuck to the wooden wall right next to her head, scaring her rather effectively. "I can see it in your eyes! You were imagining all the ways you could butcher me and everyone else in this building, am I right? You damned murderer!" Thankfully, he wasn't exactly smart. Since he threw the cleaver right at her, he no longer had a weapon that would transform him into a threatening target. Not wasting any more time, she dashed and delivered a rather strong punch right into his nose, possibly even breaking it, but mainly, knocking him out. "Alright buddy, you sleep for now. I'll make sure you get your share of punishment later for bringing in an actual weapon. But now I have to stop whoever that was before..." With that, she would leave the side room and find herself back in the main hall. That was somewhat problematic, as she completely lost sight of where the knife wielder was. But only mere moments of moving across the crowd, an unusual noise got her attention. She caught just a glimpse of it, but someone slipped into another room with clothes similar to the one with the knife.

Quickly making her way there, the Eden's witch opened the door as well, only to enter a darkened room that was not meant to be used during this party. Whoever she followed in was probably staff then. She didn't exactly have much time to think about it, however, as a fist suddenly thrust forth from her side, aiming for her face. With her reflexes, she just barely managed to avoid it, gripping the hand and throwing it's owner to the ground. It appeared to be a middle aged men with rather rough appearance who swiftly moved his other hand into a pocket, gleam of a pocket knife appearing as he started pulling it out. "Too slow!" One of her arms suddenly started transforming, wooden bark now covering it and making it much tougher. One single strike managed to knock him out, as well as break apart the ground below his head because of the punch's force. Hopefully he didn't have any brain damage because of that... a barely audible "tsk" suddenly echoed throughout the room, making Leila form a wooden spear in the same hand and throw it as fast as she could towards the sound. Piercing several pieces of furniture, a man in staff uniform stumbled out, the knife she saw before in his hand. "Damn you, I'll carve you up go-" he did not finish. Instead, he ate face full of the girl's knee, as she teleported over to him with her magic and grabbed his head, forcing it into her knee that she also kicked up. Apparently she was getting better at close quarters combat, which was nice. And now she had three different unconscious bodies laying around the building... but they all had malicious intends, so she did her job well as far as she was concerned. And after informing her employers, she was able to enjoy the rest of the party as well.
